  • This video shows the first time I use PanPastels on Pastelmat paper with an addition of color pencil for a portrait of a little girl. I talk about art supplies, small sets vs. full sets, and what I think is important to remember.
    Materials used:
    10 set of PanPastel
12 set of Polychromos color pencils by Faber Castell
+ 2 or 3 (?) additional colors from the 30 set of Albrecht Dürer watercolor pencils by Faber Castell
    Pastelmat by Clairefontaine

In case anyone notices: I say that this is the first time I am using them, but the applicators are clearly dirty. 😅 I swatched the panpastels on a small piece of pastelmat before I started the portrait. 🙂

Thank you, Jen! I wonder if I should make a proper review, but I think for that I need to use them more, so maybe later. But I really like them so far!

Great result, I've not tried coloured pencil with pastels but I'm going to give it a go

The colored pencils don't cover what's underneath as well as pastel pencils would, but it worked pretty well for me. Also, I found that you can blend out the pencil strokes easily when you go over them with pastels again. It's an interesting combination, for sure! Have fun trying it out! 😊🌻 And thanks for the comment!
