Your Next Ballpoint? [Pen ASMR]

- Relax as I show you the ballpoint gel pen that I recently acquired. I picked up this Zebra G-350 at a Target department store when I needed a pen to cross items off of the shopping list my wife had given me. The G-350 with its metal fabrication and smooth black finish is a pen of substance and lays down the ink smoothly and precisely, making the $7 price tag for a package of two pens and two extra refills well worth it. I will report back in a future video about my long-term experience with the Zebra G-350, but at the time of this video, I have been using it almost daily for two weeks and it has been reliable and a pleasure to write with.

This video was produced with relaxation in mind and hopefully has some ASMR qualities. Man, I remember those little plastic NFL helmets. You’d get them out of a gumball machine! My dad used to bring me one every night when he got home from work. It was 1986…I remember because I had every team and each week I’d do my own “power rankings” on our mantle and it was the year the Giants won the SuperBowl.
That’s a really great memory. Those are the kinds of things you never forget.

I had these aswell but with the 2000's helmets, I remember lining them up and running plays with them. I totally forgot I used to do this untik you brought it up
I’m the 90’s they had helmets and mugs. My dad is a huge cowboys fan and he had so many of them haha. I forgot all about those things until I read your comment.
I had them in the 70’s when the Dolphins went undefeated, the Houston Oilers, Baltimore Colts, Saint Louis Cardinals, Oakland Raiders and the Washington Redskins were real teams. Nothing I like stays around very long anymore.
This is the type of stuff that always puts me to sleep intermediately, it's just so hypnotic.

No wayyy I watch all your videos and I always write with fountain pens but I've just, in the last few days, for the first time in years and years, wanted to try a ball point to carry round in my pocket for casual note taking. (Mostly for one handed use because I'm not a big fan of any retractable fountain pens yet). Crazy timing! thanks for the video :)

Personally I don't like when you don't talk in your videos, but, variety is always a good thing since there are likely those who enjoy those kinds of videos. Mostly I miss all the chore and maintenance videos though

*Before you start this video, take half of a second to hit the Like button and help him out.* It takes a lot of time, energy, creative thinking for new content topics, setup (lights, camera angle, etc.), editing and quiet time to make such a video. You don't 'have' to, of course...but if you believe in tipping your waiter, you should also tip your RUclips content providers. Unlike the waiter in a restaurant, it costs you nothing to hit the Like button and Subscribe button and turn on the notification bell to alert you to his new videos. I have seen a few comments in other videos where people say they 'don't like' his content and yet watch it, oddly enough. Never seen so many excuses to not click a button a couple of times. It takes 5 seconds to do both at the same time. Neighborhoods are noisy and sometimes if someone else is in the house or there are animals (I think he has at least one dog), it can be hard to keep everything quiet to make such a video. Many ASMRtists make repeat videos or meticulously edit videos for hours just to post a video that is 30 minutes to an hour long. If you aren't subscribed and like his content, there's really no reason not to subscribe. It costs nothing and his new videos will show up on your RUclips start page, as they do for mine. It's convenient and you don't have to go searching for new content. It also allows him to financially buy better equipment (cameras, microphones, lighting, etc.), which continually ages every time it is used.

Just a viewer who has enjoyed his content for years and would like to see him have more Likes and Subscribers for the quality content that he produces that is very relaxing and unique to many of us and we can't find it with most others making content.

I love the pilot g 2 Bold... I love them. Gotta be the bold ones though
Try the G-450. It's a higher quality version, I'd say better than the top line G-750 from that series. But as far as Zebra pens, the F-701 is the best value. It's entirely metal, and if you pop the plastic off the back you can have it work with Parker refills. They are about 6 dollars.

I remember I had a really nice expensive carbon fiber pressurized pen. Don’t recall the make or model, as it was a few years back. Someone at my school stole it from me, and wrote graffiti all over a concrete wall, and it basically destroyed the whole pen.

I noticed the same thing with my jotter. BTW, I think I have the regular size one, and I think I should have taken the XL now, cause it's quite thin and index and my thumb touch with each other when using it. I imgagine that if you have long nails then it would be imposible to use hahah...

