My grandparents had a Grandfather clock. I used to spend summers with them and couldn't fall asleep for a couple of weeks after coming back home to my parents.
I've never seen an American world map before. It's... unusual looking, to say the least. I suppose the Euro-centric one conveniently can place the border down the Bering Strait, keeping things neat.
To be fair, most American maps are Eurocentric. This map looks to be pretty dated, but growing up in American public schools, the left border of the map always cut through the Bering Strait
For white balancing, you can get an 18% grey card or calibrated chip chart pretty inexpensively online now. We still use them in film production. Thanks for the great video, you should be on the map as a National Treasure!
I'm sure that the inescapable presence of technology has something to do with the soaring popularity of fountain pens among young people. It helps make boring computer desk jobs a little more exciting and personal.
As a Canadian I always forget how weird American world maps are. It's odd to me that the designers often cut Asia in half when the point of those maps is to study the land masses. Anyway relaxing as always, thank you.
Based on xkcd’s guide to map dating, this one is from somewhere between 1997 (Hong Kong isn’t listed as part of the UK) and 2006 (Serbia and Montenegro are shown as a single country). You can get more specific if Timor Leste is or isn’t on there
Penmanship is a long lost art due to electronic technology except maybe for calligrapher. I first heard and read about penmanship in the Studs Lonigan Trilogy (1930) by James T. Farrell. He mentioned something called the Palmer method.
I agree, but not very uncommon. In Europe you have Europe in the middle, and when I wnet to Japan they had Japan as the center of the map. Felt weird to me, completely normal to them. xD
South Sudan isn't present on the map meaning it is older than 2011, and if kosovo is also not there it means older than 2008 however I am unable to see if kosovo is present
Most Maps i own haveAfrica and Europe slightly to the right and the Atlantic Ocean in the center. Idk if it’s maybe just older maps with America being in the center or not.
i'm at a 2 year old video trying to guess the map date lol. i see that's it's russia and not the USSR so 1991-2023, i see sudan is whole so 1991-2007, i see the the international date line doesn't include kiribati yet so 1991-1995, i see eritrea so may 24th 1993-january 1st 1995, can't get a good like at israel or some surrounding island in south africa but i'm positive this map dates back to May 24th, 1993-January 1st, 1995
Treasure any of these videos with cursive writing. Sadly, within the next 50 years or so, cursive will gradually become a thing of the past as it's not taught in school anymore. Obviously, the move to computers accelerates the process.
One of the most relaxing voices out there. Not only helps me sleep, but helps me calm my mind in general.
@bbtank3000 I agree, RelaxingASMR definitely deserves way more subscribers than what he currently has.
Amen
Never heard of his channel and it popped up and saw you comment and had to see for myself and I couldn’t agree more. What a gem I found!
He is very pleasant to listen to.
Please do more where you take things apart and fix things I love how ur so meticulous with everything
And do more disassembly repair and reassembly videos please.
I think that the clock is a fantastic addition, and wouldn’t want you to remove it. Loud clocks are incredibly relaxing IMO
Your videos are life savers. Very relaxing to watch after a hectic day's work.
That clock is so relaxing
My grandparents had a Grandfather clock. I used to spend summers with them and couldn't fall asleep for a couple of weeks after coming back home to my parents.
I shall never tire of this man
Can I just say that I love the clock ticking in the background. Wonderful video man
Thanks you. Glad you liked it:)
You should do more restoration videos, I enjoy seeing your craft while hearing you talk about it’s history
I’ve seen this video a hundred times, it never gets old
It’s honestly very impressive that you can write that well and consistently even with your eyes closed, crazy to be honest, yet awesome 👏🏼 💯
fantastic video! I love the one hour slots so much, perfect length to wind down and snooze to
You’re clearly one of the best ASMR artist! Thank you for being who you are and for the content you produce! Much appreciation from Portugal 🇵🇹😊
I agree! THE best!
I love these videos where you just do what you normally do, except with a camera
yeah me too
What a relaxing experience this was... I mean, I assume. I was only awake for the first 20 minutes or so lol
As an italian i find it funny seeing america in the middle of the map
The clock on my wall is ticking a half second behind the one in your video😁 so relaxing😴😴
I've never seen an American world map before. It's... unusual looking, to say the least. I suppose the Euro-centric one conveniently can place the border down the Bering Strait, keeping things neat.
im more used to one where it cuts off at the Kamchatka peninsula, but the bering strait would definitely make more sense
I don’t think it’s just an America thing, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a world map ‘positioned’ like that.
Yeah it's fully US centered, so not even "mercator-just-moved-over-along-the-equator"
Makes the Pacific Ocean look teeny tiny
To be fair, most American maps are Eurocentric. This map looks to be pretty dated, but growing up in American public schools, the left border of the map always cut through the Bering Strait
You are also looking at a Walmart made map. If you don’t know what a Walmart is, just know you’re missing out.
Good handwriting and don’t move the clock. It is relaxing.

