This is the best I've seen you play on the channel Winston. He wasn't holding back and you managed to stay in the rallies. Mad respect, your game is on another level, compared to 6 months ago.
Damn Winston, this video really shows how much improvement you've had in the past few months!! All your ground strokes and serves are so much heavier and have more power, spin, and speed! At least compared to the older videos I watched a while back. Maybe its all that coaching from Karue!
It took me the whole video to realize this was clay thompson because he was playing so chill. THE LEGEND. THIS IS THE GUY WHO HAS A WICKED INSANE MULLET AND SCREAMS LOUDLY. I LOVE THIS GUY!!!!!! so cool that you played a set vs him. if you haven't seen videos of him playing you totally should take a look.
Winston out here leveling up every video! Defense at 10:10 was great! Backhands at 10:56 look super stable and balanced. This guy is no joke! Yet another entertaining matchup
I remember Bill Scanlon. Very nice pro player. NCAA singles champ in 1976 as well. Unfortunately he died in 2021. Shame. My belated condolences to Clay.
Huge respect for Clay's game, his experience and today's show. If you wanted to see Hercules play tennis, you just did today. Mad regards for Winston. You have huge potential man. Most of all, thanks for the sharing this content with us Winston. Cheers, M
Well ... that's probably the hardest serves we've seen in these videos of yours. Game 4 on interesting ... lol. I think some of those serves of Clay's were going to blow right through my screen.
So good of you, Winston, to take it easy on Clay in front of his wife and child. Seriously, though: good video. I thought you played really well given your opponent’s level. These videos are great, too, because they illustrate well the disparity between solid recreational players and the elite level, which serves as an important reminder to hacks like me who tend to fantasize after hitting the occasional “highlight reel” shot.
Really appreciate you saying this Clay. When I played competitively, it was very difficult to get players higher than my skill level. So much of my improvement came from the few players who would take time to play practice sets. Often you when play someone less than your skill level, it gives a perfect opportunity to practice three crucial things - Mental toughness, staying aggressive/accurate with many off-pace shots being returned, and lastly, those crucial volley and overhead skills for finishing points with high consistency. There is benefit to mixing up skill level practice. Hope more people are open to it.
I haven't watched your match play in a little bit, damn Winston you've upgraded, all your work is paying off, strokes are looking much improved! Kudos!
You guys are bringing back my memories (trauma) of junior USTA tennis. In the sectional tournaments I would always be up against a high seed or national level player! I wish as a young kid I had the presence of mind to just stay within myself and redirect! Winston did a great job nonetheless. Just reacting you see his shots are more in the middle and Clay was peppering all corners with good margin. Even at a slower pace if we used the angles to our advantage results would be even better. Hard to believe that when stuff’s coming at ya at blinding speed lol
Great content as always Winston. Clay's serve and forehand were incredible. Tough for you to match up with, but you really played well! Your backhand was SO solid. It is great to see you hitting that shot instead of running around it. You also put away some tough volleys when you came forward. Your improvement lately has been impressive. Keep it up!
I think you have improved greatly. Your opponent is a very serious player, and regardless he won most of the points you could managed to stay in the rallies! Well done! By the way, it’d be a very interesting match to watch this guy against Karue
Clearly, Clay is a fantastic player, but I have to say that I was super impressed with your retrieving skills, Winston! You have always moved well, but against a guy who hits this cleanly and powerfully it's still impressive. Clay's serve looks frightening, btw 😀
Great entertainment but also the best ive seen you play! Its true that playing people better than yourself (no matter the sport) helps raise your level!!
I really enjoyed watching this. Clay is a great player and Winston is very good too. It was fun watching how a very good player fares against a great player. Not well.
You may have lost the match and almost all the points played against Clay, but I still find impressive that you hang on in there against a former pro. You exchanged a lot of balls and made some really good rallies, that's impressive and shows how much improvement you had. And the points you got, all of them were well earned. You played with the right intention all the way throughout the match.
Wow Wins! In front I thaught you will barely get a foot in the exchanges, but you did so good! A lot of improvement since those older Vids. Especially how you returned those serves. I mean this guy plays like a pro. Good game
It’s the diadora shoes and high socks that’s made you move better 😝 lol hi but very much improved! His serves looked crazy good… but I agree with him at the end. Consistency would be a good take away from a match like this… especially when you’re being out hit, not really in control of the points, and through out the match. Great content, keep it up 👏🏼🔥
You did really well, especially those flat backhands that he was struggling with. You also seemed to be more successful when you took a risk and moved in. It paid off the few times you did it
I’ve played this handicap many many times, and 0-30 is roughly equal at a 3.0 UTR gap. IMO Clay is still a 13.0, and id guess right now you're about an 8.2-8.4, so as expected it was challenging. I’m roughly a 7.5, I play an 11.75 at 0-30 and I’ve won about 4 of 150 sets, most are 3-6. But I think it’s more interesting to do 0-30 than give alleys or use a padel, fun for both players. Keep up the good work man, you've improved a lot in the last year.
Tell your buddy it appears his strings are strung so loose, it may affect drop shots. What do I know. That tennis killer would chop me up in 10 minutes.
I briefly played club tennis with someone who played HS tennis in the same area as Steve Johnson. His hilarious comment was that going ad-up in a single game was "the greatest moment of his life". Alas, he failed to cash it in, but for a brief moment he was almost there.
This guy has an unorthodox two handed backhand, short swing but it fits well on his type of game. Close to the baseline, using opponents strike force to generate his own... like hitting a wall... Interesting...
Backhand held up nicely and the footwork is so much better. Looking way more fluid all around! 💪🏻💪🏻
And seems the higher sox are here to stay too! 😃
This is the best I've seen you play on the channel Winston. He wasn't holding back and you managed to stay in the rallies. Mad respect, your game is on another level, compared to 6 months ago.
Yo this guy had the most entertaining on court antics, look him up!
4.0 antics at BEST
Cocaine .... is a helluva drug ... 🤣
The “pelvic thrust”. Oh yeah.
12:48 "Don't discriminate who you are playing against, just try to beat him as badly as you can."
I absolutely love this play2win mentality.
Damn Winston, this video really shows how much improvement you've had in the past few months!! All your ground strokes and serves are so much heavier and have more power, spin, and speed! At least compared to the older videos I watched a while back. Maybe its all that coaching from Karue!

