Right now you can play DCS with planes from WW2, the cold war period and beyond. Many servers won't go beyond the cold war and that's because modern planes rely too much on technology. You barely even see the enemy planes and you just have to shoot missiles and launch countermeasures. For many people it's not engaging gameplay and they rather play cold war vehicles that didn't have this kind of technology. Some science fiction books talk about ships shooting at each other from one side of the solar system to the other. They see a "blimp" in a high tech radar and shoot. Very interesting and it will probably be exactly like that in the future, but it won't be good in terms of gameplay.
I agree that ai blades won't be released with the Perseus since they're not getting released with Polaris either and both have fully automated CIWS. I do hope they let us swap the ballistic gatlings for energy repeaters so they won't run out of ammo.
Even ballistic cannons would be amazing! Imagine slapping light fighters with a salvo of C-1088 rounds at 5 kilometers (that is if they either buff the ammo speed or greatly increase it's damage. Why does the C-788 only do 325 damage with a fire rate of 50rpm traveling at 900m/s!! Either make the rounds travel at 2000m/s or increase the damage to 925)
i would say remote turrets at diffrent points in the ship but manned turrets have always seemed stupid to me from a technology standpoint. it makes your guns bigger targets and the crew should be safe inside the ship but not all in one spot. if they are in the bridge a torpedo to the bridge wipes out the whole crew
They could actually do the "customized ammo types" on the turrets. All they would need to do is modify the MOM UI to work on Guns as well. where you 'select' which missile to fire, you'd instead 'select' which ammo to fire from the gun.

i don’t really mind what size weapons it has now, as none of it really matters until they do a final ship component/weapon balance pass just before 1.0
I don’t know why I like this concept so much. Hopefully they’ll “make it work”. Personally I’d make it into an absolute tank so it could last a long time in battle and wear down opponents. I hope they’ll change the drop down cargo. I would prefer a pair of snub bays kind of like the one we see in the Conny line. I guess we will see. I have one in waiting.
It’s point defense will be buffed in response to the Polaris up gunning. Because it has an automated point defense , doesn’t it mean it’s already bladed?
keep in mind, all weapons will be changed. even if on paper, some weapons have the same dps, each weapon type will have different impact types tagged on. a example would be a cannon would go through heavy armor, where as a gatling gun might just scrape the paint. this will make fighter spam against a capital ship nearly useless, unless you have some heavy hitting boom booms. CGI recently explained that capital ships will have very powerful shields, likely shields that constantly regenerate total shield hp/s, distributed out of these emitters evenly. so the more emitters you take out, the stronger the shields get on the surviving emitters. there even might be a penatration value on these shields where even size 7 repeaters will not be able to damage a shield emitter, but cannons might be able too of the same size. as for ship damage, they are already stating that there wont be a time to kill, just a time to disable on all ships, meaning your likely able to get a magic shot to disable a ship with a idris railgun, or youll just put a new window into the ship, but miss anything vital to disabling the ship itself. this ship might be one of the toughest sub capital ships, requiring size 5 cannons to penatrate its armor, but you could likely take out its engines with size 4 gatling guns, or even some well placed size 3's if you aim down the exhaust. this being said, fighters will likely keep flying with a ton of bullet holes, unless you hit some vital components. just saying, we are playing a game with health bars, when the future game will likely not have those.
Big guns should be size 8 perhaps? or needs more or larger smaller turrets and it must have anti torp turrets? The inside needs a revamp, clearly not good use of space with only 50 cargo space. No med bay or snub hanger. The ship isn't designed to go down to planets, so no need to carry vehicles, instead have a snub bay that links to cargo space
There may be a miscommunication--i thought blades as a minimum req to call it 1.0 means before 1.0 the blades would / may already be in the game, and until they *and all the otherchecklist items* are worked out it cannot be called 1.0; not that these items will not be seen in live until the version being called 1.0 is released to live...(which labeling seems like it is only being done as a way to avoid lawsuits about not ever producing something that the company labels as a finished product for sc... but thats another convo)
Better off using an 890J as a daily driver. At least you have PDC's to protect your ship, can carry a small ship or more, and can carry an assortment of vehicles. Same as a polaris.
@@michaelmichaelagnew8503 pretty sure Perseus has point defence as well. Two of them. Apparently they can be manned but if they aren’t they’ll function as pdcs.
