I'm watching this video from an airplane! Thanks for entertaining me guys!
The future is incredible. -E
Love this kind of travel videos, no nonsense, just fun to watch, thanks!
+babosing yay! -Eric
+Kyde and Eric I know this is probably getting old with all the compliments you are getting from me but you guys are one of the best youtubers that I watch. Thanks for your videos.
+uhavemooface Glad to hear! Thanks! -E

+Chauncey Smith Haha
Black sweet sauce with "Kinako" is syrup extracted from sugar cane.
Takeda Shingen is a Japanese feudal lord, samurai warrior, who governed Yamanashi prefecture area.
Yamanashi prefecture was called "Kai-no-Kuni" in those days .
"Shingen Mochi" is named after his name.
This sweet contains small wooden tool shaped like sword instead of spoon.
''The blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice''
Why are we still here?Just to suffer? Every night, I can feel the innuendos... and the puns...even the obscure references. The hours I've lost... The time I've lost... won't stop telling me to be productive. You feel it too, don't you? I can't stop watching these videos...
(For real though, keep the subtle stuff coming katy, it cracks me up when it just comes out of nowhere!)
+Jaafar Kaoussarani Hahah, glad you enjoy! Hope it's not too much of a distraction! -Eric
Thanx for showing all these videos. i learn something new every day, plus nature, culture, and foods.

"Satoimo" that's what that potato thing in the noodles are called. It's a type of root, it look like little taro.
+jamsoup47 It's closely related to taro, and a lot of the colocasia species look very similar.
Saving to watch this later. A nice long, 48 min video for later. So excited!
+Craig Chastain Hope you enjoy! -E
Just what I needed. You guys make me laugh so much.
I use to watch CTFX but you guys totally rock,,,,,,, Thank you for taking us on your travels, Awesome.
+Shayne G Thanks for enjoying! -E
Great fun guys keep them coming!
+Luke Schaefer (WebLuke) Glad you enjoyed! Will do!! -Eric
+Kyde and Eric thanksgiving video
+Kyde and Eric so what are yall thankful for
+Shawn Brown Easy! I'm thankful for Kyde! -Eric
+Kyde and Eric I don't think barney has a wife lol. I think he is single. Or do you mean barney from the Flintstones?
Seems like Eric is always on point when it comes to food recommendations.
Ah, I was so happy to have this to watch while feeling lazy after a big Thanksgiving dinner. I think Jr. high lunch nostalgia for me would have to be a rectangle pizza, a soggy toss salad, corn, pear halves, and a carton of warm milk.
+Kelli Shaver Hahaha, that sounds like a familiar lunch! -E
Love your guys' videos. You both seem like great people and an example of what a good relationship looks like! Keep up the videos and wish you guys the best in your travels and adventures.
+M Romero Thanks so much! Very kind of you! -Eric
This is one of the most enjoyable videos you guys have done. Love these 'Vamping' trips as Kyde calls them. Please, if you can, do more of these them. Thanks for the entertainment. :)
I grew up in Kofu from 8 to 12 years old. Thank you for sharing your experience!
By the way, the waterfall is called 昇仙峡(しょうせんきょう:Shosenkyo), and it is one of the best waterfalls in Japan. It's used in TV commercials often. ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/昇仙峡
+Hirofumi Natsui You grew up in a beautiful place! THanks so much! -E
Happy Thanksgiving to you two transplants! Can't wait to watch this tonight after work with a nice plate of thanksgiving goodness.
+iTadakimAsu85 Hope you had a good Thanksgiving! Our Thanksgiving party is tomorrow! -E
This is an awesome trip! Love that you guys rented a van to sleep in. Such interesting places to eat too. Kyde's phallic grape snack had me cracking up so bad!! That mochi had me drooling. Can't wait for part 2.
+Perdomot Happy you enjoyed!! Part two should be next week! -Eric
In the flintstones Barney wife name is Betty and Fred wife name is Wilma. Have a great vamping holiday and Happy Thanksgiving to you both.
