I'd love to see a battle between these three cars equipped with same engine and same transmission: Factory Five GTM, Ultima Evolution and SLC Superlite.
Does it really make a difference? Each of these will have more than enough performance for street use, so it really just come down to personal preference and comfort, and some will not be comfortable for those over about 5'10(178cm) regardless of what the company says. If you're looking for a track-day car the same goes for what I said above about performance, and don't kid yourself that you need the ''quickest'' thing around the track, you're probably not that good.
The gtm isnt as well engineered and apparently has poor fit and finish the ultima is great but is old technology and apparently the slc has a much better chassis that is all others comments as I’ve got no experience with any of them
Glad you made this video. I've been a fan of the Superlite SLC for years. Considering buying one for some heavy body modifications if the Factory Five F9R proves to be too expensive.
The SLC is a beautiful piece of engineering. I think the best value is to build one to use as a track toy or as a road toy. Meaning, no effort or expense invested in body work, paint or interior finish. Makes no real difference on the driver experience but massive difference in cost and build time. If you want one that is pretty with a supercar finish, then buy one used. They have no real resale value. Builders seldom recoup the cost of materials used and give up all cost of labor. It will still be used Porsche 911 turbo or Audi R8 V10 money. I'd rather have one of those if I want a daily usable sports car. The SCL kit car will always be a kit car with very limited resale value. So build it as a toy and use it.
I've just discovered your vids tonight, aside from the fact you're covering things I'm very interested in, you genuinely have a natural talent for "this youtube thing", fantastic work, keep it up and I like the little bits at the end after the vid has "finished".
When you post these videos about these kit cars can you put the websites in the description to find out more information on where you can buy these cars if it's available? It would help a lot! Thanks!
@@djsonicc Exactly. $60k on hand will get you an already completed Superlite SLC. Probably the only way I would buy one, as it looks and feels like a kit car regardless of who builds it.
I’m sorry but no one that has built a good quality SL-C would sell it for $60,000. You can’t even buy all the parts for that money let alone multi-hundred of hours of labor.
Still waiting to hear price on front engine Carbon Fiber Factory Five f9r at 2200 lbs. I could imagine a 1000hp Hellcat with an AWD 2018 Jeep Trackhawk drive train with a few modifications. JMHO
the SLC is an awesome car for sure, but considering you can now have a brand new c8 corvette for 60k, it's the price of an slc built as cheap as possible, surely not as track oriented but definitely an awesome performance car and it's new with a dealer warranty
"considering you can now have a brand new c8 corvette for 60k" That would be a 1LT base level Stingray if you really could. But you can't. And if you could, you'd have the same car as everybody else who got one.
I love my cars but the reason I have a kit car is that I had to save money to invest in our family estate expansion. The estate appreciates in value nicely while my cars don't. It's sad but it's true, houses and property = long term wealth retention and appreciation.
@@hj2479 true. And with kit cars you knew they were tsrgeted towards legit car enthusiasts whow would beat the crap outta these on the trac than the show offs. It's sad cause the manufacturer spends millions on these things only to be ended up as a rolling collectible
Yes but his build was very extensive and personalized to his liking. Modifying fiberglass parts, making his own CF parts, coating or finishing of metal parts, etc. I believe most simpler SLC builds require 500-700 hours which isnt too bad. You might be able to get it done in 250 hours if youre an experienced builder. After all, this was designed to be to be hassle free as possible.

This car will easily cost you $100,000+ to properly build. Just look on thr SLC forum. Guys complain about that all the time. + this body style hasn't been changed in over 10 years. No thanks.
idk the weight of that car...but for me was more interesting some v6 toyota engine na or a k20 version on it(less300hp)....they sell that car only with big engines...would be nice and funny car with more lightness ,less costs and more affordable for who want just fun
People who buy these are on ego trips. It's not about the $$$. They're spending a bunch of $$$ for performance they will seldom use. They want to the center of attention.
@@rickden8362 these kit cars have no comfort. No traction control, no power anything, they're very minimal. Regardless of what they're saying here, kit cars are built for the tracks, not for everyday use.

This has to be the best line up ever ! I got my money on the GTM
The Ultima RS is the best performance kit car in the world hands down! 😎💯❤
The RS is awesome, but a well spec'd version will cost twice as much as a decent SLC.

@@MuShinnen I never said it was cheap just the best!
@@popdog75 It definitely is. If I had the cash to buy one, I'd love to build an RS. I'd want to spec it out as a luxury GT version.

SLC & the Ultima RS are my favorite
How do you not have 1,000,000 subs? I love the channel man, keep it up
Best kit car out there, look clean, cheap and really go on a race track
This and Ultima Evo
Factory five or ddr gt8ss
Imagine putting a H1 MAXI 3.5L flat-plane crank V8 from Hartley Enterprises with a full titanium collector exhaust in an all-carbon version of these
“I don’t think it was great but it seemed genuinnnne” hahaha earned my sub. It WAS a great video.

The SLC I want cost 60k with options, then you add shipping, transaxle, engine and assembly and I’m up to 90-100k. This is not a inexpensive car.

buy an assembled one from someone who wants to get rid of it

Race-off!
Superlite is made to handle more power...however your build could probably beat it
