I just bought one and can honestly say I couldn't be happier, until I watch videos like this. Love the interior, the pleather seats, the multi media touch screen audio etc, the 20" wheels and on and on. But the thought of having major issues like this rents space in my head. I went to get my wife a 4runner (last year of the v6) and ended up w 2 vehicles. I rationalized my purchase by telling myself I can get another decade out of it like my last truck and here I am.
Everybody seems to forget all the valve spring total failures of the 5.7 V8 the first 2 1/2 years of production they will get it straightened out people ! At least they’re not like GM and Ford and never admit there’s a problem

I’ve been told to NEVER buy the first year of any new-generation vehicle. Bugs are worked out in later years. I got the 2023 TRD 4x4 OFF-ROAD with 33k miles. Heavy foot, runs great (and FAST). ☕️
If you'd like to backup your truck with the door open... Open the door, you'll hear the electronic e-brake engage, then hit the brake release switch. The e-brake will disengage and you can operate it as you have in the past with your door open.
Knowing about the recalls, i talked with the salesman who was helping me and I asked him about it. I said, what are you going to do for me if I decide to purchase this Truck (2024 Tundra)? He offered me a lifetime warranty on the transmission/Engine. I said then you have a buyer. Can't beat that offer ANYWHERE. That response is what I would expect from Toyota.
Going to get this truck. Simply due to the fact all the other trucks have major issues as well. I trust Toyota to stay solid to there customers over the other brands. Everything is going turbo and hybrid.
Just bought a 24 SR5 crewmax with no added packages, only add ons are spray on bed liner, floor mats, black emblem over lay. Im happy. Tint, running boards, bed cover. MAYBE wheels. I’m a Toyota team member at TMMK. Got a great deal. Issues seem to be lessening. 3k oil changes in the winter, 5k in the warm months. 90%+ highway driving. Cruise control is your best friend. Life time warranty on the engine/trans. In the couple days of owning it I have fall in LOVE with the truck. I have confidence in the truck and Toyota, God forbid something happen. I believe maintenance is a HUGE factor as well
I still have my 2003 Tundra Limited 4.7 V8 with a little over 431K miles on it. It use to be a vehicle for work and personal use for the fist 15 years. Now it’s just a work truck and sits three days out of the week, but still does 300 mile a week. It has a few scratches and dings but still is a race horse. I have the money to upgrade to one of these 3rd gen Tundras and even buy it cash, but I’m hearing so many stories of these Tundras having issues. Maybe I’ll wait to take mine to 1/2 million miles. I also have a 2018 1794 that tows my camping trailer on occasion. Awesome truck

Love my 2004 Sequoia 4WD. Simple, super reliable and cheap to maintain. Paid $4,000 for it in 2020. 188,000 miles and runs like a clock. Removed rear seats so use like a covered truck for utility and camping. I average 18-19 mpg.
Yes! Not sure if you saw my wife roll up during the end of this video in our 03 sequoia, but it is definitely more reliable than this truck! I probably will never sell it.
I did it and I absolutely love my pro. Traded in my 21 raptor and I do not miss that truck at all it had way to many issues and ford will never get my business again especially because of them not wanting to replace anything just super glue and try to repair everything instead of just replacing to part.

The problem with the engines was also real, but Toyota replaced 100 thousand engines at a loss, but this does not mean that they all broke, there was just a chance... I saw only a few cases on the Internet with real problems, and the rest are just bloggers talking about ... plus cars made in 2024 are no longer related to this, since the equipment manufacturers was replaced in Texas, which is why there was a scandal, don't worry and enjoy your car... but if anything, keep me informed 😀
Former mechanic. Manufacturing defects and recalls are issued on many new vehicles. It’s not odd or unusual. Major and minor issues happen. Like making a good movie, making a vehicle is very difficult. The manufacturer finds what the problem is, does a recall and the problem is corrected moving forward. To write off an entire vehicle seems stupid but stupid seems very par for course for 30 years old and below.
Toyota used to test to all ends to be sure there weren't any problems or recalls. Toyota become like the big three, put out junk and let time fix them.

