I wants a shirt that says "dig me a stopple bopper" lol
Yes or a hat....
Me too either one!!
Good idea. I've found myself saying stopple boppers many times!
@@isalennox-moore7213 Shouldn't it be 'stopple botter'?
Great idea! I think "What is the alternative to all this?" would be a great t-shirt as well.
The bird you thought was a pheasant is a phoenix.
Ah yes, that makes a lot more sense! Xx
kristal burns I agree. I thought of Harry Potter right away.
It's a fenghuang, which is sometimes called a Chinese phoenix, but is not really similar to the phoenix of Greek mythology. :)
No, no it really is a stylized chicken 🤣
I thought it was a dragon.
You guys have such a calming way of doing your videos. It's like watching and listening to Bob Ross, but it's Northern Mudlarks.
Thank you so much! 💕😁
I just have have a small artists recommendation: Before you make a Christmas ornament out of that new second fairy lens make a two part mold of it then you can potentially make copies in glass or resin.
Great idea! That way we could make multiple tree decorations too 😊❤️
@@NorthernMudlarks You could also make edible copies in a very strong jelly solution. Edible decorations for a festive meal! You could even make an edible christmas tree with edible decorations & edible gifts.
@@sarahstrong7174 Over my way, we just call them cookies LOL
Come to think of it , perhaps even make moulds of alot of your shapely finds......
What a full session, full of wonderful treasures.and deeply philosophical. Looking forward to the next video, stay safe xx
New item for your Etsy shop: T-shirt with the very pertinent type question. It would be a great bracelet or necklace with a bar of type.
Really fun video, but then they always are. 🌺
That would be amazing! Perhaps we could get some t shirts printed 😊💕
I would buy one...
@@NorthernMudlarks I’d buy one or a hat!!!
Yes! I agree! A baseball cap, t-shirt, jewelery! It's a great question to ponder!
@@NorthernMudlarks I'd definitely buy a t-shirt!
The world needs to find a way to bottle your passion and joy in finding these treasures!
I find myself saying “it’s a beaddddd”, when ever Alex finds one❤️✌️
Or.......I love it😂
My ten year old squeals it very loudly!🤣
.. its ANOTHER beaded.. + its ... a marble..
Hey everyone, let's send some positive energy, prayers, well wishes, anything your heart believes, out into the universe for Gail & Alex. One is for them to stay safe & healthy & another is for them to find another beautiful German marble.
I got rid of all my plastic containers and replaced with glass and I recycle everything I possibly can.
Me, too. 💞
"What is the alternative of all this?" GREAT question for such a treacherous year the world has endured!
A rethorical question to people complaining about the restrictions and measures necessary to fight the pandemic..!
I took it as the question in this age regarding rubbish, pollution of our land etc... One of those moments in time where everything connects to bring 'the point' across to those whom need it, Eg Us the viewers the rubbish dumpers of days gone by, can we resolve this before another 100yrs? Personally, I hope so.
I get nervous when Alex manhandles the merch...lol. LOVE you two!
Yes same here I don’t know but I prefare mama to hold and cary the stuff I feel soooo anxious when she cary them I feel she don’t really cary them well!!!!! I know it doesn’t deserve all this feelings but I can’t help it! Please Alex do good stuff well 🥴
I like the tripod view of you guys working from behind it makes me feel like I’m there watching!
their immersion level is always improving.
They became my top "Larking" channel
Except we cant join in, I would!
@@Cosmicorgasme I've made this comment on other #NorthernMudlarks videos, but I'll make it again; these ladies are the Gold Standard for mudlarking videos. 🥾 👢 🥾 👢
The two of you have such sweet calming voices.
Some amazing finds, yet again ladies, the ink bottle is one of my favourites.
I hate how things are made of cheap plastic today, it's drab and has done so much damage to our planet.
That is why i love what you both do, go out and find treasure, from the past, and history behind all your great finds.
Ladies! That type is so deep! It's unbelievable that you found it! You truly must have Mudlarking Angels on your shoulders!
Have you thought about making a resin tabletop or a resin wallhanging? You could mount some things in there.
I loved how you cast the BearMonkey in silver!
