    Thank you so much. I’ve been tying and untying. I have 50+ presents to wrap still and finish 2 blankets. I’ve watched countless vids and it’s mainly the same person saving “ fun, so fun, most fun tying like this, cut a slit and tie it’s so fun”. But never showed the tie! Ty for the quick, simple, easy vid. I hope you are a crafty lady and have other vids!

    very thorough. the most difficult part for me will be tying the knots and using the scissors to make the cuts in the fabric precisely. but your video has explained how to do it step by step about how to make a fleece blanket that i think i can do it. other videos that i have found are either too fast in explaining the steps and are difficult to follow along or they just show how to do it without saying anything and you need to pay close attention and try to follow along , if u get it fine, then you’re good, if you don’t, then you don’t….or the video is incomplete etc

    is there a big difference between no pill fleece and non?

    • @onlinefabricstore
      @onlinefabricstore  7 лет назад +6

      The main difference between no pill fleece and non pill fleece is the quality. Pill fleece is typically of a lesser quality, which means it’s also less expensive. After frequent use and washing it will eventually start to pill. No-pill fleece is made of a better quality fabric. It also holds up longer than its counterpart.

      OnlineFabricStore.net okay thanks

    • @eileentaylor4406
      @eileentaylor4406 5 лет назад

      When you put your time and effort in a project, ALWAYS use the best quality of materials possible! You can find lesser quality items ready-made easily; however, when you do a project yourself, you want to be proud of your accomplishments in your work! I know I do! People ask me where I got something I made & when I reply that I made the item, I sometimes get a double take or a "You're kidding!" response, followed by, "Wow, it's pretty & well-made!" Cheap fabrics, yarns, threads, etc., are NOT worth using in the long run. Great quality materials purchased on sale are acceptable, though.

    would this work with flannel fabric????

    • @onlinefabricstore
      @onlinefabricstore  5 лет назад

      Fleece is best for this project because it doesn't fray. You could use fray check on all the edges of the flannel but it would be time intensive. You can get some here - www.onlinefabricstore.net/dritz-fray-check-liquid-seam-sealant-.htm

    @kristinlynch267 6 лет назад

    What dimensions would you recommend if we were making these for children? This is a class project to help children going through chemo and the 2x2yds seems too large. Any recommendations? Thanks!

    • @onlinefabricstore
      @onlinefabricstore  6 лет назад

      Hi Kristin, If you want the blanket to comfortably cover the children, 2 yards is best (but of course it depends on the size of the child). If it's more of a lap blanket, a yard may be enough. Keep in mind the 4 inch fringe will make the usable size of the blanket 8 inches shorter in each dimension.

  • @patriciabrannan9710
    @patriciabrannan9710 5 лет назад

    I made this blanket using black NFL Falcons fleece material. I laid the fabric on my white carpet to work on the blanket which took about two days. When I lifted the blanket, the fabric left a ring in my carpet that I can't get out. Any suggestions?

    • @onlinefabricstore
      @onlinefabricstore  5 лет назад

      Hmm, that's odd! Is it only around the edges where the fringe was cut? If so, it's probably fine fibers that got into the carpet when it was cut. I would think a strong vacuum with a brush nozzle would get it out. If not, I'm not sure!

    • @patriciabrannan9710
      @patriciabrannan9710 5 лет назад

      Yes! I thought about that afterwards. It's only where I cut the fabric. I've been vacuuming with my Dyson, but not all came out.

    I can use this for my guinea pig C&C Cage?

    • @onlinefabricstore
      @onlinefabricstore  7 лет назад

      I wouldn't recommend fleece only because of it pilling from the animals feet. I would use a cotton fabric, something that won't attract lint or pill.

    • @CardcaptorsRULES
      @CardcaptorsRULES 7 лет назад +1

      OnlineFabricStore.net I use anti pill fleece for my guinea pig cage. 😃 so will that work?
      I plan on using Uhaul pads in between two anti pill sheets

    • @onlinefabricstore
      @onlinefabricstore  7 лет назад +1

      The anti-pill fleece should work for a good amount of time. However keep in mind that fleece is fleece and over time with the animals feet it may start to pill even if it's anti-pill fleece.

    • @onlinefabricstore
      @onlinefabricstore  5 лет назад +1

      That's right, the blanket will be 10 inches smaller, which is 50 x 62 inches. If you want it longer than that, use 2.5 yards to make it 50 x 80 inches.

    Would you be able to help me with dimensions of a king sized mattress?

    • @onlinefabricstore
      @onlinefabricstore  8 лет назад +4

      +Nicole Davidson A king size mattress is approximately 80" long by 76" wide. If you want the blanket to hang over the sides, than you will need 6 yards total with a seam down the middle because the fleece is only 60" wide. 3 yards on one side, and 3 yards on the other will be 108" wide by 120" long. If you're just making a throw blanket for the bed, 3 yards total is what you would need. The 3 yards will be 108" long by 60" wide. Let me know if you have any other questions :)

    why do you have to cut out the corners?

    • @onlinefabricstore
      @onlinefabricstore  9 лет назад +6

      +becauseHe1stlovedme You could start cutting strips without cutting the corners first, but you'll see once you go to cut both sides of a corner, the strips can't go all the way to the edges. A piece the length of your strips will end up being cut out anyway. Cutting it out first just saves a little cutting and insures the corner is even.

    DO I NEED TO WASH THE FLEECE BEFORE MAKING THE CUTS?

    • @onlinefabricstore
      @onlinefabricstore  8 лет назад +5

      +NDN Rider The fleece won't shrink in the wash, so you don't need to pre-wash it. But it's best to wash anything that will be against the skin before using it to remove any chemical residue from manufacturing. This can be done before or after making the blanket.

      Did you purchase this fabric? I would say that when its in front of you it is pretty obvious. The wrong side is a little more faded, but more importantly, the nap on the right side is what you would expect from fleece and the wrong side is a little matted down.
