Thank you so much for this video! My bf and I made one together where we coordinated 2 fabrics that we liked. This was really to the point and honestly so fun and easy!
Just made another one, only real small for one of my dogs! My daughter still loves hers that I made last year! Thx for sharing this video!
All of your Blessing Blankets are so Beautiful, Beautiful video, thanks for sharing!
My aunt made me one of these when I was a child.. and I still have and cherish it. Wanting to make them for my nieces and nephews this year for Christmas ❤️
I subscribed I just love THESE blankets!! Thank you SO very much for taking your time to show us!!
Just a little tip: If you’re making this for someone who is 6’+ and they like their feet to be covered in the blanket, you gotta make it at least 2.5 yards. I made one that was 2 yards for my 6’4 boyfriend (perfect size for me but I’m 5’2) and it’s too short for him so I made him a new one that is literally nine feet long (3yds)
Great tip.
thank you so much!!! i was considering making one of these for my 6’2 boyfriend and now i know the measurements!!!
Very Nice, But I think I would cut only 2 inches , out of it for the fringe, because Otherwise it seems to make the blanket a lot smaller. & I made a Large one from Joanne's Fabrics I ended up Having it sewn all the way around, with no fringe at all, because I thought the person I was giving it too wouldn't want the fringe in their face. Nor would I want that for a baby , having fringe in their face. It's Very Cute With the Fringes but not always Practical
Thanks for the tip. I’m 5’2” and my honey is 6ft lol ❤
Amazing!! Definitely trying this. Thank you. I cant wait to make one for my kids
I'm making 9 of them for the local care facility that takes care of kids. Thank you for teaching me how to make these!
My neighbors gave me an extra long 5:29 one six years ago! I have used it daily ever since! Washes and dries beautifully! It is the best gift I have ever had!
LOVE THIS!! What a Wonderful Warm & Snuggly Gift!! I’m not a Crafty person but I “REALLY!” Want to try this!! Hope it’s Not too Frustrating!!🙌❤️🙏🤗
They are extremely easy to make and very fun!
I am made many of these blankets for the Ronald mcdonald house children..And August 24th is my birthday and I want to celebrate it by making more blankets for the sick children. I love making them so very much. My boyfriend asked me to make one for his grandpa who is suffering with Dementia I told him that I am highly honored to make one for him....
I made one of these for my girlfriend a couple years ago for Christmas. She loves that thing. Doing it again these year. She won't mind, she loves things like this.
Thank you for your tutorial! I made two tie blankets after watching for my children.

I'm making blankets for my nieces and nephews I was thinking of going a little bigger when buying the fabric so as they grow they can still use their special blankets from aunty years later 😊 in total 8 blankets and the kids range in age from 2 to 14 so this should be fun lol
Sunny Shores good luck
I’m doing the same this year!
I’m excited!
I'm going to make My 4 grandbabies One and My Great granddaughter One too!! I can't wait so excited 🙂
Thats a great idea!
My daughter has one that she's got as a newborn 11 years ago. She loves that blankets lol.. now I'm watching ur video so she can make on herself. She's very crafty.
Thank you ~ your video was eas to follow and very helpful. Most of all, as a senior citizen, thank you for not talking way too fast like many young people do today. I appreciate your tutorial. :)
You just gave me a great idea for family Christmas gifts! Thank you! Possibly after first of the year start making them for different organizations! I’m excited!

Thank you so much! I found your tutorial straight to the point and a joy to watch. I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to teach me how to make a tie blanket ❤️❤️❤️❤️
You are so very welcome!
Your video is on point thank u so much also yours is the 1st video when searching 😍🥰
Really helpful! Thank you!!
Very pretty, thank you.
I buy four yards of fleece. Each side is a two yard panel. It makes a good size blanket for adults. Great gift for babies, they can still use it on their twin bed when they are teenagers or off to college. :)
Thanks for all your awesome and easy, crafty ideas. My 4 yr old niece just loves to make anything that you do.
Thanks for your crafty funness!!
My daughter has 2 sons. The oldest has an old buzz lightyear blanket. The baby loves Buzz and Micky Mouse. So I am going to use the old blanket on one side and new Micky material on the other. Hopefully it will be a great keepsake!!
Took hours because, after washing the fleece, I had gotten the last of two different fleece designs and so had to tidy up the ends. Here’s final product. Gorgeous. Knots are a terrific way to avoid sewing. Didnt measure the strips but had measured cutting out the corners. Turns out beautiful. I think next time I’ll do six inch. Easier to get ahold to turn. Thx sooo much for sharing so clearly!