You both remind me of me and my daughters when they were little. We called it treasure hunting. They were close to the ground, so they always found good stuff. Beautiful bottle stoppers with a cross on top and a crown, opium bottles, purple perfume bottle, just to name a few. I miss going out like that, but l'm disabled now. Have fun and take care. ✝🎄🎅🤶🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁
Love how the bead strand keeps growing.
The alternative would be leaving all these treasures where they were, never to be enjoyed. Glad you found them. Stay safe. 🤩🤩🤩🤩
I loved it when Gail said “That’s Fab!!!!” ...... didn’t think she was that “mature” 😂😂😂😂
The open pontil vinegar is probably 1840- 1860. The bird on the Japanese plate is a stylized pheasant. It's a common motif in Asian ceramics.👍
I’m so jealous this is my ideal of extreme happiness
I hold my breath until Cake puts down the nicer pieces. When she says it's in "one piece: I always think "so far". . . . I do love how excited they get finding something while all muddy in the cold. . .
My youngest daughter and I are now avid watchers! So calming!
Alex, you are so adorable when you get excited! You’re still the bead queen! Thank you for another adventure!! Love the giant ink bottle, and the stopple bopper!
So exciting to see my maiden name “ McLennan “ on an old bottle . Love it !
The dagger on the green bottle would have probably been called a ‘Dirk’ as it was a Scottish Company.
I had to stop myself from saying out loud "Alex, what are you doing? It's not going anywhere! Slow down." I am shocked that bottle didn't have any chips out of it from the shovel. And then they would have been so crushed. A trowel or small shovel would have been much safer.
Really awesome huge bottle, though!
Also, love that blue marble.
If you Google "What is the alternative to this?", one of the options is America: A Journal for Americans. 1889.
Wendy King I did wonder where it might have come from. It would have been a piece from a book or larger narrative, I assume.
You found some great finds! I love the little teddy bear!
Alex, I love your sneeze.
Great finds nice to get a whole marmalade and that huge bulk ink, and the dump giving you and all of us a profound question to ponder
The bear looks like Bungle from Rainbow, now to find Zippy and George 😁 The cast Alex did really brought out the tiny features. Great work as ever.
Thank you! It’s always such a fun time when you post a video!
Alex has the cutest little sneeze.
My family calls that type of sneeze a "kitten" sneeze. I am the only one who does it to their amusement....
all your beautiful marbles would make a great place for bees to drink water! since they need shallow water not to drown, and such shallow water would usually evaporate in the hot weather, you can put marbles in a bowl and pour in some water!!!
since i’m a southern-hemispherian i’m thinking of summer time when u guys are cold ahhsjsshd, so maybe u could try it when it gets warmer
I pounced!!! I love your rubbish digs!!
I found a Ginger Beer bottle while digging one day missing the neck. It was a kind I did not have so I kept it. I was back at the same dump days later digging away and found a neck no where near where I found the bottle...I pocketed it thinking I could maybe marry the two together, when I got home and was cleaning things up, I retrieved the bottle and ...they matched perfectly! The bottle has a place of honor in my cabinet.
I just adore you both!! Peas in a pod!!!! Your voices are like music!!! Our family also have musical voices!!! I really enjoy your program!!!!
That stamp is such a treasure! Obviously, YOU TWO ARE THE ALTERNATIVE. Without you, it would just be a load of worthless trash in a heap of mud. I found an old rusty truck battery shelf with heavy duty springs coming out of it that somebody painted a half fairy, half angel on it and it reads, "What are you waiting for?" across the top. I have it hanging over my bed now. I use the springs to prop up notes to remind me of things I need to get done. I take everything I find as a message. I don't believe in coincidences. Alex has the number 2 come up a lot. Gail, you also have 2 come up on all of your dominos. It could have something to do with the two of you and I am shocked at how often you find the same thing at the same time. It's almost as if there is a theme to each day you go out. I have the number 13 constantly popping up. I was born on the 13th. Crazy stuff!
Thank you sooo much for yet another interesting, relaxing video. Lots of info.
