- Although the Nitto Jeep Experience presented by KMC Wheels is an annual off road Jeep event that's been going on since 2016, I'm actually sorry to say Cindy and I had never attended one or at least, not until now. Of course, it does take place right in the middle of Texas and and getting there isn't exactly a hop skip and a jump for us. There was also the question of, what kind of wheeling could there possibly be out in Texas? Well, for those of you who've never been, what I can tell you is that the wheeling at K2 or Katemcy Rock is nothing short of AWESOME! I mean, who knew there were big ass rocks in Texas, with tons of grip and with crazy fun obstacles ranging from MILD 2 WILD! As they like to say out there, it really is the "Moab of Texas"!
In this first of a 2 Part Series, you'll get a glimpse of the epic 24 hour drive that we made from Carson City, Nevada to Mason, Texas and you'll get to see some of the cool pre-run footage that we were able to get of the badass EVO Jeep Gladiator, taking on the rocks - Texas style! We hope you enjoy.

This shows the wheelbase isn’t that much of an issue, like so many think! 👍
Exactly!
@@FJDH11 LOL - while this is true, people said that a Gladiator wouldn't be able to do any of this. Scraping is why we have skid plates and rocker guards. :)
Wow man. Those were some serious freaking rock crawls. Unreal.
It was a pleasant surprise to see OG40 at DWP expo in Dallas this last weekend, now I know why it was here vs. expo west in flagstaff! Thanks Eddy & Cindy!
Awesome that you got to see it in person :)
That gladiator wheelbase makes the JLU look like a 2 door. Awesome truck though. Your trip reminded me of when my buddy took us to his dads cattle ranch in Waco. Love the people and the bbq. Texans know how to have a good time.
LOL!! Kinda felt like it too. As far as Texans go, some of the nicest people I've met anywhere.
That Gladiator it's a monster, crawls like a boss, and looks so so sick.
Sheesh...Mel is going to sell a million of those trucks for Jeep. So cool, thanks Wayalife!
LOL - I think you might be right :)
@@FJDH11 Hyperbole yo, look it up. :)
No he isn't. Every Jeeper I've met hates the new Gladiator. I've had four Jeeps in my lifetime and these are an abomination. If they had done this in a 2dr, maybe.
@@runswithbeer And they all felt the same way about the 4 door wrangler.
Love your videos. I line about 2.5 hours from Mason. All of my family originates from there. I live in Abilene. It was cool to see Bubba in your video! Coincidentally I'm taking my Gladiator to him on 12-20 for gears (5.13), Eaton lockers, and an Evo truss on the front axle. I love this community! Keep up the awesome work.
Awesome! Glad to hear you enjoy our videos.
Only Cindy can make the long drive from Carson City to Texas so interesting! Another fantastic production. Great 👍 video!
She's truly flattered you'd say as much :)
That OG40 is a beast, that flex is incredible! Great coverage guys.
Thanks George! Happy to hear you enjoyed it :)
Well, at least you know these will clear the potholes in the city, mostly.
That course is insane.
LOL
Awesome adventure, if you're ever in Socal, you got to check the Alabama Hills and many awesome off roading attraction with stunning views to the Sierra Nevada. Its all up & down HWY 395, from Lone Pine to Tahoe. Thanks for sharing... don't like rocks much lol ;)
LOL - we're originally from SoCal and have spent the better part of our lives exploring everything between here and there.
Is that an Aussie? We just had an awesome wander into our property last year and adopt us. What a wonderful dog. He was literally running with the coyotes, whistling and dancing in circles just like a coyote. Took us 4 months to capture him, he is just turned out to be the best dog. He looks us in the face and gives kisses just like your little one did
We have a border collie. Kinda like cousins.
Fantastic job. The Gladiator is a monster, made everything look easy. Look forward to what's next for tomorrow
Awesome, so glad you enjoyed it :)
love the sound of that belly scraping on the rocks
Fun! Ray and I just drove through Texas ourselves, who knew they had rocks? 🤷🏻♀️ lol
LOL - believe me, it was a total surprise to us :)
Wow 80 miles from me and didnt even know this place existed. Nice wheeling im going to have to check this place out now.
