The best Funari Inari video i ever had watched !
Loved this. Kyoto is one of the Top cities I've always wanted to visit in the World, let alone Japan. That first forest temple area seems AMAZING. Look forward to the next two videos :D
FINALLY! Ive been hoping you two would go to Kyoto for ages! The Tori park is so beautiful! Glad you had a good time! Thanks for sharing.
This is an amazing footage. Thank you so much for all the time you've put into this
Your videos are always great but the last handful were really good! Thank you for sharing this with us!
Thanks, guys, Fushimi Inari is now very close to the top of my "travel wish list", which Japan in general has topped for a long time! Love the vids!
awesome video as always and i really liked the mini bloopers vids 😹
thank you guys and keep up the good work ☺
I've been waiting to see a video of Kyoto from you guys! Its super stunning and beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
I love you guys. Your personalities are so balanced and keeps me coming back for more videos. Keep being fantastic. Your videos are very educational.
+blulaguna18 Thanks so much! How kind! -E
I e enjoyed Kyoto three times and each time was always a different experience.
Wonderful video guys!😀
This video was actually super useful for me, thanks so much! It was so nice to hear what is written on the torii (and practice some kanji reading). I have always wondered how crazy it really is in Kyoto during fall colors so hearing your thoughts about the energy and atmosphere was very helpful and interesting. I made an itinerary long ago for my eventual trip to Japan (planning is fun, yo) and I think I know how to better plan the Kyoto leg of the trip already and it's only video 1 of 3! So excited for the rest!
again what a wonderful trip through Japan
I never loved a better episode. What looked good the most that I'm being specific not making these long comments I normally do. All I want to say this episode was loving, spicy, loyal, filling, the timing was incrdebile..Why? Cause you both just gave an adventure that was casual yet enjoyable doing casual things....I'm really excited all in all. the perspective was like looking into someone else's life...well that is which I respect Kyde & Eric you show us all viewers what regular people do. Normal and real. Peace and love to you both. I love what you creators do. I'm telling you. When I have my first child I will put them on your videos..I know that is saying a lot....I just love yallz originality.
Really really enjoy your videos. Thank you so much for sharing your adventures. You guys are the Highlight of of my RUclips viewing
I LOVE Fushimi Inari Taisha. Its one of my favourite places in all of Japan and I love how peaceful it feels around sunrise and dusk.
And the Yotsutsuji intersection offers an amazing view of the sunset! Some of the best sunsets I've ever seen has been from this intersection.
big fan of you two :)love seeing what food you eat and hearing your experience thanks for sharing :)
For a second i thought a vid wasn't gunna be uploaded this week
Thanks for this😃😄
Congrats on 30k subscribers K + E!
Moving to Kyoto in November... These vids are killing me with excitement!!
Awesome!!! Enjoy your adventure! -E
So excited for your trip !!
AirBnB made my Japan experience, I stayed with a wonderful guy called Naomichi in Gotokuji, Tokyo. Made lots of friends and got to see parts of Tokyo I definitely would have missed otherwise.
Rule #1 for watching Kyde&Eric videos: Always have a snack ready before hitting play. You WILL get hungry.
Entertaining and educational. Loved it.
That is a really great Shrine to see in Kyoto, it was sort of hot when I went so most people gave up at the halfway point so it was nice to be alone at the little shrine at the top and one of the workers invited us into the house at the top that had AC! and gave us green tea and mochi. Its always such a great time in Japan, love the people and the place.
You blew my mind with the Starfox info!
Also, THREE PARTS. YES!!!
awww, all the memories... I was standing in that line for Kiyomizudera just a week before you ;D catching up with all your 2015/2016 videos is a ton of fun and really makes me miss Japan
Glad you are enjoying them! -E
been waiting for this all day lol gonna watch now
+Jamee Niehoff Enjoy!!
+Jamee Niehoff Same here. Usually they upload every new video on Friday and me with my wife were waiting for all day also :D
+Simon Lickus Sorry, the trip to The Philippines messed up our schedule a bit! -E
My favorite at (21:56), Kyde's expression when they are at a big fun times prohibited...! Hilarious!
From what I understand, there are no physical bones in Fushimi Inari shrine. The graves plot can be bough to serve as a praying place for the family. Great video, brings back some good memories. Oh also, loved the bloopers in the end. :D
I hope to experience the sunrises and sunsets there someday.
Also thank you for another great vid.
