- Previously uploaded in August 2014. Humphrey Bogart met Lauren Bacall on the set of To Have and Have Not in 1943. At the time, Bacall was 19 years old and living with her mother and Bogart was 44 and married to actress Mayo Methot. The couple wed in 1945, had two children and remained together until his death from cancer in 1957. Of Bogart's four marriages, it is said that the only one to bring him any happiness was the one to Bacall, whom he called "Baby" both in private and in public. Founding members of Las Vegas' famous Rat Pack in 1955, Bogey and Bacall's most memorable films include The Big Sleep, Dark Passage, and Key Largo. They has 2 children, 1 son named Stephen & 1 daughter named Leslie named after Leslie Howard, the actor who gave Bogie his big breakout role in The Petrified Forest. Bogie died from cancer on January 1957 at the age of 57 & Lauren died from a stroke on August 2014 at the age of 89. They will always be remembered by fans for their on & off screen romantic chemistry together in the golden age of hollywood.
I haven't heard this song in years. Bacall was a hottie in her prime. She still looked good in her later years. R.I.P. to both of them.
The eyes don't lie they loved each other.....
god Bogey had Bacall what a lucky man .....you could see it in their eyes when they looked at each other
Beloved man, we have it all. We just have to wait for this movie to end; a movie on a world stage. It cannot go on forever then we will be together.
they were like peas and carrots may they rest in peace
Lauren Bacall and Bogie what a love story , never again . She is so Beautiful and Timeless and I named my only daughter after her Lauren . She never left him and never married again that says it all . Thank you for this Amazing and Timeless tribute
You’re welcome scott😊
It certainly was
She did marry again, to Jason Robards Jr.
Love
Lauren did marry again to actor Jason Robart. He looked similar to Bogart
A shame they didn't make another movie after Key Largo in 1948.😔
To be fair, they were gonna make a 5th one, but cancer happened.
@@tylerbushong3452 . I know, but that was in 1956. 8 years after Key Largo came out. They could have made a movie or two in that time period.
@@rockyracoon3233 yeah, but how are you gonna match Key Largo? I didn’t think they’d match Dark Passage.
My dad turned me on to this song over 20 years ago. I play it and think of my parents, just" like raymond and Theresa" lol my parents
If there was ever an age gap between two people where they were in love it's Bogart and Bacall. They were definitely each others true love.
♥️♥️
US Army General Matthew Ridgway of World War II and Korea fame was also in an age gap marriage. His wife was like 20 years younger than him, but evidently their relationship was a happy one, they remained together until his death at 98 years old.
@@thunderbird1921 Wow. That's something. Sometimes age is just a number.
Also Celine Dion and Rene, and Bo and John Derek.
actually she married jason robards after bogie died.
We had it all, just like Bogie and Bacall...
Here's looking at you Mrs BACALL !!💕
Bacall and Bogie = the best celebrity couple of all time. This two adored each other so much.
Bogie and Bacall not the other way
@@bleuskye8124 Hmm, why not (: they are equally important, equal legends. Now they are both together in paradise 🌹❣
He's or she's single
You're single or the other way around?? And sooo
Actually there was one greater: Roy Rogers and Dale Evans.
You can See and Feel the Love Between Them :)
Remember when smoking was cool? Now, being cool isn't worth dying over. Now love? Yeah, it's cool and at times most definitely worth dying for...
The eyes don't lie, She really love Bogey....
Bogie was such a class act!
Bacall was so beautiful...incredible!
Timeless Chemistry! B&B Forever!
She is beautiful🌹
Wish I had a Bogie👍
The two of them, so beautiful, so vibrant, and so full of life. And now - - - - - nothing, almost like they never existed. It's not right, and it's not fair. I hate it, and I hate the sadness that comes with it. 😢
A picture of pure love❤❤
“I’ve been in love since, but he was my first, and you never completely get over your first love.”- Lauren Bacall
Happy Happy 75th Wedding Anniversary Bogie and Betty! I hope you too are very happy where you are!!! Thanks for all those wonderful films you left behind.
They loved each other unconditional. Timeless ! Thank you for this Beautiful tribute. True love never dies. Mrs. Lauren Bacall was so Beautiful and stunning, I named my daughter after her .
That’s great that you name your daughter after a legend & you’re welcome
They were a class act. Nothing even close today.
SHE SURVIVE. HIM. FOR. A. LONG. TIME. SHE. WAS. A. REAL. STAR. ON HER. LIFE. TIME. WHAT. A. COUPLE. BOGIE. AND. BACALL
Bogey's eyes said it all as he looked at her hungrily!! Play it again Sam!!
What a beautiful woman
Beautiful Bless Couple Love Great Love For Each Other
No exaggerating the song and the video is like reaching heavens..!
If any of you love the old Classic Bogie movies like I do, this will touch a chord or two. Who can forget the Bacall line, "You know how to whistle don't you? You just put your lips together and blow"
It's from To Have and Have Not, a Hemingway classic...
I remember it well when I was a teenager and first saw the movie and heard that line (way too many years ago). I thought it the most sensual line in movie history.
I can't imagine leaving this world without getting to hold you one more time, at least. We have it all just like Bogie and Bacall. LM
LM?
