@@greygoose4x46 I'm taking my JK to Moab this summer. I very much look forward to watching Jeeps hit all these trails while I take pictures and drive all the bypasses.
anthony bayate - I think so too. It’s a Mega Cab so that means it’s not a Power Wagon so they had to build it. I’ve always thought they would make a pretty good overlander. I also wish they would have done a walk around of it.
Did yall get video of the 2 door concept "Gladiator?" of all the concepts that I saw come out of EJS, that was the one that would have made me want to tell them to shut up and take my money.
Getting that Gladiator out there with that stance and those build numbers, is going to put EVO's number/online sales into overdrive. Bet many with the JL are thinking crossover products looking at that truck and how it handles those rocks like it's dancing in the mall parking lot getting closer to the doors of the store. LOL
Without question, this Gladiator is badass and one that is made for a place like Moab. However, it's no replacement for the Wrangler and it would have a harder time on something like the Rubicon.
would I be correct if I said that a suspension lift creates more ground clearance between the bottom of the ladder frame chassis of an SUV & the ground surface??? In turn aiding in increased break over angle!!! Please advise!!!
Fucking luv all the Jeep all the off road jeep but it funny in my country in my village in my area we don't have suv or 4x4 but still it good and comfort but here we don't have official road or what so ever even grandma laugh at the trail of your in your country men no offense but that power u have with all the higher power of machine and so on technology that is not the trail in our country we call that highway or the best road ever build any way like ur video
Hey sir, I'm having an extremely difficult time finding any videos with Jeep Gladiators with 6in lifts installed off-roading. What size lift is on yours, and do you know anyone who has videos with 6in lift and showing articulation videos with the gladiator?
6" is a LOT of lift and not something that's really advantageous to have on the trail. Sure, you will have more ground clearance but your center of gravity will be way off too. That said, it can be tough to clear 40"-42" tires with anything less on a Gladiator. If you look through our videos, you will see some from the Jeep Experience trips we've attended.
The right suspension mods and 40s seems to transform the long wheelbased JT into a "short" and very capable crawler of obstacles and allow it to go unscathed where no lwb Jeep dare go before. Good Job, Mel and Evo!!!👍🇺🇸
Do you think the gladiator would tow off road a conqueror 490 without loosing a lot power ? The trailer is 4000 lbs fully loaded. The other option is the power wagon but the size of the truck is a turn off. What’s your intake on that ? Thank you
You guys are much more hard core than I thought I ever would be.... the more I watch the more I think, “I could do that...”. Inspirational to say the least. Great video!
I’m looking for a solution to mount a spare tire on the tailgate area of my wife’s Gladiator. I have found swing out tire carriers for JLand JK but nun for the Gladiator.
@Wayalife that sounds awesome but I hope I can relocate the backup camera on the carrier. I’ve seen some for the JL that relocate it on a post through the center of the tire mount. Thanks
Great to see the Gladiator in action. Off topic..... curious as to how you have you cb mic strung up. The way I have mine my mic cable is just flopping in my rear view mirror.
I was there this past Saturday but missed the signup for the longest group rides on 7 mile. But man my family and I had blast! Had to search for the mud
No. We're going to try and get one that's been allocated to a dealership somewhere. We may have to fly out and pick it up but if we can find what we're wanting, we should be able to get it before the launch editions start shipping.
Yeah, it was a bummer. The RR4W group in front of us left an hour before us but were just getting started on the drop when we got there. It literally would have taken hours to finish up the trail.
You guys know they put over $40,000 on that truck, right? So it is a good thing it turned out to look this good and performs well. I am still hoping to hear about how it rides on black top. I know offroad it has to shine. I expect it to be badass offroad, with all the money they have thrown at it. Just wondering how it handles onroad.
What's really awesome is that Mel built up his Gladiator in a way that others like you or I could build as well. Jeep just made concept vehicles that most could never have.
Approach angle to consider if you are going offload. Remember Mel is running 40's! I would love his set up but MPG must be bad too and Labor to pay for his set up would add up. If money was no problem I would set one up similar to Mel and keep my JLUR. If you are not modifying alot and can do without a truck bed the JLUR is the King still for tight trails and great approach angles. I love driving mine everytime I jump in! And I have a 2007 Toyota Tundra 2WD for towing and hauling. Love Love Love the Gladiator though!
@HivePhoto I guess it'll depend on how you intend to use your Jeep. The Gladiator is no replacement for the Wrangler and vice versa. They're 2 different animals with pros and cons.
@HivePhoto, food for thought: I love my JLU. I think it's proportions look better than the JT. I enjoy some moderate wheeling. But, I'm selling my JLU & buying a JT. I believe a 2" lift with 37s will improve the breakover & departure angles enough to still run moderate trails & dunes. I need to transport 10x20 EZup tents + passengers for work sometimes. I'll be able to do it in the JT, but not with my JLU. My wife and I like to kayak. We can transport kayaks on our hard top, but not if we get a soft top. A bed rack (cab height) on a JT will allow us to run a soft top open or closed while transporting kayaks. Most Wrangler roof racks (even exos) limit the open air experience. Everyone's situation & wants/needs are different, but those were my considerations. Hope they help. I'm certain that you'll love whichever one you choose. They're both great machines!
Since it was not the only vehicle off roading there, I see l of them were impressive. Since the Gladiator has been heavily modified with over $40,000 to look the way it is right there, then it is a given that it had to be impressive or all that money was just for waste.
@@jedaiahkramer1204 It joined us on Dynatrac's photo shoot but I don't think it did much after that. Most of the week, it was being shown at the Jeep display.

The max tow package is rated to pull 7000 lbs and I would think you'd be more than fine with just 4000
Thanks for sharing EJS with us, and so quickly.

How does the sway bar electronic quick disconnect work? Is it a center module that separates and allows added articulation?
Essentially, yes. There is a gear that connects the 2 sides and it separates to allow for free articulation.

Evo kicked butt with their build !!!
I agree. They really knocked it out of the park. :)
1/4 pounder and stinger for the JL please!!
Yes, I agree :)

What kind of gas mileage is the gladiator getting? I’m guessing that’s why it’s trailered. Maybe with the 3.0 eco diesel it’d be doable for road use.
I have a dumb question how did he mount his shovel to the recovery boards?
There is a hole in the shovel blade. The whole thing gets bolted on.
Top😋😋😋😋
The more I see the Gladiator in action, the more I wish they had made it a single cab. Shorten the wheelbase, lengthen the bed, and it would be great.