Aah, disposable pens. They have so often been my catnip in life. Not sure why. I've met other people who share my penchant for office supplies. We're kindred spirits. Take me to Office Max, I'll browse the aisles almost all day, especially pens and markers. Take me to the art supply shop, you might as well bring a lunch for yourself and a magazine.
There are a few pens I like and that I use often. Some are classic, like the Flair Papermate. It's a trusty felt tip that is cool for doodling or taking notes or just writing a grocery list. The tip is really responsive to pressure or a light touch. They've been around forever. I order a box of 12 every once in a blue moon. For ball points, the current love is for Papermate Profile Elite, with its rubber grip. It is not perfect; each pen will do a fake "dry out" about five times over its life span. That drives me batty, because you just scribble in a circle for a few seconds and the ink flow revives ... it wasn't actually finished and ready for the trash bin. You can't see the entire ink supply inside the pen, so things are deceiving.
I haven't found a really satisfactory gel pen, because they all eventually begin to glop and gloop on the paper. People seem to adore the Pilot G2 Retractable Gel Pen. But they smudge. Doesn't matter what sort of paper you use. You end up like Charlie Brown when he would write a letter to his Pen Pal. :D
It's funny. You would think pencils would float my boat too, but not so much.
I used to to prize the g2 pens growing up but the older I got the more I've liked ball point pens especially the cheap ones and the papermate profiles

Football Team is a placeholder, not a final name. I think a couple months ago Washington came out and said they narrowed down the possible names to 8 for the next season or season after.
I think they had a name but couldn't use it immediately because of legal issues.

As a Washington fan, I hate it. I understand why they changed it, but as you said there were so many different possibilities. They’re supposed to announce the new name and mascot in early 2022.

Can you recommend a very fine ballpoint? I have had some decent ones that always start writing poorly about 1/4 of the way thru the ink.. they never last. I have to write small at work!

uni-ball makes a very fine point gel pen (.38mm) that still writes very smoothly, but if you don't wanna order online you may be able to find a pilot G2 in the same .38 size in a store
another option is the pilot hi-tec-c, teeny tiny .25mm point! the .3 version writes smoother though. :-)
@@edenthearcane I ordered the uni-ball signo 307 micro. 0.38 size! I heard it's much better than g2. I had the g2 38s and they kept dying. And wrote really scratchy on the paper... Thank you I was browsing reddit after making this comment! 😂

Mr Relaxing ASMR--I just HAD to write a comment and feedback to you. I only discovered "ASMR" and youtube videos of the sort about 3 weeks ago. So I guess you could call me a "virginal neophyte" when it comes to this phenomena. I don't sleep well, and try many things to help my situation out. Needless to say, a "ASMR" video came across my phone's youtube feed 3 weeks ago. Ever since, I have been seeking these type videos out, and gone through numerous channels and types. I have to tell you, that Nothing I discovered actually really worked for me in producing actual true relaxed state or actual induced sleepiness. I guess I discovered through trial and error about the many ASMR video channels and offerings. I'm sure you are well aware that there is a large gamut of one would call "ASMR". YOUR offerings( and I post here on this video because it was the first of yours that I ever stumbled upon) actually DO work for me. I have never experienced a truly discernable "tingle"( lol--sorry but that does make me chuckle) in any of these( including yours), BUT,....your videos do captivate me and do induce a very tranquil peaceful state. Your entire "way" of doing things here are proving valuable and interesting to say the least.. Your patience, meticulous attention to detail, your hobbylike nostalgic subjects, and of course, your Voice, does have a true effect on my being( especially when trying to get to sleep). I realize that everyone is different, but your channel and videos, are the Only ones that have actually worked for me. I want to Thank You for your efforts. They are proving very worthy, and I'm excited that you have almost 9 years of stuff to catch up on and investigate. On the lighter side...I never ever thought about buying a fountain pen in my life, but Now you have really piqued my curiosity. You deserve that "Mont Blanc 149" you always wanted!!!!! Btw--Yes--I reached the "Atlanta Braves" and the "Dan G?" formula one racer Codes at the end of a couple of your videos. lol! Hey, I wanted to buy one of these Parker Jotters but I’ve been “spooked” since you said the refills don’t fit very well. Any advice?
Well, I can only speak for my pen, but the hole in the tip of the pen seems to be a tad larger than it needs to be, thus allowing the refill to wiggle a little. Pen writes great and feels great, but personally I don't like that little bit of extra movement of the writing tip as I write. I imagine many folks might not be bothered by it though. I have thought about getting another, in a different color of course, just to see if it is the same way. A better idea would be for you to get it and report back LOL!! Just kidding of course. I plan to pick up one more and see for myself if it is the same way and will let everyone know what I find out.
Try out zebra fortia 300 or the sarasa line good brand of pens