I don't know your personal finance situation but with all of the current economical forces pushing against most middle-class families I have no idea how anybody can justify the cost of these trucks. Even if you're making $150k/yr the truck still accounts for 50% of your gross pay. An average house is $400k. At some point the camels back will break.
Its ridiculous, americans are consumers and always want the newest and greatest products, new phone every year, brand new vehicles with 6-7 year terms. Living with debt, its normal now to drowning in debt and people do it willingly. If people would buy off what they could actually afford everyone would be driving a 2008 toyota prius right now
Great video. I'm keeping my 2005 Sequoia, paid $20,000 for it back in 2008. I am currently looking for a newer, 2nd truck and have decided to switch back to Ford as my primary vehicle. It breaks my heart seeing the outrageous prices for 2021 and below Tundras. I don't want to pay $1000 a month and have to worry about the powertrain leaving me stranded. Figure it out Toyota!
I really liked this truck when I drove it. If Toyota does a proper fix on the engines (transmissions?), I may consider one. You are right, maybe they will be much more affordable if in a warranty repair state.

I'd still worry about the recall engine. I would expect the will remove and reinstall all components to new block. Will they pay mechanics enough to do it right?
I'm glad I buy for function instead of vanity. I miss the old great quality of Toyota. They weren't the prettiest but they lasted with little to no problems. I don't want all the technology or added junk. I'm good with cruise and air conditioning. Technology ruined my 2020 Camry. It was the biggest piece of junk I've ever owned and wanted to dump it after the first couple thousand miles. It ruined a 30 year trust of Toyota products.
i force max currently isn't included in the recall simply due to it being able to have a little bit of power after engine blows. The engine still does blow on the i force max. Supposively, the engine bearing parts were set to expire in april 2024 and replaced with new parts, which was supposively the "fix". Nobody knows for sure tho, only time will tell. I have a 2024 limited trd with no issues so far.
Lesson is buy nothing manufactured during covid 2020 to 2023. Supply issues etc effected everything from fridges to vehicles. Also since this video now the engines are going apparently.
I have the 2024 1794 Limited and so far so good. 2000 miles. I would not recommend the 22 or 23 for sure based on engine and granny issues. They are replacing over 100k motors.

2023 TRD Sport - my top mod(s) was to buy TRD Pro rims and TRD Pro Fox suspension as “take offs”. Truck sits just as a Pro would and drives awesome. Appreciated your honest review and agree with everything you brought up.
I just bought a 2024 r5 tdr and It has no recalls. so i'm guessing it has the new motor? it pulls very good. plenty of power pulling my 10,000 trialer with my 853 bobcat with steel tracks. I've had 25 plus trucks over the years and it seems majior issues like yours come up evrey few years with a small group being worse. All my fords but one had the trans go at 32,000. they rest i traded well over 200,000 miles. I mean work miles. all my dodges had trans rebuilt. stopped dealing with dodge. i have 2000 toyota tundr with 300,000 plus miles. the water pump is the only majior work done. of course this is why you should allways invest in a good serviceand warranty plan.
Bought a 2025 limited last week. I freaking love it runs great has lots of power after seeing this video im not sure whats gonna happen guess ill be waiting to hit the 25k miles see what happens. Its gives me 14 mpg in city and 19.2 on the interstate while my 2020 gave me 12 on the interstate and 9 in city Had a 2020 106k miles never had issues just swapped battery a couple months ago. Only reason why i traded it was due to my dogs trying to catch a cat insode the engine bay and ripped off the engine harness dealership said 8k for repair
Everyone telling me the same thing is supposed to have a warranty I think 30k miles they say they can fix it by either swapping a new one I’m not sure and I don’t do crazy hauling or anything maintenance is up to date so hopefully nothing bad happens is not the hybrid it’s the sr5 crew max 2024
Yes 2022 is when they changed to the new body style and engine. 2021's are solid machines with the 5.7L V8. Not so great on the wallet for gas, but very reliable compared to the 2022+
@@vettle1there is a video here on RUclips where they replaced the short block. The mechanic bore scoped the old block and found the burrs at the oil galley intersections inside the block. The evidence is conclusive.
I had a relative buy one recently.I recommended a Tacoma as I consider it the better truck potentially but they went out and got a tundra I was shocked I hope the truck works out for them Folks please stop buying trucks with pano roof and 14inch screens these don’t belong in trucks and it is either pricing the trucks out of reach for people that need them and or subtracting from the actual quality needed in a truck. In the ended one will end up with fully loaded weak sauce truck