If they have working point defense for 890, Polaris and Phoenix, they can have "blades" working in a primitive form on the Perseus for testing where it's automated like a point defense but the automation deactivates when a player gets in the chair for it within the ship. Even if it doesn't have a physical blade module working within the ship. Also as long as they have blades in general working for other ships by 1.0 it makes up for not having crew. Really most of the Q&A stuff are things intended for 1.0 not for when the ship is flyable. Now obviously some things are going to miss the 1.0 release like crew but blades are super easy to implement when they have to do it for hostile NPC ship turrets any way.
Why would the automatition stop working if they get in the chair? The blades will already be allot worse than having a normal person using it. I mean your defeating the purpose of blades to begin with.
the Bespoke cannon is more for the shield penetration and critical system damage. remember the Gatling will have an high DPS, but the cannon will have a much higher alpha strike, this means the cannon will have an higher penetration than the Gatling. the S7 Gatling will have the equivalent penetration as an S5 cannon. so the Polaris S6 bespoke cannons will have better penetration than the S7 Gatling.
IMO the cannons on the Perseus will be as effective as the cannons on the Javelin in the SQ 42 game play at Citcon . They are both the same size ... The only difference is, the Perseus has ballistic cannons.
Personally, I'd love for CIG to release a modification package for the Perseus that replaces the ballistic weapons with energy weapons, replacing the components & adding components as needed in the places of the places containing the shells for the weapons. Something along the lines of the K package for the Idris.
btw not everything that's in the 1.0 section on the roadmap will only come out in 1.0 they mentioned as things get finished they'll move stuff from 1.0 to a point patch for 4.0 so engineering, blades and all that could be in a point patch which i suspect blades will be because the PD tech might help because their similar to the blade tech i would assume.
The Ballstic gatling turrets that can be automated or remotely controlled are the Point Defense guns, NOT the main guns. And we have (kinda😂)funtional PDC's in game right now, so blade tech may not be as far off as you think.
Remember if you steal an ai HH you got a crew that can fire. (they nerfed/fixed this already.) Meaning having blades isn't super far away, at least from a technical points. My curiousity is the cost to power both turrets and have shields and have a two blades, idk its just my guessing. Also Ai blade tech might be real nice before the sale of the large ships that year and then be "adjusted," too my more harsh estimate.
They didn't say that AI blades would releases with 1.0, just that they would be part of the 1.0 release. It's just like how Pyro and the other 3 systems will be a part of it too, but it's not all going to release at once with 1.0.
Good video that sets out some realistic expectations about how stuff listed won't (all) be there when the ship releases. A few extra things you made me think of: - Point Defence System + remote control. Unlikely on release because so far there haven't been any turrets that are auto (PDS) & remote controlable. Probably code gremlins in there. - Ammo customisation. Unlikely on release because it's not ingame or even talked about. Probably the code\gameplay hasn't even been imagined yet. - Armor. Unlikely on release because just look at its history. CIG loves to give components low HP even on bullet sponge ships. Expect fighter ballistics powerplant sniping.
1 month later from your comment, we now have working PDS on the Polaris, Idris, and Connie Phoenix, and they work very well against torpedoes and are a nightmare for light fighters.
@@Hylanvahr Yes I'm surprised to be wrong on both points that they've been added and that they work so well. I guess we can only wait for the Perseus release to see if its bigger version of these PDS are effective.
I do hope they add the choice of energy weapons or get an absolutely crazy amount of ammo cause with how long an army of players has to shoot at an Idris rn, ballistics are simply just bad as anti cap weapons Edit: ok I reaching the 20 minute mark and gotta say I can absolutely see the blades coming. Pdc are working both against rockets AND against ships, so I don’t see this not happening
I do not believe the front will become more detailed like the polaris, CIG has stated that the only reason why they made the polaris hull more detailed was to showcase its massive scale even when seen fully, as that was noy the case with the concept, the perseus however isnt as large with only 100m, so i dont believe they weill change it (plus when looking at the outline in the "next 12 months", it did not seem more detailed)
This is one of those ships that look promising but the fact that the weapons are bespoke made me buy a Perseus to Odyssey CCU just in case. The Odyssey once it comes out seems allot more usefull unless you plan to spend you whole time in game in fleet battles constantly buying ammo every chance you need to.