Another banger 🔥🔥
Winston out here leveling up every video! Defense at 10:10 was great! Backhands at 10:56 look super stable and balanced. This guy is no joke! Yet another entertaining matchup
Every time I watch one of his videos I feel like he's getting noticeably better.
It's funny, I stopped after this exact point because I wanted to see the comments, Winston yas improved so much.
I remember Bill Scanlon. Very nice pro player. NCAA singles champ in 1976 as well. Unfortunately he died in 2021. Shame. My belated condolences to Clay.
Winston returned Clay's serves really good. Clay has a lot of spin on his forehands and his serve is a beast.
Huge respect for Clay's game, his experience and today's show. If you wanted to see Hercules play tennis, you just did today.
Mad regards for Winston. You have huge potential man.
Most of all, thanks for the sharing this content with us Winston.
Cheers,
M
That was beautiful to watch. Amazing power and control with clay but great to see how you got better.
Well ... that's probably the hardest serves we've seen in these videos of yours. Game 4 on interesting ... lol. I think some of those serves of Clay's were going to blow right through my screen.
Mad props Winston. Clay is a hammer and you faced him head on. Most of us would crap our pants staring down that serve. Well done man!
Channel is quickly becoming my new favorite , keep it up !
Winston, nice backhands!! Great guy Clay, very humble on playing a lower level player. Not a lot of higher levels are as humbles These guys are.
Winston had some great strokes, looks like the backhand has improved here.
One of the best elements I noticed was how quick Clays feet danced around!
Really appreciate you saying this Clay. When I played competitively, it was very difficult to get players higher than my skill level. U r getting better Winston. Big improvement.
Wow, awesome! Congrats for hanging in with Clay as much as you did.
Winston is getting really good!
I haven't watched your match play in a little bit, damn Winston you've upgraded, all your work is paying off, strokes are looking much improved! Kudos!
Clay is just a beast, he has been 6' 3" since he was 10 years old.. imagine playing a grown man at 10.. shit was scary. Hope all is well buddy
wth, haven't been on your channel recently and your groundstrokes seem to be on another level. It's pretty shocking tbh. Nice work!!!
I love his dry humor. Excellent match
Great watch. I love seeing us regular players challenging pros!! Thanks for giving us a shot.
6:42 Geez. Wow.
6:57. This one hurt my soul after two good forehands.
10:58 Great backhands.
11:35 Very nice.
That dude is legit. Does not make unforced errors
Made em work for that point starting at 10:12 . Great defense! Enjoyed the match
Ngl you played amazing, way better than a few months ago!
Nice! Can we see you play some 5.0 players in upcoming videos? It’s so much fun to watch you hit so much harder and better
You guys are bringing back my memories (trauma) of junior USTA tennis. In the sectional tournaments I would always be up against a high seed or national level player! This guy is so so humble 😮😮😮
I remember Clay!!! He idolized Del Potro -- or something. Gosh, crazy how the years have passed.
This is the best match I've seen on your channel. Clay is a beast!
Great content as always Winston. Clay's serve and forehand were incredible. Tough for you to match up with, but you really played well! Your backhand was SO solid. Winston, you have improved a lot. Well done! Nice to see Clay loving the game too