Awesome! Glad we could share it with you :)
I'm really disappointed I couldn't make it out. Mother's Day weekend and all. Y'all got out here at the perfect time though. Wildflowers still blooming and the summer heat hasn't kicked in.
Oh yeah, from everyone was telling us, we couldn't have come at a better time. Sorry we missed you.
Thanks for coming out ! Cindy kill it again with the hussle to get the shot and the edit !!
Thank you Mel and Lisa for inviting us out to Texas! We had a great time with you out there and we were eager to get this out. Hoping to get part 2 done soon.
Fantastic video, great scenery and great looking jeeps. That Gladiator is incredible, the flex on it is something else. Thanks for taking us along. Safe travels.
So glad you enjoyed it :)
Holy cow! I had no idea that terrain like that even existed in Texas, having seen Texas mostly from interstate highways. What a blast!
LOL!! That's pretty much what we thought as well :)
Awesome work as usual, and thanks for the walk around!
Thanks Bubba, it was a real pleasure to meet you in person.
Awesome rock crawling pal! Thanks for sharing this awesome video. Keep'em coming! Lol
So glad you enjoyed it and hope you'll tune in again to see part 2
I must say; Evo’s Gladiator is one amazing Jeep!
yes it is!
Would really like to see how it does on normal driving. Always seems to be trailered!
Don’t get the thumbs down. Enjoyed the video!
eh, they're just haters of ours and it gives them meaning and purpose in life :) Glad you enjoyed it though :)
Just installed the dynomax muffler delete on my manuel jl... sounds AMAZING!!! thx for the video on it!
Awesome, glad to hear it :)
Very cool. Mel and the crew gave the Badass a good work out. Looks like some good wheeling in Texas. Safe Travels and God Bless!
Thank you - so glad you enjoyed the video :)
I got to sit in this beast when it was here in Michigan beautiful truck
Awesome :)
Your videos continue to be awesome!! I wish I could do all that awesome wheeling!!
Thank you. I hope you're able to someday :)
Looks like y’all had lots of fun. Welcome to Texas!👍🏻
Tons of fun for sure and thank you. We love it down there :)
I really like the content and production of your videos. They’re not over the top and they inspire me to get out and see America. Just simple content with excellent Jeep knowledge. Thanks.
We're humbled that you would say as much and so glad we could inspire you in this way :)
Buddy i gotta tell ya i love that “Rock-a-Billy “ style music you play in your videos ...
LOL - glad to hear it :)
This is just wow. I've seen a lot of off-roading videos but this is the heights. Super cool video and great off roading . Thanks for making this video.
Happy to hear you enjoyed the video :)
Another great story thank you for taking us to Texas looking forward to part 2
Awesome - we're so glad you enjoyed the ride :)
Gotta love Texans, friendly people. Thanks for sharing, your videos makes me want a Jeep and to be part of that awesome community.
So glad you enjoyed the video :)
cool video in a cool place with cool people! wayalife!
Thanks! Katemcy Rocks is awesome for sure and it's always great to wheel with friends :)
Love that gladiator
Happy to see more of this OG40 especially with such great angles you guys get that really show its angles and strengths and length when at the right height
Awesome! Happy to hear you enjoyed our video :)
i almost cried every time the JT scraped.. needs some flat fender flares so it doesn’t rub so bad.
LOL - Mel actually has Rubicon fenders back at the shop and they alone would make all the difference.
Wayalife yes that 2 inch difference would be huge for sure.
Good gosh that gladiator is badass
It really is badass for sure :)
Exodus Jeeps is the best shop in Texas and Bubba is a great dude, very knowledgeable
Bubba is a good dude for sure :)
I love the jeep experience videos! I'm pumped!
Awesome - hope you enjoy it :)
Awesome crawl my brother wow 👍
Thank you :)
Dayum that Gladiator is SIICKK! Love your vids guys, shouting out from down here in NZ as a fellow Jeeper! haha
Thank you, we're so glad that you enjoy our videos :)
Thanks guys for another feel good, excellent quality video. Love it. I want one of those Gladiators still, send me one to Australia.
Awesome, we're so glad you enjoyed the video :)
Another great video! Man Mel’s gladiator OG40 is superbadass!
