The rattle was mostly gone. Turns out the bracket is only a part of the issue. I noticed the softer "clickier" rattle stopped, but there was a louder more blunt rattle. I took the console down again and noticed two plastic fasteners behind this (toward the rear liftgate). I'm not sure what they hold in place, but they snap into something in the metal plate just below the roofline. They're probably 3-4" back from the console, but you can feel them and kind of see them between the hole for the rear control and the rear pano sunroof when the top is open. I stuffed a furniture pad between each of the plastic fasteners and the roof and that finally did the trick. No more rattling, even on a drive from Texas to Colorado with more than a few bumps in the road.
I glued down the rear climate plastic ring and the like you the rattle was partly gone but i have a more high pitched tick or rattle sound that to me i swear sounds like its coming from the sunroof. I removed the rear climate again and have had it off for the last week and the rattle/tick is still there. Once i get home I will look for the two fasteners you mentioned.
So I couldn't wait till i got home i stuck my hand thru the climate control opening and i don't feel or see any fasteners behind there (towards liftgate). I wish i could post photos here but i cant.
Dude your awesome, i was about to tackle this rattle this evening and i said to myself… wonder if anyone has done this before and sure enough you did. As its been 3 weeks can you confirm the rattle is gone? I was thinking it would need felt to stop the vibration but i guess glueing it might do it.
Thank you! The rattle was driving me nuts!
This video helped me get KIA to fix mine. Thank you

I don't have the pano roof so that might be the reason i don't see any fasteners.
Can you show a video of you removing the control unit? I’m having difficulty with mine.

I was in the same place and I wasn't going to have the dealer mangle my roof or tell me they didn't hear it. See comment above
Nice video, I keep on looking for this. Anyway, does the rattle gone?
