A great selection of lenses. A 24-70 and a 70-200 is always a must, but I use the sigma and mark 1 of the 70-200. Would also give an honorable mention to the tamron 17-28 to cover wider focal lengths and a fraction of the price of anything from Sony!
Awesome video! Really enjoyed how you showed the footage you got from each lens. Something I do wonder, though, if you have the 24-70 mm f/2.8, how often do you find yourself actually using the 35 mm and 50 mm primes? I'm torn between pairing my 20 mm f/1.8 lens with just a 24-70 mm f/2.8 or pairing it with both the 35 mm f/1.4 and 50 mm f/1.4 lenses instead.
I think when I need a bit extra light I’ll get the primes out, which happens ! Or if I know I’m going to only use 1-2 lenses on the day, the primes are smaller !
Thank you for the video. I’m not a video shooter but I am a Sony camera owner and actually have all these lenses or their updated GM II versions. Like your presentation. For fun you should add an honorable mention or for us still shooters identify a photo only lens you like to use but that might be your 50/1.2 GM. For me it’s the FE 135/1.8 GM. Take care.

True! "best" does not rhyme well with cheap, when it comes to Sony lenses. Since I picked 20-70 F4 G, my 20mm F1.8 has been in the bag for quite some time. I sold my 24-70 F2.8 GM after I got Tamron 35-150mm F2-2.8 However, the unrivalled lens so far is 35mm F1.4 and 50mm F1.2, they truly shine in the low-light. I use a two-camera system, ZV-E1 is permanently paired with 20-70 F4 and α7 IV is flexible. The only one I am missing is 85mm and I waiting to see if there will be a second generation with faster autofocus (and perhaps with F1.2, imagine that!)

Great picks! I own the 24-70 GM II, do you have the original GM or the GM II? I think my next lens will be a 50mm 1.4 as I need a fast one and I like 50mm, it is not too wide. That is the thing I loved with my GH5 and SIgma 18-35, it was never really that wide, even at 18mm because of the sensor, but I feel like even 24mm on the A7S III is a bit too wide for my taste. I am interested in the 35mm too tho. Do you know if there exists a lens closer to 45mm?

Awesome video Kofi! The video what I needed, although I do have one question... Currently I own 4 lenses (3 zooms, the holy trinity - not all GMs) and the 35 GM, but I am really thinking to either get a 20mm G lens compare with the 35 GM or sell the 35 GM and get a 24mm GM with a 50 GM (1.4). Let me know which one would be more beneficial as a video shooter... or maybe a 20&50mm combo... Thanks ;) Ps: I have the 16-35 GM, the 24-70 Sigma and the 70-180 Tamron as my zooms.
@@KofiYeboah Appreciate the advice, but I actually went with the 20&35mm combo since I own the 35 GM and my FX3 crops in x1.2 (at least) if I turn on both the focus breathing compensation and the active stabilization, so I have a true 24mm with the 20 and a good 42mm with the 35mm. I can also use both lenses on my A7IV which has a super 35 crop (plus x1.5) in 4k60 so 20 becomes a 36mm with the other features turned on and my 35 turn into a 63mm lens... ridiculous, but that's how it is.
