1)Cod Liver
2)Grass-fed butter/ghee
3)Egg yolks
4)liverwurst/liver cheese
Thank you sir, love you!
I eat all of these.
I eat two fillets of salmon a day
during the week i eat about 4 eggs a day, on occasion i cook beef with grass fed butter
@@AlbertKingboss that's not the full list as given by Dr Berry
Interesting story, I hated liver as a child and was forced to eat it because I was anemic. I swore I’d never eat it as an adult. I became pregnant at the age of 20. What did I crave? Liver! I ate beef liver, sautéed chicken livers … I ate it several times a month throughout my pregnancy. I gave birth to a healthy baby boy who’s now 37, and a smart and healthy man. 😊
I believe we “know” what we need.
If we listened more to our own body we would be fine.
If I eat eggs, then I’m probably not going to want them the next day and the same with anything rich.
The only thing we seem to be able to keep on eating over and over more and more till it kills us is carbohydrate.
My options eggs, butter, salmon
Finally hearing more about this publicly! It is frustrating to see the plant foods advertised that they are high in vitamin A.
Hunting and fishing family here....we eat the whole animal.
Was taught at a very young age not to waste any part of it. My grandfather said that animal gave its life so you can live, respect the animals. My grandmother also tanned the hides from big game. Sadly that part of our tradition was never passed down.
I listen to you every day. Thanks so very much for sharing Dr Ken. God bless you all 💖 from texas
Fantastic video...THUMBS UP!!!! I had my gall bladder removed forty nine years ago, and I have had issues that were missed by doctors. I have researched, and discovered the gut, brain connection, and the vagus nerve as well. These played a big part in the mystery, and my road to freedom seems to be vitamin A, and, bile salts, and/ or, a digestive enzyme routine. I am getting to the end of my confusion, and frustration. I need to make sure that my HBP meds won't be adversely affected, and then I can move toward the solutions to these issues. Thank you for the clarification regarding vitamin A. I too, was sure it was not fat soluble. How do these confusing statements get published? I am positive I read that somewhere, so I disregarded vitamin A completely. You are such a relief to so many!
Yup, we eat all those things! Had 2 feeds of turkey liver this week. Also make our own liver pate. Thanks for all your info Dr. Ken. 2 huge fans way up here in northern Ontario Canada😊❤️
Thank you, Dr. Berry! Haven’t tried liverwurst but, I love all the rest. Will be trying liverwurst and maybe liver sausage. Thank you for all you do!
After waiting several videos I could say that I finally found my doctor. Thanks for your researching and links!
This is my kind of diet. I guess my farm raising and being a lifelong hunter and fisherman paid off. I love all liver, venison liver (fresh), pork liver, turkey liver, chicken livers, calf liver and also liver pudding (livermush) and liverwurst. Also love trout and salmon.
My kinda guy
Haven't had liver pudding in ages... I want to know where he gets some of the other liver he suggests. I should probably eat more liver than I do.
Yumz, to all of your suggestions. Thank you for sharing this important information with us all. Take care, stay safe, & be well. 😷❤🙂🐶
Thank you for clearing this up. I was very confused on the topic.
I swear there are no coincidences in life. I found this vid this morning and I have had some of these symptoms and went to the dermatologist and he have me a great creme for my itchy exema but I also have dry itchy eyes. Coincidentally, I have recently subscribed to a wild seafood company in Alaska and we have salmon and cod about 3 times a week. My dry scalp and itchy skin have gotten better and I haven’t connected the two things together. I also use good Irish butter so I’m on the right tract, I just need more of it. Now to find good liver . . . I also eat sardines but not on a regular basis. Deviled eggs are regularly on our menu. Thank you, thank you, this was so informative.
Thank goodness for eggs and butter.
Ha ha ha same here
Kerry gold butter from Ireland!
Oh Lord me too... love my Kerrygold butter
Zzz
Amen!
Except for the fish, I love all the sources of vitamin A. I've always eaten lots of beef liver, lamb's liver, butter, and eggs. My mother used to make us liver sausage sandwiches when I was a kid. Now I just slather it on celery or just eat it right out of the container. I still haven't QUITE switched over to carnivore, but I'm working on it. Love your channel. I've shared your words with my husband who has only recently started a keto way of life, and it's because of both you and Dr Berg
I love your videos. Thanks for the excellent info.
I am apparently getting way more Vitamin A in my diet than I thought, I eat 3 eggs (with yolks of course) cooked with grassfed butter and 6 strips of bacon for breakfast on most days. I eat quite a lot of salmon.
Do you have nice skin tone ?
Awesome video 😍 liver, eggs, and butter are my favorites 🙏 thank you
I generally eat 3-4 eggs a day, braunschweiger a couple times a week, and sardines once or twice a week, so I’m pretty covered on a lot of vitamins.
