you show a unique aspect of Japan . I love that !
+Lily No Bouken Awesome, happy to hear! -E
Hey, I love that last bit of the two of you in the car eating dinner. Its nice to be able to see both of you at the same time, interacting with each other, instead of one at a time, talking to the camera. it just looked even more natural than usual (you guys are great at acting natural in front of the camera anyway). I would love to see more of that, just like this video, as a end-of-trip recap kinda thing. And Yamanashi looked like a great weekend get-away trip. Reminds me of when I used to live in Knoxville, and on the weekends I would go to Gatlingburg and the Smoky Mountains. Although Gatlingburg, much like your previous Yamanashi trip, is super kitchy. And it doesn't have any mountains like Mt Fuji.
It's a happy day because there is a new Kayde and Eric video!
+StudioSambodia yay!
You guys are so great at describing things! Kyde could teach lantern making because she was so relaxed and genuine in her descriptive! Kyde was also spot on in communication! We went to Japantown this last weekend and I felt a shopkeeper was very aggressive, but realized it was a misunderstanding. Good lesson! Thanks Eric & Kyde for another video! :)
+Laurie Lance Yea, I can't imagine a Japanese person ever being aggressive, it was likely just overt accommodation. Haha. Glad you enjoyed the video! -Eric
The little town with all the tiny houses scattered around looked so peaceful, I loved it!
+Marnix B Yea, the countryside is speckled with those little towns! -E
Your vlogs are interesting, informative, fun to watch and your personalities on top. No one is making vlogs like you guys. And I love that they are long so we can sit back, relax and enjoy. Thank you
+ghaida h Wonderful to hear! So happy you are enjoying them! Thank you! -E
Whatta wonderful adventure ... i can say THIS is make the life worth living
+Our Japão Thank you!
This trip was so nice, calm and lovely! Reminded me of just going up into the So Cal Mountains for apple picking. I love how the pear people took such care with their fruit...so cute!
+Jennifer Thomas Haha, yea, the pear people were a delight! -Eric
thanks for all the videos....i enjoy them
+Tee Camara Thanks! Happy to hear! -E
+ray thomas I'm not sure but Ursula sounds right to me.
every time you guys post, it just makes my day :)
+dizz J Yay!
Eric doing hand whistle at 12:26 ,it looks like some Ennio Morricone : The Good The Bad And The Ugly song .
Awesome little adventure guys! I enjoyed watching it while studying for finals. Can't wait for the next one.
+yo ma Glad you enjoyed! Hope your finals go well! -E
In case you were curious, I aced my finals and graduated university! Currently planning my trip to Japan for next year! Thank you Kyde and Eric for giving me a taste of your adventures!
Very nice video. I'm always looking forward to this movie.
+tsutomu mizobe Happy you enjoyed! Thank you! -E
You two are the best!
+Rita Elisabeth Thanks!
Awesome vid guys it makes me jelly seeing all these amazing places
+Sergio Perez You've gotta have some beautiful places near you! -E
You know what... your right :)
I just need to be more adventurous!
Thank you for all you do. You really helped me after my husband passed away. Don't remember how I came upon your videos, but they helped me through a lot of lonely nights. Still do. Now I can't wait for the next one. Thanks from this old lady who loves watching you on your adventures.
+Billie Jones Wow, lovely to hear! It is amazing how our videos have been able to reach so many different people. Thank you so much for sharing. -Eric
What a gorgeous mantis! I want to see Kyde give that mantis a hand shake!
+AnimeStarwind She passed up the chance! Crazy! -E
Sleeping in the car by the road, traveling the country in a minivan, wearing a beard... Watch out, someone might mistake you for a lost hippie Eric. :P But damn, it looked so comfy to sleep inside Betty. Oh wait, that didn't come right...
Chill video you guys~
+The Kosac07 Haha.
You two are the funniest BAD ASSES in my book:-)
+Umberto Calvini Hahaha, thanks! -E
love your vlogs !!!
