WOW! That car is too new to have worn components. I don’t know the technical terms but the gas shocks are pressed into the ball of the truck. Pivot as you open and the angle changes. I would start with replacing the gas struts and if the problem still persists the actual mounts on the car where they mount. If you don’t mind me asking it’s a 2020, should be covered under warranty. Have them deal with it and pay for it. Side note: Never heard of the Kia Stinger (I just don’t follow new cars of any brand) until Covid. I guy bought a complete landscaping package from me. Mower, Blower and Weedwacker and he messaged me all day promising me I wouldn’t sell it on him. We meet up, I heard the car first, sounded and looked like a Maserati. He pulls up next to me and I’m like NO WAY. This guy isn’t fitting all this stuff in his Rati Coupe. We start to converse and in our convo he said he had a choice. Keep his landscaper and sell his dream car or fire his landscaper and keep his dream car. He was older than me. I’m thinking what kind of dream car a Rati Owner Have? I asked what is your dream car and he pointed at it and said THIS. I was shocked as sh*t, I said, ya know I know a few people who own Rati’s and they have terrible longevity. Your going to end up starting a small landscaping business to keep up with repairs and maintenance. He said this is TT Kia Stinger. I was SHOCKED! Black on Red and it was absolutely stunning! Glad you have a Kia, I want to get Chris the Telluride they really stepped up their game plus 100k warranty! Your ears are going to be ringing!
2 guess's. 1st : The ball mount stud or the mount on the shock is worn allowing the shock to rattle. 2nd: The shocks themselves could be low on gas charge thus not keeping them tight against the the mount studs allowing them to rattle.
@@craigtimmons3468 if its defective shocks then they failed pretty quickly... the car is just over a year old. The rattle started relatively soon after buying the car though I cant remember exactly when.
@@matthewolson8875 Not saying the shock/shocks are bad, they're charged with a pressurized gas that pushes the ends apart to help lift the lid, if one of the shocks was either not filled correctly or has leaked off then the pushing affect is compromised and could allow one of the shocks to rattle. To check take both shocks and grab each end and compress each noting the resistance, they should extend completely if not under pressure, if one has considerably less resistance then that one is defective. But it could also be several other issues. This is just what I have encountered in the past.
Wonder if where they clip on to the ball pivots is loose. Might take one of the shocks and shake it to see if it's something inside the shock. Interesting here. I would say I don't foresee something like those going bad that fast other then the crap quality of metal most car manufacturers are using now days.

The rattle was worse in the cold....hmm
@@matthewolson8875 Not saying but that makes me think its more likely the amount of gas in the shocks may be low. But just a guess. 🤔🤔