I hate the idea of bespoke weapons. It reeks of hero shooter "balance". Modularity and customization is part of what makes the game fun. There should be adapters that let you customize any ship. I could see maybe some rework time being require to refit a ship, but there's no reason it should be locked permanently to a given weapon. They give the example of main battle tanks, but you can get options for tanks and you can refit the tanks with different weapons. For example the M1 Abrams doesn't use a bespoke gun, it uses a Rheinmetall Rh-120 L/44 and you could absolutely upgrade it to an L/55 for instance with a trip to a maintenance depot like has been done with Leopard 2s which use the same gun (for instance the Chilean military bought old Leopard 2A4s and has upgraded them with the L/55.
I think that you got it wrong, in terms of which Turret´s they speak about in regards to "blades" - the big main guns are not the ones, which you can slave to ai, or remote controll from the bridge. They mean the secondaries.
i really hope that ship will perform better than than i anticipate but i have this inner Nostradamus insight telling me it will be underwhelming! it wont be nearly as useless as the nautilus. i think its to niche i think it needs some small guns added for fighter class because its a large hunter so it cant kill small or cap so it only fills that mid road
Chris Roberts obsession with manned turrets is a massive problem with this game. we don't want it. we're always going to struggle to get enough players to man them. the reason i melted the hammerhead is the fact you're never going to have 6 players who are willing to sit in a turret for hours whilst you progress with missions and stuff. it's just ridiculous. make them automatic ffs.
These types of ships are meant to be used by larger groups and orgs. Not a random guy asking people in game chat if they want to man their turrets lol. And the hammerhead specifically is a fleet ship made to support and defend capital class ships from small fighters, not to do petty bounty missions with.
1) What kind of idiot pays $700 for a ship he knows he can't man? 2) AI blades and NPC gunners are both intended features, to soften the requirements for players. 3) Eliminating manned turrets turns all combat ships into one-man shows, crushing a core element of multi-crew gameplay and making the game much more pay-to-win.
@@zombieheadshot4737Be that as it may. The amount of people who are going to be org players will be a small fraction of the amount of total players. If most larger ships aren’t available to most players, the player base will quickly erode. Solo players imagining they can captain large ships is primarily what’s funded the development.
Nah, we can get people to man turrets just fine if the turrets are effective. I just wish he’d lean more towards making them remote. Have everyone together on the bridge.
Debating if i should get it this IAE or not, its in a pretty wierd position, we don't really have that many sub capitals that are dangerous except the HH, all other subcapitals can be easily beaten by fighters, also it can't fight capital ships despite in the lore it 1v2 vanduul capital ships so not really sure yet
I don’t know… seems really clear to me that a solo pilot can Fly” it, but if you want to “Fight” it you will want at least a crew of three. It’s not a “big fighter”
For the Gatling gun's, we don't really need AI blades. Their purpose is anti-missle and torp. So basically a more powerful version of PD, which is already in the game. Granted it currently doesn't work very well yet, but the tech is already there.
I'm much more expecting two-four PDS with the automatic/remote size 3 gun idea getting scrapped. As for changeable ammo types on the S7s? No idea. It'd require armor actually working to begin with.
Anyone who doesn’t have the common sense to realize some features of ships like AI blades won’t be in immediately should not back a game that is still halfway through development. If you buy an off-road vehicle but it currently has street tires on, do you really expect it to perform well off-road? If you need that level of hand holding, don’t buy or play any games until full release.
I dont usually comment on posts, I just had to stop the video briefly when you were comparing the Inferno size 7 to the Perseus size 7 weapons. Of course, we can only compare with what we have readily availiable to us. It could well be that with the Perseus comes a new size 7 weapon variant limited only to the ship itself (Hence the wording "Bespoke"). I cant see them being the same as the Inferno. I personally think it would be wrong to have size 7 gattlings on this ship. I see this ship more as a modern day naval destroyer, imagine swapping those huge cannons with some sort of gattling. I imagine you wouldnt get the same effect. Also, regarding the AI Blades, I did also wonder if the blades would release in game along with the ship, Until i saw a video of the PDS on the 890 Jump obliterating every Polaris torpedo salvo fired at it. I can only assume it would be something similar to that, or atleast until the release of AI Blades.
Needs to be bigger with more defensive turrets. The 600i has more volume than this ship. It also is a military ship and should have a medical bay. Doesn't make sense if they leave it the way it is.