By the way, it’d be a very interesting match to watch this guy against Karue
These videos are great. I am glad Clay played hard to show how much better a high ranked player is than a typical 4.5 player.
Clearly, Clay is a fantastic player, but I have to say that I was super impressed with your retrieving skills, Winston! You have always moved well, but against a guy who hits this cleanly and powerfully it's still impressive.
Clay's serve looks frightening, btw 😀
amazing , good job both of you
I'm so proud of you Winston!! You held and played perfectly against him 🔥🔥
Best playing yet Winston!!! On fire!
Great entertainment but also the best ive seen you play! Its true that playing people better than yourself (no matter the sport) helps raise your level!!
Thoroughly enjoyed this
Dude great playing either way. Dude was a beast and I’d be happy to keep up as well as you did!
amazing playing from clay. great footwork!
I really enjoyed watching this. Clay is a great player and Winston is very good too. It was fun watching how a very good player fares against a great player. Not well.

We fight! WE FIIIIIIGHT! -Clay Thompson
Wow Wins! In front I thaught you will barely get a foot in the exchanges, but you did so good! A lot of improvement since those older Vids. Especially how you returned those serves. I mean this guy plays like a pro. Good game
Winston my god you have improved. You are playing amazing tennis .
Great camera angle. You really see how hard the balls are being hit. You both are great players.
you played so well!!!! this guy was just too too good.
You can feel the heaviness in Clay’s shots. He has crazy control for stringing his racket at such a low tension(42).
It’s the diadora shoes and high socks that’s made you move better 😝 lol hi but very much improved! His serves looked crazy good… but I agree with him at the end. Consistency would be a good take away from a match like this… especially when you’re being out hit, not really in control of the points, and through out the match. Great content, keep it up 👏🏼🔥
Captain InClayno shows no mercy
I like your videos. May I know what gadget you use for recording? Thanks
Nice game. You play well with the pure aero 2023
Your backhand has improved so much Winston.
the guy just dont miss
Playing amazing tennis Winston! You kept up in a lot of those rallies with nice power and depth
Winston has improved a lot for sure. When you play players this good it's a treat.
Valiant effort Winston! There can be dignity in defeat.
Really nice point you played starting at the 5:32 mark. 👍
Wow I remember clay Thompson from his talk tennis warehouse forum days. Used a fxp prestige back then!
Clay makes the same noise serving as I do getting up out of bed in the morning!
It's not just impressive how Clay plays, but look at UFE. Played super clean. I know he wasn't going all out, but probably 80%.
This is the best player you’ve had in any video. He’s legit.
That's a big serve to handle, good job
not only is clay hella good at basketball but he's also cracked at tennis
Thompson is an impressive two-sport athlete. Great basketball player in addition to tennis, of course
Good vid. Enjoyed the watch
First! And the game is looking pretty great Winston!!! Very awesome!🎉
RUclips just suggested a video of Clay Playing. Hahaha... dude was funny.
I really like his attitude about just try to beat them as badly as you can. Haha
That backhand is looking great
Humble always
I just watched a Clay Thompson clip. Why is he so chill here? He was possesed when he was playing professionally lol.
You did really well, especially those flat backhands that he was struggling with. You also seemed to be more successful when you took a risk and moved in. It paid off the few times you did it
LOL. Beatdown. Clay is a seriously beefy guy.
You improved sooooo muxh
A massacre but....that serve and volley you did! Beautiful!
Melhor canal do RUclips.

Honestly the ex-pro only made 4 errors the entire set. Thats insane.
Clay 'The Slayer' Thompson...🤺🎾
Tell your buddy it appears his strings are strung so loose, it may affect drop shots. What do I know. That tennis killer would chop me up in 10 minutes.
both have really good foot movements
Winston, you played really well this time, I think you played one level up against Clay.
7:08 that natrual turn around of Clay is amazing.
Good spot. Yeah that's elite-level footwork, you don't see that on public courts often.
Awesome!
Winston you have improved so much its awesome for us to witness...if you want to beat up on an older 3.5, give me a shout.
Wow!
great effort by Winston
I briefly played club tennis with someone who played HS tennis in the same area as Steve Johnson. His hilarious comment was that going ad-up in a single game was "the greatest moment of his life". Alas, he failed to cash it in, but for a brief moment he was almost there.

Awesome match! Clay's forehand is a total PITA. 😜 I've been on the other end of it and let me tell you, ain't no fun.
