  • Phases 1 and 2 of the CODEX build covered the chopping of the body and frame to effectively transform the Dynatrac Gladiator into a 2-Door Extra Cab pickup truck. They also highlighted the installation of a 707 HP supercharged 6.2L Hellcat HEMI by America's Most Wanted 4x4, the mounting of a Patriot Camper PCOR box, the wrapping of the body by Sticky Finger Designs and the installation of Rhino Rack roof racks. In this video, you'll get to see the work that was done over at Savvy Off Road for the 3rd and final phase of this build and that would include the installation of a Rock Krawler long arm suspension system, new Fox Factory Race Series 3.0 Internal Bypass Recirculating Finned Remote DSC Shocks up front, Fox 2.0 Coilovers in the rear, a Dynatrac XD60 front axle with PRO 1550 knuckles, ProRock 80 rear axle and of course, 40" Milestar Patagonia tires mounted on Method Wheels. We hope you enjoy.

    fun watching the pros with unlimited tools and deep pockets build. The 40's look proportional to the lift/build. There are so many paths one can take with design and lifestyles. Not that anyone cares, my tastes run more to the diesels, portals and less is more, but I certainly can appreciated that others think differently and enjoy by proxy.

    I don't care what anyone says about it, like it's not practical but to me it's perfect. It would take me and my girlfriend anywhere we wanted to go. Plus it's perfect since it has such a short wheel base to keep if from high centering cause when your wheeling alone you want to make sure you don't get stuck. Badazz build

    This truck is a design excercise. That could suit some people. And depending on the placement of gussets and braces could in fact be stronger than stock. There is software called "finite element analysis" to determine that. They are ad in packages to Pro-E, Auto CAD, Catia, or similar products.
    But face it. This vehicle is for fun and adventure. Not everyone can buy it! But many may like it!

    I have a hard time to see the point of this build. Take a 4 door truck and make it a two door, then remove the bed and make it so there is only enough space to carry your spare tire.
    Why?
    They spend a crap ton of money to make something that is way less usable that a stock gladiator. If they wanted a 2-door Jeep without a truck bed, WhyTF did they not just get a 2-door wrangler and save the countless thousands they spent turning the Gladiator into a 2-door Wrangler?
    That EVO Gladiator you showed us seems way more useful to a anyone who doesnt live alone and never plans on making a friend to take with them.

    • @wayalife
      @wayalife  5 лет назад +13

      Personally, I could't agree with you more but I do understand what Dynatrac was trying to accomplish with this build and if nothing else, it's getting people to talk.

    • @pablomax3045
      @pablomax3045 5 лет назад +4

      @Brian Richner And now, neither can this thing with it's chopped from. Or, are you claiming that a chopped and welded back together frame is just as strong?
      You could have added the bigger axles and brakes to a Wrangler and added bigger springs as well to increase the tow rating to beyond what this chopped up shortty is.

    • @krasnaludek298
      @krasnaludek298 5 лет назад +1

      It’s like an Aussie style rambler. Field truck for mucking around as opposed to hauling/towing, which is not the Gladiator’s strong suit anyway. Think - Adventure or weekending vehicle.

    • @pablomax3045
      @pablomax3045 5 лет назад +3

      @@krasnaludek298 Exactly what I mean. Then what is the point to use the Gladiator and totally change it to something it isn't when he could have gone with a Wrangler 2D for way, way less cost and effort?
      To each their own I guess. It's not like he's spending my money or anything.

      You're easily looking at a six figure rig here. Aside from the Hellcat and axles, there was a TON of custom work done on it.

    Love the truck and all of your videos!!! Any idea what the make of the front bumper of Code X at the beginning of the video? I know it was swapped out for the stubby and more clearance by the end.

    absolutely insane build, MF Prorock 80! you should mention the price tags on your videos, like you did with the first Gladi video you made, where it cost $35k in mods in the sport JT

    • @wayalife

      In order to change your differentials, you'd need to replace the entire axles.

    Correct me if I am way off base here, but what’s the point of this build when everything Gladiator has been removed? Could you not have built this exact rig out of an Unlimited?

    • @DOUBLEDEFENSE
      @DOUBLEDEFENSE 5 лет назад

      Jeep says its a different vehicle even though looks are similar.Probably has a better frame for the hellcat then the JL due to higher towing capacity etc

    • @wayalife
      @wayalife  5 лет назад +1

      Personally, I'm totally with you on this. The idea was that the frame of the Gladiator was designed to be that of a truck but after all the hacking, I'm not sure if it'd make much of a difference now.

    • @JeepLJ3
      @JeepLJ3 5 лет назад

      DOUBLEDEFENSE the JL can support the Hellcat swap as well, if the argument is over the towing capacity, then I’ll blow that out of the water as this is a highly modified vehicle at this point. I’m not bashing it in the least, it’s amazing how quickly this Jeep was transformed. All I am saying is there could have been a considerable amount of savings here by building this exact rig out of an Unlimited.