+Heather Rennie Thanks! Hope you had a good one too! -E
Thank you for the awesome video! Our son Chris wants to move to Tokyo and study, so of course we watch all your videos! The whole family is sitting here in the living room watching your video while our Thanksgiving turkey is cooking, so we feel we are part of your family and on the adventures with you! :) Cheers!
+Laurie Lance Wonderful! So happy we could be a small part of your Thanksgiving. Hope Chris gets a chance to study in Tokyo! Tell him to get to work on that kanji! Hahaha. -Eric
Kyde can open up a chicken stew store, and Eric can drive around in his Pikachu thuk thuk and deliver it. Bam new adventure!
+AnimeStarwind Hahaha, brilliant! I'm in! -E
This is probably one of the best videos you've ever made. I loved every minute, and it is great how you guys make eating something fun and even deep. Now, the chicken stew looks disgusting. I think I've ate something similar in my country and I don't recommend it. I think you order was definetely prison food. Now as to the grapes...well, grapes are natural laxative so, yeah, eating too much, will make you wrong for sure.
This video was another masterpiece, thank you guys for all the entertainment!
thanksgiving got a little better with your video thanks.
+Vegeta21ish Awesome! You are welcome! -E
Maybe I shouldn't be surprised at how much of your videos are about food. Now that being said, I recently explored the shelves of a local Asian supermarket in my neighbor and I remembered Kyde's graphic description of Natto in a previous video. I was curious about that, and the market had a four pack of the stuff for $3.99, so I bravely decided to try some. I don't know if the frozen Natto looses anything from being frozen, shipped here from Japan, and being thawed out, but I was rather surprised. So many people on line described a 'rancid odor' and 'disgusting taste' to this stuff, but I detected none of that. The 'spider web' texture must quickly melt away when exposed to your saliva because I had no 'gag' reflex to putting it in my mouth. The odor wasn't overpowering either. Quite frankly if you like strong, sharp cheeses (I do), the taste of Natto isn't bad at all. Thanks for the education!
+Kenneth Scharf Yea, it's not HORRID or anything, it's just odd. I think the part I like the least is the texture. -Eric
I didn't have to look it up. The Rubble family! Barney, Betty, and Bam Bam.
Great video❗️
Oh my god, you even knew the kid's name!
this episode was amazing! very funny. Kyde was in the zone and i laughed so hard with the delicious lava moment. Eric, you have the best t-shirts! Thank you guys for this great video.
+Jaime Carrasco Glad you enjoyed!! Thanks for the props on the shirt, I love that shirt! -E
"that's a lovely crotch shot"
*Eric quickly moves aside*
lmfao! Great video AS USUAL :)!!!
+TabbyAngel2 Haha, gotta keep the boys off camera! -E
@@kydeanderic lmao XD
That scene with Eric and hairspray made all the difference :) ♥you guys
+コレンコぺーター Haha, thanks! -E
the names you guys give to your vehicles are the best haha
+StudioSambodia Haha, we really enjoy naming them! -E
I love how objective your reviews are; also when you lose that word because you're reviewing something. "You know, that snake fish that you like...". "You mean eel??" LOL!!
Happy Thanksgiving!
PS: I'm thankful that I get to watch your cool adventures half a world away!
+Chris Lim Haha, yea sometimes words are hard. Glad you enjoyed! -Eric
What a beautiful trip! did I hear Judy Garland singing in the backround at that restaurant? very cozy:)
+Skye Hagenstein Yep, they had old American music playing in the restaurant. -Eric
I really think that you describe things well and make them really interesting, I like it when you talk about that onigiri in the beginning of your video and also when you talk about the grapes and taste testing. really neat. seriously you guys have to have your own travel show on tv or something...
+Tua Parulian Haha, we kind of do have our own travel show. Haha. -E
+Kyde and Eric Hahaha...that is true, ...that is true...
A new video on thanksgiving from Kyde n Eric ... Cool.. happy thanksgiving guys and hope yall are doing fantastic!
+strocat25 Thanks dude! Had a good one, hope you did too! -E
i have a friend who came from yamanashi and she brought me those exact mochi as a omiyage! it does taste so interesting and surprised me with its flavors!
