Are you related to Jonna Jinton? You look like the male version of her. You have the same mannerism as she does and the same expressions. Even your speech is similar. I LOVE her and now that I have found your channel, I love watching you too :)
Dear Jonna, we are watching your channel in Lithuania. Your videos are magical and mesmerizing. I don’t speak enough English to express our admiration for your art. Best wishes to you from Lithuania ❤
It's lovely. Jonna, it's because of you l found this channel too. ❤. Listening to your name from someone else's video is an amazing feeling. Kalle, you have a beautiful cabin with a beautiful view. You are so lucky to live in such a place .
hej hej love your content, Im a Scottish girl living in Paris and dream only of your kinda life and tranquilty, the crazy cold winters are exciting, Scotland isnt as cold normally as where you are, but i feel we are a rare few weirdos that love and enjoy the nature. If you are ever interested in having guests or selling up. Give me a shout, I can bring the french wine or Scotch to discuss
We also have a fairly drafty cabin with gaps around doors. Something we do is put long skinny ‘pillow’ like things on the floors right against the doors to block the drafts. I made them with fabric and any kind of stuffing, to form a long tube that lays in front of the door and stops some of the air from moving into the living space. I can send a picture if this isnt clear, but they really do help quite a lot.
Your home is so beautiful! Thank you for sharing it with us. I love everything, but especially the light fixture. What a great idea! Armejringsjärn is rebar grid used in concrete construction.
Love the cabin! Have you heard of a draft excluder? Lots of old homes here in England use them at the bottom of doors to stop the cold wind coming through. As well as thick heavy curtains across doors to keep the cold out and heat in. 😊
I was just about to tip Kalle on the same thing, in Sweden we call it Dragkorvar and the best thing is that you can make them of your own, just sew a big long "Korv" and fill it with sand.
Wonderful, wonderful home tour. I’m in the US so don’t know any equivalent terminology. What came to mind was wool roving wrapped around/under a board, and secured to the entry draft area.
I was thinking the same. Or door brushes, that screw to the bottom of the door to close the gap and as they are attached to the door they are very simple and effective.
I don't want a mansion! I want a beautiful cabin surrounded with trees, plants and lots of flowers, like yours. I love the solitude. I live in the city and it didn't felt like home to me. I wish I could find a home like yours, Kalle!
sometimes people just need to hate certain people, in order to feel their life and family is going well. sometimes the world we live in becomes more important than certain humans. i pray for you and your family, Kalle. and my hope and prayer is that people learn to love and care about me too someday. obcviously that day has not came yet, im hopeful though.
The previous owners of this cabin must be happy that this house is in very good hands. And this beautiful old stove, from the Swedish brand par excellence, will probably still be working in 100 years. Husqvarna means quality for eternity.
I love when you say the names of things in Sweedish. Nice to see a video from you...sending much love to you both. You guys have so much love here and I think it's beautiful.
The metal mesh you are hanging the lights from is called reinforcing mesh, and is used for all sorts of handy things, but was invented to reinforce concrete, especially in concrete flooring, or concrete driveways to homes, to make them much stronger. In Australia, we shorten just about every word, so it's called "reo mesh"...or even just "reo"! As in "What about hangin' y' lights from a hit o' reo? That'd be okay." You did ask...! 😁👍❤🦘 I really enjoyed the video...and l love the lights...hangin' from the reo, like that...so good, mate! 😊💡💡💡God bless you.
What a great cozy cabin! It has great details that you added that make it so special! What luck that you had a rope in the bedroom when you got locked in!! I look forward to your next video Kalle 😃
Just love your channel so much! Thank you! It brings a little Scandinavian sweetness to my life and awareness here in Brooklyn, NY. I love the hammock chair by the fire. Thank you,! 🙏🕊☺️
Hej, hej Kalle! Thank you for the tour. You did an amazing job 🤩! So many well thought through details. I especially like your stove and the light installations 💡🕯. And another thing: the video quality is superb! Take care!
Such a ' gezellig' cottage like we say in Dutch for cosy. I think in Danish it's similar to Hygge! very lovely to see the layout. hope you both are doing okay after your sad experience and well done for moving forward with so much positivity. love from The netherlands!
