    Another nice feature of 20mm (other than it is often more useful than 24mm, you can always crop in post) is that 20mm is the widest focal length where vertical lines are not distorted.

    I also have the Sony 20G 1.8 (sold my 24GM for it after using it). It's really the best choice for vlogging on a full frame IMO and its so useful for so many other things. It's really one of the best lenses I own

    • @AJGalecki
      @AJGalecki Год назад +1

      @@petemauro1375 Its the ideal focal length if you want to vlog, its also wider and more cinematic (if wide The Revenant-type shots are your thing) for wedding films, music videos, etc. I also found it doesn't focus breathe/hunt nearly as much wide open. I stand by the 20mm 1.8 100%

    For APS-C, we also have the new Samyang 12mm f2 AF as a vlogging option. It's a probably a good middle ground between lowlight from the sigma 16mm and both the ultrawide angle options 👍

    We’ve been using the 24-70mm 2.8 gMaster since we upgraded to the A7s3 and love it. Yes it’s heavy but it feels like an all in one solution. I wish I could go a little wider but we bought the 16-30 gMaster and I always feel so limited by the zoom on that one. I know with the digital stabilization crop 24 seems too close but we’ve made it work for the most part.
    When we had the a6400/6600 all we used was the sigma 16mm and were very happy with that setup.
    Thanks got the great video as always.

    We use the Sony A7IV with Sony 14mm GM lens, with the rear ND filters, and Sony ECM-B1M microphone. When we want a little tighter we hit Super-35 or crop in post. A7IV has plenty of mega pixels. Basically we’ve drank the Sony cool-aid.

    Broke as a joke APS-C crowd here. If you're looking for an ultrawide on the cheap you can't go wrong with the Rikinon/Samyang 12mm F2.0 Ultra Wide. It's about $270 and goes on sale for as low as about $220! For that price you're giving up OSS and autofocus but if you're a stationary streamer or tripod vlogger this thing is perfect. Even if you're just new to this & curious about ultrawide it's a good super cheap option for your first ultrawide. Also it makes for great cat hug photos. LOL

    Although this video isn't relevant to me -- I don't vlog (yet...) -- I much prefer this style over the style you used in the review for the Sony 24-70 Gmaster you made in Switzerland (green screen stuff, cutesy/joking). This one is much more professional but still has a light hearted sense to it. The other style is corny, over the top - that makes it hard to sort through the humor to find the message and the green screen content becomes a distraction; it makes you look like a rookie weather reporter in Tiny Town, USA. I could be wrong and I may not be your target demographic; but thought I would give you some honest feedback. Your thoughts?

      Agree. I use their 24mm 2.8 - so cheap for my first lens and image wuality is so sharp. The only problem it is good weather lens since it doesn't have weather sealing. Probably will leave it on my face cam later on when i buy it and some more premium westher sealed wide angle lens lol

  • @Donbros
    @Donbros 3 года назад

    Pffff i use samyang 24mm 2.8. It is extremely lightweight and costed 250! :D The only downside would be lack of weather sealing - everything else is so good. So the only compromise is that I have to use it during non rainy days outside. Saving for 16-35mm. But also your top pick interest me if I am tired for saving for 16-35 lol XD

    I'm begging you, please review the Viltrox 24mm 1.8 FE. My Sony A7C and Viltrox is on it's way and I'm afraid of facing regrets. :(
    Cheers from the Philippines!