Your voices are both sooo calming, keep sharing with most of my family, thank you again for your lovely content, also showing everyone how mother and daughter bond together ❤️😊
Penny x
Aww thank you so much Penny! We're so happy to hear to hear that! You're very kind xx
I do think a kintsugi repair would look stunning on the earthenware bottle.
Cute Teddy Bear I thought it was a monkey lol! You thought the same! Just adorable!! I remember Sloans liniment the name
Fun to see made in USA!
🇺🇸👍❤
We couldn't tell for ages! I looks like monkey without a tail lol xx
So fun to have a video just as I’m sitting down for a cup of tea! 😁 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🌟
Oooh my favorite ladies!!!!
Dear J.W.
👍👌👏 Mine too, definitely!
Best regards luck and health.
I like how you always include the plants and flowers of where you’re exploring.
Fantastic finds ladies! I love how the teddy bear casting turned out 🧸😀
I'm so glad you found both pieces so you can put them back together, that is a beautiful bottle.
Oooo I like the fancy lettering. Very festive!
Wow that blue marble is outstanding
The 1st bottle that came in 2 pieces would make an interesting trinket box if you could make molds before gluing back together ❤
I was thinking it is a perfect kintsugi opportunity- always works better with darker pottery. I’d love to see that done- the fusing of metal and clay. So special!
I could spend all day talking about your finds.
The Uncle Tom piece would be treasured here in the USA.
The beads, I am a bead fanatic, you definitely got some sweet Czech pieces and the Venetian one is spot on. I’m drooling at those beads!
The teddy bear or monkey, if you are selling those little castings, please let me know where I can purchase one!!!
Keep up the fascinating work!
Wonderful finds. It would be good to take a small ice chest, no ice , to put items in,
to keep them around the same temperature as when you take them from the ground. I really love your videos.
Great idea!
So good that you found both peices of the bottle and put them back together. Loved the views of you both digging. Thoroughly enjoyed :)
See you next time 🙂🙂✨✨
What a fantastic video ! And what AMAZING finds ! Wonderful ! Thanks x
That Neptune marble is brilliant Gail..
My late father took the pharmaceutical version of digitalis for years...that was pretty cool!!! Good job ladies! I hope you go back to that location again.
Love all the things you girls make, just beautiful things
It's a Phoenix!
I really love this dump ladies hope you go back ..loved watching .
The gold in the bead is called aventurine. Loved your finds!!!
All the aventurine I own and I find at bead stores rock shops etc is green
Hi love your videos. To date I always carry some smelling salts in my bag. They are really good for clearing your nose if you get a cold and generally just perks you up!
Such a wonderful video! Love to see a mother daughter team with this common passion you can share together. You do such a great job making your videos where you go from the thrill of the hunt to then showing all the cleaned up treasure and I especially love that you take the time to do the research and share your findings on some of the history behind the objects. Fascinating! Thanks for sharing!
What a great selection of finds! That dump really is a gold mine!
Ohhhhh you just found your teddy! I thought it was a monkey! Ok my bucket list now has fly over and go larking with you!! Such great finds from these digs!!! Congratulations!
Oh me too!!
The old bottles with minute cracks can often be stabilized with U.V resin. Keep digging ladies you rock.
I love your videos, I'm feeling sorry for myself today and seeing your lovely faces has brightened up my evening, you and kit and carbotle are so nice to watch ❤
You ladies are working that hole like a gem pocket. Good hunting !!!
You two are so much fun to hang with...love the finds...bravo on the finds...that is a great dump site...wow!
Thank you so much! So glad you enjoyed it 😊💕❤️
Bottle dump larking is my favourite, lots of interesting finds and loads of history it's the best, Thanks girls 👍👍👌👌xx
The ink bottle would be a beautiful Christmas decoration is you paint some poinsettias on it and put a bit of evergreen branch in the top!
I was really digging this video , wonderful finds on this day , and I hope you go back to that place again very soon , great work my dears !!
Wow, Alex has such a great eye for all the wonderful tiny treasures! Love all your wonderful finds!
You wanted to know what you could be called when you’re searching in dumps. You could be “Tiplarks”.
That’s so cute!
Midden larks !
How special to watch a mum and daughter share their love in finding studying the history and making things!just love watching!!love love!
