You actually did two of your three optional objectives technically. There was an objective for defeating Muffet without using a spider item and one for not using Temmie armor. You were able to do the Muffet fight with Temmie armor, meaning that once you failed the Temmie armor objective it then became possible to defeat Muffet without the spider item.
I thought about that. Personally, I felt it was invalid since it required violating another optional objective to do it, but I guess that works! I had another idea for solving the other objective, but it's mutually exclusive, and it's probably something I'll save for later if I talk about it at all. Thanks for the comment!
Spoiler bruh Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.
Something interesting I thought I'd point out for the run: as a characteristic of ALL boss monsters [specifically, the entire Dreemurr family] is that, as they take damage, their defense decreases. You can see this in action in both the Toriel and Asgore fights, as they start taking more damage as their health lowers. Funnily enough, this attribute is even shared to Flowey [Thanks, Toby, for paying attention to detail] in his Omega fight. Another thing worth mentioning is that the Dogi are possible, as they can be spared incredibly quickly without the stick. Just roll once, then check, then do a pet with each one.
It is a nice touch, although the only one illustrated in this run is Asgore. I figured the Dogi were possible, but the stick method is faster against most of the Dog Unit. Thanks for the comment!
I think it could also be that the game notices you're attacking so it increases your attack... i don't remember where but somewhere in the game it was said that when a creature is determined to strike it will be more powerful or smth like that
Did you mean to use "[" instead of "(" as a detail to your username or am I too far gone? Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. 11:26 There is actually an exploit/trick commonly used in speedrunning where if you write hotfinenticute, you get 360 points. The game does this because it sees this as hot fine enticing and cute as one word and so awards the appropriate points for all those responses at once. Also, if you use the stick during the fight, you get awarded 700 points.
that first thing works if you put in any 4 general compliments from this list: hot sexy pretty handsome gorgeous sparkl charm (overridden by “arm”) attract cute smokin elegant (overridden by “leg”) good look goodlook good-look grace comely fine foxy looker dreamboat stun shapely ravishing allur entic seduct enchant appeal tantaliz adorable radiant capitvat (not a typo on my part)
@@RichConnerGMN Something I'll add is that allur, entic, tantaliz, and captivat (minus the fact that it's misspelled as capitvat) are written like that so that they could be followed by either -e or -ing, since both might be used. That's relevant for the top level comment here that claims that the game recognizes the word "enticing" even though that word isn't actually present in the string "hotfinenticute"
You pretty much have to go out of your way to have Toriel kill you, since the phase ends instantly when your health gets low enough and then they avoid you after that. If you manage, though, you get a shocked expression of Toriel, realizing she just killed you.
The first RUclipsr that I watched play Undertale (I think it was Jacksepticeye?) actually managed to die to Toriel immediately, so ever since then I have always been slightly confused for a moment when people say "Toriel can't kill you" because I know that isn't true lol. I think it's more because I never had a period where I thought that, so if someone originally thinks that but later finds out that she can kill you then they wouldn't be that confused as to why people would still have the misconception.
It has similar defense to the Heart Locket, but it also increases your invincibility time, heals you over time slightly, and boosts your attack power. As its description says, it makes battles too easy. Thanks for the comment!
the temmie armor also decreases in cost every single time you die in a run, thats a more well-known fact about it but surprisingly still not as commonly known as you'd think
I mean I guess heart locket is free and it has 99def And temmy armour has 20def(which still does 1 health to every enemy) and costes 1000 gold(while it can be expensive lmao just die to lower the price)
@@thefoxking4463 the more important stat on the temmie armor is the +invulnerability frames, which only Temmie Armor and the purple soul items affect the additional invulnerability frames is effectively a lot more defense when entire bullets can be totally ignored after having already taken damage recently
It's like a standard RPG because I'm just standing there and taking it...but it's also not like a standard RPG at the same time, because I'm not getting any EXP to help me stand there and take it. It's a mix, I guess.
What's RNG again? Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.
Somehow, despite how wrong this feels, it's... Heartwarming. One child, defiantly facing every challenge this foreign world throws at it. No guarantee of victory. No solace as they are pelted with everything this world has to offer. Every friendship, every word of encouragement... As the child refuses to bring harm to any who cross their path, even through their harsh circumstances, even though at any second they could fall, never to get back up... It makes it so much more meaningful. Knowing that you are the only thing upholding their hopes and dreams. Like an anchor to them. Unmoving. I think you know where I'm going with this, right? I'll get it over with. It fills you with determination.