Hi E and K! .... :-)p
you know what, the Jap board of tourism owes you guys a great deal, really. I've never heard of Yamanashi or any other nashi before and now I want to go there but at the same time you are also frank about it saying that it's not stunning and stuff but if you have time and want to relax, you could go there...for me the part when you explain about your paper making lesson and the ear noodle tasting, and the cave tracking (too bad the lighting is not that good there, understandably) are the highlights. And the closing remark before you eat your dinner? Perfect closure to the whole video. Well done!! I think I'm subbed for life as long as you continue making videos.
+Tua Parulian Awesome, glad you enjoy! Wish the Japanese tourism board would help us out a bit, hahaa. -E
best van tour
Really awesome guys!
+Ellen Brennan Thanks! -E
The song you hummed at the beginning is Ode to Joy, from Beethoven's 9th.
+CNVideos Also known as that town's wakeup alarm! -E
+CNVideos Also the "National" Anthem of the European Union.
+ikaruseijin01 Also known as 喜びの歌
Rockin out to Joyful Joyful we Adore thee ahhh yeah!

+kelsey Thanks!
I watched some of your other videos there great keep it up u got a new sub👏🏽!
+baseballpro 42 Awesome! Happy to hear you are enjoying the videos! -E
I ve also been to Oishi i gakkou more than 10years ago.How nice lantern is it !
+Kaneko Kimiya Oh wow! Was it the same? -Eric
Another great video. I'm getting so many ideas of things to do in Japan if I ever get the chance to go... things that are outside of the box that the normal tourist wouldn't thing of, or even Know to do, so thanks for that ^_^ Also.. I was thinking about this at the end while you guys were summarizing the weekend.... if you guys decide to stay in Japan longer and end up wanting to move and do something different.. I can Totally see you guys moving to Hokkaido... like to Sapporo or something. You guys totally seemed to love it there the times you've been, and it's nature-y and pretty, and yet you guys could still live in a city.. idk... I can just imagine you guys doing that ^_^ Look forward to the next adventure :)
Yea, haha, living in Hokkaido would have it's perks for sure, but finding a job up there that we liked might be tricky. Plus it's a somewhat expensive place to travel from compared to Tokyo. -Eric
That pear you bought looks really good !!!
+MaaikeInJapan It was on point!
That pear is actually called Pêra Rocha "Rock Pear" and it is originally from Portugal, that is the best tasting pear that we have here
The Mantis Incident was so funny. Yamanashi looks like a really great place to explore. Definitely want to see you guys in Osaka.
+Perdomot Osaka is on the "soon" list to return to. If you want to see some old videos of us there there are a couple here ruclips.net/video/GhwYJuPhR4s/видео.html
+Kyde and Eric Wow, I was in Osaka in May of 2010 so we just missed each other by 2 months. Small world.
great video
Oishinbo! That's the name of the series that comic is from :) I love it! It's like Alton Brown in Japanese form lol.
+Angie M. Wondeful! Thank you!
At my library in Denver there are several volumes that I have read (in
English) v2: Sake, v3: Ramen and Gyoza and v4: Fish, Sushi and Shashimi. They are a great window into Japanese cuisine and culture. Highly recommended!
Yass part 2
+Felix Millenianto (TheMeatSausageOfficial) Yiiiiiiiiis.
I really enjoy all the videos you guys do, because not only are you two are funny but you give us great info on what you guys do. I really want to try the Japanese snacks you guys eat, could you tell me how much I need to send please I'm such a KYRIC (kyde and Eric) fan.
+J Harden Haha, there are actually places that specialize in sending Japanese candy packages! www.google.co.jp/search?sourceid=chrome-psyapi2&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8&q=monthly%20japanese%20box&oq=montly%20japanese&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j0l5.4104j0j7
love you guys!
+TAM TRAN Haha, thanks!!! -E
+Kyde and Eric any plan you guys pay Vietnam another visit?
+TAM TRAN No plans right now, but we really want to go back and visit the north!
Making the paper would have been my favorite part of that whole trip - it looked so fun and relaxing.
The preying mantis would have caused flailing and shrieks that could only be heard by dogs and certain species of bats. ::shudder::
+Missy Pratt Hahah.
Nice video again...i can't for us to be in Japan next january!!!!
+robbie025 Nice, enjoy your trip! -E
Haha Kyde and the praying mantis. They are so cool. You're right they always do look like they want to fight. XD
Thanks for another fun vid!