Chose a green and black plaid for one side and a wonderful deer and moose and evergreen red and white other side.
So, six inches. Do you still cut the strips every 1 inch? In this video, they look REALLY close together. I've had fleece in my closet for at least 10 years and I'm finally retired and want to make a blanket for these old, cold bones. 😂
I love you for this! Super helpful! Super easy!!
I made all my Family one when my kids were little. Thanks,, time to make the Grandkids one 😊
I have made one of these before, and I used this tutorial. And know I am making another one!
Really found this helpful 🥰
Making blankets for my best friends for Christmas! :D
I found two remnants at Joann for about $5 each and they were both just over 1.2 yards. One was cats, one was sushi, with contrasting blue backgrounds. It is a smaller blanket, but i love it! I mostly make them for my cat
Thanks for the video!
Oooo, I want to make one of these blankets. I need to buy some fleece fabric though. Thanks for the tutorial💕
Go for it!
I made one with Day of The Dead theme skulls and black fabric on the back for my Dad who’s just getting out of jail, and doesn’t have much and his birthday is coming up. He loves my blankets I make and these are so fun, easy and customizable. Bought matching fabric for pillow for his new apartment!
Can you share how to make a pillow please??
Very pretty ❤
So cute! Can't wait to give it a try. I just got some airplane fleece for my son (:
Great video. Ty

My parents would always make me one of these when I was younger. I now have a collection of 48!!
I'm making em for FFA and we are giving them to the nursing home

We make em in my FFA class to take them to the cancer center and our teacher usually lets us hand em out but due to covid the nurses are gonna hand em out to them for us.
Omg same but I’m giving them to the humane society 🐈🦮🐕🐈⬛
I’m doing it for the sae project
Thank you for your very clear, no blablabla style😄😉! I have small scraps of fleece and I’d like to make a blanket with no lining... could you please suggest a stitch to sew them together flat? 🤗🧵
Here's a scrap fleece blanket I made: cutesycrafts.com/2015/01/make-fleece-blankets-scraps.html
Making a fleece doggie blanket and this was the best video on it! I made one a long time ago but needed a refresher. Your tying method looks much neater than mine was (but the dog never complained) 😂. Thanks!
Haha! You're welcome!
This tying technique will be simple for my students.
Making one for the first time.. thanks so much for sharing the video... What do I do if the #s are whole ?
We’re doing this for our church Christmas ministry!
I'm making these for the dogs at the shelter thanks
I’m doing the same thing right now!
How large are the blankets you are making?
@@jackifrench8902 Been so long ago now I don't remember...grr!
I bought a blanket from Joann's and it didn't give me any directions! So thank you soooo much!!!
Very nice, thank you! So, what size is the blanket prior to cutting the fringe? (I know it's a yard long but for the 2nd length, do you just leave it at whatever width the fabric is sold in or do you trim it down at all?) Thank you!
Hi so good
Made. Thsi blanket I also hand knitted one u like this one way more I used different fabric
Great tutorial, Thanks!--Our Boy Scout troop are making these fleece blankets for the homeless during COVID-19 to safely earn their Community Citizenship Merit Badges--Go Scouts!
I’m going to make these for my grandparents on both sides of my parents family’s for Christmas
Im Algériens is beautiful ans good job , good like
Making this so I can bring home my new kitty from the shelter with it 💕💕💕
Aww how sweet!
How long did it take you to tie the whole blanket? For a child size? :)
My step-grandfathers (pregnant) cousin came over today to discuss her baby shower with my grandmother and they ended up just watching SVU and talking and sometime along the way she fell asleep covered by the blanket my grandmother made for my grandfather. Im planning on making her one of these to gift her for her babyshower.
Aw I love it! Such a great idea!
Do you have any suggestions on how to avoid too much puckering? Also, despite meticulous measuring that both fabrics are the same size and shape, there appears a "loose" fabric in the middle of the blanket after you are done tying the knots. TY for a response.
my back hurts but its worth it
Wow this is so cool. My dad left so he couldn’t make me one but it’s chillin. Yao Bing chilling.
Great tutorial! If you wanted to make it round or oval and stuff it for a dog bed, you wouldn't need to cut out anything, would you? I'm trying to picture it in my head and for some reasonI can't think of a reason why you would need to but I wouldn't have thought about cutting the corners out of a square or rectangle either. 🤷🤦
You wouldn't need to cut out corners, but the round edges will make your tabs wider at the top. To fix that, you'll need to cut out wedges like I did with the curves on this mermaid tail blanket: cutesycrafts.com/2018/11/no-sew-fleece-mermaid-tail-blanket-pattern.html
I plan to this soon, but do you need to make the square cut out on each corner? I only have 58" by 38" to use an I don't want to make it smaller than it already is.
