Awesome prospective. I’m not a performer but I enjoy going to as many shows as I possibly can every year. I saw Gary 5 times this year and was lucky enough to meet him once. I know he’s huge but I still think he’s heavily underrated ! He’s phenomenal.. I can’t being to explain how psychedelic his show was at red rocks. It was different than the others. They jammed on every track for about 5min before and after. Hope to see him for many more years !

How few? How few people know?... this video has 15 million views... and it's a live version... the other versions have millions of views each, too. And that's just one song... albeit it's his biggest hit. It's not a billion views, but hey, still pretty well known.

    • @thadlogan51
      @thadlogan51 2 года назад +6

@@GizzyDillespee us I understand he's well known in the blues community... I even remember he played at the White House for President Obama. But he's playing some pretty small gigs now...such as the one in SLC I watched. And still when you ask people about him they still have never heard of him... and that's even among musicians. But I understand as you said he's not by any means completely unknown with the numbers of RUclips hits, etc... but he's not as well known as let's say John mayer...

Something I really enjoy about soulful players such as Gary is that he takes his time to approach solo parts, leaving room for the rest of the band to be heard and build up the climax for the song. The sort of "silent" moments help you feel the real beauty of what he plays.

Listen from Angra dos Reis, Brasil, today, 23/09/2024, every day, every year, i love it!!!
    Everyday nothing seems to change
Everywhere I go I keep seeing the same old things
And I, I can't take it no more
    I would leave this town
But I ain't got no where else to go, no
Wake up in the morning to more, more bad news
And I sometimes I feel like I was born to lose
It's driving me out of my mind
    Gonna catch the next train
And I move on down the line, yeah
    I'll be ready now
I'll be ready when my train pulls in
    I'll be ready now
I'll be ready when my train pulls in
I know my time ain't long
And I, I can't live this life again, no, no, no
Walking down the street you might wanna cross a smiling face
But they'll stab you in the back as soon as you turn, walk away
Oh Lord, it's bringing me down
If things don't change around here
Ain't no use in my hanging 'round, hanging 'round
    I'll be ready now
I'll be ready when my train pulls in
    I'll be ready now
I'll be ready when my train pulls in, yeah
I know my time ain't long
And I, I can't live this life again, no, no, no

Sickest guitar solo I have ever heard! Even out of the performances I've heard from him of this song and other songs. Something in him that day exploded on that stage and punched a fucking hole in the sky! In the Universe! I don't even know how to react to it sometimes when I watch. Should I laugh, cry, scream, explode!? God damn I am so thankful that I saw this! Gary, you remind me why I am a musician, why I'm alive. You remind me of what's possible when you put hard work, emotion, and creativity into music or life in general.Thank you! Life has been really rough lately and I needed this to bring me back to life.

Gary Clark Jr has been my absolute shit for ten years and I’ve watched this genuinely like 100 times. He doesn’t need to show off, but he fucking can. He’s such an artful player and his vocals just smoothly dance over his words... also just a god damned shred god. My heart feels sparkly and my face looks wrecked, and I just go elsewhere in the best way when I hear him play. We’re lucky for his work and passion.

I saw Gary open up for.. I dont even remember the lead act at the ACC center in Moronto back in 2014. Never had heard him before, was totally captivated by the soul and raw talent. Every live performance is a unique treat. I'll never forget the sound of that snare crack through my bones. Goose bumps every time... I've been ready for that train to roll in so many times but kept on going. Makes me emotional damn near every listen. What a fuckin groove man... healing video vibrations and I'm just glad I can comprehend the language