These ships have two different roles. The Perseus is better at destroying ships at distance than the Polaris excluding air assets. The crew requirements of the Polaris are much larger . Operating a Polaris will be much more expensive. I’ll take the Perseus over the Polaris. I expect the Perseus to get up gunned on fighter defense turrets.
I might be huffing hopium here, but we don't know ai blades won't be out when this ship releases. For all we "know" ai blades could be on the docket for next year and be released to live along side the perseus. Pretty Longshot I know. But I can dream.
@marcuswynn89 you can steal a hammerhead for years, and the npc have acted as equivalent as blades. Will not be that hard to implement sense you already have a version working on the polaris.
I like the Idea for the ship to be automated as much as possible, so i dont have to be bound to my lazy ass buddies or my giant org. Plz make the remote turrets automated as stated from the time the ship releases.
Then just use a single seater fighter. The thing is, these large ships are meant to be used by large groups and orgs, if the turrets were automated, then you would just see random people using these ships 24/7.
Yeah, since they set their line in the sand so to speak when they upgunned the polaris to "sort of hold it's own against capital ships" without the use of it's torps, I wouldnt be surprised if the size 7's get a bump down to size 6's since the perseus isnt meant to go after capital ships.
The concept for the Polaris originally had size 5 guns in the chin turret; and, the other turrets only had fewer, smaller guns as well. If anything, I think that we'll see the Perseus get up-gunned with point defense turrets.
I just love the Perseus! I have Polaris/Perseus/Idris! Those are my fav! I want a Jav too! But I cant shake the feeling that they might nerf down guns to size 6 like they did with redeemer.. Im worried.
PDT are already in game. The connie had one added and the Polaris has them. They are OK So the Perseus will have them out of the box. The real issue is the PDT coverage sucks
"Still believing that CIG hold themselves accountable to anything they've said in the past is... naïve at best." Because they didn't recently recommit to a publicly stated feature on the Galaxy, or anything. 🙄 But that said, there's a LOT of stupid claims on the Internet about "CIG PROMISED!!1!" They promise nearly nothing. All their sales make it perfectly clear that this game is in development and all features are subject to change.
A space ship's mass should have nothing to do with its top speed. Maneuvering and acceleration should be impacted but not top speed. It is obvious the game is being developed by art majors.
I'm also anti manned turret. It's such a dumb idea for a game set nearly 1,000 years in the future, and it's disappointing that CIG is ALL IN on them. Blades will be in 1.0 as part of the metric, but that does not mean that they aren't coming until 1.0. they likely will be in by the release of the Perseus.
We also need to remember that Engineering isn’t quite in. So, the Aries might become more impactful later on. It did mention that it’ll be an effective ship if it’s hitting the components.
Accurate information, sure always a good idea and remote controlled turrets also good. Capitol ships manned by 1 player and npc or ai incredibly stupid idea. I get those with the idea of wanting to solo large ships, I do, but only an idiot would implement this. If that needs to be explained, you lack an honest desire for a good game or are simply not worth talking to. To the rest, such as customizing ships I agree this should be an option. But there should never be AI controlling multicrew ships for a single player.
The Perseus came from a time before the UEE had ship shielding tech, so armor was all it had requiring big engines to move the weight quickly. Because the Vanduul like to saw ships in half the new fleet doctrine is smaller crews in agile ships with 1-2 capital weapons like the WW2 Sherman tank doctrine. Fast and cheaper and quick to make to overwhelm with numbers of units vs larger crews in advanced multi-weapon platforms like the Idris and Javelin that can be taken out with high casualties if sliced apart. The new Polaris and refreshed Perseus are the first newer ships with that new doctrine in mind for RSI. The premise of the Perseus is it keeps its large engines but having shields now lets it shed some armor weight to make it fast for its size class. RSI ships are designed for frontal hit and run and flank to side combat in the forward arc with thinner front/side profiles where possible. These will pair nicely with a Hammerhead for fighter cover. I assume as it goes through the pipeline, they will show off an updated concept like the Polaris. After getting my Polaris, I trust the Perseus will be solid. There is one item that is certain to change from the past Perseus Q&A and may help alleviate the PvE solo issue sooner. The new PDCs the Polaris and other ships are getting on PTU will likely take the place of the Perseus gatling point defenses and is laser based to eliminate the ammo concern. The PDCs were just updated and attack ships as well as missiles now. Someone soloed Pirate Swarm in a Polaris but took a while to kill them. They mentioned when they showed PDCs off on the Bengal for ILW the first time they said it was a test bed for blades. The convo around blades always mentioned diminishing returns or lack of CPU on ships to drive all things at the same time. Without NPCs until post SC1.0 ships getting a combo of PDCs and the ability to bade automate 1-2 manned turrets could potentially be a workable compromise until NPC crews are a thing.