Kyde, Your lamp looked beautiful.
+Oukoyami Thanks!
That's the hymn, "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee."
You guys should check out Mt. Mayon. it's a mountain in the Philippines. It's famous for its perfect shape, it looks a lot like mt. fuji actually, but without the snowy peaks.
+touchmenot films Rad, we will keep an eye out for it! Thank you!! -E
yes It was
Lovely scenery and Eric totally had a moment with that Mantis!
How are you with Rick and Morty? That shoe is my life right now! WHOOWEE!
+Hold Fast Films Haha, Rick and Morty is fun. We like to tell friends if they are a Rick or a Morty. Kyde is totally Morty, hahahahahaha. -E
I noticed that Kyde usually organises your trips around Japan, could you maybe do a video in the future of what magazines/ books/tourist info booklets/websites that you find useful for preparing your journeys around Japan.
+patsybob Haha, usually we just get these travel magazines they have at bookstores in Japan. Problem is they are in Japanese so most of the people who can read them already know they exist! Haha. -Eric
We call them bugs grass hoppers in oz !!!! He really loved u guys I think he wanted to stay with u guys on the trip !!!! 😄
+astroboy3507 Haha, maybe we shouldn't have evicted him! -E
Woot Just Finished WATCHING :) Man Kyde From the Pray mantis to hitting your head in the cave! lol Glad you wore that hard hat. Loved the video of the Archery guys. Im glad you all splurged on the fruits there's nothing like True Home Grown Fruits/Veggies. I grow my own Chilly peppers so I know the work they put into their Stuff. Cant wait to see the next adventure God bless and Stay Safe.
+Puck aNm Oh nicem home grown chilly peppers! Jealous! -Eric
Bakery? Pshh... I go to the breadatorium. (Or when I have extra gold pieces, the Palace of the Breadmakers.)
You got some Breadery at the Breadateria? Me too, some multigrain. You're right about fresh noodles, they make a big difference to a soup. There's a restaurant near me that does a Henan-style lamb soup with handmade noodles, or rather _noodle_ because it's one giant 15 foot noodle. My friends and I bring a pair of scissors to eat it. It's sooo good though. Between the lamb goodness and the noodle, I swear it will cure a rainy day.
+ikaruseijin01 That sounds incredible! I want to try that! -E
Kyde and Eric If you're ever in Montréal Canada, let me know and I'll take you. It's a mom and pop Chinese (Henan province) place. Uncle cuts the meat, and grandma and mom make the noodles and dumplings by hand.
i think we have something like that at my mums village in vietnam. at 6am they start playing a tune with a lady counting which is for the people to exercise to
+tjsauceable Oh wow, neat. -E
Wow, I never saw a praying mantis close up. They're actually kinda cute.
I agree!
+Kenneth Scharf Yea, not scary at all! Gotta get a handshake! -E
+Kenneth Scharf I think they are cute too... they're a step above the usual insect. They do have binocular vision like we do, so they actually do _look_ at us as opposed to just perceive us with their sensor array. So Kyde was right when she said it was looking at her.
26:32 I think my heart melted lol
+Jaafar Kaoussarani With fear or love? -E
Kyde and Eric Yes
Hey, no upload this week?!?! You guys must be in the Philippines right now, anyway congrats on 30,000 subscribers!!!
+SuperUltraRollingBomberThunderCorporation This week's video is up now! Hard to find internet here! -E
Yay! Rick and Morty!!
oh that's 'Ode to Joy' by Friedrich Schiller . Not a bad tune :) much better when it isn't electronic over PA :)
I just noticed that the channel has reached the 30,000 subscriber mark.
+san man Oh wow, that is crazy.
see that you are using a hX90Vsweet, how do you guys like it? any tips on what you like best about it? and what you do not like about it?
+fishycomics Yea, like it a lot. Really love this series of cameras Sony has been making. We have had...3 of them in the series so far. I love all the practical parts of the 90v, but they changed some of the menus around and now it's file structure in the camera itself is a little weird. Basically, it seems like the software got worse in this version which seems odd. -Eric
Agree. the it is a great camera in ways. I find it in ays like said not the greatest in ways as well.
shoyu + sugar + mirin + SAKE(Nihon-shu) = Japanese basic seasoning.