Loved your finds ladies. So much fun to watch. ❤️❤️👍
Thanks so much! So glad you enjoyed it! xx
It's amazing that you find whole bottles they are so pretty. That type set is profound. It's gone from a dump to be cleaned up,and shown internationally. Talk about giving old things new life ladies that's what you are doing.
Beautiful, beautiful marmalade jar, so lucky. I was almost holding my breath as you unearthed it, hoping it was whole. You did well to find all that treasure and how you managed to spot those beads, eyes of a hawk 🤩
On my father's side, we are from Scotland. Before the (1800s) And the way things are said remind me of how pure and clean things used to be when I used to go and stay with my grandparents. Great English. And I love to hear the nice ladies, speak with such a sound dialect. Music to my ears.
I have that Japan plate with the painted scene! Cool find!
I would love to see you do a mosaic table top or plant holder of all your pottery finds!
Yes!!!!
Yes!! And for pots in the kitchen.
Type face and that MARBLE...OMG...LOVE IT!
I like how Gail doesn't let Alex pick up any more bottles after she broke the pottery! You have to earn that trust back!
Did anyone else notice that they bypassed the amber glass bottle that was in many pieces? I wonder what the story was there... LOL
Yes, she seems to be raking or digging a little too fast for me..it scared me that she would in her excitement she would accidentally chip or break what looked like China or glass. ❣️
Oh,please. Ridiculous.
Wonderful finds!! I do enjoy the history!! Thank you for sharing.
Alex your having a smashing time haha.
We loved this video, the range of finds from the utilitarian to the playful, thought the editing flowed really well too. Typeface is on our bucket list too. Just fab! 😍
A LIverpool woman now living in Perth w a. Love watching you both plus the scenery and interesting finds. It reminds me of my childhood after the war making things out of left over waste which was not burnt on the fire grate. Recycling them days was saving all buttons on old shirts etc cutting old cotton sheets which where worn then sewing them into handkerchiefs. Making old wooden dollypegs into dolls. My grandfather Maloney used to draw faces on them and make clothes from old sheets for us to play with, old beads used on them from my favourite treasure box... the button box which I played with all the time. Also using old hat pins such happy childhood memories.
Would love to see that quote on a t-shirt!
Same here! xx
Ha! My thoughts exactly!
The clay marble you found looks like Mars .Cheers
love the monkey happy new year
Wow you both found some beautiful finds well done keep up the great work x
Thanks so much! 😊 xx
Janet and I love and appreciate the work you do .
Thank you.
The marmalade jar would be cool as a candle or a toothbrush holder!
Thank you for that thought, Alex!
Dear Ladies,
Wow so beautiful items. I am so lucky with you.
Stay well
Liebe Grüße Jette
Ps i love the Teddybär too.
Kluge Worte!!!
Alex your sweaters are so pretty and you wear them to dig in bottle dumps lol. You needs some coveralls.
This was the MOST MEANINGFUL journey I have experienced with YOU BOTH.....SO many words to say......in just 1 sentence triggers thousands of years.

THANK YOU BOTH GAIL & ALEX 💋😘
Thank you so much for your lovely comment - it means a lot, and congratulations on your big 70! Never stop searching! xx
Lovely Ladies,
Wonderful video once again. I wish I lived in an area where I had a lot of places in which I could explore, dig and all of the fun things you to do. You found many beautiful things. My favorites were all of the different varieties of bottles. I love the texture the crudeness of how they were made. The drips of glass and the natural imperfections. The colors are so vibrant compared to the colors here in the States. I love how the both of you light up with joy when your treasures are found. All of your finds are beautiful in there own way. Continue making your wonderful videos and also have a Merry time doing so. Take care and stay safe.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!🎄🎅
Thank you so much Debra! The old bottles defiantly make our modern bottles look very boring haha. Merry Christmas! xx
As a marble collector, I almost spit out my tea! That is absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you, ladies! Keep up the great work!
Much love from Western PA, USA.
😊✌❤🙏
Oh I love all the bottles and containers , lovely finds , and love the history surrounding them xx
Spending time doing what I wish I could do so much fun! A little Teddy Bear so cute and I loves Him!