Feeling Nostalgic... 💘💘 Real True Pure Innocent Love Comes Only but once in a lifetime..... as it did for me too... 💔💔
Beautiful Timeless Classic...💫💛💛💫
GREAT CLIP!
I've loved them and still do. I hope to meet them when I go home.
Absolutely handsome and beautiful couple, two of my dad's favorite movie stars, they definitely portrayed true love
I would have married her too. Such a beatiful woman, with a look that brings a man to do what he normally would not. Everything about her causes a man absolute conflict.
I love "old Hollywood." When I heard some of the movies from that era were being re done in color I couldn't believe it !! My opinion is they're nicknamed old Hollywood for a friggin reason !! I remember watching Dick Cavett doing an interview with Mae West. Ms. West had some beautiful jewelry on...so D.C. said " goodness your jewelry is beautiful !" Ms West replied " goodness had nothing to do with it.," One of Hollywood's bad girls. 👑💎❤️🌹
It reminds me of my love and how I lost my life along the way
😔💔💔
Sadly, I can relate, but sometimes as they say, "better to have loved and lost then never loved at all..."
He was so fabulous! What a romantic couple, ah love!
Beautiful song, beautiful couple. Bogie has always been my favourite actor. Key Largo was a top movie. Thanks for the upload. Well done
you're welcome

They were the best
Learnt this song from a show called Disjointed.
Thank you for a great video! Bogie & Bacall are my favorite screen romantic couple! I only wish they had made more movies together. The chemistry between them was just incendiary! 🎆🎆🎆🎆🎆
Yes they were❤️
For anyone from the bay area that remembers KBHK TV 44, way back in the mid 80's they used to show old movies. My father who was born in 1937 used to love Humphrey Bogart, and KBHK used to show a similar video with this song. My father used to like to watch it and hear the song on the radio. Hearing this song brings back fond memories, as my father died of cancer in 2004.
Awesome story. Thanks for sharing.
I'm from the Bay Area and I remember seeing this late at night on KBHK around 1986. It was my recollection of this that brought me here. I'm fairly certain that this is the same video. Good times!
I was actually searching for that channel 44 clip. I remember it well along with TV dials, VHF and UHF. good memories.
I remember KBHK. am a native born San Franciscan. station came on the air around 1968 I think. I left SF in 1972 after graduating from UC Berkeley. I remember going to Bogart film festivals on campus. Key Largo and Petrified Forest were two I attended. My favorite Bogie and Bacall picture is definitely Dark Passage made in 1947. I love most pictures where San Francisco is the backdrop DOA, the Lineup and House on Telegraph Hill are among them.
@@donpaolino5075 sure right
Nice tribute, really great song (thanks Bertie).Of course in the actual movie Key Largo, Bogie's character had NO romantic involvement with Bacall's character. involvement
True Love & Legends... 💘💘
Brings back memories...♥️♥️
What A GREAT SONG.IT BRINGS BACK SO MANY GREAT Memories from the past.
Thanks a million for this. There will never again be a couple as great as Bogie and Bacall .I could almost cry watching this. Those flicks are timeless.
THANK YOU FOR SUMMARY OF THEIR LIFE. TO THE DAY I DIE I WILL ALWAYS THINK OF THEM AS THE GREATEST COUPLE EVER. IT MAY BE YEARS SINCE THEIR DEATH, WHICH STILL BRINGS A TEAR TO MY EYE. I THINK IT MAY BE THE MUSIC THAT GOES WITH THE VIDEO. WHICH EVER THANK YOU....
Warren Ronemus you're welcome
So true there never be another couple like this was one of the greatest eras of Hollywood
Old Hollywood!!! Epic
Who were they? I don't think I was born...
Might have been an age gap, but she stuck to. him during his illnesses, she was a real lady,

Legendary 💕
THEY WERE LOVE ❤️
Beautiful.
A line from another movie, another screen romance but... "Here's looking at you kid"
I stopped by because of Bogie & Bacall whom I loved both dearly. Like yourself Jewllake, only I was the viewer of those great B&W Movie re-runs from the 70's & on into the 80's. The song itself I loved by the late great Bertie Higgins who's song I was searching for. hanks for posting both song & memory of your Dad!
My sweet, handsome Husband & I used to dance to this. He gave the greatest hugs & kisses!! Love this so much that I can feel his arms around me still. A Patriotic man who passes away on July 4th, 2012. A God thing for sure.
OMG, I love this video!
A lot of method actors like Brando and DeNiro don't like Bogart because "his roles were all the same." Makes me wonder what movies they were watching.
My other favorite song...
great!
nice❤
Bogie was so handsome
Lauren Becall was a real babe in her day
Bogie wasn't too bad either 😉♥️
I LOVE THIS
love this v
They only saw the other person. Not their age but the person.
for you only..
"Do you know how to whistle? You just put your lips together and blow....👄🎶"
@Patricia Walton Good luck over her Life was Bogart
Back then, men had class. They would light a cigarette for a lady without hesitation.
Ryan Palermo so true such class back then iam 54and sure miss these times even though I wasn't born yet my folks were this era the best era in my opinion
Yeah that's all it takes...