If want to make soup of Soba or Udon, add dried bonito stock.
+mop09drg yea, have noticed the shoyu + sugar + mirin + SAKE comination in lots of stuff! So good -E
Its morbid, but any desire to go to Aokigahara? Its right near there, isn't it?
+Jared Rydelek No desire. -Eric
Your next transportation vehicle (car... etc) should be Fred or Barney for your next trip.
Kyde&Eric, can you give out your route and sightseeing/gourmet spots of this trip? Last time I visited Yamanaka lake and Mountain Fuji fifth station. Next time I'd like try your rout. Thanks.
+Will Y. Mori Oh, I'm sorry, I don't think I could recreate it if I had to! With some google you could probably get a reasonable guess by just connecting all the dots of places we stopped. Sorry! -E
o man that soup looks really good
+fweirdo19 For real!
at 00:30 nicely performed Beethoven music!!! wow
+PanAhimsa Hahaha
i loved the card to the left of the pug, of a girl cooking what looks like eggs and other food. wish i knew what it said
+VRRV Haha, I tried to read it but the gleam on the glass makes it hard to see. Says something about eating hamburg. Hahahahaha.
cool you guys got invited inside the archery place
+Vegeta21ish Yea, it was super kind of them! -E
I went to check the lizard video (thanks for the quick link in the video :D) and man... that jesus beard and haircut Eric had back then! Missed that style! (ok, maybe not ^^')
+Knaar I looked great! -Eric
It's a praying mantis!!! ;) ;) I raise these in the summertime in my garden! So cool!
+Stephiroth T. Oh wow, neat! Is it true they can kill birds? Hahah. -E
+Kyde and Eric Hummingbirds for sure, depends on how big they get.
The French pear that you bought looks like our portuguese "Rocha pear".
+Pedro Pinto Are they delicious? If so might be the same pear! -Eric
+Kyde and Eric Yes they are. I'll be in Tokyo next year, then I'll take some pears for you to compare. ^^
山梨来たのかぁ。会いたかったぁ^^
awesome video. guys I hope I don't sound harsh from my previous comment, but I do notice that the camera is now further away from your face. it looks better now :) sometimes we want to see your surroundings and background.
+Ian Hahah, glad you enjoyed. We don't keep a tight zoom on our faces to cut the backgrounds out, we do it for audio purposes. If the enviornment is quiet then we can allow more distance. -Eric
nice lamp
+larry sutherland Haha, thanks!
Ode to joy
Hi from Okinawa Japan
Hi!
31:20 I seriously thought I was getting LINE messages until i rewound the video like 2 times to be sure it wasn't just me going crazy.
+Ccoolty Haha

+ottoniel gonzalez Yea, we keep meaning to check it out but haven't had a chance yet! -E
2:24 HANDS ON THE WHEEL! HANDS ON THE WHEEL!
+sonic88dude Haha, she is a scary driver! -E
Looks like you guys had fun! What's the cave called?
+catlover1812 I think it's the "Narusawa Ice Cave". -Eric
Thanks for clarifying!
7:29 - Eric rips off a huge fart 10/10
I will add a video where you see how to make your own pasta or noodles.
ruclips.net/video/SuHOpdKCj2I/видео.html
Here is the text in English
on a board you have to widen the flour in this way
to form a fountain of flour
you have to take so many eggs how many people have lunch / dinner,
then an egg head
since it is already past noon and we have to hurry,
We assemble the machine on the table and let the noodles
with the machine
which still it requires work, but a little 'less than
in her hand no machine
We put all the dough on the table cloth and we have to do it
rest you have to dry because otherwise they will be sticky
when we make the noodles
Now the dough has dried then grandmother began making
just noodles
Here noodles now throw themselves into the boiling water
Here is how you make gnocchi
ruclips.net/video/YqNyzoF6Ffo/видео.html
The text in English
Boil the potatoes in boiling water until they reach
a soft texture and peel it off easily
mashed potatoes with a potato masher and add them to the flour
the peel will masher
add an egg and begin to knead help with a fork in the beginning
knead until dough is firm and smooth
remove the pieces of peel you find and add flour if
necessary
make the strips of dough and cut the gnocchi the size that
Favorites
if you do not want to leave them smooth, you use a grater to
decorate
throw the dumplings in boiling water and salt
wait come to the surface (about 3 min) and remove them
Enjoy yourself with making your home made noodles or pasta
+word20 Oh neat. Looks messy! Hahaha. -E
Rick and Morty FTW!!!
