The problem with both sets is, that they cost to much.😒
i agree i have the 4x4 x treme offroad (orange one) and i really would like the zetros
It would be interesting to see how the Zetros would do if you put bigger tires on it.

Worse... Its transmission is too overloaded and can't handle the bigger tires and bigger grip. Several reviewers already notices that CV joints disenages themselves on off-road tracks with 42099 wheels.
I have 42129 and I got to say it definitely does a good job with climbing
I've managed to get the Zetros to climb 45 degrees using a long skateboard as the platform. The grippy surface helps.
Me too, i did it on a wood table and it climbed 45°, if you do it with cardboard you notice the difference, the grip is important
Zetros needed 50% bigger wheels, wider stance and a bit more height for the extra clearance to be effective at any basic climbing
Set this to 2x the playback speed for a decent viewing experience
Also the reason why the Zetros can "climb" better is most likely because the tires are very new and have better grip - you could validate that theory with a simple tire swap.
Well that’s be due to the diff lock, most of the weight at the front axel and a long wheelbase allowing it to climb.

All of the Control+ sets are overpriced IMO, unless you get them discounted from a place like Zavvi

Good comparison. Both have advantages and both have disadvantages. Really depends on which people prefer. IF i could afford them here in New Zealand, I'd get 2 of each.
Well with proper gearing, 42099 can be stronger and a bit faster than zetros, but with the original gearing, it sucks
Nice video. Is there something wrong with the front wheel of your zetros no or you just keep moving them? I bought the zetros at 175 EUR (last box, on sale) and it's incredible. At the original 330 eur I'm not sure it would be worth it.
Mercedes is soOOOOOoo slow, and got very small wheels, but is My favourite set❤❤👍👍👍 nice!
I would buy the zetros. If you put bigger wheels on it it will almost do all of these tests. Also the other one was modded so…

I have 4x4 treme and its pretty good to play in street
both horrifically overpriced, I'd say the orange one does look more fun because of the speed and manoeuvrability.

I might get 42129 when it goes on sale, otherwise not worth full price
yes, my 42099 is always in switched gears mod. Standard mode is weak.
If you drive the 4x4 in reverse in the slope test it can do 40 degrees
Can you share more info on axle mod?

With my zetros I did over 50 degrees on a good surface of a windshield on a car

I really like discussions! I am not a big fan of the new Control+ system, First of all due to lack of a proper controller. For now I soved this issues using Pybricks and lego remote from the new train set. And for the Zetros I read a lot of bad review, they describe It as a crawler that can crawl with structural problem (clicking on rear axle). I think on the other hand that Zetros had great material for MOC. Maybe I Will buy It but I think I Will use It directly fpr a MOC.
Think about what 300€ are and what you could get from alternative companies. Imo not worth. 200 maximum, and 200 is A LOT of money for a toy.

42099 is my fav offroader,I bought it for 180 usd only at In’S Point
9398 is defenitely the best one, I dont understand why people would buy 900 parts for 180 dollar and u cant even use the motor for anything else.
For example: I once used the motors to upgrade the b model of 42043 and i was able to use it with a remote. I dont recommend lego now

well i will always say that 42099 was best lego rc - with such simple mod like switched gears it can do really everything - its easy to buy it much cheaper also. i will pass with zetros cuz its only looks cool - offroad is not best side for this truck
The 42030 Volvo L350F was the best Lego rc, it has more functions than the offroader and the Zetros and it was cheaper too

A truck is not built to pass dunes or something like that; i loaded Zetros deck with a 9 (nine!) kilos load and runs on as if nothing happens! Try to believe!
Mercedes is not better at crawling but it’s way stronger
Make the Zetros a 6*6 and he'll be much much better.

the mercedes has more torque, so it has a great climbing ability and the offroader has a higher gear ratio.
