As an additional step on cutting carbon bars, I would spray with water the area to be cut; that will limit carbon dust from entering the air when you start cutting.

A cutting guide is something I don’t actually have an excuse to buy one 😂

A carbide grit hacksaw blade won't tear the fibers when cutting carbon like steel toothed blade will.

That’s a nice cutting guide when the bars are in the bike.
Off the bike, I like to use the pipe cutter to score the bars first and then make the cut free hand with a thin kerf Japanese saw, turning as I cut. I’ve cut quite a few carbon tubes and handle bars with way.

I just use two lock on grips, butted against each other, and place my hacksaw right between them and cut away

Wear and mask and eye protection for any cutting. But for carbon the cut should be wetted. I have seen shaving cream recommended. Also the vacuum must have an HEPA rated filter or carbon nano particles will be ejected back out into the air.
I have to cut my 780 carbon bar down to 750 soon. The OEM 800 alloy bar I hit my fingers on trees on our local very tight trails. The 780 I hit the bar end and fall at speed. I am recovering from some bruised rib from a crash last week. Caught a tree on the right and slammed a larger tree on the left.