Love your vids, just sign up with your patreon but can only afford $1 for now. Do you have recommendation where to go outside Tokyo for winter January for lone travelller? Thanks
+babosing Thanks so much for your support on Patreon! Every bit helps! Hrm, outside Tokyo in January. Most of Japan is pretty cold, but you can still see some pretty things. If you are staying in the Tokyo area it's easy to get up to Nikko, or even closer a hike up Mt Takao will give pretty views. If you can take a long trip I'd say head up to Hokkaido and stay in Otaru for a day or two, it's beautiful if there is snow! You can see it in our Snow Festival video from this past February. Other than that check out this document we have of places to see/do. docs.google.com/document/d/1DOUoFuDJ9I7hTIUCFkyAdnY_Q2jvZ-c84bezj8PyuPU/edit
People of a certain age hear the term "grassy knoll" (which you've used a couple of times) and then the trauma of the JFK assassination is triggered in our minds. "Other than that, Mrs Lincoln, how did you like the play?"
you know what happened the last time someone talked about a grassy knowl
BETTY her dam name is BETTY @ Im 68 and I remember that !
this sounds like a strange question but, my fiancé can't eat with chopsticks. do restaurants have forks in Japan? I am willing to pack a box of disposable forks with us, but I don't want to take up unnecessary space if it's not necessary
Haha, lots of places do, but bringing a spare fork might not be a bad idea just in case. -Eric
dude, those praying mantises have been known to take down birds mid-flight. I think kyde was right to be scared of that thing attacking.
+RavenNight Oh my god, are you serious? -E
its true! there is even videos of it! its crazy.
Those caves sound like something out of an rpg.
+rebecca sabet Hahaha, yep!
What does Yamanashi mean? My guess is mountain pear. Because there's mountains and pears.
+SuperUltraRollingBomberThunderCorporation Yep!
guys, are you still up for meeting ups? I'm going to stay in Yokohama for 1 month, next year, so i would really like to meet you, thanks
+Irving Armenta We do like to meet people when we have time, shoot us an email once you are here. If it works out maybe we can grab a meal somewhere in Tokyo! -Eric
+Kyde and Eric Alright! that sounds awesome, will contact you then : )
cannons in the morning? ... are you sure kyde ? :P
+Allen M It was probably the wireworks we later saw...which still doesn't make much sense in the morning. -E
Man you guys could of been like the movie 33.
+TonioVA Goodman Haha, in that little ice cave?
lol god forbid that happen. Yall probably would of froze to death.
pot leaf at 18:09 lol
+Tyler Kuite Haha. Japanese maple! -E
As former Archery Instructor and Range Safety guy, the side of the range without a full wall where you shot from is a little unsafe for my likes.
I'm not a big fan of big bugs but that Mantis was kinda Cute
+kelel Haha, yea, he was great! -E
Yo team helmets and bibs ALL THE WAY
+Michelle Castanaza haha
Um Eric is really tall so don't really tall people eat a lot but Eric seems to be eating the same servings as kyde
i wonder why you pick Japan as a place to live. i am just curious. Language, culture and foods are completely different than Westerner. I think Japan is the cleanest place to live plus organic fresh organic foods
+paul wu We spent 5 weeks here in 2010 and enjoyed it, so we came here on a whim! -E
Thank! Are you going to stay there as your permanent place?
+paul wu I don't know! Hhaha. -E
Praying mantis are signs of good luck.
+Mike The Gamer Plus they'll eat bugs for you for free, unlike most humans.
+ikaruseijin01 Wait, do you mean most humans won't eat bugs or that praying mantis won't eat most humans? -Eric
Kyde and Eric I think that its true either way you interpret it.
若い時の、Jamie Lee Curtis に似ているね。
+吉田カンタ Hahahaha, I see it! -Eric