Lots of creativity!! 👏 Its beautiful and I love the décoration 😊 The kitchen!!😍😍 Cozy is best word to describe your house. Send you two lots of love and take care hugs ❤💚
Cattle panel fencing is what it looks like to me that you have used for the lights. And we call them metal brackets that are helping to hold the shelves up.
In the old days we used long tubes, made of left over fabric, filled with whatever cloth scraps or wool remnants we had, and we would put them down where the door meets the floor and also at the base of the windows. Keeps the draft out of the room
Dear Kalle, so nice to see that you give so much love and work into your home! I loved the beginning with the short blooper 😄 Did you try these stuffed "snakes" for the door with the gap? You know, like these long fabric thingies that stop the air going through the gaps of the doors in the living room. Those make a big difference 🙏 A very beautiful home for you 😌
Oh! And me and my boyfriend thought that you also could cover the fridge with these incredible beautiful woodpieces -with the help of magnets! Just an idea^^
Thanks for your house tour! Lovely to see so much wood 💚🌲 beautiful! It makes me realise that I need to totally declutter my own home... Stuff accumulates over the years... Good stuff of course! Don't forget to leave a few drafts to give air to the fire!
Hello sweet Kalle hope u and Wife are happy and well. Always enjoy yr voice and knowledge. 🤘💝 USA here.. For now till u renovate u should put a towel or heavy rug along the bottom. Or I'm sure u could make like a 2 sided door puffy cover, people here buy 2 pieces of foam and fabric, u sew them in fabric and it slides under the door. Keeps out drafts from both sides,
Every single time you show your cabin I find my self repeating the same: Esta Bello!!!!🥰The outside, the inside decor, the spaces; it's so beautiful!!!
I like the cloth enclosure around your bed. I can see where that would make it much cozier and promote much better sleep. And having it colder where you sleep is beneficial as well!
Kale, I love your cosy cabin in the woods. The simplicity and peace is fabulous. However, there is a lot of hard work to maintain everything I'm sure. You keep it amazing.
It seems like an amazing and picture perfect life but I know there are hardships especially in the winter. But it still does still seem like a dream.:)
I realise this video is a year old, but a tip to protect your floors when emptying the ash into the bucket is to lay some tiles infront of your wood stove, and fireplace. Or old bricks. ( about two bricks deep.) you can find old tiles or old bricks - you can keep your cosy cabin feel, but keep yourhome safe.( my grandpa was a firefighter but always had a wood stove in the house, and spare cabin) so they always had the stove raised on bricks. Fireplaces also had a row of bricks in front. ( river rock works out good as well) - my girlfriend had river rock around their wood stove and fireplace- also good behind kitchen stove.
Love that you have almost no bought furniture 🤎 And the rooms are so spacious and cosy at the same time. Reminds me of a small farmhouse I lived in for a while in the Swiss mountains - it had a green wool carpet in the living room that made you feel it was grass or moss indoors, and so much art on the walls that had been payment for the organic veg grown in the garden. It was heated by a typical tiled stove that served both kitchen and living room. The attic with low windows had simply been painted white, it was beautiful. Very fond memories! Touches that make a house a home, like you have, too.
Hi. Your house looking not attractive outside, but inside it's make my soul is warm☺️ Absolutely magnificent house. Looking at this video i reminder my child hood in a Russian village. 🙏
I det enkla bor det vackra som man säger. Väldigt intressant att få se insidan av er fina stuga. Älskar alla lösningar ni gjort, inspirerande. Tack! 😃❤
Some object built with your father, some with your mother, some with your friends and so much more. Shows the amazing and wonderful connection you have with this lovely cabin.❤️❤️
Hey Kalle I also live in an old house on the coutry side of Brazil, I was wondering outside the house, and I found a date of 1930. It was amazing. Beautiful video
Thank you for the tour of your house. I also live in an old house in Sweden, and this was great inspiration to find cosier and cheaper ways of fixing the house. I´m definetley going to show this to my husband the next time we sit down to make plans for our house. And I hope you and Christine feel better. We experienced a miscarriage a couple of years ago. I will never forget it, but the pain have faded with time.