Why do you cut the 5x5 corners?
I have made these for baby shower gifts.
Why do you have to cut out the 5x5 corner pieces?
Would this work with any other fabric?
Hi there, I’m going to try and attempt this for the first time. Just wanted to say thank you so much for your video and for being so descriptive, I’m almost totally blind, love crafting, and sometimes people create content with no description, or no audio, which is a bit of a tricky, one for people like me. Anyway, I will attempt this, I might have some more questions as I go along, but I love a challenge, and it’s Sunday evening before Christmas. So why not?
So glad my video was helpful! Good luck making your blanket!
How much to cover a full size bed?
Can this be made like this with the plush fleece as well?
I am making this blanket for craft night with my book club ladies and I am so excited. I do have one question though... do you need to wash your fleece before starting the prep work or do you wash it after you are complete??? Thanks 😊
You can do it either way. I usually don't wash it before because I feel like it lays flatter for cutting that way.
great instructions exccept I don't understand what you mean near the beginning when you put the measurerer across the corner and you say to make sure you have whole numbers. do you mean that at 5" it should measurre in whole numbers? i understand why you would want whole numbers but I am not sure what it is that I am measuring at that point. Love these blankets and can't wait to make some,
When you cut the blanket's overall dimensions. That way, when you cut the fringe, you aren't left with like half an inch piece of fringe on the end. Make sense?
Super cute! Great gift idea! Question: What kind of scissors did you use? I need a new pair and yours seem very sharp!
My mom bought be a bunch of sewing scissors for Christmas one year. They are all Gingher brand, and I love them! I think she got them off Amazon, but that was years ago before they started selling a lot of knock-offs. So just make sure to read the reviews if you buy from there.
i could make this wow k
Are you able to put filling in the inside? Like fluff or?
Not for a no-sew. Batting would bunch up in the wash and go to one side of the blanket. Filling would come out of the blanket.
Why would you want or need any ? No 👎 if you did you would have to quilt or make ties with wool or embroidery 🧵 to secure so it does not shift
There is different thickness of fleece. Make sure and pick the higher priced thicker fleece for a heavier blanket. The other option that might work is using 3 layers instead of two. If you try this I would cut your strips at least 6 inches (instead of 5) because it will give you more space to loop and knot the three strips at once which may be more challenging.
So pretty do you make anything with the squares that you cut from each corner im making these for local cat shelters👍💖
I don't usually save them, but I have a blog post full of ideas for fleece scraps: cutesycrafts.com/2017/03/things-make-fleece-scraps.html
making some mini ones for the local animal shelter ❤️
Where did you buy the unicorn fleece. I love the pattern.
From Joann, but it looks like they don't have it anymore.
What do you do with the corners? What happens to them? I love this video though :)
The corner you cut out disappears, since you’re tying knots up to each edge. The fringe starts on each side. I guess you could use the 5x5” scraps for other projects?
I’m making these for probation ! Lol
How do you tie the corners?
You cut the corners out completely
So I cut the 5.5 off the sides regardless of what size blanket I’m making?
Yes. That number is to make the size of the fringe and doesn't have anything to do with the size of the blanket.
Can you wash it after and will it make the knots fall out?
Yes, ours have been washed and dried and came out fine, with knots intact.
How long to make the tie for full bed fleece?? The 5x5 is to small please anyone
serena bailey 8x8
Question would a baby size blanket be the same as a toddler size? So 1yard of each coordinating fleece?
Yes, I think you could use the same. If you want them to be able to use it a little longer, then a yard and a half.
2 yards for a small adult you’ll want to get 2 and a half yards or so for around 6 foot adults because the 2 yards feels like less after cutting and doesn’t cover your feet like you need haha also look for technique where you cut a slit on each tassel and weave them through each other. Gives a nice braided look
Im making this for a friend who is expecting a baby!😁
Question: if you have 1 1/2 yards for a child, would the corners be 4 x 4?
Do you think I could use like a sheet material?
You can only use fabric that won't fray. I've tried it with fleece and minky. You might be able to use a knit jersey cotton (t-shirt fabric). I think some sheets are made of jersey cotton, so that MIGHT work. It would have to be that stretchy, t-shirt like fabric though.
I’m making one that my uncle gave me for my birthday
