I have been a dad smoking weed in the garage every night for the past 15 years. I’ve developed a very acute ear to quality, no one has covered and done justice to this song like ren. This man is the man.

There is a book I have called "Flowers in the Dustbin". And it is basically a comprehensive yet informal history of rock and roll, from like 1950ish to 1975ish. (Super early blues and then from elvis/buddy holly to the beatles and david bowie. And 1 dozen++ other artists)
There is one part in the book that explicitly explains how the jamaican dance hall and ska scene was viscerally linked into the UK as a function of record shops and how vinyl was pressed.
Ren and friends either marinated in music history and do something effortlessly...or they know exactly what they are doing. Or maybe both.
I wish Bob Marley was alive to hear this cover.

Bob would have been proud. Not only is this an incredibly creative cover but he's playing on the street, for free which is what was so important to Marley.
The crowd is what makes this performance so special. Every single one of them absolutely loving it! There also appears to be a lot of very attractive women in Brighton! 😅 I’ve grown a soft spot for the woman in yellow with black stripes 😂

This is what life should be like every single day.
First time I heard this I was living as a homeless person. I have a government phone that allows me wi fi and I seen this! I have since been trying to share to inlighten this world of true music to hopefully bring people together as one love! Shalom and Always Keep Moving Forward!!!

Only recently found these guys. I'm 54 now and usually have to go into the archives of music to feel alive and free .I have a wide spectrum when it comes to music,but this band has me in the heart n soul at at a heartbeat. So connected,so talented. The best band I've heard in over 25years. Truly made my menopause not to so bad. Lol

Same here folks. Growing up in the 70's and 80's with lot's of live bands, free concerts and some of the best music ever produced. I know talent when I hear it and passion when I see it.

I haven't been counting, it's easily dozens. It autoplays on most of my playlists now. I never skip it. It is simply a masterclass in performance. The fact that it's just impromptu on the street only serves to prove the point.

Just listened again, it’s easy to forget the rhythm section is the foundation of everything. The drummer is superb, so many tempo changes but he is solid as a rock. Picks up perfectly. You rock he rolls. And that bass.
Hold this thing together lads you have the Magic together, it’s a once in a lifetime thing.
Music is life, and life is better with music.
What you have together is the golden ticket, believe it lads.

I can't believe how good this is. I come back to it every few weeks or so and it amazes me every time. Really wish I was there to witness this masterpiece live! The way you guys play around each other like a well seasoned jazz band and transition so well from cover to cover is top notch.

What fabulous young musicians, I am 75 and remember the original, this was equally as good. So good to see these young guys making quality music, which seems to be rare amongst the new commercial brigade making so called music.

Little music in the last years, maybe in all of my 22 years of life, has moved me as much as the music of Ren and the people around him.
While some songs make me rethink parts of my life, such busking sessions put a warm smile on my face and make me want to move to the music even though I don't know how to dance. Thank you guys for bringing me such warm moments when I was feeling down. Really thank you so much!

3:29 Damn now thats how you channel the magic sauce to get the whole crowd into a climax together with you! Very rare for a solo to get an emotional response instead of a cheer out of amazement. The build up and release was just phenomenal!
I spend every day of my life listening to music and watching covers like this, whenever I’m not working. This brought tears to my eyes and that doesn’t happen often. Amazing performance and energy. Wasn’t for music ida ended myself a while ago.
feel exactly like this. its food for the soul. and transends above the day to day humdrum into a higher space. its why brings a tear to my eyes aswell as its so elevated the spiritual expression of music at this level that can give a massive contrast to your own life, if going through normal stresses and strains that can cause outburst of emotion.
as reminds us that we should be experiencing this state ourselves in our own lives, and not just a short burst through a beatuiful set like this, which gives us a temporary escape into a higher portal. need to make like itself day in day out the higher portal.
and its the plane these guys are in in this band, look at lead singers face at start or guitarist on solo - they are tapped into source. whats sad is even most musicians with life struggles, bills to pay etc dont get to tap into pure source often either

Funny how so many of you supposedly open minded 'alternative' folk actually hate anything currently being created by the underground (especially black british kids talking about crime - god forbid!).
Until it's well out of the way of course, then you start hearing what used to be considered 'nasty music that attracts a nasty crowd' blah blah at hippie parties lol.
Then it was 'Oooh that nasty grime stuff', until the youth stopped making it then it became 'oh no we love grime now, just none of that nasty drill stuff'
Absolutely foul trend amongst supposedly open minded british musicians, unfortunately.
That's bc most people are just followers and can't appreciate raw talent like this if it wasn't backed by some big fancy production.
There was an experiment where a casually dressed, world class violinist played an intricate piece in the subway and folks carried on and passed by without a second glance. The next night he played for a packed audience at a fancy venue where tickets cost a few hundred easy.

They haven't split, Ren said recently that if he is to do work with a group of musicians, these are the ones he would always work with.

It seems like my age group of 55 have fallen for this band and ren on his own and rapping is the best at taking you to a place where he is so good at painting a picture and telling the story. I have also cried listening to hi ren and how he gets the crowd reved up and making it feel like he is playing a area. Thank you ren for never giving up on your journey. I also have mental health issues and in active addiction and for the last 35 years I've only ever had 3 to 4 years clean if you add up the add months when life was to much for me and ended up back in a place where I no what is coming next but now I've found your music I can get a hour or two when I don't have to do or think about what shit is going to happen and I'm sure that other people feel like me cos I've shown a few people in my age group and they are all asking me to find more of your work and when I tell them about your struggled in life they say that they warm to you more. Please put as much music out in to the world for us to use as a Xscape from our lives. O yeah. You should run for Prime Minister lol

Dude, Romain's solo in their War Pigs cover is seriously one of the sickest guitar solos I've heard in a very long time. I was pulling a guitar face just listening to it! 😂
In my humble opinion, this is one of the greatest live performances by a band that I've ever heard, and probably will ever hear. Man, they play amazingly together. Seamless. Effortless. Beautiful. This is one of the few songs that can genuinely shift my mood, no matter the circumstance, no matter how dark the shadow cast by gloomy clouds, that inevitably encroach upon my peace of mind from time to time; As if it were a sweet and savory salve sent straight to my soul, to simmer and soak in sublime, healing rays of radiant, dopamine-laced audial sunshine.
My guy 😮 You sir, are a bard in every sense of the word. Feelings so beautifully conveyed.