Really enjoyed this. I loved the connections of the table and light made with your mum and dad. The writing on the wall is so special. Great to see an insight into your personalities, through a different angle. An incredible home x
For the gap in your door to the hallway we have a draft excluder .. you can buy one or you can use and old blanket or towel roll it up and block the draft it won’t completely stop it but will help a bit hopefully 🙏
Thank you for the tour of your cozy cabin :) So many beautiful solutions. I thought to share a couple things that I thought might be helpful. We have a similar door crack in our little mountain cabin -- we roll up a thick towel and put against it, so there is no draft of cold air. Not the same as a perfectly insulated door, but greatly reduces heat loss. I also wanted to suggest to look into a Russian stove which is known for a great heating quality and retention. I realize it'd be a huge project to rebuild a stove, but may be some aspects of the design could be useful. Lastly, I wanted to mention that we use wood ash in our garden and it makes a great fertilizer.
Kalle&Kristina u have a beautiful cabin. U did alot of great&creative work. Absolutely love it and thank u for showing us your home. I really do hope everything will work out for u both in your life and with a RUclips too so u can make the cabin warm with insulation and running water, heating and bathroom
I loved the tour. Your cabin is so lovely. You can see that a lot of love and dedication has gone into it. I absolutely love the lights (Chandeliers) over your dining table and in the kitchen. Very beautiful.
Morning from the UK Kalle. WOW even after watching all of your videos I hadn’t realised how much more of your beautiful cabin I hadn’t seen. Every inch holds a memory, the true mark of a great home. You should feel really proud of everything you have achieved. I have to laugh because here in the UK house prices have become ridiculous. I see houses that were bought 2 years ago now on the market and selling for 200k more. Your picture perfect home would be worth millions over here. So sharing this full tour is all the more magical to watch and see a property with soul that is priceless not because of the geographical location but because of the love you have given it, it reminds us Brits how a home should be regarded rather than a place to be used for financial gains. On a separate note, do you know about the hot brick trick? Place a brick in foil into your oven or on your fire, you can then use it as a hot water bottle, in the bed, or anywhere else you need heat. Ensure there is a good amount of foil so it doesn’t burn any wood! If too dangerous use a hot water bottle by boiling the water on the fire stove. Also have you ever thought of adding water pipework to the stove so it heats up pipes around your home and acts as central heating?
I love your cabin it’s so homey & cozy & well thought out . I especially liked the lights you made hanging from rope & the wooden crates for various storage .
You should keep your wood ash for garden fertilizer! I really love your design. Elegant and simple.. and how you have creatively reused old items and repurposed
We always had a window escape ladder when our kiddos slept upstairs. We'd have a fire drill a couple times a yr. You guys may want to consider one they collapse and you can just keep in a drawer or the corner or under the bed. They just latch on the window ledge and unfold down the outside. Ours was metal.
Just found your channel. First watched your episode about you buying your dream cabin & totally changing your lifestyle to country living. Living the “Good Life”means away from the crowds & cities. Back to the basics with a lot of fresh air & open space.
Great job creating a cozy cabin, I love it! Just a suggestion, the places you hit your head, take some soft leather and cut it like fringe and tack it to the beams. That way you should feel the tickles before you hit your head.
The cabin looks great! Have you considered putting up some smoke alarms? That way if you're in the bedroom you will be able to hear the alarm way before you are able to smell the smoke.
The little wood oven is super cute. It surprises me that in such a cold climate it seems quite common to have such little wood ovens to cook on, rather then a big wood oven you load up to keep going day/night. Your cabin is lovely and cosy.
I find it hard to believe you cook everything at home with such little counter space! It looks lovely, though I’d need at least a little table by the window for making bread and such.
I was hoping for a video like this for quit some time now. It's so much fun to see how you live and to see all the smart solutions and things you reused! You really have a lovely, cozy cabin. 😍😍
Thanks for the tour of your cozy cabin. It was nice to see all the little details. ♥️ I love all the work you’ve done, especially the rope and lights. So glad to hear you are feeling better. ♥️🙏
Kalle, Thank you for the tour. I love the looks and layout of your cabin. I can sympathize with the cold hallway, studio and bedroom! I grew up in a farmhouse, built about 1835, with one heating register in the front hall, right in front of the stair door. That door was kept closed most of the winter to keep the heat downstairs. I have delusions of living simply, but in truth am a packrat. You give me hope that I can change. You and Christine inspire me to do better.
