yeah see in my day we called this “pickup artist tactics” and anybody with a decent head on their shoulders thought it was cringe to propagate 💀 (kudos for narrating the tiktoks btw, i appreciate the accessibility consideration)
Life experience teaches you how to read people, and yes on some level how to be manipulative. Everyone is a bit manipulative or "plays the game" sometimes but it seems like on social media they just try to speed run learning those things.
I think some professionals call it manoeuvring instead of manipulation, because manipulation has the element of malicious intent towards other parties. While manoeuvring covers just navigating human relationships in natural ways. A baby cries to communicate discomfort, but it feels weird to describe that as manipulating its parents into caring for it😂
"You know you can just not date" is really not a permanent fix. That desperation for any kind of affection is what drives people to seek out these deranged methods. Telling them casually that they should settle for lovelessness is a great way to give them an extra push in the wrong direction.
I get where your comment is coming from, but I’d also argue that “You can just not date” doesn’t have to be permanent. It can just mean taking a break from dating to work on yourself first and get incite into why you find it so difficult to maintain meaningful romantic relationships. Also, being single doesn’t mean being loveless. You can have just as meaningful relationships with your friends as you do with your lovers. I really hate this idea that is drilled into us by society that in order to have a fulfilled life we need to find a romantic partner, and I think that pressure is part of the reason some people have such terrible views of relationships to begin with.
Ironic, is that Johan's goal at the very end was "perfect unalive", nobody knows him, zilch. Johan's presence in the show is golden, but nobody wanna be Johan Liebert!
To me it just seems like 'dark psychology' was made to add an aesthetic to manipulation and to also make people who manipulate or are not necessarily wholeheartedly good to others feel better about themselves. Like if you process what you do as 'manipulation' it's pretty bland and in general anyone could do that but if you say 'oh I used dark psychology forbidden tactics' (literally in what genre birthed by Twilight are we in) you give yourself an air of intelligence. Also nowadays people want to put an aesthetic to anything to justify it or to make it more "cool". Like if you say 'oh I use dark psychology' you won't feel as bad as admitting you're manipulating someone. It's easier for the mind to digest and excuse. Eitherway I might be delirious from the flu so I could be just talking out of my ass right now BUT
Also the difference online between how dark psychology is presented (which is literally just abnormal/clinic psychology and forensic psychology having a child together, it's like a "subgenre" or rather subtype) and how it is on tiktok (which is just how to manipulate someone) is so 💀. Like one is oh yeah mental ilness and how to prevent yourself from being manipulated and the other is how to be a gaslighting edgelord 💀. Also I feel like calling dark psychology while also referencing mental illnesses such as narcissism spreads a narrative that the whole group is bad and should be avoided, is villainizing mental disorders what we really want?
Thank you, I have been victim of narcissistic abuse and nearly died of it. It makes tge body very sick after many years of such a relationship. And it is NOT LOVE, IT'S TRAUMABONDING. The shocking truth is that many relationship coaches are learning these techniques 😢.
I’m pretty sure this is just “how to maximise your negative narcissist/borderline personality disorder/antisocial personality disorder tendencies” with a new coat of paint 🤨 Edit: Respect to the people who are saying that these are toxic and need to be on the lookout though. Abusive behavior needs to be acknowledged and addressed 👍
I love your personality and I am going to subscribe. Just want to tell you the best way to grow on YT is to get better audio. Watch videos of how to enhance your audio if you cant afford to get a mic.
That first clip was so, uhm, two-faced in a way? Like, oh don't do this and I'm trying to help you not fall for it, but i also give you the exact steps to DO it. I also got mixed signals from it, lol. This whole dark psychology trend is just manipulation tactics 101, and its sad that people genuinely think it's something okay to use on others just because some shitty tiktoker gave it as actual relationship advice. And god damn, i say this as someone who received this sorta treatment from a guy! Breadcrumbing, I guess? And that whole "build trust and get them to like you and then avoid them" (but times a hundred), like that first girl said. It's shitty. I was so confused and it really made me go into this almost obsessive spiral. Overall, just don't listen to these people. And don't try to do these things on people. After some time, the only thing you'll do is earn their mistrust and maybe even hate.
Yea, that attachment "advice" they were giving was definitely kinda dangerous, could definitely cause some issues in a relationship, I'm sorry u had to go through that
Interesting subject and would've watched. I've damaged my hearing noticeably by going to raves for over 10 years and don't mind low quality, non sound-proofed, McDonald's headset level audio quality in videos and music.... But GODDAMN YOUR AUDIOQUALITY IS BAD. sounds like you recorded that video with a tin can telephone.
😭😭dang u couldn't even let me down softly with that one I don't even know what happened I recorded just how I always do but it came out trash. I'm working on fixing it I promise
@Kaysaja my bad. I hope my choice of words wasn't too mean and made you feel bad. My therapist usually tells me that I am way too accommodating and explain myself too much. Since you're studying psychology (afaik u said that in the video before I paused) I figured you're well equipped to handle the direct approach. Anyways in a more kind of way you may take my criticism in the most positive interpretation possible: fix your audio quality and along with your charming appearance and well versed thoughts on interesting topics you have a good chance of succeeding (in whatever way you may define that) on this platform and others. Keep it up... and fix your audio please 😄
girl, this is not releated to the video but you are GORGEOUS
Real 😌
dark psychology is just psychology to the joker
(nice vid)

yeaaa I definitely didn't mean that literally but now that u mention it that might not have been the best thing to say to manipulators...

This is basically “top 10 ways to become an anime villain” “number 10 kill your local pantheon of gods and absorb their magic”
Damn this makes me want to watch anime 😂

This just sounds like grooming
So glad this video showed up in my recommended feed! I love your insight into the subject and your editing is so funny
New sub!!
Good work. Use a little more care and attention towards your audio. Audio quality is arguably more important than video quality.
I knowwww the audio got messed up but I already filmed it and everything 😭 I'll work to make it better for ya thank you for the feedback!
“Push them off a cliff”
Hal from Megamind is taking notes
I hope that people stop thinking thus type of stuff is okay and not manipulative 😭😭😭
6:49 Thanks
I never even heard of this. But I’m currently taking psychology in college right now. This is concerning.
Dark psychology sounds kind of like some 2nd grade trend
Also, the hair is incredible.