This run made it very apparent why the Patience soul did NOT survive - you'd need a lot of determination to get through the way I did. Thanks for the comment!
Technically since you will have to use Temmie Armor anyway for Asriel Dreemurr you can actually make it past Muffet without skipping her meaning you can beat the game with completing 2 out of 3 of the bonus objectives.
Technically, yes, but I didn't feel right violating an optional challenge to complete a different optional challenge. Thanks for the comment, I'll keep this kind of stuff in mind for later videos!
Asriel: *I HAVE MY OC WITH EXTREME POWER CAN DO ANYTHING AND CAN ALSO OBLITERATE THE UNIVERSE AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND -* Frisk: hold my temmie armor
Was that the asriel fight I cant remember Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.
From the title, I half-expected this to be a run where you ALSO didn't avoid attacks by not moving, since that can be considered "dodging" of a sort; That is, doing this, but going out of your way to get hit. But I imagine that's nigh-impossible. So, Asriel is only doable with Temmie Armor? Anyway, great run & analysis video! Thanks for uploading!
It would be a lot harder, and also brings muddier rules - how much would you need to intentionally pursue bullets? As far as I can tell, yes. At least, with this exact ruleset I used. With one change, there are ways I can think of, but I'll save those for another video. Thanks for the comment, glad you enjoyed the video!
Same Isaiah 54:17 No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.
Thanks! I did spend a decent amount of time strategizing and figuring things out, alongside hoping for RNG to pan out in a few fights. I'm not sure if it's incredible, since there are harder things out there, but it was challenging nevertheless. Hopefully the stuff I have planned is to your liking as well!

I’m surprised you didn’t try Resting in the inn before first trying to fight Papyrus. Id have thought about extra 50% max hp would be a godsend for this run
I...honestly forgot to do it much in this run, but it might have helped indeed. Not massively, since it's only 10 extra HP, but any extra HP is welcome. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@NovemberJoy forgive me if I'm wrong, and for being extremely late to respond, but with your best attempt and the extra 10 hit points it may make it so you can get through muffet without temmie armor, that I don't know though since I never played Undertale to know the exact time that muffet does so
@@hagenaubram6341 It's a good idea, but the main issue with Muffet is that the second cupcake chase attack lasts so long that you won't survive even at max HP, and you can't preserve the extra HP because previous attacks will hit you without fail. Don't worry, it was a good thought!
I've never played Undertale all the way through myself because I always sucked at the dodging mechanics and figured since I'm the kind of person who'd always want to play pacifist I'd have too hard a time winning. But finding out you can win even without dodging actually makes me willing to give it another try some time lol.
I had a very hard time with Mettaton on a normal playthrough(I've had the game for two years and never finished my first playthrough because of this), so I decided to see if there's anyway this video could help me, and it definitely did. I had no idea you could end the fight by getting to 1200 ratings, and switching the armor out was also a huge help. It also helped me with the Asriel fight just by showing the chaos blaster attack, I had such a hard time during the fight because I didn't know how to dodge it, seeing it without needing to worry about dodging was a huge help even if it wasn't the point of this video. Thank you!
Hey, I'm glad this video could help, even if its strategies are definitely not the intended ones in many cases! Glad you managed to get through the game and finish it after two years, and hopefully you enjoyed your experience regardless!
I dont think anyone actually knows about this but if you choose Joke on Woshua he hits you for just 1 HP and if Woshua is with Aaron then you can spare Aaron immediately
This was a great challenge and video. Like you said, the Mettaton fight was great, definitely my favorite part of the run! Looking forward to more challenges in the future.
Oh, hey, you do challenge runs too! I have more stuff planned, and another one that I'm in the process of streaming, so hopefully you won't have to wait too long. Your stuff's pretty nice too, and I could stand to learn from you. Thanks for the comment!
@@NovemberJoy Yeah, challenge runs are by far my favorite type of video to make/watch so I'm always looking out for interesting ones like this. The quality of this video is really great, something I could learn from too since I get lazy especially with my audio.
I mean, I can't verify that, but it's possible. I can't check the code for the Dog Residue, after all. It might just be random RNG, though. Thanks for the comment!
Really good video, i loved it! This is basically playing undertale like a regular turn based RPG, maybe with a patience soul instead of a determination soul. Surprised you didn't mention the Snowdin inn though, it overheals you and increases your max hp to 30.