+nano-mugen Nice! They are pretty famous! -Eric
Happy Thanksgiving guys! - Hope your day was great!
Also, leftovers + new video = YES.
:D
+lbonini1gaming Our Thanksgiving party is tomorrow with some friends! Hope yours was good! -E
The cotton candy grapes sound delicious! Also that shoe vacuum thing was pretty interesting! Happy Thanksgiving guys!
+collectivelight I want a shoe vacuum for my house! -E
happy thanksgiving guys! thank you for the great videos!
+Ivan sanchez Thanks so much! Hope you had a good one! -E
You are onigiri-ing. Brilliant.
I really love to watch how you try to enjoy your life.
If you learn Japanese history, you can enjoy life in Japan more.
Yamanashi is famous for Takeda clan.
Shingen Mochi and Houtou is Related with Shingen Takeda who is the famous daimyo.
anyway thank you for posting interesting videos. Sorry for my poor English... XD
+Black Kitten Your English is just fine! Thanks so much! Need to study more history! -Eric
that croquette looked yummy and when kyde pierced it there was a nice crunch
+VRRV The crunch is important! -E
They have those long grapes in my grocery store. They called them moon grapes. They're expensive so I haven't tried them.
Them red finger type long grapes were amazing looking !!!!!!
+astroboy3507 Yea, but a bit creepy looking too for some reason. -E
+Kyde and Eric lol agree !!!!!!
we have cotton candy grapes in america.. they're called "cotton candy" too.. the ones i tried were green but taste exactly of cotton candy.. pretty cool
+strocat25 Oh, nice! -E
Mochi !!! I loved the mochi factory part ! I just love mochi so much ! :D
+MaaikeInJapan Yea, that was awesome to see! -E
I truly enjoy all your videos. Lets adventure!!
+Han Solo Yes, let's! -E
if u like the water fall n scenery there, u will love my suggestions of kawasan falls, cebu n the Enchanted river😆when u be there soon.😄
Way to go brain! I was able to remember a side character's name of a cartoon I watched 18 years ago, but trying to remember the answer to an exam question I just read two days ago is like mission impossible... GG
+The Kosac07 Haha.
happy Thanks Giving you guys Hope you have a super Day/Night.
+Puck aNm Thanks! Hope yours was good! Our Thanksgiving party is tomorrow! -E
Löl Eric could seriously lay down straight in the mini van?
really enjoyed this video. got my thumbs up.
+Don Milligan Yea, I just barely fit! -Eric
Kyde and Eric I shoulda said micro van, that thing is waaaay chiisai!
Yamanashi is amazing! i definitely recommend fuji q highland for the roller coasters and the view of mt fuji Glad you guys had a great weekend there :)
+MrNyantoast Yea, Fuji Q is amazing! We plan to make a video there sometime for sure! -E
+Kyde and Eric awesome!**Will be looking forward to your videos :)
I did NOT cheat. I remember that Barney Rubble's wife is Betty. (I was watching TV on the night The Flintstones premiered on a Friday at 7:30pm in 1959. She was originally voiced by Bea Benederet, later of "Petticoat Junction.")
Grapes are a natural laxative. They will "set you free."
Patron Bob
+Bob Bell Haha, yea, the grapes were....lets say "inductive." Hahahaha. -Eric
The noodles were "Al Dente". Almost fully cooked but not quite so there's still a bit of bite left in it.
+Kowzorz There is a word I will certainly remember! -E
Oh man i just got pizza and i see 48min of kyde and eric in my video feed. YASS :D
+kaziza yiiiiiiiiisssss. -Eric
I can't wait for your Philippines videos! Happy Thanksgiving to the both of you. :)
+Youa Vang Thanks! We can't wait to get there! -Eric
more travel videos in Japan! love those. also i think you two are extremely like in mannerism.
kyde n eric, i totally said BLAH-Dowe the other day, it felt really good 🤠😎
They sell cotton candy grapes here in America too. Probably that same variety.
