- With so many performance cars costing millions, it can be hard to get the speed and style you want at an affordable price. Fortunately, there are tons of exotic kit cars that allow you to build your own beautiful track beast without breaking the bank! The RCR Superlite SLC is a LS V8-powered machine with vertical doors and a roof snorkel. It promises fantastic performance like a 257-mph top speed, 0-60 in 3.2s, and lap records at racetrack circuits around the world. And the best part- it starts at under $50,000! Does that make the Superlite SLC the BEST affordable track kit on the market?

I'd love to see a battle between these three cars equipped with same engine and same transmission: Factory Five GTM, Ultima Evolution and SLC Superlite.
Well, I guess I do not have to post this comment, as you have done it for me. I would add the Mosler, too.
Does it really make a difference? Each of these will have more than enough performance for street use, so it really just come down to personal preference and comfort, and some will not be comfortable for those over about 5'10(178cm) regardless of what the company says. If you're looking for a track-day car the same goes for what I said above about performance, and don't kid yourself that you need the ''quickest'' thing around the track, you're probably not that good.
The gtm isnt as well engineered and apparently has poor fit and finish the ultima is great but is old technology and apparently the slc has a much better chassis that is all others comments as I’ve got no experience with any of them
Well it’s a battle of aerodynamics and weight.
This has to be the best line up ever ! I got my money on the GTM
The Ultima RS is the best performance kit car in the world hands down! 😎💯❤
The RS is awesome, but a well spec'd version will cost twice as much as a decent SLC.
Facts
@@MuShinnen I never said it was cheap just the best!
@@popdog75 It definitely is. If I had the cash to buy one, I'd love to build an RS. I'd want to spec it out as a luxury GT version.
The Ultima Evolution is a more direct competitor to the Superlite.
Glad you made this video. I've been a fan of the Superlite SLC for years. Considering buying one for some heavy body modifications if the Factory Five F9R proves to be too expensive.
I've just discovered your vids tonight, aside from the fact you're covering things I'm very interested in, you genuinely have a natural talent for "this youtube thing", fantastic work, keep it up and I like the little bits at the end after the vid has "finished".
The SLC is a beautiful piece of engineering. I think the best value is to build one to use as a track toy or as a road toy. Meaning, no effort or expense invested in body work, paint or interior finish. Makes no real difference on the driver experience but massive difference in cost and build time. If you want one that is pretty with a supercar finish, then buy one used. They have no real resale value. Builders seldom recoup the cost of materials used and give up all cost of labor. It will still be used Porsche 911 turbo or Audi R8 V10 money. I'd rather have one of those if I want a daily usable sports car. The SCL kit car will always be a kit car with very limited resale value. So build it as a toy and use it.
This has been my dream car for years. Glad you made a video about it!
No problem! Thanks for watching 👍
How do you not have 1,000,000 subs? I love the channel man, keep it up
I'd wait for the Trifecta. I love the gill look on the sides. Add the Candy Red paint on it.. and OH MAN.. I love it. I need it.
I seriously considered one of these right before I ordered my atom 4 , I will definitely build one of these in the future with over 1000 rwhp
Hey kid I like your style and ya got my sub, keep up the good work!
Good videos! Keep up the good work
SLC & the Ultima RS are my favorite
I SEE GREATNESS IN YOUR PAGE BRO.
“I don’t think it was great but it seemed genuinnnne” hahaha earned my sub. It WAS a great video.
Love the car 🥰 I will go with a Grullon firts, then think about this one.
Imagine putting a H1 MAXI 3.5L flat-plane crank V8 from Hartley Enterprises with a full titanium collector exhaust in an all-carbon version of these
If u want cheep the 818C from factory five is the only way too go. But if you want a legit super car slc is the hands down best kit.
Thanks
Am getting one, fully forged with a turbo, aiming for 700kw ATW, Minimum. Added an awesome custom audio system.
I was at Road Atlanta in 2014 at “The Mitty” where the picture of the White Lemans version was taken.
The SLC I want cost 60k with options, then you add shipping, transaxle, engine and assembly and I’m up to 90-100k. This is not a inexpensive car.
compared to cars that have the same specifications as SLC, it is inexpensive
buy an assembled one from someone who wants to get rid of it
@@djsonicc Exactly. $60k on hand will get you an already completed Superlite SLC. Probably the only way I would buy one, as it looks and feels like a kit car regardless of who builds it.