So glad you liked the video and yes, it really is superbadass.
Those rocks are not nice! LOL That trail is beast!
LOL - they are the real deal and a lot of fun :)
Fender flares self destruct 😂
I actually got excited. Your video made me feel like I was really there . Thanks for that experience. I'm from San Antonio TX.
Awesome! We're so glad to hear it :)
It’s crazy to see the area you grew up in on a video of yours. I grew up in Fredericksburg. It’s just south of mason. I’m glad you enjoyed the hill country.
Beautiful area out there for sure.
Thanks Cindy & Eddie I love seeing OG40 in action. We have been back in Ohio for a few months and I can’t wait to get back out west to get on the rocks. Awesome video.
Glad you enjoyed the video and I hope you're able to get out there sooner than later :)
Always a Good Time 😃.... Awesome to See a JK/JL Experience in the making ! 👍
Glad you enjoyed it :)
That's a beast!!!
yes it is :)
Great video!!!
Thank you!! 😎
Great place and the gladiator is sooooo impressive.
Yeah, who knew there was great wheeling in Texas! The Gladiator did great out there :)
The gladiator needs the high fender flares from the Rubicon, rubbing a lot. Nice video. What a beast, want one......
They have them back at the shop. They just didn't have enough time to get them installed before heading out to Texas.
Wayalife in Europe the Rubicon comes with low fenders, I just bought new Rubicon high fenders in the USA for my JLU Rubicon .......
Damn, you make that shit look easy on those 37’s!
Eddie and Cindy if y’all thought K2 was awesome u should try wolf caves down the road ....it’s same rock formation and wild to mild there 😊
Oh yeah, it's on our to do list. Maybe next time.
Maybe could make it like a wayalife reunion of some sort or a meet in greet that would b cool
What the hell where they even thinking!!..awesomeness to another level
Nicely done! Cinematography is beautiful as usual (Cindy is awesome) & the driving amazing! Especially at 14:00, you nailed that bump (had to watch it 4 times). Can’t wait to see the next installment, thanks for sharing!!
LOL! Thank you, we're so happy to hear you enjoyed the video.
Awesome video thank you for sharing
So glad you enjoyed it :) Part 2 is coming soon.
Eddie & Cindy, Awesome part 1 y'all . I missed the event this time around and really wanted to meet you guys. 😐 Next time around..
Well, you never know. We may just got again :)
Eddie. That was some big stuff. Keep up the fantastic stuff.
Thanks! The rocks out there were the real deal and what you saw was just the easy stuff LOL
I love Going to K2. I try to go every year. So much fun.
Nice video! Can’t wait for part 2! I would love to see more of Randy’s Green JKU
Unfortunately, that Jeep was being used by Randy's step son in law and it was out helping a different group.
That awesome craw. What a sweet crackly and stretching sound.
Welcome to Texas! My avatar is from right down the street. :) Love K2....
Thanks! It was great to get out there and wheel your rocks :)
4 weather seasons in one video lol , amazing as always buddy 👍
LOL - hell of a long drive. Glad you enjoyed it :)
watching that big gladiator eat out on the rocks is a wet dream
LOL - it really was awesome to see in person. Glad we could share it with you :)
Just awesome. Thanks for another great video!
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Nice meeting you eddie and cindy. I'm the guy from Amarillo Tx. Great video
No kidding! It was a real pleasure meeting you. Glad you enjoyed the video and hope you'll come back to see part 2 :)
@@wayalife definitely will. If you ever need anything when coming through just holler.
Crazy stuff.
Crazy that this was just the easy stuff :)
killer video, one of my favorites from you. Glad I subscribed and getting a moment to catch up on your vids! love the end of it when everyone comes together for a good 'le time
Awesome, so glad to hear you enjoyed the video :)
That's one awesome Gladiator makes those boulders look like riding on pebbles. Did notice fender rubbing, I'd swap those out for sure maybe some nice aluminum ones.
Not really a fan of hard metal fenders being that a hard enough hit to them will CAUSE body damage. See our recent Kane Creek video for an example of that. That being said, EVO has Rubicon fenders back at the shop and the extra height should make a big difference in the clearance department :)
Glad y'all made it out to TX :) Was nice getting to finally meet you and Cindy in person!