+chiisaichi Nice! That was my first encounter with them! -Eric
Really really enjoyed this video. I've been saving the Yamanashi and Kyoto vids until I got on winter vacation and it was so worth it. I've smiled and laughed the entire way through this and just want to let you both know how much, as ever, I enjoyed your amazing adventure.
Random question time! Apart from each other what are your 10 favourite things in the world? All will be revealed later. Disclaimer I am not creepy stalker type nor the true identity of Squeaker and man Squeaker looking for new peace offering inspiration.
+Samantha Adams (Clutchie) Super happy to hear you enjoyed the new videos! 10 favorite things? That's a lot, can we just name one thing each? Haha. -E
+Kyde and Eric Haha, fair enough. Sure!
Hey Guys! The "berry a" grape you tried is actually called Muscat Bailey A. It's a hybrid grape created to withstand the climate of Yamanashi and produce tasty wine... for more Japan grape facts, check out this Begin Japanology episode on grapes: ruclips.net/video/RtS8SdIHWv4/видео.html I think some of it must have been filmed close to where you guys were!
+Steve Krecklo Nice! Grape science! -E
Love all your videos
That was a nice introduction to Mochi I never tried it ever in my life. So when I come to japan I know what to look for. That sauce looked interesting. was it sweet sour or no taste at all? Seeing eric T-shirt after he ate the Mochi! Kind of threw me off. I was drinking my honey lemon and warm peach tea, and instantly I LOOKED AT THE SHIRT. I thought I had creatures in my body.. ..
Just to mention if you guys haven't seen the walking dead mid-season finale oh it was a good one!! would you two ever do a video including your thoughts on T.V. shows your caught up with. mmm that soup Eric was eating looking good...I have had tried Eel eel is good. Onigiri!! got to also try!! Snakes or no snakes I'm alright with it...I'm a fish so fishes just eat casually we know what's good for us...our eyes get big if it's bad lol....
+tyronep22 It's not super sweet, I don't even really know how to explain it. Almost like a brown sugar or honey without the sweetness? Does that even make sense? hahaha. I think if I told Kyde to make a video about TV shows she'd make a 3 hour long video rambling about shows, she loves TV, hahaha. I'm pretty sure she is caught up with The Walking Dead, but it's not my kinda thing. I don't watch much really. Lately I have been watching Peep Show's final season, and I recently watched Rick and Morty and Master of None. Usually I don't watch TV at all though. -Eric
Thank you for sharing the video. I love your video. I really would like to watch videos of Kuma no kodo and Yakushima Island if you have chance to go there.
+patchy2185 If we go, I can promise we will make videos! -Eric
7:45 so hilarious still laughing!
Her name is Betty! Barney and Betty!
+CNVideos Hahaha.
You guys really need to get a mini quad something big enough to hold a go pro but small enough to carry.. maybe a 250 size quadcopter with gps.. Just think of the awesome footage you could get in that valley with the waterfalls!
+Designandrew Maybe something like this: www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__68596__Quanum_Trifecta_Mini_Foldable_Tricopter_Frame_KIT_.html with a runcam 2 camera, would give you 1080p @60fps good quality. Can't fit a gimbal really at this size but I think you'd find it's smooth enough if you use a naze32 flight controller.
+Designandrew They are pretty easy to build I'm sure eric could manage building one, plenty of youtube guides just need some basic soldering skills and you're set..
+Designandrew Haha, yea, I think about that a lot. The reservations I have are the costs, having to carry more gear, being skilled at flying the thing and breaking laws. In a lot of places in Japan using drones of any kind has recently become illegal and in other places people are still hashing out what kind of restrictions they have. I agree though, we could get some bitching footage. -Eric
Kyde and Eric Yeah last thing you'd want is to get kicked out of japan by breaking laws, but in terms of cost you could build your own capable of 1080p@60fps for about $500 that's with GPS etc so you can have return to home.
Driving on that road with that type of scenery seems so awesome, I'm jealous. Then again, I bet I would accidentally drive on the other side of the road and cause a huge car crash :P Also, couldn't stop but looking at the person on the 1st restaurant. She was always looking your way.
