  • If you're looking for a place to do some summer camping, fishing or kayaking then be sure to check out Blue Ridge Reservoir - a short 40 minutes away from Payson, AZ along highway 87. At an altitude of around 6600 feet, Blue Ridge Reservoir (C.C.Craigin Reservoir) is a great place to escape the summer heat and enjoy some outdoor fun! The 790 mile long Arizona Trail also passes through this area along its route north to Utah or south to the US/Mexico Border and is a scenic yet very challenging trail! As we discovered on our summer vacation - this trail has many entrance and exit points throughout Northern Arizona (Blue Ridge , Mormon Lake, and Flagstaff to name a few!)
Rock Crossing Camp Ground - is a small, well maintained and relatively inexpensive camp ground only 2 miles from the reservoir and is popular in the summer season.

Cool area to spend time in nature. Looks like it's not the first time for you to visit it.

I’m not exactly sure, but I can tell you I’ve seen small fishing boats (14-15 ft) being launched and used with electric trolling motors - there’s really not a lot of room for anything much larger then that launching, and parking wise. It’s limited up there, unlike maybe Woods Canyon Lake. I would check online with Tonto NF for accurate information.
