  • Lilly Gaddis has been blowing up for saying the N-word and getting a lot of attention from it, of course. And, as per usual, the internet continues to give her the attention she wants because of our rage. Rage bait in general has been a common sighting on the internet nowadays due to how successful it is and how easy it is to make. The question is, why do we fall for rage bait so easily? Even when we know it's just trying to upset us, we let it happen anyway. Today I dive into the social psychology and neurology of rage-bait content and just rage and anger as a whole to find out what it is about negativity that always gets people to act. I found some interesting research on the topic which I think will help us better understand our reactions, as well as help us to help us avoid giving in to these rage baiters, just like they want us to.

Sometimes I miss the vine era of social media. These rage baiters really need to take a break from the internet. Like if people ignored these rage baiters they would not gain traction.

It’s kind of weird and funny at the same time the lengths humans will go for attention- they’re starved for it. Idk a strange concept. Anyways great video! I discovered your channel this day and I really like how you explain and share your opinions 🤭 also what a nice hair!

I almost forgot that used to be a thing, when I hear someone say a car is gay I just sorta picture a rainbow car I guess

Why do we put so much focus on negativity?
    I think it's a defense mechanism??
We naturally judge the things we see, hear, etc to keep us from danger. Much like how predatory animals would avoid brightly colored animals because they are often poisonous. We ingrained the negative informations into our mind more than the positive ones so we are more aware and avoid those dangers because the consequences of exposing ourselves to the negativities are far more critical than the consequences of the positives, like we could possibly get hurt and die

Good video, linked sources were great, if i have any criticism it's that yt seems to trim description url and sometimes I don't know which link is what I'm interested in(a little non link description after each one could help/or grouping sources by what topic does this relate to (this vid is the tiktok article, then 3 on negative bias, then the science but i kind of assumed science link would be 2/3 bc placement in video, the order makes sense I just wish yt would show full url