Hey, it was a real pleasure to meet you as well and we loved it out there!
exodus jeep they are good people helped us out a lot
Yup, Bubba is a good guy and we had fun spending the weekend with him.
Damn it..
Just watching here, i can really feel the adrenaline.
Hopefully i can do this stuff someday.
LOL - awesome, so glad you enjoyed it. Hope you can do stuff like this someday :)
I love see these beast in action! Just gets me anxious to get building up mine!!!
Awesome!
Great video..Loved it..
Mason is got some the best place for wheeling. K2 is no wussy place, be cool if you guys made it too Bridgeport OHV Park, digging the ProRock 80 \m/. Best thing about Katemcy is Currie Anti-Rock is your friend and serious armor. Thanks for coming to TX really glad you guys popped in.
Hello My brother beautiful video
Thank you :)
man I can't wait for the single cab short bed version of the gladiator!
I have a feeling you'll be waiting a long time... a very long time.
........and now I want a Gladiator.
You and me both!
Wow, that Gladiator is beyond awesome! Mel should get a percentage from FCA from all the Gladiators he's going to sell for them. By the way, your dog is a TRUE Jeep dog! She looked so good sitting in the Gladiator's back seat (8:10 & 9:20), enjoying the ride. And so well behaved whenever she's in one of your videos. I need a dog like that! Looking forward to the rest of the series!
LOL!! The dog you see in the Gladiator is Duke, that's Mel's puppy. The Dog helping me to air down is Tessa and she's my old lady and yes, she's very well behaved.
I like your channel , i like jeep, i am from Aceh contry.
Awesome, thank you :)
Wow! Awesome video again. Thanks for sharing Eddie.😍
Happy to hear you enjoyed it :)
In super tight stuff like this the JL looks smoother in the rocks. Gladiator keeps bottoming out even on 40’s but damn it looks good.
Considering how many people said the Gladiator couldn't do any of this, I think it did great :)
Great video as always
You not too shabby on the rock crawl. The Gladiator is imposing.
Not too shabby at all :)
I love your Jeep Experience videos! The sounds in this one had me cringing! 🤣❤️🐞
LOL!! It can be tough to see and hear an awesome, brand new Jeep truck like this making the kind of noises it was making.
that is a seriously nice looking jeep
I know - so much want :)
Great video! I hope y'all had time to go a little further down to Fredericksburg and Luckenbach. The hill country is a great place to visit.
LOL - as a matter of fact, we did go to both! Stopped at a fruit stand to get some peach ice cream along the way and enjoyed the food, live music and a drink at Luckenbach.
That's great! I'm glad y'all came and enjoyed our beautiful state.
Love the video guys and stay safe out there !!!!
Awesome, thanks!
Wayalife glad you made it to Texas.... rock crawling Texas style 🤙
Next time you get to visit Mason for great bbq hit Coopers you will not regret
Actually, just by chance, we did stop in there and got a brisket sandwich. It was more in passing than knowing how good it would be but OMG, it was CRAZY GOOD!
Really great video buddy thank you...the Gladiator looks cool and all but to me the JL Rubicon is still King ,, now i dont own either lol ,, just my personal observation from watching to many vids lol
PhatboyHD88 nice the gladiator isn’t intended to replace the wrangler never has been. it is built to compete with the taco and ranger and Colorado . But it’s so far ahead of those that are no were to be found !!
Great job as always on the video. Thank you
So glad you enjoyed it :)
Cool vid, and your dog steals the show!
LOL!! Thank you. Tessa appreciate it :)
Looks like fun 😁
Tons of fun :)
WOW! If that’s the basic lift kit for the gladiator I can only imagine what Mel will come up with later 🤔.. thank you guys for the awesome content! Keep up the great work
Seriously! He's already working on a customer Gladiator and installing their coil over system. So glad you enjoy our videos :)
What a great Gladiator. Mel can build a thousand of those and sell them all in a day? Great video as always, can wait to see what other fun you have in Texas.
LOL - you're probably right. Hope you check back for part 2
I missed your videos but another great video
Missed? We've been posting a new one about twice a week :)
