That ticking clock in the background is the best. I forget how relaxing analog clocks can be. Also, I appreciate your manicured nails. They add a touch of class even though it’s subtle.
*The Atlanta Braves* Love this video! As a Scottish animator and illustrator from Edinburgh… I couldn’t sleep. As I am also fountain pen obsessed (a fascination nurtured by my late-grandfather), subsequently this video didn’t cure my insomnia 😂 instead I jumped straight into purchasing the Amber Jinhao 200. I also loved your movie choices. I would have added Laurence Of Arabia on that list, as well as Hitchcock’s ‘Rear Window’ (Another Jimmy Stewart classic). Take Care Relaxing ASMR. Blessings from across the pond!
I bought a fountain pen, black ink to that, a glass dip pen and emerald coloured dip ink as a christmas present to myself. I enjoy your fountain pen content so much that I had to get something "better" to write and draw with! I plan on improving my hand writing skills while I'm at it.
As an artist and illustrator, I'd be interested in starting a collection of my own of these types of pens. Thanks for the relaxing and informative video.
There’s something really soothing about hearing the same content from you concerning manners around ink, and mechanisms of the fountain pen. It reminds me of spending time with my father in law who reliably repeats the same puns and euphemisms each time we visit. (update: The Atlanta Braves)
Just found your channel. Didn’t know pens had all these quirks to them as I’m just a college student trying to get by. Love your work fell asleep and woke up so energized!
The Atlanta Braves ! I always watch each video in its' entirety .... they are wonderful and you are frankly one of the best asmr content creators on the PLANET . Period ! Please keep up the sterling work !
Hey R! I am also a patron of yours in patreon. I just wanted to let you know, that I've watched this video for the second time now, and thought I should mention the Atlanta Braves. :) No, what I actually wanted to tell you is that I do fall asleep to your videos and that's certainly not out of boredom, but more because of the soothness (is that the correct noun of soothing?) of your videos. Your voice and the tinkering with your pens, cards, etc. behind your desk always just relax me so much!
THE ATLANTA BRAVES. Good stuff, as usual. Wonderful change from the Noisy Automotive repair shops that have been my world (40 -45 hours/week anyway) for the last 36 years. Keep at it!
Always love when you put out a new vid - I love knowing you’re ok and doing well, and having something new to rest to. Been following you a long time now and thankful for all you do. Also, you now got me wanting to get some of these pens. Never owned a fountain pen before so I’m thinking I’d like to buy one and try one out. Definitely nothing wrong with being more like Mr. RelaxingASMR.
I often fall asleep to your calming videos. But it doesn't work for the Pen videos. They're way too interesting! I can't sleep -- I have to hear everything. :)
The Atlanta Braves Your videos are very relaxing, but also interesting... so I don't fall asleep. Citizen Kane is a great movie... a good story, IMO. But I think a lot of people miss its message, regarding life and the pursuit of happiness.
Thank you for the video. I see others have said that they enjoy the clock, but I can't relax with a ticking clock for some reason. I only bring it up because I've noticed it in another recent video. I do enjoy your magnificent content. Thought I'd share an opposing viewpoint about the clock. But you do you!
It’s a wonderful life and rebel without a cause are my two all time favorite movies. I thought it was so crazy that you wrote them lol. Wonderful video. Subscribed.