+Francisco Araújo Haha, you'd be surprised how quickly you get comfortable driving on the "wrong" side of the road. It feels way more natural than you'd expect. -Eric
Happy Thanksgiving!
+Cherri Kinney Thanks! Hope yours was good too! -E
Happy Thanksgiving !!
+TheSumom1 Thanks! Hope yours was great! -E
信玄餅のソースは黒蜜(Black honey)です。
+吉野信之 ありがとう! -E
aww man I used to work in a factory many moons ago, production lines are so so SO incredibly boring.. I feel for anyone who has done or will do it. Sometimes your mind blanks out for a while but time passes SO slowly.. it might look cool but it's honestly such a bad job. I'm an IT manager now but I still walk through production lines sometimes and I see the people looking at me and I think to myself "I was once one of you! I remember your pain!"
+Designandrew Haha, I can see that...but a small part of me wants to work on a production line for like...a week or something. Just to feel the rhythm. -Eric
Kyde and Eric Yeah you really don't.. but it would make a good video!
The one @ 31:39 (mushroom, meatball, potato, fish-ball, testicles??) is 里芋 (サトイモ/satoimo/eddo)
+Sami Kozono Ahhh, thanks! -E
This is really creepy! I watched "Himitsu no Kenmin Show" on TV tonight where they featured Houtou from Yamanashi and I thought of you two while watching it because you guys mention kabocha so often in your videos and I always knew that at least Eric liked miso. Then I went to take a bath. had a late nigt snack and logged into RUclips just to find this new video about Yamanashi, houtou, etc. マジでビックリです!
+masaegu Spooky! -Eric
I really enjoyed this video I hope one day I get to go to different parts of Japan to experience all those amazing foods and scenery! Mostly interested in the food :) although I am going to America at the end of this year and I'm going to places like California, Las Vegas and Arizona. It sucks for me cause I'm in Australia and the economy for us has fallen dramatically which will make our trip a whole 30% more expensive. Although I've heard that you will only need to pay for one meal in America because it is enough to feed two people so hopefully that will lower our costs :) anyway enough about me and yeah I really enjoyed your video and can't wait for part 2!
+Torterra Plays Mc Hahaha, yea, prepare to be shocked at the size of food. You can eat cheap if you look for deals in the states. Be careful about your waistline though, America can fatten people up fast! -E
haha :D thanks for the info
+Torterra Plays Mc
Too bad you're coming in the winter! Sounds like you're sticking to the west coast though, so it shouldn't be too awful.
Anyway, Don't be afraid to ask for a box for your extra food (unless it's a "food bar/salad bar" where they won't let you. unless you eat like a cow, they're a waste of money), and always tip your waitress if you have one. Don't eat too many burgers (they're probably the most boring kind of murican food). Ignore "gluten free" or "organic" places, because they will rip you off and the food is awful. Find a national park or two and enjoy the scenery, but be careful on the trails. Bears will be in hibernation, but mountain lions will not. America is more than ugly old Los Angeles, New York and Chicago. If you come across any homeless people, please treat them kindly.
so, what kind of sense does it make when you have to pay more to pick grapes when you are doing all the manual labor, but pay less when they do the picking for you. Shouldn't one pay more if someone else does the picking and then charge you more to cover the cost of the person doing the picking...???
eric and kyde kombini foodies vid's the best :bacon cheesu onigiri seems totemoi oiishii desune
Never have I been eating pizza and wanted to be eating grapes so much.
Your road trips are so fun. That grape tasting sounds expensive 0_0
+bugs294 Yea, we love road trips! But those grapes were a bit overpriced. Haha. -E
I never understood Erics fear of seafood, until I learned there might be snakes in the rice balls.
+Hans Petersen Haha, for serious! Scary stuff! -E
Betty! Didn't look it up or read any comments. :) thanks for fun video
+DreamingMagpie Nice! Glad you enjoyed! -E
too many grapes won't kill you but it will give you the trots
+Travis Tibbs Dag
☓ Ki-Ki-Kyouya
○ Kikyou-ya
Kikyou means Balloonflower.