That's the idea: beating a bullet-hell RPG like a regular RPG is just a fun idea. I...forgot about the Snowdin Inn, I really should have mentioned that at some point. Thanks for the comment!
@@NovemberJoy I do have a question regarding this run. I assume this needs to take place after at least a single neutral/pacifist run has taken place, otherwise we are forced into the omega flowey fight, correct? kinda wanna try this out for myself so just making sure.
@@pepearmstrong3239 Yeah, I used previous save data so I didn't need to fight Omega Flowey. I also didn't need to fight Asgore, but I did because I wanted to try it. If you do try this, hopefully you do have fun with it!
Very well done, my friend, in both the run and the video itself. I enjoyed it quite a lot, and it was interesting to see it in action after hearing you talk about it while it was in progress.
Thanks! I worked pretty hard on it, and I'm glad you enjoyed the final result. I'm still thinking about more challenge runs in the future, especially if you have any ideas.
Now I'm just imagining the Sans judgement during this run being like "...hey, kid, are you ok? you've been getting beat up pretty bad. you do know you don't have to just stand there and take it, right?" Thanks for the comment!
I know madjick wasn’t a problems, here is a madjick trick that might help in future challenges: using the stare action renders his attacks essentially useless, and you can spare him soon after taking away his power that way
Not sure why haven't I watched this video earlier, but I'm glad I did and, holy crap it most definitely deserves more attention! After playing Deltarune for so much time, Undertale looks WAY harder than it initially was! Jeez, glad to hear you did pull it through :) Wish you luck in your future endeavours! Hoping to see Deltarune chapter 1 receive the same treatment 👌
Hey, nice to see you here! Glad to hear you enjoyed this video. I honestly thought Deltarune was going to be harder due to turn economy and having less useful tools, but you surprised me with your video. I've got other runs already recorded, but I just haven't edited them together :( Thanks again for the comment. I might think about doing Deltarune later once more of the game is out, since I have a few other videos to edit together first.
That's the kind of thing I had to research beforehand. I also didn't know that swapping armor gave such a huge boost until this run. Thanks for the comment!
It did the same thing to me, but not during a playthrough. It's not the only game that's done so, but it did still get tears from me, and that's hard to do. Thanks for the comment!
Technically you could just edit your save file to give yourself the stick and that would have been fair but I appreciate your *bravery* to do all of this yourself
I could, but that would have felt wrong, not to mention I'd have to look up the structure of Undertale's save files or use someone else's tool for it. Thanks for the comment!
@@NovemberJoy there's an easy way to edit save files, just search for flowey's time machine, there, you can load your save file and edit the inventory or any other thing
@@NovemberJoy If I was in that situation I would have just gone through Endogny normally since you know it IS possible, so you could save time and effort.
Good video! The idea is pretty unique, and the narration is straight to the point and not off-topic. I liked the video, and I hope you do more videos like this in the future!
Thanks for the feedback! This is the video that I've put the most work into so far, so I'm glad to hear people enjoy it. I have some work done on more stuff, and I'll try to get something else out soon.
Hey. Did you know you could abuse punch card to infinitely kill and respawn Mettaton EX after you was locked into Pacifist route? That's a lot of grind but you can fight Asriel with hp of lv20 this way. There's even a speedrun for this trick. What do you think about that?
I knew about being able to kill without consequence once the True Lab is open in the Windows 1.0 release, but I forgot about murdering an infinite number of Mettaton EXes. If glitches and exploits were allowed in the run, I could've made good use of one of those to avoid needing Temmie Armor. Thanks for the information, and for the comment!
I'm hoping to finally get another challenge run edited together soon. Not quite as difficult as this one was, but it did make me play a game in a totally different way, and that's what I like. Thanks for the comment!
Not sure whether you're referring to this video or another that I might have teased in this one's outro, but either way, I'm glad you have confidence in my abilities!
Ive watches skip the tutorial’s video after yours, and it really only gave me that much respect to your run and dedication. Each time he said well that’s impossible or so hard …etc, im like MY BOI DID IT OVER HERE BUDDY AND HE MADE IT LOOK EASY. Kudos to you mate.
I still think his video was very well presented and edited, and that I have things to learn from him, but I'm glad to hear I outdid him in one aspect. Thanks for the feedback!
The music right before the asriel fight really puts this run in perspective. It's stupid, crazy, and would only work if someone was determined enough to throw themselves at a problem over and over
very well structured and fun video honestly expected you to be a bigger creator given the quality of this video, and the unique idea as well. got a subscription from me
Thanks! The idea was based on someone else's run, and I'm not the first to do it, but I feel like I did well at the run and the production of the video? I hope you'll enjoy whatever else I put out in the future.
