    WHAT IS A HIATAL HERNIA?
It is a condition in which the stomach bulges up through the diaphragm and into the chest. The diaphragm is a muscle located between your chest and abdomen that helps you breathe. Try to release the tightness surrounding muscles and tissues and strengthen the core safely with this Bulge on Upper Abdomen? Fix Hiatal Hernia Gentle Easy Mat Yoga Pilates Workout at Home Normally, the esophagus (the tube that carries food from your mouth to your stomach) goes through an opening in the diaphragm. If you have a hiatal hernia, part of your stomach may protrude up through this opening.
This can cause several problems, such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, chest pain, and even asthma. In some cases, it can also lead to serious health complications
You develop a hiatal hernia when a portion of your stomach forces out through your diaphragm. The diaphragm is between your chest and abdomen, and it is a large muscle that helps you breathe. The stomach is normally right below the diaphragm, but some part of it can push up through the diaphragm in people with hiatal hernia. You do not usually require any treatment for a hiatal hernia, but you may consider taking some drugs if you have some discomfort, and surgery is only necessary in rare cases. A better option is to practice hiatal hernia exercises which can help treat your condition and alleviate discomfort.
Exercises That Help Treat Hiatal Hernia
You can actually try a number of exercises to manage your condition, but you should talk to your doctor if you experience any pain or discomfort after trying a specific hiatal hernia exercise. Here are some effective exercises to consider.
here are several ways to determine if you have a hiatal hernia. One of the most common methods is to take an X-ray, which should be able to clearly show if your stomach has moved up through your diaphragm. However, there are other symptoms that might indicate it as well!
    EXERCISES TO PREVENT HIATAL HERNIAS
Hernia-proofing your core muscles by strengthening them is key to preventing this type of hernia, even if it’s genetic. A strong ab musculature will protect against small tears in the diaphragm, which lead to large problems down the line!
Core stability exercises such as planks and side planks & bridges strengthen not only your abs but also all four sides of your torso. Flexibility training for these muscle groups improves functionality, including daily activities like walking upstairs or getting out of bed. Aerobic activity strengthens heart function, which pumps oxygenated blood around our body. When our body is functioning better, we feel better!

Annie thank you for your successful help to my painful hiatal hernia. I had been suffering for 5 days using other naturopathic healer’s remedies. Not until I found you under “how to heal a hiatal hernia” did I find you and your technique and my symptoms disappeared. No more swelling. No more pain. The bulging hernia disappeared after the first pose. I am amazed and grateful. I do pray for your prosperity and good health so you can continue to serve all of God’s people. I praise Him for leading me to you.

Root cause is usually your back (poor posture has a big role in Hiatal hernia) if you notice daily that your sleeping position as well sitting position isn't right = you have a first answer + Pretty weak diaphragm can cause that. Usually these are the main two reasons. Personally for me it's my back = working with chiropractor helps a lot.
You need to train your back and diaphragm. and do daily 2x times these whole diaphragm exercises + back exercises + let chiropractor do manipulations (it's slow process because "muscles" "tissues") and try to understand when Your hiatal hernia poops double up... And avoid that.
Stress, Siting position, sleeping position etc.

I have just been diagnosed with a hiatal hernia. I'm lucky in that I have always remained slim into my 64th year. However, my stomach area, above waist, is always swollen due to the hernia. I used to do yoga regularly.. Bikram. I was trying to do some yoga poses at home the other day and I got a cramp in that area above waist. I'm guessing this must be to do with the hernia as I have never had cramp there before. It was awful and took a while for me to massage it out. Is this because those muscles are weakened? It's hard to know what to do for the best. I'm always so bloated and swollen above my waist.

I have costochondritis and hiatal hernia for around 6 years. Tried all sorts of meds, nothing seemee to help with the excruciating pain in my chest.
Ive just start yoga classes on prescription from my GP. Its really helped far more than big pharma has.
Today ive come and tried these excerices. Absolutely amazing! Thank you so very much for this excellent video. I will continue doing them as ive found them very beneficial from the very first session
Many many thanks for an informative and well presented, well communicated video ❤

Thank you. I really felt a difference with this exercise. Unfortunately I had to do it standing up, because laying flat scares me now a days. Will continue to exercise my diaphragm.

9:18 am Alberta, Canada. Hi Annie. I’ve been struggling with hiatal hernia most of my life (I’m almost 60). When I do the first exercise of gently pulling on ribs while breathing in and out, I can feel a bulge moving under my right ribs. I can feel it internally as well as with my fingers. It doesn’t really hurt, just a little uncomfortable. Is this normal?

I do not mean to be rude, but I wonder if you could have someone read over the written comments and make any corrections to make it easier to read? Thanks so much!