I only wish they'll put another automated turret on the front end of the ship. The top one is far too back to engage most things coming straight on and the rear one covers less than 180 degree in the back. There are too many blind spots on this warship. I like it but it's defenseless without cover from other ships.
CIG would do the exact opposite. They will promise you the world with this ship cause they know their rear end is riding on it should IAE this year dont meet their expected sales. This would be extremely op when it gets released, then 1 year later, the 4x s7s will be nerfed to 4x s6 and 1 large shield removed to make way for the next great gunship. Cause it worked before and it'll work again.
They need to get rid of this nonsense of hard locking ship components. This ships main feature, the cannons in this instance cant be swapped. Make it like eve, have basic hull capacities, sub slot mods that can modified that and your choice on guns/components. If I want to run laser I can, if I want kinetic then I can run ballistics or rail.

this ship might be one of the toughest sub capital ships, requiring size 5 cannons to penatrate its armor, but you could likely take out its engines with size 4 gatling guns, or even some well placed size 3's if you aim down the exhaust. this being said, fighters will likely keep flying with a ton of bullet holes, unless you hit some vital components.
just saying, we are playing a game with health bars, when the future game will likely not have those.
I'm considering upgrading my corsair to this, and use it as my daily driver.
You probably won’t be able to shoot the cannons
@marcuswynn89 hell Naww I'll use this for box missions 😉
@clickbaker1 lmao 🤣
@michaelmichaelagnew8503 because there would be a person in the seat to man the gun.
The ai blades thing is a moot point since the pd turrets are working on the Polaris. They just don't currently require the blade
AI blades are for maned turrets as a replacement for using a person or npc.
@michaelmichaelagnew8503 the point is this comment was that pd turret s work. So it's not to insane of a jump to get ai blades working....
They were revering to PDCs there and they are already automated currently PTU.
the Bespoke cannon is more for the shield penetration and critical system damage.
remember the Gatling will have an high DPS, but the cannon will have a much higher alpha strike, this means the cannon will have an higher penetration than the Gatling.
the S7 Gatling will have the equivalent penetration as an S5 cannon.
so the Polaris S6 bespoke cannons will have better penetration than the S7 Gatling.
IMO the cannons on the Perseus will be as effective as the cannons on the Javelin in the SQ 42 game play at Citcon .
They are both the same size ... The only difference is, the Perseus has ballistic cannons.
isn't the cannon on the jav also ballistic?
@@kawaii_milkshake2160 yes it is
I thought the Javelin side turrets were size 8, making them a size up from the Perseus

Flagship for IAE will be Pioneer!
@@trench4nt428 that would also be assuming base building is in. Not as confident in that lol
The Perceus will be available for sale, but they have not even started White Box on it yet.
@@xen1313 comment was obviously a hypothetical.
I think with ai blades being unlikely they will probably just apply the PDC logic to the s3 turrets as a temporary change or permanent
Personally, I'd love for CIG to release a modification package for the Perseus that replaces the ballistic weapons with energy weapons, replacing the components & adding components as needed in the places of the places containing the shells for the weapons. Something along the lines of the K package for the Idris.
Ammo types were in the roadmap before
I wouldn't mind them being ballistics, so long as we can grab ammo boxes from cargo and do manual reloads
btw not everything that's in the 1.0 section on the roadmap will only come out in 1.0 they mentioned as things get finished they'll move stuff from 1.0 to a point patch for 4.0
so engineering, blades and all that could be in a point patch which i suspect blades will be because the PD tech might help because their similar to the blade tech i would assume.
They "say" a lot of things, even more when they get backlash.
1.0 will be the minimum they need to be legally clear, then they'll cut and run.
Just got one. Cant wait
The Pods on the side kind of look like Drone Launch bays. So, I wonder if they will carry 2-4 combat drones to assist in fleet defense.
They currently have no function
@marcuswynn89 Oh, I know. I was just speculating as to what they might do.