I'm glad you feel that way! I did put plenty of work into this video. I hope whatever I put out in the future will turn out well too. Thanks for the comment!
It definitely has its fun parts, and Mettaton was the most fun one. The puzzle solving that went into this run was the best part, and I'm hoping for more runs that force me to do that. Thanks for the comment!
@@NovemberJoy your welcome if only the undertale community was more nice anyways i notice you did the same with the deltarune i am ganna go watch that soon
After undyne calls the player to meet them in snowdin, the pacifist run is basically locked on and doesnt track your kill count (at least in core) which makes a great exploit for final bosses
You do have to move the soul a time or two, but you don't ever have to dodge attacks by the rules I set. I had a feeling it was possible, but I thought I'd have to use Temmie Armor way earlier than I did! Glad to hear you enjoyed the video.
Thank you - I'm looking forward cautiously at this video blowing up. You can make your channel larger as well - it just takes having the right video in the right way, I guess.
This is really entertaining good job, the editing the idea. Seriously! I think you will get 100k if you keep on doing challenge runs on any game like this!
I mean, that's a REALLY far-off goal, but it'd be cool! And also very pressuring. I do have more ideas, and more footage already recorded, so you can expect to see more in the near future. Thanks for the comment!
If you keep putting out awesome and genius videos I can see you growing insanely fast. This video was amazingly high quality and absolutely fun to watch. Can't wait to see you again!
after you get the undyne call in the core entrance, you can kill core monsters without losing pacifist since you're locked in after the call, so you could grind up to around level 14 or 15 for a lot of health
Yeah, I could. I specifically banned glitches in this run, though, because I'd also be able to skip plenty of fights if I used them. Thanks for the suggestion, though!
To be fair, it's also a challenge run of its own, albeit one that the game actually recognizes. Thanks for the comment, and don't feel bad about it - a lot of these fights are difficult with base equipment and no healing, I just took on a different challenge.
Yeah, I had no idea the stick was useful there until I didn't have it. Good to hear people are alright with that, I was just hoping to get back quickly so I could get the footage recorded quickly. Thanks for the comment!
Nice work! This run brought back a lot of memories from both recently and long ago, some of them useful in this run! 1. Normal monsters can be spared if they are on a low enough HP. This did result in my first run accidentally turning neutral, but many monsters could be bypassed this way. 2. Confirmed earlier this week, Undyne may have an easier variant (not sure it's actually easier). Challenge was a clever move to begin with, but fully committing and sticking in the first section longer will eventually cause her to stop turning you green at all, even when you flee and get caught. 3. This isn't a tip, just two funny-ish thoughts: My friend died to the Mad Dummy's knife the one time he tried to play it, which is insane, and I also didn't know the hush puppy existed until trying to circumvent Edogeny. Seriously, why have both that and the stick? 4. It's easily debatable whethere this is really a pacifist run, but at least in older updates the last check for the True Ending was around the True Lab, meaning you can quit the Asriel fight and go to the CORE to grind the remaining scripted monsters. Whether this is better than Temy Armor or not is up to you, but it's enough to grant a lot of extra hp.
Alright, I'll address each of these points separately: 1. I've heard about this, but it wasn't something I could easily rely on in fights, especially since I stuck with the Torn Notebook for the rest of the playthrough as soon as it became available. 2. That's an interesting idea, and one I didn't think about! Might be worth messing with at a later date. 3. Yeah, during my off-camera testing of this run I died the same way. I didn't know about the Hush Puppy either, and its stats and properties just mystify me...you have to use a Hot Dog to get it, which means you must spare Papyrus as a minimum, but it heals 65 HP, which is more than you'll have unless you're LV 13 or higher? 4. As long as you can still reach the True Pacifist ending, I consider it valid. That was a thought I had, but I felt it was more important to just play the game without any major glitches or exploits. Maybe I could include it in a video later, to show that you can beat the game under these conditions without Temmie Armor if you're allowed to use glitches and exploits. Thanks for the comment, I like seeing long comments with plenty of substance like this.
@@NovemberJoy Of course it'd be hard with the torn notebook, but maybe more merciful than devouring Vegetoid? Seriously, how is that still on route? To be fair, I never used the hot dogs/cat either. Almost all of my playtime in the past 2-3 years was loading saves for different bosses... mostly Undyne. I'm glad this comment was able to help..? inform..? whatever! Recently I've been struggling with putting thoughts into writing, and knowing this came out well helped :).
