- The Honda Civic Si and Acura Integra share the same engine, chassis and basic software so which is the right one to buy? In this video I break that down to help you make an informed buying decision.

While the integra is more expensive it also sells closer to MSRP. The dealership markup on the SI is so absurd you may as well go for the integra
Went thru a car broker my sister recommended and the Honda’s ad department paid him not me. Saved 7k and was a- lot closer to MSRP.
That's exactly what I did. The Si markup was $10,000 USD average around my area so I went for the Integra. No complaints and so much fun to drive!
Same thing for the market here in Seattle, Si marked up with $5k accessories or just plain “market value” as the dealers put. I got myself an apex blue pearl with white orchid interior. Fantastic daily driver with 6 speed manual!😊
97’ integra had a rare 4 door which I owned and it was hard!
I have a 2020 ilx and my lease is almost up. Trying to decide between the two. Want to stay in the Honda family, but do not want a cvt. I can drive a manual, but not ideal. I wish Acura would have used a DCT. I am in Canada, so the si does get heated seats, heated steering wheel fog lights and a few more goodies.
There are some major differences in suspend integra rear sway bat17.5 si18 mm si much high Spring rate for less body roll and steering ratio big difference
Ist gen Integra was originally a 5 door hatch, like it is now. The coupe was just more popular, great video though.
I cross shop this with a sp touring hatch honestly.
Me too! I chose the Integra.
What do you think about the Civic Si vs Toyota 86?
The Si is just a lot more useful on a daily basis and arguably more fun/ comfortable to drive. The 86 is a lot more driver focused. Just depends on how you will be using it. This video may help: ruclips.net/video/d8BcSQfJ_80/видео.html
@@TheJDMFanatic Thanks! The 86 looks cooler, but sadly I don't live near any tracks and having 4 doors is better for a daily driver so I'm going to go with the Civic Si.
Yea I think you will love it! I would look at Hyundai Elantra N as well. It's a lot quicker than the Civic@@Mycatz
Yeah, totally personal preference. The SI has never been the top of the Civic trims, but it’s never been as stripped down as this model is in the US. I wanted to get one initially, but once the full details came out, I couldn’t stomach things like the base model dash cluster and having plastic trim where fog lights should be. The Integra is definitely nicer, but I found it hard to justify the cost of the A-Spec trim for what you get compared to other brands’ offerings. It just didn’t feel as nice as it’s trying to look if that makes any sense.
The integra wasn’t always a coupe. Came in a sedan.
I can't justify recommending an Si in good faith, the material quality was really cheapened with this generation. I hated how it felt in contrast to the integra, driving dynamics aside
They brought down the US spec Si amenities to make space and make you upgrade to the Integra if you want heated seats, adjustable dampers, and dual zone climate control. I’d say the ELS studio 3d, suede/alcantara seats, hatchback style, and heads up display in Integra is worth the extra money if you get it at msrp which I did
You lost me at "the integra was a 2 door."
Doh! My loaner car was once a white 4 door, and it was truly nothing special.
@@xp50player neither was the two door the engine was the same in both anyways
THE DESIGNE OF CIVIC IS TERRIBLE IN MY OPINION ACURA IS A LOT BETTER
This car has already failed.. barely anyone will buy it with a 6 speed. Should have taken the 10 gen coupe as the base platform…
Failed what ?
@@jayczyzyk9707 failed on bringing excitement to the Acura Brand.. Failed to bring enthusiasts into the dealership.. Failed to a generation of new buyers.. Failed on the design..
You see the Acura Integra brought the young and older into the dealership. It was a sporty beautiful car. A line of models for the budget. RS, GS, GSR, Type R.. Now we have the same car as a civic.. and the same as everything else on the market… no excitement.. nothing special.. a failure.. in comparison.. look at what Toyota is doing..
Wow, this comment aged like fine milk. The manual sold very well and the car as a whole is selling more than any of the competitors in its segment and also more than any other Acura. Regardless of your expectations or how you might feel about it, there is no denying that it has been a sales success for Acura.
@@Aki_Lesbrinco. It’s not doing that great considering what it could have been. Look at the sales of the previous generation. I will say the initial shock of this car did affect my reasoning. It’s just so…. Blah. The new SI looks better and is cheaper.
@@user-tj3et5ep6t Previous generation was different time and market, it has nothing to do with the car itself. I'm currently having this car shipped from US to EU, that's how special the Integra seems to be personally. I chose teggy over Lexus IS (2009-2012) and Honda Accord (2016-2017).
