That variable is the same variable that gets incremented by +1 after the sans fight. Then the main timeline resumes and sees that variable is still >0, goes to the same other timeline and repeats.

i just wanted to point out that it's kinda cool that at 31:59, Sans mentions something about "how about we do this for the third time?" despite the fact that the Judgement Hall should be the first time you encounter Sans, because of the previous two encounters in entirely different areas.

Re Vegetoid's health: I'm guessing Toby was trying to make it easier to drop its health to the spareable range so you can use Devour on it, without accidentally killing it in one hit.
Honestly that's a pretty good concept. While I like the idea of fighting bosses only once, in the case of a game like this, it seems much cooler to fight a boss more than once a run
I tried this mod out like 5 minutes ago (well thats when i completed it). I didnt realise if you die to a random boss, you have to do it again. I was just casually going through the ruins, then Undyne appeared outa nowhere. I fought UTU a whole 4 times during this mod, the ruins, snowdin, waterfall and core (counting the actual boss). I only fought sans at the sans corridor (luckily), but still beat him first try, i was a bit rusty, but i did it. I also very much enjoyed killing Jerry the way you do it, with the music and everything

Funny enough, sans probably isnt all that much harder when fought early game due to how his mechanic make most of your high stats irrelevant. Undyne on the other hand fully benefit from the player having less health and damage.

People have already started making mods like that for Chapters 1 and 2. But it's very buggy since it includes bosses aswell which may not work in other areas other than their intended ones.
There's a version for chapter 1&2 Also, the game's not going to take 8 years to be finished, Ch. 2 took only one year to be finished, and it's almost nothing when considering the problems Toby Fox had during the development. Chapter 3 and 4 are almost finished and the game's going to release when Ch. 5 is finished, then we're going to have Chapter 6&7 as a dlc or update (it is unknown if they're going to release together). Also, the team is bigger now
The ending of this run reminds me of when I was playing an Earthbound Randomiser on a discord stream, and me and the few pals I was streaming it with were looking out during the entire run for a Kraken encounter, only to not get one until the final boss, where it's sprite was replaced by a Kraken.

Honestly that's a pretty good concept. While I like the idea of fighting bosses only once, in the case of a game like this, it seems much cooler to fight a boss more than once a run

I tried this mod out like 5 minutes ago (well thats when i completed it). I didnt realise if you die to a random boss, you have to do it again. I was just casually going through the ruins, then Undyne appeared outa nowhere. I fought UTU a whole 4 times during this mod, the ruins, snowdin, waterfall and core (counting the actual boss). I only fought sans at the sans corridor (luckily), but still beat him first try, i was a bit rusty, but i did it. I also very much enjoyed killing Jerry the way you do it, with the music and everything

I just came up with my own interpretation of the lore. Sans replaced those two monsters so he could get a quick buck since they had to replace Undyne because she had some stuff to do. He later asked Undyne to fight the human since he was extremely tired of all the work.

Funny enough, sans probably isnt all that much harder when fought early game due to how his mechanic make most of your high stats irrelevant. Undyne on the other hand fully benefit from the player having less health and damage.

People have already started making mods like that for Chapters 1 and 2. But it's very buggy since it includes bosses aswell which may not work in other areas other than their intended ones.
i played one for chapter 1 last year, pretty fun

Also, the game's not going to take 8 years to be finished, Ch. 2 took only one year to be finished, and it's almost nothing when considering the problems Toby Fox had during the development. Chapter 3 and 4 are almost finished and the game's going to release when Ch. 5 is finished, then we're going to have Chapter 6&7 as a dlc or update (it is unknown if they're going to release together). Also, the team is bigger now
