- I usually use hot-pressed paper for dry-brushing, which has its drawbacks, so I wanted to try (the generally recommended) cold pressed watercolor paper this time. I like it!
Materials:
Canson Montval cold-pressed watercolor paper
Winsor & Newton Artisan water mixable oil colour in Lamp Black
Brushes suitable for oils/acrylic (and a make-up brush)
masks cut from plastic cards
different erasers

Very amazing drawding!!😍
Thank you!
Happy to know about this technique.
This is with oil colours?
Yes, with oil paint! I made a "how to" video in case you're interested in trying out this technique: ruclips.net/video/ey9PxyKntrk/видео.html Hope this helps!
Amazing work. What the name of the paper tool you used to block the blank areas and is it on Amazon? Thank you.
Do you mean the little green card? That's just a random plastic card that I cut into a shape that would be helpful. You can make such "masks" out of paper as well, but they are less durable. Hope that helps!
Could you tell me which brushes to use for tiny lines like eyelashes?thanks!!!!!!
I use any sort of detail brushes for oil/acrylics. Soft, but firm. I think this comes down to personal preference. :)
@@oilonpaper hi! Thanks!
I felt good. But the finishings are not better. The cold pressed paper isn't giving the smooth effect with the lamp black oil paint as drawn by the artist Igor Kazarine. I too have the cold pressed paper and the oil paint. But it's not working. What to do????
Hm, I guess you need to experiment a bit more. On his website, Igor Kazarin states that you can mix the oil paint with a drop of oil (sewing machine oil). Other people who use the technique say it's better to oil out the paint by applying it on a piece of paper (paper towel, toilet paper). The oil gets absorbed by the paper and you can use the paint for dry brushing. I'd do some experiments with that on scrap pieces of paper and see what works for you. Good luck!