Because of the immense history in Kyoto and American government agreed not to bomb it and so it has the original authentic feel of the true Japan unlike Tokyo which was leveled as well as the other obvious cities that were destroyed. Kyoto is not to be missed as some streets are so unique and the temples are astounding and magical. Thank you for this lovely view.
Why do you love me so much to bless me with this video?
ERIC!! Tell KD she isn't allowed to open her happy meal toy until AFTER she eats her dinner.
Love the videos I showed them to my girl friend name Kyoto and she loves u guys now lol keep it up !!!!! Love how long they are to!!!!!!!!!!! 🐢
long time watcher, but had to come out of the shadows for this one......my hubby and i were flying into Narita when you guys headed off for this adventure! we eventually made it to Kyoto and the Fushimi Inari Taisha (love how you say it Kyde!!) toward the middle of our trip. would have loved to have met you guys in person. glad the Airbnb worked out for you....we must try it!
Awesome video and education guys - thank you
Glad you enjoyed! -E
I didnt expect to get a video while you guys are in the Philippines! Pumped!
+Grinc10 More should be on their way! Just gotta find internet, which can be a problem. Hahaha. -E
Props guys! Keep up the amazing work!
+Kyde and Eric watch out for dem typhoons
41:48 Looks like Kiyomizu-dera to me. I liked that one when I visited. I didn't get to go at night though, I was slightly too early for the leaf changing events. Kyoto is where I caught the yaki-imo guy, in the area south of the main station, adjacent the Kujo subway station.
Wow it's so bright at 6am!
I now have a need to go to Japan.
Your travel vlogs are amazing.
+Java Kuppa Thanks!!
You were standing in the birthplace of Star Fox. I just had some awesome flashbacks. Thanks bro. Btw you two walk a lot in your videos. I'm sure that will help you stay lean and healthy : )
outstanding video!
Good Matcha is so healthy Eric !!!!!! I love it !!!!!
Thanks for the video, and thanks Eric for finding me ' pretty old':)1958
I can't believe I didn't run into you two, I was at Fushimi Inari on the 21st! Would have been incredible to say hello. You guys really inspire me to explore the world and I love watching your videos. Keep it up :)
+Cherie Vella So happy you made it to Fushimi Inari! I love that place! Thanks so much! -E
Kyoto seems really awesome :)
Awesome video! I was in Kyoto in May 2010 and somehow forgot to go to Fushimi Inari. Really have to visit there some day. Love how creative the food in Japan is, never gets boring. Was that temple at the end called Kiyomizu?
Love you guys
+Matt Norman
you guys got the good weather. I was there just a few weeks before and it was pouring rain on the first night of the year they
were open. We stood in that long line in the pouring rain. Finally gave up and went into the shops. Did you go to any of
the temples that had recycled floorboards on their ceilings that had the 400 year old samuari blood stains ?
Chigiri means, and this is a rough translation, small pieces of bread you can eat one piece or "boob" at a time. i.e. one bite at a time. We hired a taxi to take us around to all the temples after that disasterous first night. You can get taxi's by the
hour and I think its the best way to see lots of temples.
I love Japanese food so much!
Headquarter of Pokemon Go(part of)!! Good job Eric.
Yes I been to Kyoto twice but never been there yet heard lot about that shrine but never knew about you can pay to have yr names etc ,,, thanks for that info on them guys !!!! And the new orange colour is a beautiful yellow ish orange !!!!!
Nintendo Headquarters hahahaha
Hey guys, watching you on 60fps is just awesome.
Now, I can't wait to watch the next episode.
great video
Very good timing! I'll be in kansai in 8 days and can't wait to visit Kyoto again. Fushimi Inari Taisha was on my list of places to see this time, and I'm even more stoked to visit now.
Where is the tiny dango shop? It looks neat and would love to try it out if I can find it.
34:34These Dango with white cream-like thing are White Miso Dango. The white cream-like source is white miso with sugar. In Kyoto they often use white miso.
+jupiterite3 Ahhh. Thanks! -E
Nice bonus info on the starfox influence! Next time I go there, I'm going to barrel roll my way between the gates! BTW I'm a Showa 53 follower....
its awesome that u guys try new foods, u modivated me to try new foods when i go out. im always too scared that i wont like it
Whats the worst it can happen? In great scheme of things, thats a silly thing to worry about. Go out and enjoy the time you have on this big rock floating through space :)
thanks dude
+CRADLE619
I am more scared that I will become ill, especially in another country where health care is hard to find!
But that's why I'm a wimp and don't have great adventures like they do.