@@CyanicCore It was lethal to devour Vegetoid in the demo, but the full release changed it so you only take a bite and recover 5 HP instead of eating the whole thing. I'm glad this is helping you flex your writing muscles. Keep flexing them, then you'll be able to use them for anything you want.
@@NovemberJoy So you just take a bite out of Vegetoid? While not quite fitting of the term devour, that still doesn't seem pacifistic. Well, UT is unexpectedly weird about what counts as violence. It's implied shooting Mettaton's heart is what blows his limbs off, but none of the yellow soul attacks count. The same goes for the hit options in Undyne's house battle, eating the snowman piece... really anything that doesn't kill.
Ah, a viewer of culture! Thank you for recognizing this reference. I hope Jim does come back and finish DDS2, even if it seems less likely by the day...

To be fair, I only had a couple of comments until very recently... This video kinda blew up out of nowhere. I hope I'll make content in the future to deserve that number. Thanks for the comment!
Absolutely. Thankfully, the run I was basing this off of skipped him with previous save data, so I went by the same logic. Thanks for the comment, hopefully you enjoyed the video!
after doing a bit of research, i think there isnt a way to beat muffet in this kind of challenge run while still honoring all the optional challenges. if you couldnt bypass her fight entirely with either using a spider donut in the fight or buying one directly from her, i dont think it would be possible to get past her.
I did give it a good try, at least. If those chase attacks didn't last so long, they might be possible to live through. I can't think of any way to do it within these rules either unless I allowed some kind of glitch and that glitch was able to help with surviving Muffet's onslaught. Thanks for the comment!
@@NovemberJoy most glitches in the game, from my understanding though i could be wrong, are either in the overworld or are caused by debug stuff, which as far as i know there's no way to enable debug stuff inside the game as its running, you can only enable it by modifying the game files. so unfortunately, even as far as glitches go im not sure how much can really help that brutal muffet fight :D
i think some of these fights could have been made easier due to the fact that in snowdin at any point in the game you can increase your hp to 30/20 in the hotel for 10 extra hp. great video though!

Whatever happened to Omega Flowey? You skip straight from Asgore to the True Lab without so much as mentioning him. He marks the end of the Neutral Route, which you have to go through to initiate True Pacifist.
I talked about him right before going to fight Asgore, mentioning that we didn't actually need to fight Asgore because we had save data from a previous run. I tried Omega Flowey a little bit off-camera, but I don't think that one's beatable without dodging. Thanks for the comment!
@@NovemberJoy How is that possible? I thought that the only way to skip his fight was to beat him and then reload the save. How'd you carry that into a new run?
@@AlphaOmega1237 All you need to get the calls to start True Pacifist is to have completed a run in the past, even if you reset - I believe Flowey also won't fight you again if you've done that, although I haven't verified that. Thanks for the comment!
@@AlphaOmega1237 Back in the day the "common knowledge" was that you had to reset to perform a True Pacifist. At the time people had a huge issue with the idea that simply reloading could affect the game... despite that mechanic being a plot point. ;) Funny that nowadays your instinct is that a Reset would cancel the Pacifist access
It would've been watching a soul shatter repeatedly as he beats it down over and over again. It's sad, but it's the truth, because no equipment has any effect on the fight. There's a reason why I used previous save data to skip him.
@@NovemberJoy absolutely, I've watched so much undertake content and yet I still listened intently throughout the video despite my incredibly short attention span

There's definitely a couple, but I try to reply to just about everyone! I'm glad you appreciate it. Hopefully I'll do more things worth appreciating in the near future!
So if you put gorgeous, beautiful, stunning, radiant into the quiz prompt you get more ratings than putting legs. I did this on the switch version when I found out about it so I'm not sure if it works on all platforms but I don't see why it wouldn't work anywhere else
I wasn't aware of this when I was recording this challenge. Thankfully, I didn't need the extra 10 points - legs is already +350, and the maximum bonus from compliments is only +360. Thanks for the suggestion, though!
While I'm not sure how helpful it would be considering they are CORE encounters, but in 1.00 Undyne's phonecall where she asks you to deliver her letter (Which locks you on Pacifist) causes CORE encounters to be re-enabled, meaning you can grind all 40 encounters and get to around LOVE 15, which makes both the Amalgamates and Asriel trivial, even without Temmie Armor.
