The Integra manual on back roads, hairpins, and with better tires (I am running DWS 06+) is a beast. So much fun and I never feel like I am out of control even at 9/10ths around curves. That LSD is amazing. The car also kills in heavy snow and ice with both Vredestein WinTrac Pros and Michelin X-Ice Snows. As a daily, I can fit huge items in it, the stereo is a league above what you get in the Si, and the adaptive dampers make for a very comfortable ride if you want it. I don't - I run it in Sport 24/7. The stock tires are just awful though. I got rid of them almost immediately. My snow tires are quieter than the ProContacts.

love these! Civic SI is $10k cheaper, better looking, has better seats, and comes with proper tires meaning you would need to spend another grand or two on summer tires for the Integra. Acura is just a marketing company at this point and is very irrelevant. Get the better Honda in the Civic SI.
37k for a slower same car 37k for a name for a car that dont have the pedigree or look of the integra we loved. At first i understood it couldn't be designed like the original so i stood up for it after all all the hate for those reasons. but i thought being acura it has to stand out in loks somewhat ehich it is not. Performance needs to be way better than the civic si. interior looks power integra is not worth price.
I'm alright with it. Gives options depending on what someone might want, and this is a performance version of a Civic compared to what is essentially the base model of the Integra line (hopefully).
Your response is what's wrong with so called car enthusiasts.....1. The Integra was ALWAYS just a slightly nicer civic, it also ALWAYS had slow 4 door versions in the states and it also NEVER competed with actual luxury cars. It was always compared to cars like the GTI. So this whole it doesn't have the pedigree is silly and shows you and those that like your comment know nothing about Integras or cars. You also mention an expensive car being slower.....silly comment price and speed don't always go hand in hand a heavier car with the same engine of course wouldn't be as fast. Clearly based om this test it comes down to the driver.
@@ftr911drvr You have a point, but those aren't the Integra models people loved and car enthusiasts loved. But I agree with the civic comparison. Maybe a Type S version could change our minds.
That Integra isn't worth it. With the N cars from hyundai coming in at 33-35k with way more performance still less money and the civic very close for nearly 10k less this is a car that just doesn't make sense at all. And for something approaching 40k there are a tons of options that are more attractive around that price. Hell... A base camero 2ss is only 5k more than that Integra.. Holy crap those cars are slow for 2022 standards. edit: theyre slow for 2006 standards. when a bone stock 2006 si would annihilate them both. roflhonda
I just wish they had made the car with a bigger engine and no turbo, like my old 2003 RSX S-Type, which made the same amount of hp almost 20 years ago. It has a high revving, really fun engine. I'd like to see 220hp-240hp out of the modern version.
They both make 220 hp in premium gas 20 more then Honda says. Comparing to RSX from another generation which had nearly 50lbs of torque less is just wierd. I have the Integra A-spec Tech and had RSX with the 2.4. I love the 2.4 but it wasn't even close off the line or in the MPG department these days that does matter.
@@robertblack6630 Well that's interesting, considering they never put a 2.4 in the RSX. Where did you read it makes 10% more hp with premium gas? The RSX S-Type required premium, BTW.
Honda got rid of alot more than that. Adaptive Dampers, Foglights, Dual Climate, Heated Seats. Despite this, Honda raised the cost of the 11th gen Civic Si. All so they could charge much more for the Integra A-Spec with Tech pkg, the only way you can get the manual. That's the reason I wouldn't buy either one. Honda did the US market wrong here. If it was me, I would probably buy the much better performing Elantra N out of spite.

I am getting rid of my '18 Si, only because I can't make a phone call because of extreme static that suddenly arose and we can't find the source. The only consideration for the Integra is the Si doesn't have heated seats, a must for this old guy in the north. If the Integra had a touch more power, or something that really made it a better performmer, I wouldn't have a problem paying the premium, but no, I will probably be looking at something outside the Honda family now.
it feels more refined but it is not that quiet. I am installing KilMat in the doors after Xmas, maybe in the trunk area too. From what I have seen online, that should make a huge difference in not just noise, but that satisfying clunk of a well insulated vehicle when the door closes.
Wow, very disappointed with the new Integra. A beefed up K20 NA motor would be a nice engine choice instead of the same 1.5t that comes in the civic. I really do like the new SI overall and think for the price and how fun it is to drive, a way better choice. Once again, marketing and packaging screws up what was an iconic car.
I had an Integra and a RSX, both 5 speeds. Would have bought another one, but Acura stopped making 2 doors. Got a 2012 Civic SI Coupe instead , which I love. Hard to find a 2 door coupe with a stick. Now , the SI is no longer a 2 door.
The SI looks so much better but the Integra has it beat if you want a more luxury interior. Personally I’d take the Civic over the Integra on looks alone.

