    Please let me say THANK YOU! 28 years ago my son was born with multiple birth defects. You have no idea the comfort a blanket like that blanket brought to me during difficult time. I couldn't always hold him but I could cuddle the blanket, use it while pumping my milk, use it to comfort him with my scent on it etc. Your not just making a blanket your giving comfort and love to parents who have unsure future. I still have the blanket and gave it to his son my grandson.

Thank you for this awesome tutorial - I have more confidence in my ability to actually make this blanket properly now. :)

    I tried combining 2 of your methods and loved the result. I did the pull through 3 times and then tied. It keeps the ties flatter but gives a nice braided edge look. I also used embroidery thread to tie throughout the middle of the blanket as you would a tie quilt. Thanks so much!!!

    YOU HAVE OPENED UP A WHOLE WORLD FOR ME. I AM IN A WHEELCHAIR DUE TO A STROKE AT 33. I HAVE SHAKINESS (ATAXIA) AND CANNOT DO MOST CRAFTS. YOUR TUTORIAL IS GREAT! YOU MAKE IT SOOOO EASY TO MAKE GIFTS OR DONATIONS. TY!! BUT I HAVE A QUESTION ON THE AMT. OF MATERIAL FOR A LARGER PERSON AND A TALL COLLEGE STUDENT. I BELIEVE I BUY 1 YARD OF EACH, FOR A CRIB SIZE, 2 YDS OF EA. FOR A CHILD SIZE, 3- ADULT SIZE AND IS IT 4 YDS OF EACH FOR A LARGER SIZE. IS THIS RIGHT? TY FOR HELPING ME FEEL PRODUCTIVE!

      Cynthia Bethuy hi. Every video I’ve seen recommends two yards for adult size blankets. I don’t know if that helps. I have yet to try making a blanet

    • @seasons0123
      @seasons0123 5 лет назад +2

      A twin bed is 75 inches long. An X-long bed is 80 inches long. Find out which the College Student is in. Then add about 6 to 8 inches to replace the edges that are being cut to tie/knot Etc... That is how I do it. Oh though if you want to account for his tallness you will probably have to add more. Since you will want to go over his/her feet I forgot to and ours was to short
      .

    • @MO99ish
      @MO99ish 4 года назад +2

      1 yard is plenty for crib size. 1.5 for a child under 4ft tall. If your making a throw for a tall man 2.5 yards is the length of a twin/full size bed. It would make a great throw that would cover his feet.

    • @NKSPodcast
      @NKSPodcast 4 года назад +2

      I would recommend 3 yards , I am a basketball player and I make lots of blankets 3 yards is as big ass a full size bed with almost a yard left at the bottom if you are rapped in your blanket. 4 yards may be a bit much but at the end of the day if they are over 6 feet that might be best and safest so that it is not too small.😊☺️

    • @TheSlipperyNUwUdle
      @TheSlipperyNUwUdle Год назад +4

      I know this comment is old, but anyone reading this now, making a 3 yard tie blanket is a nightmare and it’s just not worth it! Lol for an adult I would recommend two yards. I ended up giving away my 3 yard tie blanket to a friend cause I got so frustrated at folding it and carrying it. And it takes ages to tie all the little knots.

    For the yarn tasseled one, another option is the latch hook tool. A little less cumbersome than pulling the yarn through with your fingers. When I was a teenager, I used to make small pillows with novelty washcloths using the yarn tassels to hold the sides together. The latch hook tool would also serve to puncture the hole in the material. Just a thought...
