    @garrettgravley Month ago +258

    For those of you giving this lawyer flak for giving amorphous answers:
    State rules of professional conduct for lawyers have specific guidelines with respect to talking to the press: you can’t say anything that has a danger of prejudicing the proceedings and ESPECIALLY your client.
    This lawyer is not going to say whether he believes his client did it or not, because it doesn’t really matter what HE believes - even if he DOES believe it, he still has a duty to fiercely advocate for him. And he really even can’t give his personal opinion on the proceedings - he can say that his client maintains his innocence, but that’s pretty much it.
    He’s also not going to comment on evidence he didn’t receive from prosecutors, because why would he? The only evidence he’s seen relating to the shooting is what was on the news, and he’s allowed to comment on that for the specific purpose of undoing any prejudice against his client, but aside from that, he still has to walk on eggshells and not taint the proceedings by engaging with the media attention.
    Press conferences like this are a malpractice trap for lawyers. If you aren’t satisfied with these answers, blame the state bar’s rules of professional responsibility.

    • @staytuned1337o
      @staytuned1337o Month ago +29

      Such interviews shouldn't be allowed in the first place. Everything should be happening within the court of law. The lawyer should only have to speak to the prosecution, his client and the judge, etc. Now we have layman media asking questions about the case. Who are these people to ask anything? Proper statements for the public can be officially made at later times, but this right now is just to satisfy Hollywood glee.

      The only people wearing a mask in public ironically in late 2024 are those that have been vaxed a countless number of times, are also radical leftists and are really just making a political statement. It's the lefts trump hat. Another reason obviously to hide your face is to quiet social anxiety, those people took pleasure in hiding their face so much over the pandemic that they still use it today for that very reason. Lastly the very last reason would be the most obvious. To disguise ones own identity not for the social anxiety cure or public phobia cure, but in the event that the wearer of said mask is a criminal or is in the process of committing a crime. It's obvious this kid based on his past social media posts has had a happy life post pandemic WTHOUT A MASK. Now all of a sudden he's developed a strong covid phobia? I think not.

    As a German with access to a more or less good health care system, I‘m totally on the side of the millions of US American victims of greedy health insurance companies. Health insurance by law, like in Germany, isn‘t communism. It‘s not communism to know that you are taken care of. I can visit the doctor as many times as I‘m feeling I need to do. It‘s totally unimaginable to me, not going to the doctor, because you have to pay for it or are living in fesr, the insurance won‘t pay for it. People in the US for are need in help, tell others to NOT call an ambulance because they can‘t afford it. What is this? I grew up on american propaganda: America, the land of the free, the land of unlimited possibilities, from dish washer to millionaire. But in the end you people have a health care system, that‘s worse than what most third world countries has. And you even do it by choice. Because it‘s communism to don‘t live in debt because of a broken leg. Or because you studied, to be a member of society whos paying taxes. This whole „this is communism“ thing is destroying the fabric of your country. I mean you and I are chearing this guy. When do you start to overthink the way, you are living, the people you are voting etc.?! Why are you keep accelerating if you already can see the wall, you are aproaching? What is wrong with your country and the choices you people are taking every single day? Why aren‘t there acts like this everey day? What is wrong with you? The real problem is the way bigger guy that actually runs United Health Care. He is the actual CEO and runs everything from a parent company venture group called “United Health Group”. It’s a venture group and the CEO of that group is the real CEO. The CEO that got shot was beneath the main guy that set up the whole system.
    Brian Thompson who got shot was like a “fall guy” CEO so in case they got called to court, Brian Thompson would have to be the face of United and get publicly shamed. The real CEO is way more powerful and probably really upset. He may have this kid and or lawyer killed. When you try to kill billionaires who don’t have no morals and are already killing millions of people by denying them healthcare, they usually come back after you and kill you. If it is this kid that really shot Brian Thompson, he probably doesn’t even know what type of danger he is in now. He probably doesn’t even know that the CEO he shot isn’t the one who make the real decisions or that another bigger guy named Andrew Witty is the bigger CEO of the venture investment group , or that an even bigger guy than Andrew witty named Richard Burke is still alive and retire that set up the entire healthcare corruption scam system and helped create the laws allowing healthcare companies to deny patients and loopholes for them to win against patients in court .
    Richard Burke founded united health care when he bought Charter Hospital system a non profit, and he changed the name to United health and made it for profit. He had already been involved in a huge medical scandal before and he was the CEO of Glaxco SmithKlien and fined the biggest fine in history for giving doctors bonuses to prescribe opiates to patients Richard Burke left Glaxco, and got involved in the government think tank that created HMOs and the healthcare laws that allowed for profit loopholes. He then started United Health to exploit the new laws he helped create and to profit from denying people. This shooter killed one of the smaller guys involved. They are going kill that kid. These are the biggest drug cartel members in our country. American drug lords. This kid tried to kill one of them. This is why the main guys don’t put themselves front and center, they protect themselves by removing accessibility of themselves and letting a puppet CEO run the day to day stuff and take any heat or any bullets.

      I’m sure that they will. He seems to be much loved. I myself, from a police family, am dealing with my son getting himself into trouble, and it has absolutely devastated our entire family. My soul feels like it bleeding non stop. He is my only living child and is in custody. But nothing will ever make me turn my back on him, he is my life. And I’m sure that this young man”s mum feels exactly the same way. You cannot kill the love of a mother for her child.
