When my son left for basic training, he left his truck (that used to be mine) at our house while he was gone. He started smoking his senior year of high school while working part time at a restaurant where everyone who worked there smoked, so he did too. Anyway, I went out to use the truck one day and the smell inside was just impossible to deal with and I needed to figure out how to get rid of it. After cleaning out the truck, cleaning every plastic surface, the inside of the glass, the cloth seats, and changing out the cabin filters, the smell was still there. Then I remembered reading years ago that forensic scientists used to capture smells with charcoal, so I put about 20 charcoal briquettes into a small bucket and sat it in the middle of the back seat, closed the doors and let it sit for a week. When I opened the doors the following weekend I couldn't believe it, the smell was gone! It definitely helps to pull the cigarette smell out of the upholstery!

When I used to smoke, I ran a small janitorial service. One night I washed the walls of an office where a chain-smoker worked. In my ignorance at the time, I didn't wear any type of gloves. I decided to take a break after cleaning half the office and went to the lobby to smoke a cigarette. I had to quickly find a place to sit because I suddenly got lightheaded and couldn't stand without holding onto something like the receptionists counter. My point of telling this story is to remind anyone who works with chemicals to please remember your gloves. Your skin will absorb nicotine suspended in water and will get in your bloodstream...quickly. The part of the video where he was cleaning the floor mats without gloves made me think of this.
I use to clean houses and we had one client that would clean before we got there because he didn't want us to think he didn't clean up after himself. He was like 70. I think he mostly just wanted us there for the company.
Here in the US. i HIGHLY doubt anyone would put such hard work and “detail” into these jobs like this man does. This work that he does is INCREDIBLE . I am legit upset he’s not in the USA near me cause I would love to go to him! 😍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I came across these vids late last night, I was up until 2am watching them. Whoa...that is amazing the way he cleans all that stuff. I also can't believe how people treat they're cars. the young people maybe, I remember friends who used them as trash cans, I always kept my cars spotless, have a caddy now. Well done man. Even his workplace is spotless. Can play a mean guitar as well. Well done, son!
People around where I live will detail like this for 200 flat, maybe even 150if its not this dirty, you guys are really paying 500 for a detail like this? Fuck I live in the St.Louis area I need to start a detailing business where you guys live lmao
@@lachlanjohnson8019 That's for the basic interior/exterior detail. Interior shampooing is an extra $100. And then there's this: "Note: Excessively dirty vehicles (dirt/mud/pet hair) will be charged extra at a rate of $50/hour" I think this car qualifies as excessively dirty.
When I quit that habit some years ago I paid to have this done to both my cars, they weren't this dirty but did stink. Only after I quit did I realize how bad it was. Hopefully this person was getting this done for the same reason.
From a business standpoint though, it may mean they keep bringing the car in for expensive detail work so it's nice to be able to count on repeat business and more $$$.
@@Tailss1 let's hope so cause its a damn shame to ruin it again so quickly. and the smell cant be pleasant for anyone hired to clean or detail, especially if theyre a non-smoker.
@@Tailss1 I smoke on occasion because I enjoy it recreationally like alcohol. You know, a cigarette on the weekend after dinner or something, like having a beer with lunch. But I almost NEVER smoke in my car unless I'm on a long road trip where I want one while I'm on the road. If I do smoke in the car I always make sure to keep it as clean as possible. I have a car ashtray but it stays out of the car when I don't need it and I use a bottle of water with a little water in it to keep the butts contained. I throw that away at my earliest convenience. I also smoke with the window(s) cracked and when I extinguish the cigarette I roll the windows down to help circulate fresh air into the car. I also am very careful not to run the recirculation setting because that will trap the smell in the vents. Those small steps help keep the smell away even on the road. When i bought my car (used) it had been a smoker's car and it took two weeks to get the main stench out just by driving everywhere with the windows down, but the residual smell really only went away when I got the cabin air filter replaced. The smell sticks around for a long, long time but there are things you can do to prevent it from being so prominent. That said, no smoke smell at all is the best thing.

@@FlyWithSara Craigslist or facebook marketplace has em. Be careful shopping, because they are usually modified by teenage kids that want fast cars. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation of eclipse is typically modified. Mine is a stock 3g luckily. The v6 in the 3rd generation pushes about 200 horsepower. The 4th generation, which is the one in this video, has 270 horsepower with a 3.8 liter V6 engine. If you want speed, this is the best car, with a manual transmission. I never recommend the auto transmission for these but they are still quick, just less fun 😋. You are looking at the $6000 range for the nice ones, but they get cheaper depending on generation and modifications. Hope that helps.
@@FlyWithSara I drive the same kind in this video, but mine has the 6 cylinder engine and the manual transmission. They're actually surprisingly cheap, and you can get a good one for as low as $3,500. Just make sure to keep it well maintained and don't beat on it, and it'll be very reliable for you. I can't say much about the ride quality because mine is lowered and on an aftermarket suspension, but given that these cars sit pretty high on their stock suspension, it's probably somewhat comfortable.

Most of the time it is kids who get the car that dirty because they can be very messy (same thing happened when I was a baby and my younger brother
the lemon lickers yeah, kids and their damn cigarettes!
He should have worn a hazmat suit for this car !!!
Personally I’d use one anyway because if you use cleaning chemicals every day for work it’s really bad for your lungs.
I love how you're almost teaching us how to do it ourselves! Especially since I can't afford a detailer... :(((
When I used to smoke, I ran a small janitorial service.
Even if I bring my car to a company who cleans cars, I usually clean my car up a bit because I don't want them to look at me like I'm a dirty hobo...

Just in case some curious neighbour calls the cops on you, because they think someone is robbing a car at 2am.
I came across these vids late last night, I was up until 2am watching them. Whoa...that is amazing the way he cleans all that stuff. @@lachlanjohnson8019 That's for the basic interior/exterior detail. Interior shampooing is an extra $100. And then there's this: "Note: Excessively dirty vehicles (dirt/mud/pet hair) will be charged extra at a rate of $50/hour"
I think this car qualifies as excessively dirty.

This is my favorite video of yours. It was sooooooo satisfying to watch the carpet cleaning. It's also one of my favorite cars. Love your channel!
it has to hurt cleaning a car so filthy, getting all that cigarette stink out of it, to give it back to the owner who will keep smoking in it.
@@Tailss1 For about a year after I quit smoking the smoker smell that stuck to things followed me around , till I got all my stuff cleaned.

Dorian Waite this video made me want one, how do you find it?! dies it drives well?