+Hold Fast Films
"Whats the worst it can happen? "
You could become seriously ill, like poor Eric did one time! I was very worried about him. He's thin to begin with, and he looked like he lost a lot of weight.
But again, that's why they have these great adventures and I don't. They don't let even something like that stop them. I am just too chicken!
Yesica1993 You can get seriously ill from food that you normally eat. That's a fact and I know that I have several times. YOLO!
Just when I was about to fall asleep . . .
Looks like 5 am it is!
+VinnytotheK Haha.
My favourite Japanese youtubers👍
+Prince Arslan Haha, we have been here for a while but I wouldn't go as far to say we are Japanese. Haha. -E
That Starfox tid bit was awsome! I never knew that Kyoto inspired one of my childhood game. It did feel a little Corneria ish ^_^. Hello from The Bay Area!
From my Japanese friend, the U.S. occupation government introduced Thanksgiving to the country but the locals didn't really understand it so when the Japanese were in charge again and trying to figure out where to put Labor day, they thought they'd combine the two. Being thankful for what you have and honouring the hard work that people put into those things you're thankful for. It kinda makes sense.
Us Canadians have Thanksgiving on what you would call Columbus Day in October. Same idea except being further north our harvests come a bit earlier in the year, and there's no "pilgrims."
So much science in this episode, time traveling, neutron stars... I picture Kyde saying something along these lines - "Eric! If you pass through this torii with the velocity of 88 miles per hour, by my calculations, it will send you to 1962. Oops, maybe 1903... Well, that would be an interesting twist to the story. Now i expect the next rental car to be named DeLorean! :P
Also, cool video guys and nice Starfox trivia! "Do barrel roll!"
+The Kosac07 Hahaha.
Chigiri is "chigiru" in verb. it means "break apart" or "tear apart". You break the bread in parts (thus the lines) and eat it.
Awesome! Good timing! Now I'm gonna grab a beer xD
+x1ic1x Hope you enjoyed!
I was in Kyoto the week before you and it was crazy busy everywhere. You really do have to get to places early before all the tour buses unload.
+coconutpanda Yea, but in a way that's a part of the fun. -E
いつも楽しみな動画です。
漢数字も元号も理解してるなんて流石です。
We went to fushimi inari the day before! I'm glad y'all liked it. It was one of my favorite parts of our Kyoto trip. Did y'all stay in Katsura?
Hi! I love your videos, I have been watching for a couple of years now. Best thing on the internet! My favourite band YACHT are in Japan at the moment, they are from Oregon and I think you would love to meet them if you have the opportunity. I'm pretty sure they would love you too! Hope you have had a wonderful Christmas. Adam x
When you showed that tiny dango plate I really thought you were playing us and it's actually a magnet plastic food model to put on a fridge
I thought mt. Inari was super creepy when I went this summer (early August). Was cool to see that you went. I had no idea what the writing on the gates meant, I thought they were prayers. Also, I remember seeing the signs with the amounts of yen on them thinking that those were the costs of staying at a japanese-hotel like thing on the mountain. The signs were next to buildings so I thought those were hotels/bed and breakfasts. I told all my friends how crazy it was that you could pay 1 million yen and 10 people could sleep at one of those places. I guess I thought those were "mountain prices" too. Apparently the signs were advertising buying gates according to you guys? haha. Anyways nice video, looking forward to the next two parts.
Cool, you guys are taking a long distance bus to Kyoto. I've been wanting to try riding an overnight bus like Willer in Japan, just never got the chance to do it last time I was there. Now I can get a second hand experience through both of you. Thanks for that info. Fushimi Inari is one of my favorite temples in Japan. According to my Japanese friend, the size of the torii depends on how much the individual/company paid for it. LOL at Eric zooming in on the Nintendo building. You guys are eating the preemie sized dangos, hahahahaa... I like the grilled ones with a bit of sweetened shoyu. Kiyomizudera at night is just beautiful. Have you guys been to Koyasan?
I don't really like Matcha flavor either, but also like it when its sweater and milkier! Have you ever tried the Matcha flavored "Blendy Stick" drink? I think its a japanese product easily found there, but I bought some off a japanese snack website and I think it's really yummy so if you haven't tried it maybe you would too. :) Anyways, I'm going to be in Japan in the beginning of April and plan on spending a couple days in Kyoto, so I'm excited to see these videos for ideas what to do. I actually was thinking of passing up Fushimi inari shrine, but you guys sold me on it, so I think I'm definitely going to check it out now!!!