It's true that would work! I made this challenge glitchless, though, so that wouldn't help. If it were allowed, though, it would allow for completing the game without using Temmie Armor, even if Muffet would still be impossible without it. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@NovemberJoy Ah, I see, I wasnt sure if it was allowed in your rules (Since its more of a bug than a proper glitch) and you just weren't aware of it? No problem! At least it makes the Temmie Armor non-compulsory which is definitely cool.

Sorta, yeah. We sadly don't have the HP that most monsters do, though, so we can't tank the attacks very well, but it definitely didn't stop us from trying!
Now we need someone to attempt Genocide. It won't work but I want to see how far they can get. Maybe see how many bosses they can defeat by skipping ones they can't.
Hmm... If you bend the rules to allow shield movement, it MIGHT be possible to tank through the red soul attacks for Undyne. Sans, though... There is actually a setup to live through the first attack without dodging, but his attacks are too damaging to survive or to let you attack afterwards. Thanks for the comment!
i know undyne the undying's spears can be janky and allow you to dodge them from the wrong direction sometimes, and on 1.0 you can pick on loox for like 12 hours to get to lv19. also on 1.0 you can get the punch card in genocide to skip sans, so... there IS a chance, but not a very good one. though i can say with certainty that it won't be done rta.
@@RichConnerGMN Although, if we use the same rules as this run, you aren't allowed to use glitches and the spear dodge is a glitch. I believe the punch card thing is a glitch too but it might not be. However, I am pretty sure obtaining the punch card requires a glitch.
3:55 I did a horizontal only challenge on pacifist and Papyrus is possible if you go to the inn, get as much defense as possible from armor, and have a ton of food
I could, yeah! I was trying to do this run without glitches, though, so I wasn't allowing myself to use that. Still interesting to keep in mind, though!
I have a bad habit of not sticking to things and letting my schedule slip. That, combined with me streaming more often and slacking on the video editing caused it. I'm working on another video right now, though... Fingers crossed people will enjoy it. Thanks for the comment!
A lot of people find the True Lab to be a difficulty spike, I think. And if you WERE wearing Temmie Armor, the fact that you died at all says something. Thanks for the comment!
@@NovemberJoy I was wearing temy armour (ran out of healing items against endogeny) but, second play thru didn’t die in true lab even without temy armour
He hit me, but he also gave me the Dog Residue that let me eat garbage to survive and scam Temmie out of thousands, so I think we're even. Thanks for the comment!
Helps that you can't actually use Temmie Armor against Sans - Temmie won't sell it during a genocide route. Even if you could, though, it wouldn't help much.
Yeah, that's something that would've been nice to know beforehand. I'm still confused by the Hush Puppy - you can only get it if you spare Papyrus at a minimum, and it heals 65 HP, which you can't exceed until LV 13...I just don't get it. Thanks for the comment!

I think it could also be that the game notices you're attacking so it increases your attack... i don't remember where but somewhere in the game it was said that when a creature is determined to strike it will be more powerful or smth like that
So the more damage you do, the more damage they take?
Undyne does this, I had assumed she was losing confidence.
Did you mean to use "[" instead of "(" as a detail to your username or am I too far gone?

You pretty much have to go out of your way to have Toriel kill you, since the phase ends instantly when your health gets low enough and then they avoid you after that. If you manage, though, you get a shocked expression of Toriel, realizing she just killed you.
I think there's only one attack where you can possibly die, so there was never any real danger for this run. Fun to know about, though.
Yeah that happened to me the first time I played but now I can't even do it on purpose
My first run I died to Toriel over and over
it's pretty much impossible to die to her doing this challenge. you have to be moving
I thought the Temmie Armor was a joke item, and it didn't help much. But damn, that armor is probably better than the heart locket!
@@Templarfreak It's designed so that anyone can complete the game using it. Good thing, because I wouldn't have been able to without it.

Alright, I'll address each of these points separately:
11:35 You may re-subscribe to Jim Reaper if and only if he finishes DDS2
nice pfp
Ah, a viewer of culture! Thank you for recognizing this reference. I hope Jim does come back and finish DDS2, even if it seems less likely by the day...
This man is a legend. It's been almost a year since he's made this video and he's still replying to comments! Get him up to 1,000 subscribers at least!
To be fair, I only had a couple of comments until very recently... This video kinda blew up out of nowhere. I hope I'll make content in the future to deserve that number. Thanks for the comment!