By the way, have you been able to see Mt. Fuji from back side in Yamanashi ?
+mop09drg We got some pretty awesome views of Fuji on the second day of the trip. It will be in part 2! -Eric
happy thanksgiving
+alvaro serrano Thanks! Hope yours was good! -E
Thanks you guys very nice !
i agree good entertaining
+eugene glenn Thanks!
34:29 One day, an unfortunate tourist will wedge their ¥1 coin in there and the whole cliff-face will come sliding down. :o
Haha
The blacker a berry the sweeter the juice.
In the deepest voice possible. -E
You shouldn't worry about unagi, it's good. I was afraid of it too especially since I am kinda like you about fish, but it tasted nothing like fish, it was just savory wonderfulness. It's just the idea of "eel" that's scaring you.
+ikaruseijin01 Yea, it's super scary. Can't do it dude. -E
+Kyde and Eric If you can't then you can't, but I think you'd like it. When I had it I didn't even know what it was until I ate most of it.
I think it was Betty! I "cheated" only as far as looking up a picture. Once I saw her, my childhood came back to me.)
But I like the name "Barney's Wife"!
+Yesica1993 Hahaha, yea, our best van name ever?! Maybe! -E
Betty! I did know it. watched it at lunch break during public school...oh ya Rubble is the last name....
+Monique D Haha, nice!
Omg! I felt like shouting BETTY! Barneys wife is Betty!
+chiisaichi Hahaha.
Nice! Happy Thanksgiving! Did you guy do another "traditional" Thanksgiving dinner?
+LancerJak Haha, got a chicken this year! But the important part is spending time with friends and we got that nailed! -Eric
Hello Eric! (Probably) I've been watching your videos for quite a while now, and the idea of a trip to Japan is becoming a reality. So, what I'm asking is , what are some cool things to do in Tokyo? And mainly what's it like communicating with people? Is English used somewhat commonly? And what are some good ways to communicate? I speak 0 Japanese other than "Korewa pen desu" and I'm quite an anxious person which doesn't help.
Thanks.
+SuperUltraRollingBomberThunderCorporation Don't sweat the language. Learn your please/thank yous and bring a smile and patience. You'll be fine. Here's a document of things to do we wrote. docs.google.com/document/d/1DOUoFuDJ9I7hTIUCFkyAdnY_Q2jvZ-c84bezj8PyuPU/edit
+Kyde and Eric alright, luckily I do know my basic Onegai/Arigato's and I'm about to read the document. Thanks.
why didn't you sample the grape varieties before doing the picking?
+Richard Radzinsky I dunno.
+Richard Radzinsky Haha, I don't think we'd have anything to offer to them. -E
Betty Rubble
+kelel Did you cheat?!
+Kyde and Eric nope!
Don't get me wrong, you two are great together, but after seeing Eric's hair "regiment" from this and the other "vamping" video - Kyde, what did you see in him?
+David Cervera You seem to have weird standards. -Eric
Can you guys make a video or do you already have a video explaining what you did before you went to Japan (preparing) and why you went?
+Hypic I know what you are looking for is a "preparation" video, but honestly we moved here very abruptly so there really wasn't any. Before coming to Japan we traveled a lot and have a bunch of videos about that. ruclips.net/p/PLrvJJu2Pt1jgx3WoKuvCFjKER2gGf4lZ5
Kyde and Eric Oh ok. Thank you for responding though!
+Kyde and Eric
It would be nice to know the name of the restaurant with the thick noodles that you liked so much. But it is very fun to follow you on your adventures!
Sorry, I don't recall. If you come across little things like this in the future drop a timestamp where it was discussed and it makes it a lot easier for me to look and see if I can sort a name or something. -E
I heard your laugh in my mind
I so want to visit Japan.
+Pozzo Lahiri You shoud! It's wonderful! -E
at six feet seven inches how did eric fit in that van ?
What was the little oma ? you ate at the beginning of the video from 7-eleven? It was bacon and cheese.
+Tee W The Onigiri?