I bought a new, factory lifted Tundra last Feb. absolutely loved the truck... the ride, the power, the towing, the engine. Out of fearing of it laying down on me at any inopportune moment, I traded it for a 2024 Power Wagon a few days ago.
I think the camry will stay reliable because it uses the same engine and power train as last generations with style updates. The corolla will stay reliable along as they don't put a turbo in it. The gr corolla doesn't count lol

Well well well. All manufacturers have door knob lock/unlock. Creaking sunroof is not just something you just “get over”. Screen is bigger in ram. Only thing Toyota has is rear window up and down. I checked out new tundra and rear seats sucks, so is sequoia. New gen is just big disappointment.
I beg to differ. The rams I test drove all looked like there was a tablet attached to the dash. Too vertical looking for my taste, but to each their own!

I speak from experience ill take the 100000 mile warranty bumper to bumper and risk it with toyota every ram I ever had crapped out around 75000. Transmission issues. Not worth it.
It’s crazy to see how badly Toyota has been stumbling in the last couple years. I’m glad I don’t need a truck now or in the foreseeable future, but if i did need one, i don’t think i could stomach any of the new stuff. Seems like every one is regressing. If i had to have the power of a TT V6 I’d probably buy an older ecoboost and set aside a couple grand for whatever repairs it might need.
12/24 build. Wind coming past the door seals above 55mph. Rattling dash plastic. Narrow drivers leg room and not comfortable on long trips like the Gen2. It isn't a truck. Its a 4x4 Toyota El Camino.
2021 with the 5.7L is the model to get. Nice lighlty used ones will eventually go for more than these new ones. Same with the 2023 Tacoma. Better get them now. The previous gens will be coveted in a few years.Toyota's heyday for reliability is over.

for this comfortable new V6 twin turbo tundra you need to do a swap to reliable V8 3UZt with trany as well no more problem… or modify the new engine to be more reliable like what russian do😂

2020 5.7 is what I got. Get an aftermarket trans cooler if you do a bunch of towing

I have the 2025 with a 70,000 mile warranty. Will see how it goes. My 2020 Chevy Z71 was a disaster and spent more time in the shop than on the road

I'm glad I buy for function instead of vanity. I miss the old great quality of Toyota. They weren't the prettiest but they lasted with little to no problems. I don't want all the technology or added junk. I'm good with cruise and air conditioning. Technology ruined my 2020 Camry. It was the biggest piece of junk I've ever owned and wanted to dump it after the first couple thousand miles. It ruined a 30 year trust of Toyota products.
They just need to throw the V8 back into the Tundra, and the 4.0 V6 in the Tacoma 👍🏼

i force max currently isn't included in the recall simply due to it being able to have a little bit of power after engine blows. The engine still does blow on the i force max. Supposively, the engine bearing parts were set to expire in april 2024 and replaced with new parts, which was supposively the "fix". Nobody knows for sure tho, only time will tell. I have a 2024 limited trd with no issues so far.
Lesson is buy nothing manufactured during covid 2020 to 2023. Supply issues etc effected everything from fridges to vehicles. Also since this video now the engines are going apparently.
I have the 2024 1794 Limited and so far so good. 2000 miles. I would not recommend the 22 or 23 for sure based on engine and granny issues. They are replacing over 100k motors.
I went to the dealer today and test drove a 24’ model. I really liked it, and I’m looking into ordering the 25’ TRD PRO. Should I be worried about the 25’ model ??

I spotted a 21 Tundra SR5 with 50k miles. It's not a 22 but it seems like the issue could be changed if some things are added or things are changed.
That gas mileage is absolutely disastrous. 207mpg average with a f-150 3.5 platinum 6.5' bed. I do like the 1794 interior.
2023 TRD Sport - my top mod(s) was to buy TRD Pro rims and TRD Pro Fox suspension as “take offs”. Truck sits just as a Pro would and drives awesome. Appreciated your honest review and agree with everything you brought up.

