@polloaztecaSRT yeah it's ugly, but I thought Lego was going somewhere with the "offroad trial vehicles" but if I'm not mistaken, they only released 3 remote controlled offroad sets? those two and their recent "trial truck" which is very lat to the party. I got the original and absolutely loved it. I saw the "remake" as a bigger version with control + that happened to be uglier.
In the 40+ years of this theme, almost everything is a copy in some form or fashion. You're either going to build a car, truck, semi, aircraft, watercraft, crane, or some form of construction vehicle. What I'd like to see is a Huge model broken down to components. The set would consist of a full function engine, transmission, differentials, and each one at a different price point. Even options like a V-6 or V-8, or automatic or manual transmission. Then you assemble all the parts into a 3 or 4 foot long model. Then there would be accessories like an engine lift, floor jack, toolbox, 2 and 4 post lifts, garage building, etc. It could be a long term investment driving sales for years...
@@Unbrickme I don't know if would actually work tho, after I thought about it. It could be an entire segment just for a brick built car. Probably need a ton of specialized parts. Probably why it isn't a thing lol..
I could see this working more as a whole subline of Technic. Seperate sets like engines, wheel assemblies, chassis packs, etc. Allowing you to modularly build a vehicle the way you want. A construction booster pack with lots of yellow panels, buckets, hydraulics, pneumatics. A racing booster pack with lots of engines, gears, suspensions. Aimed at an older audience, it would not only allow for really good deals on parts, and better choice over the end model, but freedom to more innovative builders who want to build machines that dont exist in sets, or dont exist at all. I could see them selling larger kits that allow you to build and truly understand underlying mechanisms. Like a engine kit, a gearbox kit, suspension kit, linear actuator. While im a fan of Technic, im a bit mechanically challenged and have no fucking clue what im building or why, just that it works. Understanding what its doing and why it works would be a fun experience. I could see it being a successful line if handled like that. Buying several kits can allow you to create some huge supermodels like you imagine, without some stupid hefty pricetag of several hundreds of dollars. (Upfront atleast)
I agree, the 2012 4X4 crawler was WAY better than the X-treme off roader. However, it did not have independant suspension, which is probably why it had more ground clearance. But still, the X-treme off roader is crap compared to the 2012 crawler.
Unbrickme, I have a question what will the Mercedes arocs cost if I were to buy it now? It will be awesome if Lego made a remake version of that with improvements
I like my racetruck 42041. Probably more people liked the original than LEGO originally thought, so they re-released it. It looks pretty good next to my old 82 series American trucks. If you only valued it for being a limited edition, that's a personal choice.
I think there should be a Powered up remake of the 8043 using the angular small motor from Spike Essentials as a gearbox motor and two large motors while retaining the dual axle through turntable functionality and maybe having some more functions since in this optimal configuration does allow for 8 functions.
It will be even easier for motor to rorate. When you swap gears, speed falls down, buy torque goes up(on output, input still rotates by the same way). So, it is easier for motor to go through any obstacles, but vehicle will be slower
4:18 - I bought that tractor just last week - second hand. It was bagged up nicely (the tractor and trailer section were complete but bagged separately) for only $50 AUD. It was a great find!
The number #5 had the bonus of giving the middle finger to those assholes that use Lego sets as a form of speculation, driving the price of old sets to absurd levels, when you can find them at all...
@@Unbrickme Same the multidirectional gearbox is great because 1: You don't have to change the direction of the motor. 2: It is also just cool. I am currently working on making a bigger version of the crane the main boom is 120 studs long and I am working on a second boom that some big cranes have to support the main boom. ☺:)
If you look the remakes as chances for people who missed the original ones to get their hands on something similar, like me, they are not that bad, tbh.
Hey! Whats the song at 4:57 ? I have been searching for it for at least 3 years and i am still trying to find it. It would be great if you can give me the link of it. Thanks!
you can drop the gear ratio easily on the 4x4 extreme off-road i have done that and it off-roads much better plus i added 4 shocks in the front and put it in a different hole for more clearance and compression
And why is duplicate sets a bad thing? Its nice to see something fresh from time to time but surely no one is going to complain when exact (good models) are rereleased.
Idk i feel Ike #4 would have been really cool if they lowered the price and did those ground clearance mods that you did i do agree its a little disappointing like how it got stuck on that rock. Im more of a mindstorms person. (Yes i do know that lego mindstorms does use technic parts)
Hi, im a huge fan of power funktions and recently i got the liebherr excavator. Is there any way to modify the controls of this so that i can build whatever I want or am I restricted to the few models on the app?
is it that difficult to change gears in 42099? also 9398 is completely different than 42099 because 42099 has: double wishbone plus pendular while 9398 has live axles and no planetary hubs. But still i think rest of the list Is right
Thank you very much for your support! It’s very easy to change the gears in the 42099, but I should not have to modify technic sets in order for them to be good, especially at $250.
Hello unbrickme. I have got a question. I recentley bought de concrete mixer truck for €70. I think thats a great deal. But is it easy to motorize? I have got a power functions L motor, a IR receiver and a train(not a normal) battery box. Bye!

“Even better than the Arocs”
Yeah, in opposite land
Idea for video: sets that lego technic should make

Nice :)
42099 feels like an unfair comparison, it's not a crawler...
2:25 "No pressure" That was the best pun, I liked the video
If u talk about history, you gotta talk about that LEGENDARY 8043 Motorized Excavator!
It would be cool if Lego brought the 8043 Motorized Excavator in red or some other color than the original yellow.

3:10 but will increasing the torque stress the motor? Because Lego did a lot of test to see if the motor was stressed in any way.

pieces arent everything; i would easily buy a more functional set even if it had less pieces and was a bit more expensive.
I recently got a 9398 crawler for 40€ from a friend who has no idea of LEGO. Kinda good deal, isn't it? :D
great deal
Im wondering what are the rarest functions in technic
awesome video idea, I will start researching that