@@conchobar I've been in search of one, where do people post their builds for sale?
I’m sorry but no one that has built a good quality SL-C would sell it for $60,000. You can’t even buy all the parts for that money let alone multi-hundred of hours of labor.
Awesome cars!!!!!
Amazing
Beautiful car
When you post these videos about these kit cars can you put the websites in the description to find out more information on where you can buy these cars if it's available? It would help a lot! Thanks!
Best kit car out there, look clean, cheap and really go on a race track
This and Ultima Evo
Factory five or ddr gt8ss
I'm still kinda' stuck on the FFR F9R. I can't wait to see this one.
I'm a build one of these in the future!
Would like to see a comparison video of Ultima Evolution and SLC Superlight.
the red one looks nice not to outdated
When did orange become red?
This would be a cool car to house 2 turbocharged Hayabusa engines mated together. I think Radical makes one.
The driver is pretty Superlite too
Nice
Nice indeed ✌
The DDR Motorsport Grunion GT8, 48 that is ruff , I don't know the details or if the LS and transaxles is include so I could be wrong here.
Still waiting to hear price on front engine Carbon Fiber Factory Five f9r at 2200 lbs. I could imagine a 1000hp Hellcat with an AWD 2018 Jeep Trackhawk drive train with a few modifications. JMHO
Last time i seen a video on this car it came with wheels too! You could chose from 3 different sets or colors can't remember?
Beautiful car. I guess expensive is a relative term. It relates to your bankroll.
OMG Vitalik Buterin, is that you?
There is a new option of transmissions. The new Corvette C8 mid engine transmission would work in the S.L.C..
can we get the SLC Superlite with an all electric motor? I'm interested in a supercar, but it has to be all electric - bern
do the superlite GTR next
Thoroughly enjoyed this upload! Thumbs up and a sub from me... Stay safe... Rico
For that price, im ready to buy one!!!
It's a lot of car for the money!
@Kit Kefner i thought they were running complete cars
@A C H i guess i was dreaming 😂😂
@@ozkrpalminteri9431 some companies have turn-keys program... maybe this not have it 🤔😓
For that kind of money, I'd get a $60K C8; which can go 0 to 60 under 3secs.
I see what you mean, But you see those everywhere.
GTR swap would be insane, expensive but insane!!.
the SLC is an awesome car for sure, but considering you can now have a brand new c8 corvette for 60k, it's the price of an slc built as cheap as possible, surely not as track oriented but definitely an awesome performance car and it's new with a dealer warranty
Just depends if you want to be unique and like a challenge...or be like everyone else. Least that's how i look at it.
That didnt age well lol. Back to the slc for me! Had the exact same thoughts till the dealers were price gouging the heck out of them.
"considering you can now have a brand new c8 corvette for 60k"
That would be a 1LT base level Stingray if you really could. But you can't. And if you could, you'd have the same car as everybody else who got one.
"Supercars are a luxury reserved for the1%... now that depends on your priorities. cars > houses
I love my cars but the reason I have a kit car is that I had to save money to invest in our family estate expansion. The estate appreciates in value nicely while my cars don't. It's sad but it's true, houses and property = long term wealth retention and appreciation.
@@hj2479 true. And with kit cars you knew they were tsrgeted towards legit car enthusiasts whow would beat the crap outta these on the trac than the show offs. It's sad cause the manufacturer spends millions on these things only to be ended up as a rolling collectible
Its looking like a ASL ARTA GARAIYA from 2013 gt500 series
It's a Spaceframe with tubular roll cage
Dam gotta win the lottery 1st
I built one, $65k is bare minimum.
How was the experience?
@@matiasfpm Of building? I like building stuff, so I enjoyed it
Slc is the best group c type kit car period
The kicker is the time requirement to build one. Cam Thai claims his took 2500 hours, significantly more than the claimed 220 or so hours.
Yes but his build was very extensive and personalized to his liking. Modifying fiberglass parts, making his own CF parts, coating or finishing of metal parts, etc. I believe most simpler SLC builds require 500-700 hours which isnt too bad. You might be able to get it done in 250 hours if youre an experienced builder. After all, this was designed to be to be hassle free as possible.
I would build mine with a Mercedes V12 and make my own Zonda .
Cool car! No doubt...but, I'm lazy. I'll just buy a Corvette. LOL =)
Set it up to tow a camper and MOAB to get to the dunes quick like, or go electrical and break the light barrier.