They didn't say that AI blades would releases with 1.0, just that they would be part of the 1.0 release. It's just like how Pyro and the other 3 systems will be a part of it too, but it's not all going to release at once with 1.0.
the Perseus will have VTOL which in the future will be required to fly well in atmosphere without lift and control surfaces
Good video that sets out some realistic expectations about how stuff listed won't (all) be there when the ship releases. A few extra things you made me think of:
- Point Defence System + remote control.
I do hope they add the choice of energy weapons or get an absolutely crazy amount of ammo cause with how long an army of players has to shoot at an Idris rn, ballistics are simply just bad as anti cap weapons
Edit: ok I reaching the 20 minute mark and gotta say I can absolutely see the blades coming. Pdc are working both against rockets AND against ships, so I don’t see this not happening
Get rid of bottom turret and just give it a bigger turret up front like size 9 or something. Make it have some punch.
There are no "promises." Everything is subject to change. You are required to acknowledge you know this every single time you pledge for a ship.
With the Polaris changes they should up gun it to size 8 guns.
The probably won’t do that
I think that you got it wrong, in terms of which Turret´s they speak about in regards to "blades" - the big main guns are not the ones, which you can slave to ai, or remote controll from the bridge. They mean the secondaries.
You could be right about that
i really hope that ship will perform better than than i anticipate but i have this inner Nostradamus insight telling me it will be underwhelming! it wont be nearly as useless as the nautilus. i think its to niche i think it needs some small guns added for fighter class because its a large hunter so it cant kill small or cap so it only fills that mid road
@@ozramblue117 so you'd sit in a turret for hours doing nothing? suit yourself. im not and neither are the majority of the players.
Debating if i should get it this IAE or not, its in a pretty wierd position, we don't really have that many sub capitals that are dangerous except the HH, all other subcapitals can be easily beaten by fighters, also it can't fight capital ships despite in the lore it 1v2 vanduul capital ships so not really sure yet
it needs a size increase of about 20 meters ant it'll be perfect
I don’t know… seems really clear to me that a solo pilot can Fly” it, but if you want to “Fight” it you will want at least a crew of three. It’s not a “big fighter”
they already have point defense and ai turreted ships so blades probably aren't that hard to implement.
This is CIG. Their motto is, "We reinvent the wheel"
bruh lmao
the perseus will get a dual S5 turret to bring it in line with all the other ships :>
idk i feel same thing like you said in the beginning its obvious they wont add a feature like AI crews etc to us a long time
Make it slightly bigger, add some space for a boarding crew. Add more automated AA turrets.
likely wont be a boarding type of ship that what the hammer head and legionnaire will be for
For the Gatling gun's, we don't really need AI blades. Their purpose is anti-missle and torp. So basically a more powerful version of PD, which is already in the game. Granted it currently doesn't work very well yet, but the tech is already there.
Pdc work way too well. Currently a idris is utterly immune to torps regardless of situation
Those gattlings are PDS similar to 890 and polaris
They are supposed to be size 3 guns, mounted in pairs in remote turrets above the bridge and between the rear engines.
I'm much more expecting two-four PDS with the automatic/remote size 3 gun idea getting scrapped. As for changeable ammo types on the S7s? No idea. It'd require armor actually working to begin with.
yeah probably not anytime soon on that one
This would be cool with the javelin turrets with the dual s4 guns along with the dual s7s
IAE 2955, RSI Perseus. With bespoke weapons that make it horrible and a bare bones interior, like the Polaris.
Do this with the drake kraken!
Release the Kraken!
Anyone who doesn’t have the common sense to realize some features of ships like AI blades won’t be in immediately should not back a game that is still halfway through development.
If you buy an off-road vehicle but it currently has street tires on, do you really expect it to perform well off-road?
If you need that level of hand holding, don’t buy or play any games until full release.
well brother common sense ain't so common
CIG stated that the damage will be similar to the damage of the ares, that’s why I did that
Needs to be bigger with more defensive turrets. The 600i has more volume than this ship. It also is a military ship and should have a medical bay. Doesn't make sense if they leave it the way it is.
due to it being a small large ship and the shard assets i think we will see the perseus bye ILW at lest
i cant smoke that amount of hopium, though in this case i would like to be wrong
"The docking port is either port or starboard, I forget which sides it's on"
Hint: it's in the name. :D
Docking port doesn’t literally mean it’s on the left side all ships that dock, have ports on both sides of the ship
Mind is the number of crew not enough crew really for it good to board and take.
