I’m thinking the glass cup like piece could be a candle holder. Maybe candle wax was put in it, possibly, I have several small ones like that, without markings and very modern. But very similar. ❤️❤️❤️

Pity you left that piece of Chinese pottery! It has really fancy writings on it that say “Blessing and Longevity”, the two characters are intact and readable but then at the same time curved artfully to form a complete circle. It could’ve made a beautiful pendant that has wonderful meanings to it!
In Gene Florence's book on Depression Glass, he mentions some pattern, think it's Doric and Pansy or another pattern, where pieces of the pattern where found in England. Quite possibly Anchor Hocking exported to England and Canada glassware.

You definitely know you have a midden from a grand house when you find cut glass knife rests and caviar pots from Fortnum and Mason. No wonder they used so much milk of magnesia, all that rich food. Lovely finds ladies.

You beat me to it, my great grannie who we loved with was a gordon from Fochabers in Scotland then she moved to Dundee and when her father died she was made to sign papers and sent down to Lancashire with her two younger brothers and I remember my grannie telling me the story about the boar.

Your Lancaster, Ohio glass jar was probably for jelly or jam. When I was a child in the 1950s, my mother used similar jars for her jam, and preserves, and they'd be sealed with parafin wax and then a thin, brass-plated cap was put over the mouth.
Yes! I have one very similar. As soon as Alex turned over the jar and I saw the Anchor I said, "That's Anchor Hocking". This company has a very long history and there are some great websites out there. Many of our american canning jars were made by them during the late 1800's through the 1900's.

When I was a child (many miles ago )!!! my father came home with a bottle of fammel syrup .when I next had a cough I was given a dose of this concoction. It was the most disgusting thing I had ever had. It tasted like the smell of creosote.I can still imagine that I can taste it even now.!!!!! Love from Wolverhampton in The West Midlands. xxxxxxx

Such a strange jumbled link through time, to a place that once stood proud. Full of life. I thought it was a bit big too, then I did a Google image search for ‘cut glass knife rest’ and wow! The Victorians certainly seemed to like chunky knife rests. It’s like they hated any clear space in their table settings- they started inventing stuff to clutter it up with like these! These days, the knife rests might be better used for paintbrushes or wooden spoons next to your cooking area.

Watching the two of you treasure hunt together is so heartwarming and it makes me wish I could see my mother more. Its been so tough with covid-19. Plus she lives like 2 hours away. We love going to thrift stores and garage sales together. We both love arts and crafts and jewelry making. She's the best! Cherish eachother everyday. You're so lucky to have eachother and seem to really love what you do. Watching you brings me joy in these uncertain times and I want to thank you for that. How I envy you! I am 75 yrs old and have wanted to go through dumps since I was 9 years old. Never was allowed to do such a thing in Iowa and moved to Southern California in 1962 which was and is a wasteland without treasure for the most part. I thank you for the opportunity to go along on your adventures and history. Even if I were there, my Afib would prevent me from physical discovery, so I really appreciate your videos. Fascinating and very exciting with all the bottles, bits and bobs!

Watching the two of you treasure hunt together is so heartwarming and it makes me wish I could see my mother more. Its been so tough with covid-19. Plus she lives like 2 hours away. We love going to thrift stores and garage sales together. We both love arts and crafts and jewelry making. She's the best! Cherish eachother everyday. You're so lucky to have eachother and seem to really love what you do. Watching you brings me joy in these uncertain times and I want to thank you for that. So a big hug and lots of love from Canada ❤

How I envy you! I am 75 yrs old and have wanted to go through dumps since I was 9 years old. Never was allowed to do such a thing in Iowa and moved to Southern California in 1962 which was and is a wasteland without treasure for the most part. I thank you for the opportunity to go along on your adventures and history. Even if I were there, my Afib would prevent me from physical discovery, so I really appreciate your videos. Fascinating and very exciting with all the bottles, bits and bobs!

Incredible haul. The caviar pot is one amazing piece , well worth repairing the bottom . There can't be many of those left complete .
Great finds!! Spring brings out all of the weeds and thorn bushes. That would be a great place to dig at. I bet there are lots of great treasures there. I love the blue bottles.Great video!!