I just bought a 2024 r5 tdr and It has no recalls. so i'm guessing it has the new motor? it pulls very good. plenty of power pulling my 10,000 trialer with my 853 bobcat with steel tracks. I've had 25 plus trucks over the years and it seems majior issues like yours come up evrey few years with a small group being worse. All my fords but one had the trans go at 32,000. they rest i traded well over 200,000 miles. I mean work miles. all my dodges had trans rebuilt. stopped dealing with dodge. i have 2000 toyota tundr with 300,000 plus miles. the water pump is the only majior work done. of course this is why you should allways invest in a good serviceand warranty plan.
Toyota's USED to be reliable. I'm keeping my 2007 CM with 249,536 miles. Runs like a Swiss watch.
Bought a 2025 limited last week. I freaking love it runs great has lots of power after seeing this video im not sure whats gonna happen guess ill be waiting to hit the 25k miles see what happens. Its gives me 14 mpg in city and 19.2 on the interstate while my 2020 gave me 12 on the interstate and 9 in city Had a 2020 106k miles never had issues just swapped battery a couple months ago. Only reason why i traded it was due to my dogs trying to catch a cat insode the engine bay and ripped off the engine harness dealership said 8k for repair
Aftet engine was replaced on my 1794 still had problems!!! Engine had to be replaced again i got rid of it asap!!!!

Everyone telling me the same thing is supposed to have a warranty I think 30k miles they say they can fix it by either swapping a new one I’m not sure and I don’t do crazy hauling or anything maintenance is up to date so hopefully nothing bad happens is not the hybrid it’s the sr5 crew max 2024

Yes 2022 is when they changed to the new body style and engine. 2021's are solid machines with the 5.7L V8. Not so great on the wallet for gas, but very reliable compared to the 2022+

@@vettle1there is a video here on RUclips where they replaced the short block. The mechanic bore scoped the old block and found the burrs at the oil galley intersections inside the block. The evidence is conclusive.

I had a relative buy one recently.I recommended a Tacoma as I consider it the better truck potentially but they went out and got a tundra I was shocked I hope the truck works out for them
Folks please stop buying trucks with pano roof and 14inch screens these don’t belong in trucks and it is either pricing the trucks out of reach for people that need them and or subtracting from the actual quality needed in a truck.

I bought a new, factory lifted Tundra last Feb. absolutely loved the truck... the ride, the power, the towing, the engine.
Out of fearing of it laying down on me at any inopportune moment, I traded it for a 2024 Power Wagon a few days ago.
I'm happy with Tundra. One of the best cars I ever had.

I think the camry will stay reliable because it uses the same engine and power train as last generations with style updates. The corolla will stay reliable along as they don't put a turbo in it. The gr corolla doesn't count lol

Well well well. All manufacturers have door knob lock/unlock. Creaking sunroof is not just something you just “get over”. Screen is bigger in ram. Only thing Toyota has is rear window up and down. I checked out new tundra and rear seats sucks, so is sequoia. New gen is just big disappointment.
I beg to differ. The rams I test drove all looked like there was a tablet attached to the dash. Too vertical looking for my taste, but to each their own!

I speak from experience ill take the 100000 mile warranty bumper to bumper and risk it with toyota every ram I ever had crapped out around 75000. Transmission issues. Not worth it.

It’s crazy to see how badly Toyota has been stumbling in the last couple years. I’m glad I don’t need a truck now or in the foreseeable future, but if i did need one, i don’t think i could stomach any of the new stuff. Seems like every one is regressing. If i had to have the power of a TT V6 I’d probably buy an older ecoboost and set aside a couple grand for whatever repairs it might need.

12/24 build. Wind coming past the door seals above 55mph. Rattling dash plastic. Narrow drivers leg room and not comfortable on long trips like the Gen2. It isn't a truck. Its a 4x4 Toyota El Camino.

2021 with the 5.7L is the model to get. Nice lighlty used ones will eventually go for more than these new ones. Same with the 2023 Tacoma. Better get them now. The previous gens will be coveted in a few years.Toyota's heyday for reliability is over.

Let me get this straight Toyota is selling and ppl are buying a truck worth on average 60k plus knowing full well that the engine has a defect and the whole unit will be a replacement and let’s not forget all the other q and q issues , look I use to like Toyota bc of its reliability but u can count on both hands on how many issues tundra has had and still having since it’s debut in 2021 and its nearly 2025 and chit is still popping
for this comfortable new V6 twin turbo tundra you need to do a swap to reliable V8 3UZt with trany as well no more problem… or modify the new engine to be more reliable like what russian do😂
