- 2020 is a very weird and stressful year. So I thought : We all could use a little bit of The Nanny love.
Here's a new serie of video : "Reasons to love..."
This is the first time I try to edit this type of video, so here is to the best butler ever : Niles.
If you enjoy it, I'm already working on a few more, with other characters from the show, and maybe from others too... Let me know what you think !

Niles’ voice is like melted butter, his whit was razor edged, and he wasn’t half bad looking either! My favorite character hands down

Yeah I agree but the show was awesome and the cast and crew and the actor's did a awesome job making us feel happy and sad and making us proud to watch the show again and again we will always remember watching the Nanny for a very long time I know that sounds weird but it's true 👍😊

Would never have guessed he was American, ‘til I saw him in a movie where he had his own accent...
He does slip occasionally in the later seasons. Watch around Season 6 when he mentions CC in shorts in the desert. It's quite a distinctive slip of the accent.

@@BlueSpaceToucan Definitely lots of sexual references in the insults. The physical pranks, some of which could have been dangerous, didn't quite work with that premise, however.
@Jessica Lillian Weinberg Yes, I agree about that too. Their relationship wasn't perfect, and it evolves a lot from S1 to S6. And you're absolutely right about the pranks
@@BlueSpaceToucan Sometimes you felt that they had a connection with each other that characters who were supposedly more popular and socially successful (i.e., Max) didn't have with anyone. He (Max) doesn't seem to really be close to anyone except those who work for him. And, while Niles and CC always complain about their lives, I wonder if they're sort of joking. I hate that someone with as much going for her as CC could hate their life. And I get the impression that Niles doesn't want to do other things if it takes him away from CC and the kids. He does sometimes want to get into show business - which could make you suspicious of why he gets together with CC.

I just started watching this show a few days ago and have already binge watched three seasons because of Niles. He's my favorite, he's hilarious! He's so handsome too. Him and C.C. together are the cutest.

Fun fact, the actor playing as Niles has in fact Southern American accent... but i leave it to you all to see how his interpretation of the British accent is that good. Another why to love him.

3:10 mentions what a "shipper" he is. But we also know that he has fantasies where he is "Mr. Sheffield" and sought after by both Fran and CC (remember his hospital dream in season 4)...and he chooses CC. Now, of course, this is part of why he's a Fran/Max shipper...he doesn't want Max to be competition for CC. But it's ironic that if he were Max, he wouldn't tell Fran he loved her, or marry her, himself. And there were one or two episodes where he was totally mad and resentful because he thought Max was showing favoritism to Fran, over him, on account of Fran and Max's sort-of relationship. Which felt very "off" and unreal when it happened. It would make sense for both of the long-time employees (CC and Niles) to resent the newbie whom the boss liked, but in Niles' case, it just blew up suddenly for one episode and then went away.
I definitely agree with you, and I don't really like the episodes with a "bitter" Niles, I thought the same, that it felt "off" and weird. But 6 seasons is quite a lot, I guess that the writers wanted to give new aspects to characters…But yeah, I completely agree with you !
@@BlueSpaceToucan Some episodes in season 5 make me think that Niles is still in the hospital and is still dreaming. And some in season 6, too.
Oh that's an interesting theory, I never thought about that !
Niles actually tended to mis-fire with his shipping. He often interrupted Max and Fran during what could have become romantic moments...or tricked CC into interrupting them. This happens at the end of season 4, and then when Max asks Niles what to do about Fran's viewing the...romantic moment as a sign that Fran and his relationship is progressing, Niles says, "You could admit you love her, and marry her - or you could invent some project to distract her - like decorating." Which, of course, Max does. Niles shouldn't have given him the idea. (However, Max practically tells Fran, even as he's talking to her about decorating, that he's giving her the project to distract her from what happened - you'd think that would defeat the purpose.)
CC, on the other hand, inadvertently did things that turned out to be good for Fran and Max's relationship.
I loved Niles on this show. His and CC's relationship on it was the best. Another good performance he put in was his 2 appearances on Star Trek The Next Generation where he played Professor Moriarty. Actually didn't know he wasn't English until last year. 😂

I know that when you have two main characters marry on a TV show the sexual tension disappears and then sadly so does the show...but wouldn't it have been great if instead of hastily wrapping up the Niles and CC romance at the end of the sixth season they could have had a 7th season which had the main focus be Niles and CC's love story? Fran could still be cute getting trouble all the time but you'd still have an ongoing romance with sexual tension for all the fans...win/win. Heck they should have had a Niles and CC spinoff show...I would've watched it.
I would have watched 10 seasons of just Niles and CC 😂 But yeah I agree with you, their story was rushed unfortunately, I wish we would have seen more of them too

I think that was their joke. They make fun of CC, try to put her down but in reality she is gorgeous and far more stunning than Fran and she's rich and smart... can't put that kind down... except of course she is mean and heartless... that's why she couldn't make maxwell fall for her despite of her near perfection.