Y’all don’t pay attention and it’s frustrating
Perseus, priced $100 less than the feature rich Polaris. Make it make sense.
They went ahead and fixed that for you
@@aguy446 LOL, they did indeed.
The blind spots makes it a liability rather than an asset and I avoid a financial liabilities😮
I might be huffing hopium here, but we don't know ai blades won't be out when this ship releases. For all we "know" ai blades could be on the docket for next year and be released to live along side the perseus. Pretty Longshot I know. But I can dream.
Oh god you've fallen into the pyroclastic hopium flow
i need your hopium dealer asap
@marcuswynn89 you can steal a hammerhead for years, and the npc have acted as equivalent as blades. Will not be that hard to implement sense you already have a version working on the polaris.
i think we will see it at invictus they said polaris and perseus share alot assets so we will see ^^
Lol remember when the Ions had size 7 weapons?
The PDC in the PTU right now is precursor to AI blades, they’re coming
still wont hold my breath
I like the Idea for the ship to be automated as much as possible, so i dont have to be bound to my lazy ass buddies or my giant org. Plz make the remote turrets automated as stated from the time the ship releases.
Don’t hold your breath on automation
Then just use a single seater fighter. The thing is, these large ships are meant to be used by large groups and orgs, if the turrets were automated, then you would just see random people using these ships 24/7.
@@zombieheadshot4737 but thats what they promised. Fuck single seaters...
If the Polaris have two s6 cannons on the nose, will the Perseus have it's four s7 reduced to s5 or s6? my gut is telling me Perseus nerf
Yeah, since they set their line in the sand so to speak when they upgunned the polaris to "sort of hold it's own against capital ships" without the use of it's torps, I wouldnt be surprised if the size 7's get a bump down to size 6's since the perseus isnt meant to go after capital ships.
The Polaris is a torpedo boat. Comparing it to a gunship is wrong out of the gate.
Im worried.
I doubt as it is already overly priced.
Doubtful. It's guns need to penetrate heavy armor. It Also has relatively small missiles so it relies on guns most.
So what? No one should be paying money for the best toy. There should be no best toy.
@dawnfire82 I agree but this is a purpose built ship.
@ the redeemer was also a gunboat literally..
My dream ship ❤
Mine too
PDT are already in game. The connie had one added and the Polaris has them. They are OK So the Perseus will have them out of the box. The real issue is the PDT coverage sucks
Some people say they're too good. It probably depends on server status, since they're AI-driven.
The bow is upside down
Still believing that CIG hold themselves accountable to anything they've said in the past is... naïve at best.
"Still believing that CIG hold themselves accountable to anything they've said in the past is... naïve at best." Because they didn't recently recommit to a publicly stated feature on the Galaxy, or anything. 🙄
But that said, there's a LOT of stupid claims on the Internet about "CIG PROMISED!!1!" They promise nearly nothing. All their sales make it perfectly clear that this game is in development and all features are subject to change.
No! A solo Perseus is a bad idea. Multi crew should be the way to play this game.
A space ship's mass should have nothing to do with its top speed. Maneuvering and acceleration should be impacted but not top speed. It is obvious the game is being developed by art majors.
Um yeah that’s physics
I'm also anti manned turret. It's such a dumb idea for a game set nearly 1,000 years in the future, and it's disappointing that CIG is ALL IN on them. Blades will be in 1.0 as part of the metric, but that does not mean that they aren't coming until 1.0. they likely will be in by the release of the Perseus.
Having a capital ship with 8 turrets that can be adequately controlled by one person is bad design.
We also need to remember that Engineering isn’t quite in. So, the Aries might become more impactful later on. It did mention that it’ll be an effective ship if it’s hitting the components.
Engineering isn’t coming any time soon
Maybe they'll give us some point defense turrets (as seen on the Polaris). One mounted on each engine pylon might give adequate coverage.
Oh, no! Please don't be honest... shit...
Hammerhead dose not suck, people suck at communicating
hammerhead can be kited at range by fighters and it would be able to close distance
Cause it worked before and it'll work again.
sssuuuuuurrrrrr
They need to get rid of this nonsense of hard locking ship components. This ships main feature, the cannons in this instance cant be swapped. Make it like eve, have basic hull capacities, sub slot mods that can modified that and your choice on guns/components. If I want to run laser I can, if I want kinetic then I can run ballistics or rail.
