    When I first started doing crafts I couldn't afford the rotate cutter. I used a pizza pan cutter. I know it sounds weird but it worked. Lol

    LoL. I hear you about the "old lady knees". Add a gimpy back.
    I need to make a cozy pile of these as lap quilts for myself: Double-sided and thermal batting-filled with cotton quilt panels and bound edges. The weather here is miserable year-round, so they'll be put to good use.
    Joann usually has great fleece sales after Christmas, expensive anti-pill types included.
    Homemade gifts are great, as long as they don't look homemade.

    I talked to a lady in line at joanns that was making a lot of these for donations. She said they used big tables at a church and they had a wooden template that they laid on top of both pieces of fabric and then used electric scissors to cut around the template. That sure would be a great way to make them fast.

    Looks purple to me Anna! Suggest to the recipient when washing it to alleviate pilling, make sure you never wash it with towels. Second, never make the mistake of washing with something that might have an old tissue in a pocket and always hang to dry. Washing in this way is really helpful in keeping pills to a minimum.

  • @ruthbartholomew8054

    Because fleece is not always the same width, or are cut different at the store, I layer both pieces of fleece (wrong sides together)at one selvage, then trim with the rotary cutter to make them the same size. Then, I can just start cutting the fringe without the extra steps .

    • @ruthbartholomew8054
      @ruthbartholomew8054 5 лет назад +2

      What do you think?
      Oh! and once the fringe is cut, I tie that length of fringe before I move the blanket - then they don't get tangled.