Love the rope hanging shelves. Might steal that idea. Just wanted to say in case you didn’t know, it can be dangerous to keep a bucket of hot ash indoors...my husband was a firefighter and came across situations where folk had been poisoned due to carbon monoxide seeping from hot ash buckets...so they should always be put outside the living area. Also if your stove is anything like ours and doesn’t have its own piped in air supply, you would need to have that gap under the door to allow a good flow of air to feed the stove. We have draughty old windows that feed air into the rim for our stove, but we were told if we get double glazing windows fitted we would need to get a piped air supply for the stove. I love what you have done to the cabin, it’s great seeing it transforming into a home. May the force be with you. 💚🙏💚
I love your cozy cabin. In one video Christine mentioned mice droppings on dishes so I’m wondering if you could enclose the boxes on the wall where you store your food. Maybe that would make it less appealing to mice.

In the old days my grandmother made sausage shape pillows to put in the windows and doors against the wind and gaps in the winter.

Hello dear , how are you doing?
4:18 Armeringsjarn is called rebar in English. I like the industrial aesthetic that you have in your home.
It is so beautiful, sure it is a challenge with no running water, despite the challenges, super beautiful how you two made it home
Your home is so beautiful! Thank you for sharing it with us. I love everything, but especially the light fixture. What a great idea! Armejringsjärn is rebar grid used in concrete construction.

Hello 👋 dear, how are you doing?
Dry supplies=dried goods. The thing over the table hanging the lights is called rebar in English, short hand for reinforcement bar. 😃 Be well
The previous owners of this cabin must be happy that this house is in very good hands. And this beautiful old stove, from the Swedish brand par excellence, will probably still be working in 100 years. Husqvarna means quality for eternity.

The material.that you.use for your lights above the dinner table.is called construction steel. In German: Baustahl. We used it for our greenhouse. 😊
I love the light you built in main room, and the fire area is amazing. The ropes with black iron or piping is perfect
Love your beautiful cabin Kalle ....very peaceful ...
Many Blessings..💞💚💞💚💕

What are we wating for. So manny likes and love to you both.♥️
We always had a window escape ladder when our kiddos slept upstairs.
Thank you for showing your home, Kalle! It's a very practical and beautiful place to live. You should be proud...
It's so inspiring!! It's like stepping into a fairytale! ...
Your cabin is absolutely beautiful! It's spacious, open, rustic and so clean. Thumbs up! Beth
Armeringsjern is called "rebar", reinforcementbars in english.
But good, clean and cheap solution.
I’d call the items you used for the lights “rebar” or steel rods.
I find it hard to believe you cook everything at home with such little counter space! It looks lovely, though I’d need at least a little table by the window for making bread and such.
Your house is absolutely stunning! It became an inspiration for my (future) cabin
I was hoping for a video like this for quit some time now. It's so much fun to see how you live and to see all the smart solutions and things you reused! You really have a lovely, cozy cabin. 😍😍
Very nice cabine. I prefered the old kitchen. Very beautiful bed. All over very cosy and looks warm 👍
Thanks for the tour of your cozy cabin. It was nice to see all the little details. ♥️ I love all the work you’ve done, especially the rope and lights.
So glad to hear you are feeling better. ♥️🙏
You are such a kind and honest guy and have done such a wonderful job!
I love your guys home so much! It’s beautiful ❤️
Your lifestyle is a blessing! Thank you for sharing!
The table is wonderful! Also love the lighting. All is beautiful. Thanks for showing.
Kalle,
Thank you for the tour.
Great video Kalle, you've both done a great job on the cabin. It's something I'm dreaming of doing in Lithuania!
UK. I just love your chandelier over the dining table.
Hi Kalle! Did You know that most refrigrators have reversible doors. Check out Yours! and keep up a good work!
You and Christine have the coziest looking space!
The metal bars are in Northern America called "rebar". Used to strenghten concrete..
What a wonderful keepsake to have.. a table made with your Dad😊❤️🙌
One of my best memories 🥰
You should put a little frame on the wall around that signature and date! So cool!
I love your cozy cabin. In one video Christine mentioned mice droppings on dishes so I’m wondering if you could enclose the boxes on the wall where you store your food. Maybe that would make it less appealing to mice.
Beautiful cabin. Thanks for the tour. You’ve achieved so much.