I like your videos. Your voice is just right. I listen to soothe my mind while I work. Then unfortunately you force me to procrastinate, as I have zoned out during your interesting stories and have to rewind!! Lol
Hey I enjoy your videos very much. I just wanted to let you know that. Your patient and soft spoken demeanor always relaxes me. Your videos help me very much. Thank you and God Bless. "The Atlanta Braves"
It took me several viewings to finish the whole video, but I finally made it to the part where you were talking about the Atlanta Braves. You kept lulling me to sleep, not because it was boring like you said, but because it was relaxing :) Love your pen videos. You keep reminding me how much I enjoy fountain pens. I’m a fan of jinhao pens in general, due to the quality you get for the value. I wouldn’t mind seeing a video of your favorite budget pens, probably with some history lesson or other knowledge and wisdom sprinkled in
Love your videos. I'm also a massive Parker fan. Looking at ordering the Parker XL after seeing your videos as I have big hands and thicker pens feel comfortable. Love the content thank you
Goodness, now you've got me wanting to try writing with a fountain pen. A very interesting video, Sir! Didn't put me to sleep, but very relaxing and enjoyable because of that.🙂
From watching your videos I actually bought myself a jinhao 51a and this pen is THEE best pen I've ever used i got the amber black version with Waterman's black ink and my dad's also bought the same pen thank you
I recently bought a restored and pretty inexpensive Wearever fountain pen from ebay. Its a really neat pen with the bladder, lever and all. I'm not sure if you happen to have one or not but I was wondering if you could do a review on a Wearever pen. Thank you for your content. For years now you inspired me. Not just with starting a hobbie with fountain pens and see how they really are works of art but also, having a better approach with life. You're a good person, it's pretty clear to see that. I appreciate you.
I appreciate your kind words Robert. Thanks for hanging around for all this time. As for the Wearever fountain pens, would you believe the most special fountain pen I have is an old beat-up Wherever pen. It was my dad's pen when he was young. Below is a link to the video that features that pen. ruclips.net/video/BmZlSGoh5oo/видео.html
I'm kinda starting with fountain pens and I found it really comfortable and free to write with them. Started with a Parker from my dad, and then I got a Lamy Nexx, and now a Lamy Vista and a Parker I got as a gift. As I am a student and need a quick change of ink I rrally like the variety of cartridges that Lamy and Kaweco have here where I live, sadly Parker only have blue/black. Nice vid, man!
The secret phrase... the Braves, eh? I don't watch baseball anymore, but in Japan where I live baseball is uber-popular, possibly even more than in the States. Of course everyone here is currently obsessed with Ohtani. But anyway, I stumbled upon this and I was listening as I did my work today. I also like fountain pens. I'm impressed with Jinhao. They used to be the normal low-quality you might expect from cheap Chinese brands, but they keep improving with every pen to the point where in some ways they rival the quality brands. The latest revisions of the 100 (the 100a, I think) are really impressive.
Keep up the great work! I’ve been in the asmr community for around 20 years now even before it took off, you’re doing a great job. Keep making content!
Well, The Atlanta Braves, here I am. "I may have bored you into deep sleep" please, I suddenly love fountain pens and I got too curious on the bargain and ink flow. I would definitely buy a hoodie with a pen on it!

The Atlanta Braves. I don't follow baseball, but I would follow you anywhere😄. I would like to know what you write to be able to use that many fountain pens. So many of us are writing a lot less due to electronic communication.
Also, another question. I bought a fountain pen online. It wrote a little at first but shortly afterwards the ink stopped flowing. There was plenty of ink left. I used it on watercolor cotton paper. Do you think it could be.that the fibers clogged the nib? Is there a pen you recommend for using along with watercolor? I love the combination of the line work and watercolor together. Take care!
Thanks for the kind words Theresa,
Funny thing about fountain pens is that they can dry out if not used often enough, especially vintage fountain pens. Yes, I believe nibs can become clogged from being used on very fibrous papers.
These days I rarely have more than 2 pens inked at any given time and because I do use them almost daily, seldom have drying issues, especially with pens that have caps that seal well. It's been a while since I made this video, but I believe the pens featured in this video have caps that seal well. Other pens that I recall that seal well are Platinum Plasir, almost any TWSBI, Pilot Metropolitain, and so many others.
You might consider a glass dip pen for outlining your water colors. That way you can just rinse the pen like you would a brush and let it dry.
Thanks for your thoughtful response. I will try one of your pen suggestions 😊
