    Wow, incredible ride. Those winches come in handy! And the places you take that Mo-chine to- who says you need a great breakover angle and front lockers! With that back bumper, I would work on getting a nice steel one that looks better on the rig the more you beat it up.
    Oh, and that smoke that comes from the intake valves from the PCV valve, it's supposed to burn off real quick but never does. Any jeepers will let you know that in steep accents, the accumulated oil under the valve cover collects to the backside and trys to burn through one cylinder. It might foul the spark plug, or worse yet clog the manifold. I have an oil catch can when I heard about that. I have to empty it every 2k miles (and the oil mix that's in it smells and feels foul) but I think it's possible that I increased the life of the engine. My dealer said it might not pass smog inspection, but I'll worry about that when the time comes.... again thanks for showing us what the Mojave is capable of.

      There’s a couple other systems available for the smoke refill kit. I have teraflex kit that puts the oil back into the oil fill area. Good luck all

    You know you love the challenges. Sounds like you’re in the same headspace I was in at Windrock… it comes and goes, but wheeling with friends is never a bad day, even when bad things happen. ❤

    Fun to see how on different obstacles the longer wheel base is an advantage. No front locker and walked up the wall vs. the white Rubicon Wrangler with both lockers. Did the red Wrangler that took damage have steel fenders? Wonder if it would have saved body damage if they were plastic? Great video!

    • @FarFromOrdinary
      @FarFromOrdinary  Год назад

      It's a blessing and a curse I tell you what! And GREAT point on those steel fenders (which they are). It's really too bad KBD doesn't make a highline version!

  • @ColoradoDave

    FYI - The first obstacle on Spring Creek is not a gatekeeper obstacle. You can easily drive around it on the alternate portion of the trail.

      True, there is a bypass, but we really don't count the bypasses as part of the trail. If you're going to run a trail like this, you gotta do it all!

    I’m scared to go on my first trip after this lol I guess the rock was too wet in the beginning. Would bead locks and 5 psi done different? I guess I’ll have to stick with the seven trails and below. That sideways sliding into the tree is messed up. I bought all the belly skids from Arctic and other skids from other companies for the control, arms and differentials. The rock slider steps, but still can’t stop certain things from happening unless maybe winching from the get go

      LOL being scared is a good thing! It keeps us in check and prevents us from doing stupid shit. Lower tire pressure could have helped, we were at 12 on our oem wheels. At the end of the day it's a risky hobby!

      @@FarFromOrdinary I was looking over the trail ontrails off-road, So that sliding sideways hill has a bypass looks like? I'll have to see one day when I go if it's wet to bypass it. Only going to try if dry. I don't mind taking much longer with my trails and doing things to proactively thinking ahead to avoid damage. If I had a beater built Jeep or other rig, I could care less what it hit but my baby Im getting till I die and it's a priority to not hit any body panel. Im ok with the fenders flairs I can replace those and will be putting on all the aluminum full skids this year and the other skids under. I'm thinking if I were to slide sideways to stop before and go straight to the winch but in this case it tree was to the right so would need to deal with that. I have one donut pulley in my kit so I would need to maybe set that up to pull more to the left if there was a other tree

    Dang man, this looks even more intense than the last one! Y’all are going hard!
    I love your story-telling. Makes me ask the same question: why do we do this? Personally, I love going places most people can’t get to. I love the beautiful scenery, the relative peace and quiet, the adventure, a little bit of adrenaline, figuring out how to get over the challenges (obstacles), the quality time with my family, and as you mentioned, the great time with friends. All that being said, could we not have found a hobby that’s just a little less expensive, and where the consequences aren’t SO expensive?? LOL!

    Why did everyone continue on the far right side by the tree after seeing the others take body damage and not hook onto the winch point on the left top side?

    • @FarFromOrdinary
      @FarFromOrdinary  Год назад

      Garrett and I both started on the left side away from the tree. After I made it up and then Garret, Ben tried the line by the tree.