13:40
Photoshop Flowey....
That’s like, the main thing that would kill this run XD
Absolutely. Thankfully, the run I was basing this off of skipped him with previous save data, so I went by the same logic. Thanks for the comment, hopefully you enjoyed the video!
16:40 All you needed was the stick and play fetch with him, and then you can spare him after that... at least with the PS4 version.
That's what I ended up doing. Good thing you can, otherwise I would've needed Temmie Armor to make it through. Thanks for the comment!
A great run on a classic game! Was very invested into it. Hopes to more to come.
I have more on the way hopefully soon. Thanks for the comment!
after doing a bit of research, i think there isnt a way to beat muffet in this kind of challenge run while still honoring all the optional challenges. if you couldnt bypass her fight entirely with either using a spider donut in the fight or buying one directly from her, i dont think it would be possible to get past her.
@@Templarfreak you can literally just use the punch card to skip the muffet fight entirely lmao
@@RichConnerGMN ??? did you not watch the video or did you just completely miss what the point of the optional challenges were?
@@Templarfreak did you read your own reply????? you said "even as far as glitches go im not sure how much can really help that brutal muffet fight"
i think some of these fights could have been made easier due to the fact that in snowdin at any point in the game you can increase your hp to 30/20 in the hotel for 10 extra hp. great video though!
It might have made things just a little easier, yeah, but I didn't end up needing it. Thanks for the suggestion, though!
i doubt it really would have changed much since it's just starting out a battle with 10 more hp and it would be lost quickly
am i the only one who stuck till the end of the outro to see how many names he hit by not moving just to have it end without me knowing the answer it made me feel like the "my dissapointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined" meme
I didn't realize someone would want to see that... I'll try not to make that mistake in the future. Thanks for the feedback.
@@NovemberJoy lol i was just midly curious
i had the same disappointment!
BROO HOW ARE U SOO UNDER RATED I BET IF U MADE MANY VIDS LIKE THESE U COULD HAVE 1M SUBS
Thanks for the support! I have no idea how I'd handle that many subscribers, but I'm sure I'd find a way. I'm planning on making more stuff in the future, so hopefully you'll continue to enjoy!
This is really impressive to me I didn't know half of this stuff was in the game
Trust me, weird challenge runs make you explore all your options and learn things you never had to learn before. Thanks for the comment!
@@NovemberJoy im just gonna say your the only youtuber i have ever seen who actually responds to all the youtube comments good job i know it takes time so props
Only 588 subs, with this content quality?! Boom. Instant new sub
Thanks for the sub! This is the only video so far of this quality, but I have a video partway through production that should hopefully live up to the same standard.
@@NovemberJoy I see. I guess I must have missed that, but you do indeed say so on a second watch. Thanks for clarifying - the run is valid again!
@@AlphaOmega1237
Back in the day the "common knowledge" was that you had to reset to perform a True Pacifist. At the time people had a huge issue with the idea that simply reloading could affect the game... despite that mechanic being a plot point. ;)
Funny that nowadays your instinct is that a Reset would cancel the Pacifist access
I'm really interested in how the omegaflowey fight would have looked like
It would've been watching a soul shatter repeatedly as he beats it down over and over again. It's sad, but it's the truth, because no equipment has any effect on the fight. There's a reason why I used previous save data to skip him.
@@NovemberJoyif you somehow get to the first soul phase then you start after the first soul phase (because you can’t die during a soul phase)
damn top 10 things I didn't know I needed:
1. knowing if you can beat pacifist undertale without dodging
It's always the questions you never thought about before that end up the most interesting. Thanks for the comment!
@@NovemberJoy absolutely, I've watched so much undertake content and yet I still listened intently throughout the video despite my incredibly short attention span
@@yourlocaltherapistfriend5091 Good to hear. Hopefully you'll enjoy anything else I end up putting out that's Toby-related.
You know? If you buy spider donut in Muffet station it will skip or just think like you use Tem Armor not donut = 2 chalange complete
I was hoping to beat her without using Temmie Armor or using a spider item to skip her fight, though, so those options weren't available. I could have used Temmie Armor, though, I just didn't want to. Thanks for the comment!
@@NovemberJoy I think about "buy" spider Item in Muffet shop before her fight if you buy it she won't start fight and you won't use spider Item...
