I lived in China for 5 years and fountain pen culture/appreciation is definitely alive and well there! As a teacher I received a lot of fancy pens as gifts, even though I've never been able to enjoy or appreciate them very much lol. I was even given a fancy glass pen on my final day at school before I returned to the US.
Use them to sign documents, I had a teacher that would use his super fancy pen to sign exams and homework, he was one of the best if not the best teacher I ever had
I love moving at your own time, it’s very relaxing, feel free to explore whatever is on your mind. I grew up right up the street from Parker Pen, the family name was on my HS, so I love those stories about your grandfather. Thanks!
Thanks for zooming in on the incredible detail of these pens. I've never seen a decorative Chinese fountain pen before so it was interesting being able to really observe the designs.
I had to start some of it over. I went to sleep at some point while you were filling it. Anyway…obviously the body is not celluloid. Most likely acrylic plastic like most other “resin” bodied pens in the modern age.
I adore how passionate you are about fountain pens & your other passions. You talk about them in such confidence, it's very enjoyable, even as one who isn't equally as interested in such as you are.
Whoooooooaaaaaa....I am obsessed with writing and the main reason I've stayed away from fountain pens is usually the better pens are more expensive... This is insane for that price
Dan Gurney rules! Much like your videos. Honestly, nothing beats you talking about and using pens. I love all your videos, but this style is my favourite. The deliberateness and knowledge exudes from you
When I was a kid, I remember being super excited when the latest issue of Car & Driver would arrive in the mailbox.... tearing open the brown paper wrapping. I get the same feeling when one of your videos arrives in my feed!
I always enjoy it tremendously when you include those history bits about Parker pen! Wonderfully calm video, goes perfect with my Sunday afternoon tea. :)
Dan Gurney rules!! A problem I have is, your videos are so relaxing I love to fall asleep to them, but some of them are so interesting I actually want to listen and learn about the topic. You're making me want to start into the fountain pen scene and this Jinhao seems like a super nice starter! Thanks so much for your hard work and dedication!
Glad you like the videos. If you are the least bit curious about fountain pens, this would be an excellent pen to test the waters with. For that matter, it would probably be an excellent pen if one pen was all you ever intended on getting. Thanks for taking a moment to comment:)
I stayed awake till the end, just because this video was so relaxing AND interesting. It’s this combination of tranquillity, interesting content, picture and sound quality and the soothing voice that make this channel one of the best in asmr world. Just keep making video’s like this and you keep making people happy 😃
This honestly became one of my favorite pens in my collection, thank you so much for this video! It's in my backpack daily for college classes and I keep it inked up with Noodler's Zhivago so it's dark enough to pass for black but we both know its actually a green
I can’t really tell ya how long I’ve been watching you for, but I remember vividly stumbling across one of your Minecraft videos and couldn’t stop watching since then (been around 3-4 years).
I stayed until the end of the video. I love this beautiful pens and the way you talk.. Is hard to not fall asleep but i love to see the pens xD Your channel is one of the best asmr channels! Thank!
Enjoyed your video very much Dan. Your pace is perfect and relaxing. Thank you for sharing your beautiful pen collection! Love the classic race car also. That's the kind of stuff I like collecting. :)
Man I haven’t seen your videos around for a while! Glad I’m watching them again! Always enjoyed every video! Especially the one with the staining and painting of the fountain pen cases you did years back!🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
It just hit me that I'm left handed lol. I ordered a couple of Jinhao pens and some Pilot ink. Any tips for left handed people? Also do you think we could get another video showcasing your ink collection? Thank you for what you do!
I thought the pace was perfect, we enjoy relaxing right along with you! Love seeing all those cool old Parker pens and the newer Chinese offerings too. By the way, Dan Gurney rules!
Maybe some are bored, but I love your videos. I have been trying to get into fountain pens for years, and I enjoy the combination of learning about them, while ASMR relaxing. Keep up the great work! Not boring at all IMO.
CF&I (Colorado Fuel and Iron) purchased the John A. Roebling Steel Company, located in Trenton and Kinkora (Roebling), New Jersey. Roebling made wire rope used in the construction of suspension bridges.
different nib on the dragon, in the 100 is the normal nib (the same of the 450 and 750 for example). dragon's nib is a very good nib, not so wet and smooth very well
Your videos inspired me to buy a good fountain pen and I'm new to the subject. It is normal that after lifting the nib, sometimes the first few millimeters of the next letter does not get inked. This happens every 1-2 words and is somewhat fruststrating. I am still using the cartriged that was included in the pen, which might not be best ink quality. Ink is flowing without problem only when making continuous lines. Is this issue normal with fountain pens in genral? My pen is Ink V2 from Karas Pen Co.
36:30 yeah mines average too, I think bigger ones are way too much, right? Like something far smaller would be better, because actually average sized is way to big as well, like who needs that much haha? Right? Please.?
I have this exact Centennial and also love it! In fact, I loved the design so much (I know it's based off a Duofold but...eh) I brought the orange version with a Jinhao 14k nib.
I stayed until the end. Thank you for another great video I’ve been a fan of your channel for years. One question, what kind of desk do you have? I love the wood and have always wondered what your desk looked like as a whole.
I live fountain pens, but I use my left hand more to write, though I can write with both hands. Do you have any idea if you can get fountain pens like what you see in Tom and Jerry were they use to pick them up and move a lever and the ink would get sprayed out the nib? (Bit of a random question but it’s something I’ve often wondered about.)
Please Do videos on different topics and at least 1 hour of more than 1 hour. I am your one of the regular subscribers from past 7 years. I hope you would understand Thank you 😊
You should melt all your pens down into one pen and make more pen videos with just that one pen. That way it's different every time and as far as the audience is concerned it's never the same pen. 🤣
_ At about 47:00 you talk about changing to a stub nib. Where can one purchase the stub nib that you were showing in the video that will fit the Jinhao 100? Thank you.
The stub nib in the video was purchased from Goulet Pens. I did not see any for sale on their website a few minutes ago. Perhaps I overlooked it. You could also try Fountain Pen Revolution's website. I'll be installing one of theirs and trying it out in a video coming up in the future. I'm sure there are other sites you can order from also. Just search for #6 stub nibs.
Their pens are not bad. They do however come in a wide range of pricing, depending upon type and model. I like my ball tipped Pierre Cardin pens ok, and their cologne isn't half bad.

@@RelaxingASMR GO PACK GO lol
Gotta like the video early so you don't fall asleep and forget.
Just ordered a jinhao 100 for myself.
I wish I can grow old to be like you and enjoy small but amazing hobbies like yours. It feels like you appreciate small things in life.
Thanks David. For me, even the small things in life can be quite extraordinary when I really stop to think about them.

It makes me so happy to watch you doing your thing after all these years.

Have one of these for about 2 years now....This green is very nice. It's an excellent writer. Edit: in a medium nib, with Diamine Dark Forest.
I have one in cracked ice….i am afraid that it’s colour may fade away in few months?? is it true?? how good is the colour of your pen after 2 years?
