Vitamin A Crash Course - Signs and Symptoms of Vitamin A Deficiency
Vitamin A is a fat soluble vitamin that comes from several different foods. Liver, milk fat, butter, and cheese are some of the richest sources of vitamin A. Additionally, pro vitamin A (carotenoids) can be found in carrots, sweet potato and other bright yellow and orange colored fruits and vegetables.
Vitamin a deficiency symptoms can include visual disturbance, leaky gut, slow healing, infertility, poor night vision, acne, and recurring infections.

Had to take A and D as a child. I was born in a prison, spent the first year in that prison. I had rickets. My adopted parents gave me cod liver oil and made me play out side in the sun. Also put iodine in oil and put all over my body. Thank the Lord I never broke a bone. What is your best source and how much a day?

I have hypothyroidism. Never had my Vit A checked BUT started to supplement myself with 4,800 mcg per diem for my skin, hair & nails being 66 years old. I take psychtropics being Manic Depressive (quite balanced now) in addition to Topamax and Seroquel. However, I have had my gall bladder and right kidney removed, the lattermost due only to a birth defect, not disease. I'm without teeth because the dentures made for me were unwearable, the dentist I consulted refusing to assist me afterwards by saying it was all my fault, literally. No lie. (I've had a husband, friends and both parents with dentures and none of them had the difficulties I did with mine. 😑) I'm going to contact you, Doctor, on your embedded site in the facts listed below this podcast in order to get a more direct response. I hope this is amenable. Thank you. Your podcast is amazing, I'll be watching the others.

Thanks for all the information! I would add that a possible link between vitamin A and Hashimoto's disease is that I've seen that vitamin A deficiency is common in chronic infections and since vitamin A is such an immune booster it then helps with providing the immune system much needed support. Through this the immune system (along with other supplements) can resolve the chronic infection (usually EBV) and Hashimoto's markers resolve itself.

How much vitamin A should we take? Don’t want too much or too little as can cause brittle bones let alone the other issues . Regarding bones and dosing vitamin D, the ratio is important . Lab levels are always conservative for optimal so how do we know if we are optimal ?
Why can no one decide in a ratio ? I’ve read from 30:1 8:1 4:1 2:1 and down to 1:1 with vitamin a being the former . Why is it so hard ?
    Thanks

I have a skin disease acne rosacea and ocular rosacea from taking a acne drug called roaccutane. And i have all the problems with skin eyes and sex hormones leaky gut. And iv heard that roaccutane has somthing to do with damaging my vitamin a function along with the gallbladder and it goes on. Can reverse this with the right amount of vitamin A along with detoxing, exercise and a carnivor or keto diet ?

Raw primal diet will be the easiest to digest for a leaky gut. Avoid grains and vegetables. Avoid over ripe fruits. Raw meat and raw bone marrow !!!
