Listen to the live of "when my train pull in". In this live for this particular song the solo is on another level almost to the one from Jimmy Hendrix and Carlos Santana. And the voice is perfection. Since i saw and listen to this live i became a fan.
What people don't know was there was a technical problem.. The P.A. dropped sound so they couldn't hear right. He extended the intro of the song til the sound kicked in on the other guitarist amp... then it came back on. You can see the yellow shirt guy make a face like wtf at the beginning and then works it out. Clark held the song together like glue and extended the intro and improved the leads. At some point They came back on. Also that second lead was improved and extended when the crowd lost it.. That's some balls right there keeping your shit together when things are going wrong and steps up and owns it like a boss that he is. Clapton wrote a note to him saying thank you. "brand shit" lol If you go with a brand like Ray-Ban, you buy quality and glasses that actually protect your eyes, unlike the ones at Walmart. +dudemanismadcool he means like he's kinda anchored into the minor pentatonic scale which is the first thing most people learn (towards soloing) like he's not doing some crazy stuff like Clapton where he jumps all over the neck and merges scales and triads. Gary Clark Jr. I just discovered him. Fantastic band and this man plays with soul, style, and heart. Ice Cool. Puts players like Malmsteen in their place.
I just love the tone of this song. Like he's aspiring to get big. And at his biggest gig to date at that point he remains stoic behind those giant aviators. He's just so blues. Its great.

It's legendary Casino!
When you know this man can afford a Gibson but he's still rockin of the epiphone, then you know it's something special

@@tim5360 True! Not your regular Epiphone tho...That Casino Gary is playing is from the 60s, same ones John and Paul used back in the day to record the beatles albums....probably around $25K, paired with that cranked VibroKing the tones are just insane.
Gary Clark Jr. I just discovered him. Fantastic band and this man plays with soul, style, and heart. Ice Cool. Puts players like Malmsteen in their place.
Gary and his band are underrated big time he has alot of good music. Love thier style it has a little bit of everything in it
One of the greatest songs ever. Everyone at this festival had better recognize how lucky they were to experience this.
They'lll allways remember it.
Thats what your call greatness.

This metalhead just discovered that blues is still alive.
👍🏻
Merci CrossroadsGuitar via Gaey Clark Jr 💖🎼
Gary Clark Jr is the epitome of American music!
Holy smokes , that's a sound that grabs your spine .
Love this song and any artist with two drummers means serious business
2 drummers..yes
A song I invariably crank up the volume when It comes on!
Gary caught you. You caught feelings
WOW, there still is hope for hearing music that is literally levels above the mainstream, corporate crap thats repeated over, over...
I just love the tone of this song. Like he's aspiring to get big. And at his biggest gig to date at that point he remains stoic behind those giant aviators. He's just so blues. Its great.
#GARYCLARKJR #BRIGHTLIGHTS You slay brother from another #Texas mother. 🎸🥁🎹🎷🎺🎸❤️💖💜🧡💙💚💛🇨🇱
and after all the incredible performance he closes with that billion-dollar smile and says "thank you"-- what a gorgeous man and equally gorgeous family. bless u all, love from india
Wow! just found this. I think Gary Clark Jr. has a new fan....
go forward brother
So powerful - One of the best live filming and audio...
Gotta love the double drum sets and that driving, distorted rhythm!
I've been in love with guitars and the playing of them for over 50 years. I can play most anything I hear, and that's a bunch. Gary blows me away kinda like Terry Kath of Chicago. Just scratch your head and enjoy the sound because you will not figure it out.
2:10 Probably one of the greatest music shots of all time. A gritty song about fame and pride and then a shot of him capturing the entire crowd in his visor. So cool
Whoa……
Agree...

You're right, I took a screenshot of it when I first saw it.
Couldn't agree more
I love this riff. So heavy, just the right amount of crunch, and then the fuzz licks interspersed...
Pls Translate your Slang☺
Jimmy Hendrix had a godson! So great to hear this song!
