One of the biggest problems seen in chronically sick people with a gluten sensitivity is a lack of Vitamin B12. This is in part due to the area of the small intestines and stomach that gluten can damage. Both areas are critical for vitamin B12 absorption. In that regard, if you are gluten sensitive, it is important to work with your doctor so that you can be properly evaluated for vitamin B12 deficiency. Nutritional testing and evaluation is extremely important and should be a primary focus with any doctor you choose to work with. In this episode of PDOB, Dr. Osborne breaks down everything you need to know about vitamin B12.
    00:00 - intro and overview
    01:00 - symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency
    05:30 - B12 and depression
09:15 - joint and muscle pain
15:00 - effect of B12 on olfactory function
    16:00 - how B12 is absorbed
    21:00 - causes of B12 deficiency
27:00 - gluten and grain free foods rich in Vitamin B12
    29:30 - lab testing for vitamin B12
41:30 - loss of taste and smell and "TDTSNBN"
    46:30 - Q&A

Thank you for answering my question on b12 defiency and sleep apnea. I will take the hydroxy form as I get super jittery with methylcobalamin so thanks for also speaking about the different types. This crash course for B12 is very much needed, and I pray that all who have been suffering with this serious defiency can now feel more informed and empowered to finally bring their levels to normal. Thanks again.....God bless.........Just thought I would add when before I came to my chromebook i was going to research b12 for the different symptoms I have been having and after 5 minutes I saw this streaming....I believe I was shown this by Our Heavenly Father as I have been praying for an answer to my issues.. Praise the LORD..........

@@ttg889 Hello as far as I remember I changed my brand to Global health and also they said it was organic, it is not fully the hydroxy form, but I did feel better using they brand. After some time I changed back to methylcobalamin has on Amazon the price at that time went up to such a high price, for the organic Global Health B12 . Now I take methylcobalamin, but I do not take it every day, I take it 2-3 times a week and I do not experience the jittery feeling I used to get. also has for my sleep apnea that has gone now. But it did not go through taking B12. i believe Jesus Chist healed me. Dr. Osborne - What is your take on supplementing B12 with intrinsic factor if autoimmune atrophic gastritis is present? Thanks for pointing out that gluten can cause damage to the intrinsic factor producing parietal cells in the stomach. And also THANK YOU for pointing out the important fact that many doctors assume a wrong diagnosis and put their patients on PPIs when their patients already have low stomach acid. Secretion of intrinsic factor is independent of acid secretion and is unaffected by PPIs however if there are damaged parietal cells it stands to reason there is low intrinsic factor and low stomach acid.

I went to the Emergency room last November because I had a Spinal Laminectomy done July 14th of last year and I thought my balance issues were because of nerves being pinched in L4 and L5 but in November I had gotten worse with my walking, cognition issues, fatigue and balance issues so I went to the Emergency room and she did a CT scan and sent me to another hospital where I saw the Nuerologist on call, needless to say that after a Spinal Tap they say that I have Multiple Sclerosis but I remember my grandmother always taking B12 shots, I don't know but I have been researching so much since the diagnosis and I just had my B12 and Vitamin D labs done but not sure of the tests if they would help from my understanding so I take Vitamin D3 10,000 IU with K2 and just started taking B12 Methocabalmine Sublingual 5,000 mcg and also don't eat dairy products, meat and do gluten free plus green smoothies.

Within two weeks of starting my new protocol of vitamins, and another serving of meat daily, my feet and legs totally stopped hurting.

The only caution to take is that vitamin b twelve can cause your body to absorb iron more easily. I drove my hemoglobin's up to the roof because of that. And that was without taking iron supplements that's just food intake.

It you have a b12 deficiency or intrinsic factor then you need b12 injection the intrinsic factor issues test is 40-60 prof so a negative cannot rule out PA and it’s life long injections
The test for a b12 deficiency is
      MMA
      Homocysteine
      Folate
      Active b12
Or go to a beauty clinic and pay for your first injections and self inject need folic and and multi b and magnesium as cofactors
Folic acid heals at cell level with b12 injection
B12 supplements should not be taken unless you are vegan as they will flaw all result and you will not get a diagnosis

Chinese and Vietnamese monks are vegetarians, but not vegan. There is a big difference. Albert Einstein said being vegetarian was a good idea, but he wasn’t one. Vegetarians can live a long time on a vegetarian diet, even though they may not be in the best of health. Whereas, vegans get sick very quickly. You were never vegan, so you are no expert on it. B12 pills weren’t invented until about 60 years ago, so nobody could be vegan before that.