Tnank you dr. For the viable information that is rarely mentioned on the net.
Love ur videos Dr Berry! Thank you
Excellent information, thank you so much 😊
Thank you so much dr.. God bless you! 🙏🏼
Braunschweiger is delicious with some grass fed cheese and a bit of mustard
I eat it almost daily. Love it!
I eat it every day. Never thought to pair mustard with it. Will have to try!
@chim choo ree try to find the jones brand, might not be everywhere, but its the best I have found
US Wellness Meats makes a great one. No fillers or MSG etc.
I like it with mayo on toast!
Thank you for accurate information. I'm so tired of being misled by supposed authorities
I eat all the sources you gave. I especially love chicken liver and liverwurst. I usually have 2 eggs, over easy, fried in Kerrygold butter. We’ll have sardines or canned salmon a few times a week.
Thanks for all you do and sharing so much good information to keep us healthy!
kgmtnwmn meant to say eat those eggs pretty much every day.
Is kerrys gold grass fed butter ???
@@kevinwilson3337 yes
Where do we get chicken liver
When we were kids my grandmother would get the liver of a freshly slaughtered chicken(she was a farmer woman),throw it directly on the hot metal woodstove, bake it, sprinkle it with salt and separate it in a few parts and give it to us children
Since child I love eating chicken organ meats
Today I buy loads of chicken liver and giblets
Even had today
the best and cheapest food ever
here in Canada, not many people like it so it is dirt cheap and absolutely healthiest thing ever.
My mother was a single mom with 5 kids. You know what: I never went hungry! We ate the cheap meats; bacon bones, soup from chicken frames, liver, kidney (I could never eat tripe), gristly (or is that grisly?) steak cuts.
Thank you Dr:)best advice.
Thank you doctor. Subscribed!
Cod liver is quite tasty, it surprised me, not bitter at all. Comes in a can, usually sourced from Iceland.
If you can’t handle cod liver oil, Carlson has one that’s lemon flavour, huge difference! First time I tried it I was so scared thought I might get sick or choke, just the thoughts, but it tastes so good I don’t even have to drink water afterwards. They won an award for it, comes in a green glass bottle.
This. Make sure to get the lemon flavor. I got unflavored accidentally once……once 😂
Oh no !
Hi, Dr Berry 😊
I Iike all the food sources that you recommended. I really like liver, with salt and black pepper, fried in lard. Also, I add Tabasco sauce for more flavor. Absolutely Delicious!😁
Liver and onions are a favorite. Are onions alright. I think I' d like to slip some in with the liver.
Thank You, Dr. Berry!! I love chicken livers, liverwurst & eggs! Got this covered!
Love liverwurst spread on my pork rinds, ghee in my coffee and eggs cooked in ghee. I think I’m good! Thanks Dr Berry
Very informative about Vitamin A. Thank you Dr. Berry. You are the best👍
Thank you again so much for this great info. I needed this. I love liver, butter, liver wurst and eggs. 😁
I'm currently trying to learn to like liver. I've always hated it. But growing up my mom fed us liverwurst and braunschweiger. And I loved those!
Thank you for sharing the truth! There's SO much misinformation from all of the big food companies about nutrition. I can't do liver at all!! It makes me gag!! But I love butter, salmon, sardines, cod, and eggs (especially hard boiled)!
Beef liver, mackerel, sardines :). Thank you Doc!
Wow just realized I had been not eating liver and eggs for a couple weeks now. No wonder my eyes were getting dry. Getting headache too. Thanks dr Berry !
These videos are great
Love most every thing you mentioned. 😊
I make my own chicken liver pate (no preservatives or dodgy ingredients). I also love eggs and salmon. Had a DNA test and discovered that my body has trouble converting carotene to vitamin A. Just as well I have never gone vegetarian.
Love liver, egg yolk, gee, fatty fish, all of them! Liverwurst is great too!
Sal K lol are you german?
@@repperfreak6373 Sorry no I am not. Plus that is not even funny or called for. I just know great food!
Sal K haha sorry, i didnt watch the video till the end and didnt see him mentioning it first xD me being german I thoought oh wow, bc i thought its only eating in german countries..
I’m currently going through painful dry eyes. Began a year ago when I noticed a stickiness to my eyes upon waking up. Now it’s so painful and using drops throughout the day, I went to a functional medicine doctor for blood work to see if I’m vitamin A deficient. Still waiting on results but this list is perfect, thank you.
Did your dry eye improve? What did your functional medicine doctor find?
Probably due to Covid19.
It drops your reserves of the Vit and the protein that binds to it.