There is 1.5k comments and i cant find a single one you DIDNT reply to, bro you are CRAZY dedicated to your community, MASSIVE respect
There's definitely a couple, but I try to reply to just about everyone! I'm glad you appreciate it. Hopefully I'll do more things worth appreciating in the near future!
you can skip lemon bread by going on top of the "save" point and pressing up and down quickly
Wait, is that a thing? I'm gonna research that later...
@@NovemberJoy that only works on switch, and you just hold up-left
So if you put gorgeous, beautiful, stunning, radiant into the quiz prompt you get more ratings than putting legs. I did this on the switch version when I found out about it so I'm not sure if it works on all platforms but I don't see why it wouldn't work anywhere else
I wasn't aware of this when I was recording this challenge. Thankfully, I didn't need the extra 10 points - legs is already +350, and the maximum bonus from compliments is only +360. Thanks for the suggestion, though!
*You held on to your hopes…
*Reduced how much damage you’ll take this turn!
With the power of hope and armor made of Temmies, you can survive anything!
7:44
I get to Hotland, much easier than I expected.
Undyne half a second later: *dies*
I love how it cuts right there 😂
That was the idea, I'm glad someone enjoyed this little editing gag I put in there!
Neutral is made slightly harder because you take 1 more damage for every 10 hp
That is true, but the higher HP still lets you take more hits before falling.
@@NovemberJoy Yes i agree but it is an important thing to consider
Such a good vid! I am still waiting for that Mario & luigi video.
It's coming soon, don't worry.
Man's just reverse no-hit every fight lmao
Technically, I did no-hit the Doggo fight...otherwise, yes, it is an interesting inversion of a common challenge. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
This is really well made for your sub count
You even have less than me, yet make way better content
@@ScottPIayz I did put a lot of work into making this video happen, so it's good to hear people enjoying it. I think you can put together great videos, too, as long as you've got usable equipment and you're willing to put the time in. Thanks for the comment!
@@NovemberJoy no problem, thanks, hope your channel does amazing
Basically, can you beat Undertale if you are a regular monster (Sans is not a regular monster)
I kinda want to see that fight. Runs where your directional movement is only partially restricted are fun. Thanks for the comment!
My first fight with mad dummy was actually really hard since I had forgotten to bring any healing items.
That'll do it. Did you try checking the cooler, or did you just win without healing at all?
@@NovemberJoy I just went through it without healing at all.
Glad the algorithm finally blessed this excellent vid
It certainly has. Now I just need to put the work in to make it count... Thanks for the comment!
I'm pretty sure you could kill monsters to get more HP and defeat Asriel without Temie armor same as you did on your no ACTing run.
I could, yeah! I was trying to do this run without glitches, though, so I wasn't allowing myself to use that. Still interesting to keep in mind, though!
Amazing vid!!
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
*Me wondering why he hasn’t made a new video in months, but is active enough to reply to every comment*
I have a bad habit of not sticking to things and letting my schedule slip. That, combined with me streaming more often and slacking on the video editing caused it. I'm working on another video right now, though... Fingers crossed people will enjoy it. Thanks for the comment!
@@NovemberJoy Ah I see, have a nice day sir.
13:50 the difficulty spikes high enough to be noticed by normal players
Me on first playthrough: only dies once (totally not wearing temmie armour)
A lot of people find the True Lab to be a difficulty spike, I think. And if you WERE wearing Temmie Armor, the fact that you died at all says something. Thanks for the comment!
@@NovemberJoy I was wearing temy armour (ran out of healing items against endogeny) but, second play thru didn’t die in true lab even without temy armour
@@Panic_Attack420 Well, you improved on the second playthrough, so that counts for something.
@@NovemberJoy yeh, but can you beat the game without using gold and/or healing items (save points can be used)
22:47 You got hit by Toby Fox
He hit me, but he also gave me the Dog Residue that let me eat garbage to survive and scam Temmie out of thousands, so I think we're even. Thanks for the comment!
You’re welcome!
Temmie armour: makes battles too easy.
Sans: and I took the personality
Helps that you can't actually use Temmie Armor against Sans - Temmie won't sell it during a genocide route. Even if you could, though, it wouldn't help much.
11:36 I learned the following from NEO
16:44 You could have bought the Hush puppy off the Hotel Hallway to skip it
17:05 :D
Yeah, that's something that would've been nice to know beforehand. I'm still confused by the Hush Puppy - you can only get it if you spare Papyrus at a minimum, and it heals 65 HP, which you can't exceed until LV 13...I just don't get it. Thanks for the comment!
