I think Sylvia and Yetta are better grandmother figures to the Sheffields than the actual grandparents Sheffield.
Definitely, this is one of my favorite thing about this show, the amount of love in The Nanny is so heartwarming. Like that episode where they're all stuck at Sylvia's because of the snow, and she takes care of the Sheffields as if they were family, always makes me so happy ❤
Not to his kids, but her love towards Maxwell was really something. I loved when she takes care of him and Maxwell enjoyes it because he has such cold parents....And Maxwelk calling her mom is my favorite family scene 🥰

They remind me of my own grandparents one being that involved in families lives
As crazy as she is, sylvia is the glue that holds the family together.
I have a slyvia as a grandma and what you said is true about slyvia being the glue of family inspite of craziness
Renee is such an adorable actress! She is incredibly talented and a joy to see her perform as Sylvia. God bless you always Renee! And thank you for making us laugh over and over.

I swear there are SO MANY jokes I absolutely didn't understand as a kid 😂 And I first watched it in French so the first time I re-watch it as an adult and in English, it was a whole new experience 😂
@@BlueSpaceToucan I didn't know the show made it all the way to France. I also came from a country where English is not the first language, and when the show first aired here, they kept it as it is, they didn't even need to put subtitles in. Frans voice is already loud. Anyway we learn something knew everyday.

They made he look much younger and more reasonable at 1:26. As they carved out her character they made her style bombastic and ridiculous, as well as her voice and manner of speaking

I remember a production fact was that they wanted the actress they eventually got but the studio wanted to cast someone else if Sylvia was a main character so despite appearing in most of the series (and entire final season) she was only ever a guest

I love Sylvia and while she was a loving and attentive mother with good intentions, I'm glad at the same time she's not my mother. 😂 I'm very close to my mother too, but she has Sylvia's best qualities without her appetite and pushynessm I was raised to be more independent and self sufficient then Fran with love and marriage as a possible bonus, but not mandatory. I didn't even go on my very first date until I was thirty-two If I was Sylvia's daughter, I'd untentionally kill her being a content, full woman and full person over 30 and not interested in dating. Really. Marriage wasn't to kind to my Mom for awhile and we mostly relied on each other. I was content with being single a long time. If anybody ever ask if you like marriage or like being married, the answer is it depends on who you're married to. 😊