I thought the volume of the clock was perfect. A really nice and relaxing slow constant noise
I wish the UK was as big as the states the national parks are so much larger in america
How is this top comment with 3 likes
I love the title. Such a good movie.
51:35 loooooool
This is wholesome
I used to do ASMR with my toy cars when I was a kid before I even knew what it was!
So relaxing. Especially talking about my state mostly.
Hello and greetings from Finland. You always make such great videos👍
Hello to all in Finland. Glad you like the videos Keijo.
That map is from sometime between 1991 (fall of the USSR) and 2012 (Sudan split in half)
If anyone can narrow it down more that would be cool
It’s 2008 or before because that’s when they changed their logo🤷🏻♂️
1997. Bottom right on the map has the copyright year.
Bottom right, under Africa
ONE HOUR VIDEO WITH PENS AND BEER?!? Take my money.
The map is pre 2012 because south Sudan dosent exist yet but is post 1991 because the Soviet union is gone and Germany is reunified.
Some of the best ASMR videos on RUclips....
14:28-14:30 you can hear a vibration by a message or a notification
I saw a caliper in the thumbnail and I click where are my fellow machinists at?
O/ (Fellow CNC Machinist Here!) Cheers.
One here too. CNC Swiss machines, but I still know my way around manual lathes and mills.
Very relaxing

That's actually the archipelago of Wal-Mart.
As a Canadian I always forget how weird American world maps are. It's odd to me that the designers often cut Asia in half when the point of those maps is to study the land masses.
Anyway relaxing as always, thank you.
That maps so old it has Canada divided by French/British territory
As an American, they're pretty rare in my experience. They're also ridiculous.
I’m American and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a map with America in the center like that, it struck me as off too, doesn’t make a lot of sense
I want you to know, I blame you for my new found Love of Fountain Pens. You are one of my favorite ASMRtists.
If you like fountain pens you should check out Peter Draws on RUclips
Thanks Brandon
Funny 😊
I was so excited for you to point out home (Australia) on the map. You absolutely teased us with the hovering pencil 😆. Love your videos 💕
I once spilled a bottle of Noodler's Summer Tanager. Such a waste of gorgeous ink!
thank you
3:02 Yeah!!! My wife’s from the Philippines! Bye the way I’m just across the pond in the u.k. sir!
Perfect timing!
great video! very relaxing, keep it up.
Your videos are very relaxing ❤️
Perfect timing, laying in bed, cant sleep and then i see this notification

Someone wealthy send this man a Mont Blanc 149.
thats cool, i will take one million thousand beer please
I listen from Russia and before from USA
Best yet! Authentic!!! Felt like I was hanging out with someone, in a dark moment
I am Verry Enjoyed This Content
I agree with this
I generally don’t listen to any male asmr RUclipsrs. This channel, has gotten me into pens and chilling.
Cheers 🍻
Cheers!
Love this 😊
Glad you’re back!
Plot twist: His name actually is Summer and he's done this to throw us off track haha
Please do toy ship restoration version 2 🙏
Certainly will if the opportunity presents itself:)
So happy to see a video from you. I love your content. Thank you for sharing with all of us
Thx for this Vid extra for us :)
I imagine the guy who does these videos to look like the old guy from Up.
Listening while looking up Mont blanc pen prices 😮 😱
Just wanted to let you know that I live in Denmark, Scandinavia 🇩🇰
Very nice i like it

All the best rolled in to 1 👍🏻
Whats wrong with that map? Why is eurasia divided and not longitude 0 in the middle?
There’s a date in the lower right, copyright info. Looks like 1997?
This is really creative, congrats 😉
Glad you're back ! I miss hearing your dog scratching at the door :) .
Oh how I too miss hearing that. Not a day goes by where I don't think of that little guy.
@El Macho Trump can you guess?
Puppers are the best
Actually United States is enourmous. Driving 300-400 km here in Finland feels a long trip but compared that to US map and it's nothing.
Yes
IT's kinda weird this map has the Americas in the very middle, chopping the eastern countries in half
I agree, but not very uncommon. In Europe you have Europe in the middle, and when I wnet to Japan they had Japan as the center of the map. Felt weird to me, completely normal to them. xD
@@solstickan That does sorta make sense, I just like the typical ones we have here, they seem more inclusive for everyone.
Tinker!
Hello World !
Hello from SoCal!
Mont Blanc 149 = 905.00 I wouldn't have one either!
Murica
South Sudan isn't present on the map meaning it is older than 2011, and if kosovo is also not there it means older than 2008 however I am unable to see if kosovo is present
I wonder if anyone has ever actually had an Albatross around their neck?
Today I learned American maps have America in the centre and I feel kinda dumb for assuming every map had Europe in the center 🙃
Most Maps i own haveAfrica and Europe slightly to the right and the Atlantic Ocean in the center. Idk if it’s maybe just older maps with America being in the center or not.
Most maps I know are centered around the Atlantic
So weird looking at your maps as I’m from uk. Keep forgetting everyone has their continent roughly in the centre.
Lmao driving across America
Oh my gosh this map cuts out india! And other countries near it. That's more than 1.5 billion people! 😅😅
Mont Blanc 149....$950.
American maps...
The ink spill looks like a semi-colon.
This map is from 1997.
I love your videos, but that ticking is much too fast to be a proper second. I can’t not think about ittttttt
have you done a face reveal? if so, where can I find it? I would like to know what the face of the man who calms me down all the time looks like 🤗!
I don't think he has. He likes to keep that part of his life private, which I can understand.
@@benjaminrobinson7203 understandable yeah

Very perceptive:)
If there's only 1 Sudan in Africa, and no South Sudan, then the map is from before 2012
The world keeps on turning. Haha I love old maps. It’s always fun to see how things change.

I think your name starts with a J because of how you wrote in the air lol
99.
New video on the gaming channel soon?
Possibly this weekend.