I hope you are doing well now
Yeah, last year, I repeatedly advised my two pregnant girl friends to eat liver, cod liver, sardines, eggs, red meat etc. - daily! What did they do? They got prenatal vitamin pills instead. The doctors told them liver and fish was forbidden during pregnancy. I told them that was a lie and they better stopped listening to the so called doctors. They stopped listening to me, instead.
It's pretty sad, Lucie :( At least you tried, it's really nice there are people like you.
So sorry that that happened to you. My doctor laughs at me for doing keto and fasting despite the fact we’ve reversed my husband’s type 2 diabetes and we’ve lost over 110lbs between us, Liz x
@@janesha3578 Thank you so much! It's been a hard challenge but one we've relished and are now going to continue on with keto and fasting and making videos to help others not make the mistakes we made lol! xx
Happy to hear that egg yolks are on the list...Even if I don't manage to eat enough eggs, I can get egg yolks in Haagen Dazs vanilla ice cream. I think there are egg yolks in their coffee ice cream too...I'm gonna google to see, because now that I'm thinking of it, I want some. The only other food on the list that I would eat is the grass fed butter.
Love chicken livers, eggs, and butter. Haven't had liverwurst in a long time but may try it again. Love fish also.
Thank you sir this is very helpful information please make more videos also on vitamin D ...magnesium..Iron.. and what are the benefits and how and what time of the day to take them and will it interact with other vitamins that you take and shit all vitamins be taken with vitamin C. Thank you so much👍
Been getting dry eyes dr. And found your video 💪🏼
I eat every thing mentioned in the video and I love all of them several times a week.
Dr. Berry, we LOVE you. The keto foods you recommend are basically ALL the ones we ate growing up in the 50s & 60s. I actually love all the Vit A foods you mentioned. I do have a Vit A supplement 10,000 IU labeled "vision support" Vit A as palmitate. Is this synthetic? Will it help me or hurt me?
Hi Nolu, unfortunately, palmitate is probably the worst form of vitamin A. I'd replace it with either heme iron supplements or real food. If you eat some of the foods mentioned, you shouldn't worry about supplements :)
@@AlbertKingboss Thanks so much for your reply! I've tossed the Vit A. I'm using Cronometer to track my eating and it seems like I'm getting enough A and most others from FOOD. Imagine that!
@@NoluCN That's amazing! Wish you a lot of luck on your health journey!
Excellent doctor thank you
I like that list...I never use Facebook though,
Thanks again from Holland Europe 💖
I just knew you were going to say liver!! Being a sheep farmer who processes his own lamb, and having access to cheap liver, I have to be innovative in how I cook it so that it is palatable! Lots of spices, Worcestershire sauce and mixed with beef mince!! 😁
It makes good curries, too.
If you get near equal amounts of vitamin A and D you can't get toxic with either. But if you take these 2 you should be taking K2 as well as it is the activator for several A and D functions. Always take A,D and K2 with some kind of fat to improve absorption.
Eric Warmath and whats rich in k2 despite cheese?
@@repperfreak6373 egg yolks, emu oil, natto, kimchee, other fermented foods
Repper Freak :
From highest to lowest :
Natto, goose liver *, eggyokes.
* not all goose liver is the unethical foie gras
I love all of these. Although here in UK, not seen liverwurst. There is always pate though.
Thank you Dr B. Any of that I can do except Liver , just can't keep it down. Believe me mama tried, lol
Mind is blown, thank you.
Just ate pork liver for our Dinner and scrambled egg this morning. Thanks Dr. Berry
Cod liver oil, oh my goodness 😬 when I was a child my mother would give me and my brothers 1 full soup spoon full of it, followed by a spoon of sugar. I wonder if it did us any good considering all the sugar that went on afterwards...
Fernanda Nascimento orchids & succulents yes we never forgot the tastes did we ,
It increases your intelligence.
1. Liver. I eat cod liver, calf liver and liverwurst. I ate liver every morning when I was pregnant.
2. Egg yolk - yes, I do eat several eggs per week.
3. Butter, I use Kerrygold from Ireland, grass fed
4. Fatty fish. Cod liver, sardines. I mix my Cod liver like a tuna salad, add boiled eggs and Mayo .
5. Liverwurst - I get it in the deli section, love it.
I love everyone of those foods and eat them often. I did not think of Liverwurst. I like it, too. I should be good on Vit A.
Thank you very much I am way low in Vitamin A. I love eggs definitely going to eat more now , up my fish quota each week and look for cod liver oil for starters.
🙏👏great advice on VA thanks 🙏 ❤
Liver...When I fixed it for dinner, it touched my salad, and now I like it with French dressing, but doesn't it raise cholesterol? Egg yolks are good with sprouted bread toast, slathered with butter. I love everything from the ocean. When I have get togethers, and I make a braunschweiger ball, ice it with whipped cream cheese, and cover it with sliced green olives with pimento. MEN LOVE IT! Thanks so much for the vitamin A tip. I was always afraid I might overdose. My doctor thinks I read too much. LOL
Love them all!!