It's hard to take a narrator serious that hasn't gone through puberty yet....
What is the total price???
Bro I'm not yet on that 1% but I have a lamborghini
Guys just get any older ultima gtr and buid it to your specs there are for sale here and there between 40kdollars to 60kdollars thats what im thinking to do
Will definably stay with the Grullon for 44K. Drop 10K in performance parts and will have a better car.
Stick wtih K1 Attack
Love your channel
This one is a close 2nd
Superlite has more builders, more support
Race-off!
Superlite is made to handle more power...however your build could probably beat it
What’s with the bike?
Most modern V8s?🤔 So, can a person create a absolute MONSTER using a motor from a salvaged Dodge Hellcat?
Why he standing in front of that r3 so proudly 🤣🤣🤣
You have to start somewhere!
If it seems too good to be true then it probably is. 🤣. Coming from a Superlite builder / owner....
Superlite SLC kit car
Pls send me the info. Of the manufacturer
Mine came out to $66k with all carbon fiber options checked.
This car will easily cost you $100,000+ to properly build. Just look on thr SLC forum. Guys complain about that all the time. + this body style hasn't been changed in over 10 years. No thanks.
K1 Attack is dated. The SLC or the DDR Grullon are the only kit cars that have won at the track.
*r.i.p bikestand*
idk the weight of that car...but for me was more interesting some v6 toyota engine na or a k20 version on it(less300hp)....they sell that car only with big engines...would be nice and funny car with more lightness ,less costs and more affordable for who want just fun
Could u do a sequential/ dct
They do both. But Sequential would be a race dog box so not nice for the road.
the SLC looks like a copy of the ultima gtr
Needs ac airbags
What’s with the bike
But will it take a k-series? 🤣
What doesn't?
The numbers do sound impressive, but just looking at the car... you can easily tell that it's a kit car and it looks cheap imho. That's just me though and it might look better in person
Its. Not cheap looking like ur car
if you the performer read the koments , so can you tell the europian numbers also , you have lot of fans i europe
The factory five gtm is an alternative
If you want to spend same amount of work doing body work as you do to actually assemble the car. :)
Supercars often costing over 7 digits?? Most lambo's and mclarens are 6 digits... Most that actually go above 7 digits are considered hypercars
Nice, but 50k is still a lot though :(
That’s just for a rolling chassis.
Not for a fast car.
Every video has a picture of one price then he tells you a different price at the end
I would put there a diesel engine.
Lamb's are not just for the top 1% millionaires are in the middle class
Why would any one buy this in 2021 with the C8 Corvette being 65k starting. Serious question.
People who buy these are on ego trips. It's not about the $$$. They're spending a bunch of $$$ for performance they will seldom use. They want to the center of attention.
@@rickden8362 sounds like you're projecting.
@@Eyeolus Sounds like you don't know what you're talking about.
@@rickden8362 these kit cars have no comfort. No traction control, no power anything, they're very minimal. Regardless of what they're saying here, kit cars are built for the tracks, not for everyday use.
@@audience7264 You should go back a reread my first post above...you've apparently missed the point.
Price out the transaxle before you jump into the build.
z06 is going to bankrupt them
First off the superlite is not a kit car. Kit cars use a donor car for frame and parts. The superlite has its own design frame
The website even says "kits". Not ALL kit cars use a donor car.
"A kit car is an automobile available as a set of parts that a manufacturer sells and the buyer then assembles into a functioning car. Usually, many of the major mechanical systems such as the engine and transmission are sourced from donor vehicles or purchased new from other vendors."
It's not the best bang for the buck track car......that's a C6 Z06. But you won't go faster for less money and it'll make you a better driver. NOT a beginner's car!!!!
I don't see anything different that Superlite did here!!!???🤔🧐...It looks just like the Ultima, and or the Ultima RS kit Car!!!!!!....it's boring to put together a kit car that looks just like another kit Car!!!!!....They need to try again, and be more original this time around!!!!!!!!💪🏽💪🏽💯
ultima rs looks much better
Or or or now hear me out now....you could buy a brand new corvette.
Lol then the gtr comes and beats it
An there some gtrs for under 50 thousand would rather have that and nissna is reliable
very pretty... but the sad truth is still neck and neck with a C7 and C8 in terms of performance and price... with the Vettes having much more in terms of day to day usability.... but side by side... the SLC is the panty dropper for sure.
ultima rs is better
Fast but looks too early 90s