Great video!!! btw, chigiru means to take piece by piece....chigiri pan means, you have to eat it piece by piece not biting the bread directly.
+c bobby Oh neat! -E
I just googled and found that the size of the cheapest one is for the Tori at 千本鳥居 (One thousand Gates Part). However, the price was only for the Tori and the total price will depends on the location!
I want to move to Japan I love you guys are awesome thanks for sharing your video experience :) so cool you guys rock and I love WiFi and McDonald's lol and u all :)
Oh, those "relax seat" head covers are perfect for blocking out the world when you want to sleep! All buses, trains and planes should have them!
Kyoto! one of my fav towns! How long was the ride to Kyoto for you guys?
Did you shoot this with a new camera? Something is slightly different, in a good way. The night shots look clearer to me. Very good as always.
Choux("shoe") is the same French pastry as cream puffs/Eclair. Choux creams= another awesome Japanese spin on other cuisines. Also, matcha rules!
Hello! What book are you using to travel around Japan? I am making a trip this summer and would love to know what book you guys are using since it's taking you to some very special places! Thanks
Hey Eric, what kind of camera do you have, if you don't mind me asking? that zoom is crazy! I want one for when I go to Japan.
A little trick on the year conversion -- add 25 to the year in Showa and you will get the last two digits in the 1900's. So, y'all did the math right about that torii being from 1962 (37th year of Showa).
I was born in the Showa period, (Hirohoto died in 1989). Here's a bit of trivia. Hirohoto and Tezuka Osmau (the god of manga) died within a few days of each other. Guess who's passing got more news coverage in Japan? (Hint, it WASN'T the emperor's!).
That little igloo type thing,,,,is a shrine to relationships. My fiancee,,,,,,wnt to it a few weeks after we met,,,to pray that we would have a good relationship!! Bless her little heart,,,,She went with her friend who wanted a good end to her relationship.......The way the enter the "igloo" depends on what they want to do! Ah god, you gotta love these people!! ;) By the way,,,,I love the vids!! If you get to Hokuriku,,,let us know!!
Hello Kyde & Eric! Nice video. Just a quick question. Was there foliage in Kyoto when you guys visited?
+Ann Brookes Santiago Do you mean were the leaves changing colors? They had begun, but the following week probably would have been even better. -E
Thank you for posting a great vid as always.
@ 34:36 - consommé / chicken stew thing is actally 京風白みそ = kyo-fu-shiro-miso (kyoto style white soybean paste)
see - www.jumondo.jp/menu.html
BTW, I am visiting my hometown near tokyo this xmas break - so excited about everything!!
I LOVEEEE your videos!! Keep it up and I'm 16 xDD
cool i didnt know that about star fox. thanks
chigiri means to tear apart. so it's meant to tear and share :) looked yummy!
You guys looks young as enough to say born in Heisei era !
Nice vid! I thought the leaves would chAnge colours by now tho?never been there & will do this coming november i hope
Late November and you might catch the leaves change. It's a brief time period and hard to nail! -E
+Kyde and Eric oh my, bought my tix there for 10-19 of november. Crossing fingers we'll be able to catch the autumn fun 😳 thanks for reply!
When you Said NINTENDO and STARFOX..I got excited..Ha Ha. I'm playing Xenoblade Chronicles X for the Wii U on my Wii U right now..but there is a New Star Fox game coming soon and I'm so excited, also a new Zelda game coming for Wii U that looks awesome. Now if they would just bring a new Metroid Prime to Wii U I would be happy, but I think that will be for the new Nintedo NX Console.
Kyde ate the inari upside down. XD Its shaped like a pocket.
You guys got this one faster then usual. What was uzu? You've mentioned it before but i cant remember what it was. what kind of flavor was it.
Are you talking about Yuzu? It's like a Japanese Citrus fruit
+SuperUltraRollingBomberThunderCorporation Huh. I would love to taste that. And in a bean paste form. Thank you SuperUltra.
KYDE AND ERIC! I assure you this is not spam - Me and my wife were the ones who messaged you about meeting up while you were in Kyoto because that's where we were. We went to Fushimi-Inari and Kiyomizu-dera on Thursday the 20th! We missed you guys by 1 DAY! AHHH!! Anyway, we thought you might be interested in our video of our day in Kyoto: ruclips.net/video/y5VEMAfrUcI/видео.html
You were part of the inspiration behind this trip and were the FULL inspiration behind us videoing it ;)
lol that cover made Kyde looked like she was in a baby stroller. XD