I love liver, with or without onions. My husband hates it, but loves liverwurst. LOL. I also love pastured eggs, Kerrygold butter, and fatty fish.
So are deviled eggs good for you. I just had 6 lol. Love them.
Eggs, yum. Butter yum. I'm too old to grow up and eat liver😁🤣😁
My skin in so much smoother since I started eating two organic eggs fried in ghee for breakfast, lunch or dinner. That's my favorite source for Vitamin A and lots of other goodies.
Love each of these items woo-hoo🙏🏿👍🏿
I love cod liver oil. When I was 4 years old and they started giving us capsules I'd chew them up and thought it was so strange that people didn't want to taste the cod liver oil.🐟🐟🐟🐟
I like all of them, especially the liver and fish. Are the fish that are good for Vitamin E also good for Vitamin A? I had been thinking about getting some liverwurst because it would be easier than having to cook liver.
You are the best!!
Liver cheese back in my diet....no problem, loved the stuff since I was a kid! Hey, what about liver pate/ foie gras....same thing, right??
Dr. Berry, would you recommend a particular brand of cod liver oil supplement?
I had all five, but my three favorites are fish, butter, and eggs. Had liver a few times, but need to get used to it.
Great info. My hardest one would be #5.
I can't do the liver at all!!!! The smell of it cooking makes me sick. I can definitely do eggs and butter!!👍
Nice!!
I am very fond of liverwurst. I tasted it a few times before enjoying it but it may be my favorite fast snack
Can you take cod liver oil instead of eating liver.
Thanks for answering.
Love my eggs and butter and salmon.
Can’t find liverwurst, I loved it as a child.
I’ll keep looking.
I love all these foods, & make it a point to eat a pound of liver per week. I'm s/p lap chole so I do worry a bit about my ability to absorb fat soluble vitamins.
I make a braunshweger ball, by adding a few drops or worstershire sauce, and small, very finely chopped chopped onions. I frost it with cream cheese and a little milk. Add some pretty slices of green olives with pimentoes, and get a good quality cracker. yum...men, love it, and it is always a hit at parties. I think because it is SO GOOD with a cold beer, and it can be made in a very short time, once you get the ingredients in it to soften it. When I am making certain dishes, like meatballs. Or cabbage rolls, I always put the meat in the microwave for just a few seconds to heat it, so it is easier to blend in other ingredients.
I do not think I have ever had cod liver oil. I am going to have to see if I can find it. I eat everything else you mentioned regularly.
great video
Thank you ❤
Is it true that a good prenatal vitamin can actually help with arthritis?
What a coincidence! I had noticed the last couple of days that my eyesight is NOT what it used to be. And I always had good eyes. Just with getting older and having to do a LOT of reding in my job I needed reading glasses.
But I really noticed on the road and doing my hob y, that’I had problems focusing.
And lo and behold! Since a month or so I started eating lots of salads and not much else. It’s summer, I love salads , they’re quick and easy and I don’t fell like cooking for only lil ole me. Bit lazy....😉
My, my.... I know I have to take supplements ever since my gastric bypass because I’m never hungry, I have to MAKE myself eat or I would just drink coffee and be happy. So now I will have to add some stuff to my salads: more eggs and lots of liver I guess. I lOVE chicken liver and canned cod liver!❤❤❤
I even make my own chicken liver pâté. If I feel like it. 😋😋😋😋😋😋 And so far chicken liver and chicken hearts ❤❤❤ are still very cheap!!!!!🤑
So true on his statements cuz I experienced ailments by trying to eat only on veggies. Never again.
Excellent.
Love liverwurst eggs fish. Is Irish butter ghee? Dad used to give our dogs liverwurst. I once rescued an emaciated puppy and I used to feed her chicken livers and rice, that's what the vet said to give her.
Thank you for the great info. Question though, wouldn’t liver spike your uric acid especially if you have gout or have gout before? Thank you and appreciate any feedback.
Hi CD R, I think so but the pros will definitely outweigh the cons in a long-run.
I love eggs, grass-fed ghee, & fatty fish 💖 Eat them most days of the week!
Thank you👍
Well, my mom fed me liver and onions when I was a kid - THEN I finally realized what it was! Same with blood sausage!
I'll stick to eggs and butter, thank you very much!
Thank you. 👍🏾
Great information, God bless you for your research and sharing!
It sounds like I'm getting plenty without having to resort to liver. Thank God!
Love almost all and make a mean keto chicken liver pate. Never tried cod liver and will make a point to seek it out, love cod cheeks and tongue, yum.