You do get a lot more stuff in the integra but $8000 more no. It should at this price have the two liter or a hybrid system with more power and AWD. Both are nice cars I prefer the integra for the hatch luxury adjustable dampers heated seats etc. And the looks it's about the same size as the Audi A5 liftbacks and BMW 4 series hatch but lacks the power of those and some of their nvh AWD options and higher quality interior. I really with Honda would go all out and use this body to compete with those, it would probably add another 19 thousand but with AWD the civ v type r motor manual or dual clutch it would be worth it.
This was a great comparison! I enjoyed it, but the lady made it a lot better!😎👍🏿. The Launch was bad with the Acura the first time, but second time was great! It all boils down to the driver. Tires play a big roll in performance.

I dig this drag format! Who knew adding a simple curve would be so much more entertaining!
This format has been done before. It's questionable how well it works due to driver skill and so many opportunities to make a mistake.
Lol do you mean the curve of the woman or the curve of the U drag lol.
@@nighthawk0077 Really?? where?? I've never seen a full 1/4 mile, then swap lanes and swap drivers?
I love this format!!!
U nd all of us lol
Easily the Si is the better bang for your buck!
Anyone else planning to wait for the Type S? Hoping for the Type R's powertrain without the boy-racer looks ... and I bet they'll even throw in a decent set of summer tires.
The 2022 typeR is way less flashy than the previous one.
I am a hard core car guy but Lauren, is the star of the show, just wow.
Been waiting for more U-DRAGS!!!
Awesome to see a queen running things
Go Lauren! Ohh, the race was awesome too😉👍🏾
U drags are awesome! Do more! Tires do matter!
I want to say tire size also matters . But I don't want to be crude.
It was so lame how happy and stuck up Jason was when he won the last race (finally!!). I mean to be so arrogant on a win that wasn’t even properly earned, considering Kurt purposely threw the race to save face with the office politics. Which is understandable but to be so happy to have won? Strange lol.
More U-drag's please. Much, much more of them!
This was cool, Keep it up. Let's go LAUREN.!!!!
Integra should have had the Accord 2.0T engine with the 250hp considering the price of the Integra....
i need to see the ilx vs integra
Yup older guys has more passion for cars and understands a competition.
Yay! Udrags is back!!!
Love these keep them coming.
I wouldn't take either for racing. Depends which one makes the better daily and is more fun cruising or on a country back road.
I love this channel! Unless you're a fanboy/girl, I do not know why anyone would choose the Integra over the Civic. It seems to be a better buy overall and Acura's luxury 'cachet' is not high enough to justify the price. Also...Johnathan is a hottie!
Good race, good people, good attitudes. Loved it. Older guy is super nice (but also their all nice) - he threw the last race, what a nice guy. Commentary on the summary was spot on and well done. Well done guys.
Lauren is attractive no doubt but I'm not feeling that she is a car enthusiast. Not sure why I'm getting that impression. As for the race, shame on Honda. They should have engineered the Integra to beat the civic.
D!vers!ty hire for sure.
love these! Civic SI is $10k cheaper, better looking, has better seats, and comes with proper tires meaning you would need to spend another grand or two on summer tires for the Integra. Acura is just a marketing company at this point and is very irrelevant. Get the better Honda in the Civic SI.
So engine specs and weight wise, my 2008 vw eos can preform better than an SI if i upgrade the tires and suspension?
Regardless most car enthusiasts don't see what's so special about the car when its advertised as being very sporty and premium when its a Si thats more fancy.
It seriously pains me to say that it's a real flop. And I'm a real honda acura fan!
@@ftr911drvr honestly my main problem is price. $37k is Type R money for Si Performance. Especially since after adjusting for inflation, the DC2 was sold for what would be $38k in today's money
I made a similar comment when they put the new WRX vs a 6spd Elantra n. The blonda dude won both races in both cars. And he did it again today. Once again proving the driver makes all the difference with manuals
Love U Drag, keep these coming!
Lauren should have raced
maybe the old guy was a better driver but the si still has better performance bc its way lighter
So it's a drivers race between the two even though the teggy seemed to pull harder
Great stuff. I just can't get excited about ditching my DD 10th gen for something running mid to high 15's. Not to mention, I added a simple +9 hondata tune and I'm running high 13's with the push of a button. Zero desire to upgrade right now, especially given the market craziness. I'm hoping my 10th gen will tide me over for a few more years until I can get a new CTR for MSRP. *Fingers crossed*
Holy crap those cars are slow for 2022 standards.
edit: theyre slow for 2006 standards. when a bone stock 2006 si would annihilate them both. roflhonda
Recent dynos show that Honda dialed up an extra 20 hp at the crank for the Integra vs Civic.
Why would honda get rid of the adaptive suspension on the civic si? Wth
Obviously for the Integra to exist. Add adaptive dampers, leather, better audio, different body, and boom we got a integra
@@BitcoinTo100K that's hilarious and unfortunate.

After we've owned a flawless in 50K miles 20 Hyundai Palisade, (first Hyundai) it's hard not to recommend the brand. I have been VERY impressed. With a standard 10yr/100K powertrain warranty for added peace of mind, it's really hard to go wrong.
which one has the better seats? the Si has the integrated headrest whereas the Integra as the separate/adjustable headrest? how are the bolsters? do you slide around in the integra's leather? My closest Honda dealer as 2 (TWO) new cars on the lot and they aren't Civics or accords or CR-Vs or Minivans. not sure how many cars my acura dealer has because they are 25 miles away
The suede stuff in the center of the A-Spec plus the bolsters hold you in pretty well. I scared myself a bit throwing it around a corner on the test drive and I didn't slide around at all.
is there going to be a race of the type r civic vs the type s acura?
If you’re younger than 25, get the Si, otherwise get the Integra. More room, leather seats, better suspension, with a hatch.
There's more room in the Integra?
@@ALMX5DP , no they are on the same platform.
@@reesee175 no with hatch there is more room it's a inch wider almost 6 inches longer you can feel it in the interior which is bigger them a TLX especially in back seat
$10k price difference and they have the same
powertrain. 🤔😬. That's a head scratcher.
For leather seats and a lift back…
“Luxury”
You're all wrong, this proved what I've been saying for a while. They ruined this chance at bringing back the Integra 100%
Great drag with the corners. Eliminate the driver errors. More drag races should be like this.
I like the Integra because it looks more like a luxury brand with an upgraded interior and I've always liked a 4-dr hatch. Acura just needs to make an Integra sh-awd Type-S with the Civic Type-R engine.
I did not hear the vtec change over at 6000-8290 rpm?
You gotta snap the throttle at a certain time it's weird. If you just flat foot it, it won't do the diddly.
The the Si !!! , just a fun all around car. Good price great gas mileage and fun on the curves . Good review.
summer tires not available on the Integra?
Is it totally about racing them or would the Acura feel more refined & quieter than the Si?
it feels more refined but it is not that quiet. I am installing KilMat in the doors after Xmas, maybe in the trunk area too. From what I have seen online, that should make a huge difference in not just noise, but that satisfying clunk of a well insulated vehicle when the door closes.
You pay a premium for the Acura name. Acura should apply AT LEAST a bit of enhanced tuning performance for the extra $$$.
More U drags and more Lauren McCay please!!
Should do an elantra n vs kona n... also miata vs gr86... more practical cars please
Integra deserved the 2.0T. For almost $10k more than the Si, it better be faster while refined.
Good launch make a big difference. Can't wait for the type R against the type S in the future
And I will buy a fully loaded Integra A Spec CVT anyway.
@@RichardJoashTan That’s the beauty of having options. To each their own.
@@RichardJoashTan lol have fun spending all that money on a mediocre performing car. At that price you could buy a much better car
@@TheBomberman122 so which car is better at same price 🤔
@@robertblack6630 You can buy a accord 2.0t. Much better car.
Technically I won’t say the Civic is better when it is basically the same vehicle but the Acura has more luxurious touches. I really am not an Acura fan but I love this Integra.
U said it yourself they are practically the same vehicle. So why would u spend almost 10k more for the acura.
@@notsure3535 I prefer the style of the Acura which is why the vehicle exists, to appeal to different people. Same for most other brands and models. They share platforms and powertrains amongst other vehicles but with a different design. Not every design works for everyone no matter how similar they are underneath.
@@Alex-vc5dr true. If the extra cost is worth it to u. Then do your thing.
Awesome video, I would love to see Acura Integra CVT auto vs Honda Civic Touring CVT auto
15.5 1/4 for the new Si is abysmal and lousy. Previous gen Si (9th) did the 1/4 mile in 14.9 @ 96 mph.
What type of test environment was that in? Also though, these cars are about handling and not 0-60.

Yes!!!!+!!! I love her already!!!!!
Acura really should have given the Integra a power bump for the extra money.
So the younger worse driver is the boss? That checks out.
Integras used to always have more powerful engines than the civics, no more.
No the civic have more powerful engines than the accord and integras and even the accord is based in n the civic.
More more more U Drag. This is brilliant.
You do get a lot more stuff in the integra but $8000 more no.
It should at this price have the two liter or a hybrid system with more power and AWD.
Both are nice cars
I prefer the integra for the hatch luxury adjustable dampers heated seats etc.
Tires play a big roll in performance.
i would take the inteagra, but that is only cause i had a 98' LS integra and i drove a 2006 RSX base for years.
i currently drive a 2019 honda passport SPORT.
I would buy the integra and purchase summer tires for it. Then it will be easier to keep up with the Civic si.
For 10k more, thats a loss. Might as well get the Civic Type R at that price point.
@@tomchang88 Agreed keeping up with the si which costs way less isnt really that impressive, although both are basically even if you do a pure roll race.

TOTALLY look alike except that one looks completely different from the other but yeah other than that, totally look the same!!
As a truck driver I see those Civics all day everyday Vs the Integra, Civic is a little basic sporty. I would be interested in seeing Integra CVT against either one in manual.
Showing that two closely spec'd cars have greater variance in driver skill and execution. That's the variable that matters most. Summer tires are just a stop away at the tire store but in the real world, on real streets in all kinds of weather, all-season tires make more sense for more people. They'll cost less, perform better in all conditions, and usually last longer. Your choice.
